"Mouse Ears For Everyone" Helps Special Needs Families Navigate Disney

Navigating Disney can be difficult for any family, especially with a baby or multiple kids. For Amy Schinner, a former Disney employee and mother of two, the hardest part of getting around Disney was having to uncover information and resources on her own to take her son Ben, who has autism and loves all things Disney, to the park. Her findings and experiences were compiled, and Mouse Ears for Everyone!: a Guide to Walt Disney World For Guests With Special Needs was born.

"Vacationing is a great way for families to bond and create memories that will connect them forever," Amy shared on the book's website. "So, when I noticed there are many different travel guides for Disney, but not one for helping families with special needs, I decided to create one myself."

Because the demands of children and adults with special needs range so much, Amy's guide is all-inclusive. Thanks to her own research and experiences, as well as the expertise of other Disney cast members and other parents of special needs children, Amy was able to compile the best tips, tricks, and advice. From the "sensory impact" levels of different rides, restaurants, and shows to how to navigate the park with wheelchairs and strollers of all sizes, the guide has it all so that every family can experience a little stress-free Disney magic - just as Walt Disney intended.

"I'm an advocate for people with disabilities," Amy said. "I hope the information in my book and on this site helps other families create special memories and discover their own Disney Magic!"
