The Incredible Keepsakes 1 Mom Makes Out of Placentas and Umbilical Cords
As more moms are choosing to turn their placentas into smoothies, face creams, and pills, one mom envisioned a more permanent fate for the organs. Nicole Petrucco, a mom of three from Australia, creates keepsakes for clients out of their dried afterbirths. From twisting umbilical cords into heart mementos to stretching the placenta to create dream catchers and drums, this creative mom is making some unexpected items out of something that many would like to cherish.
"I go to quite a lot of talks and moms' reactions can be a mixed bag. There are people who say, 'Oh my god that is disgusting,' but most people are generally intrigued and want to hear a bit more about it," Nicole told the DailyMail. "A lot of ladies aren't expecting them, but they are a really sentimental thing to have."
