Ina Garten announced via Twitter that her next Food Network show will be called Cook Like a Pro, airing mid-May. The Barefoot Contessa is pictured with Lidey Heuck, her assistant, and the two are posed with chevron cakes, a hack Ina shared with her followers a few weeks before. On Lidey's Instagram, she wrote, "Had a blast filming with Ina today and got to work on my chevron skills! (getting there!!)"
Though no official press releases have been posted by the Food Network, Ina spoke to Today Food and divulged that Cook Like a Pro will be directed toward a millennial audience and will focus on proper cooking techniques over elaborate recipes. She explained, "People are growing up without anyone to show them how to cook, and millennials want to cook for their families and have dinner parties . . . I just want to show people how to saute a pepper, chop an onion, and cut a cauliflower so that it won't get all over your kitchen. A few simple tips can take something to a professional level."
Ina added that she has just filmed an episode for vegetable paella. "If you cut the vegetables a certain way and roast them a certain way, it brings out all the flavors and looks beautiful. I love things that are simple to do but look like they would have been elaborate," she said. We can cheers to that!
