Ben Affleck Is All Smiles During First Public Appearance Since Divorce
On Sunday, Ben Affleck made his first official appearance since he and Jennifer Garner filed for divorce. The actor attended a Q&A session at the 1st Annual AutFest International Film Festival in California, where he was honored for his performance of an action hero with autism in his 2016 film The Accountant. While there, Ben talked about he and Jen's three kids - Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel - and the possibility of them going into show business. "I love being an actor; I got into it as a child and I wouldn't change that," he said. "But I also wouldn't want to take my kids and push them out there before they were 18. If they are 18 and they want to make those choices and do that kind of thing, that's fine. But being a child actor, I just know too much of the downside of what that can be like. My kids would be good in the school play. If they can handle that, they're in good shape."
Ben and Jen, who first announced their split in June 2015, officially filed for divorce earlier this month. But despite their breakup, the two have remained incredibly close. Most recently, they were spotted sharing a laugh while attending church with their kids on Easter Sunday.
