This Simple Ad Featuring Kids Playing Basketball Has a Powerful Message
A simple advertisement featuring children playing basketball is sweeping the internet and stealing its collective heart. In the ad, a basketball bounces away from the group and down an alleyway, so one of the children runs to retrieve it, which is when he spots a young boy in a wheelchair. The two exchange greetings, but it's not until the next scene that things start to get too sweet to handle.
When the boy in a wheelchair notices a basketball sitting on his front porch, he goes to find its owner and instead finds the boy he met before with all of his friends playing basketball - and they've all fashioned wheelchair-like seats to sit on while they play. The ad, which is for Canadian Tire, finishes with a simple statement, "When the best of us steps up, our nation stands a little taller."
Although this advertisement is Canadian, its message is 100 percent universal, and we're obsessed with it.
