Will Jack Die in the This Is Us Season Finale? It Could End on a Cliffhanger
We only have one week left until the This Is Us finale, and we're more worried now than ever. While Milo Ventimiglia (Jack) admitted that the season one finale will offer a lot of resolution, the rest of the cast has also teased that it will be "crushingly painful" and the most dangerous episode yet. So, what's the truth? Will Jack die in the finale? Or will we be left with even more questions than before? Well, it certainly sounds like the latter.
Let's look at the obvious here. To show Jack's death would mean we would finally learn how he died, which the show's creator, Dan Fogelman has already admitted won't happen right away. The series has also been picked up for two more seasons. Why would they chose to reveal such a pivotal moment now, when they can expand on it in future episodes? Of course, it's possible that the finale will flash-forward, showing the immediate aftermath of his death rather than the cause.
Then again, Mandy Moore recently revealed that the finale will center around Rebecca and Jack as the latter goes to make things right with his wife on the first night of her tour. What if the final scene is just Rebecca getting a phone call that Jack's plane has gone down? The "plane crash theory" makes a lot of sense, and tying it to Rebecca's tour would be even more tragic. It certainly wouldn't be the first time the show pulled a tragic twist, but it would be the most heartbreaking cliffhanger yet.
