MAC's New Skin-Perfecting Foundation Feels Like You're Wearing "Next to Nothing"

While full-coverage foundation is de rigueur on YouTube, many women prefer something lighter and more natural-looking for real life. However, not all sheer face makeup is created equal. Many formulas provide patchy coverage while others offer basically none at all, which can leave you appearing sallow or tired. Furthermore, they can feel chalky or greasy like a full-coverage product, which is what we're all trying to avoid.

MAC Cosmetics's genius new foundation range beautifully balances sheer coverage, a dewy glow, and a texture that makes skin feel as if it's naked. Hence the name of the product: Next to Nothing. There are two formulas to choose from. The liquid, Next to Nothing Face Colour ($31), is almost like a BB cream or tinted moisturizer, offering loads of hydration and a wash of color that helps delicately mask imperfections. After applying this product, we noticed our skin was seriously radiant - but not shimmery, which many glow-boosting formulas are - due to the product's opalescent microspheres.

The powder formula, Next to Nothing Pressed Powder ($27), is satiny and silky, with a similar pearlescent quality to its liquid counterpart. Instead of appearing like a dusty film on our skin's surface (or making dry spots appear patchy), it vanished, leaving our complexion flawless. Apply it with one of the range's two brush options, the 140 Synthetic Full Fan Brush ($42) or 141 Synthetic Full Fan Brush ($35).

Both foundation formulas will be launching on April 6 and will be available in nine shades. Keep reading to see them all.
