You'll React Just Like These '90s Babies When You Hear the Real Meaning Behind "La Macarena"
Just like you probably sang Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love" loud and proud before you realized what the lyrics really meant (not that you have stopped now), you might be shocked to learn the story behind '90s hit "La Macarena" - the people in this video by Distractify, who grew up listening to the song, certainly were.
We all knew the dance and we all hummed and bopped to the song even if we had no idea what the Spanish group Los del Rio were actually saying, but it's the parts in English that reveal what was really happening in the song. It turns out the girl in the tune was cheating on her boyfriend with not one but two of his friends while he was away; yes, seriously!
