Brace Yourselves, Meatball-Lovers: Ikea May Open Stand-Alone Cafes
If you regularly stop at Ikea just for the food, you're not alone - and the company knows it. In an interview with Fast Company, Ikea Food's managing director, Michael La Cour, acknowledged the popularity of the stores' food (ahem, those meatballs) and revealed that stand-alone Ikea cafes may become a reality. "I firmly believe there is potential," he said. "I hope in a few years our customers will be saying, 'Ikea is a great place to eat - and by the way, they also sell some furniture.'"
Fingers crossed that we'll be seeing Ikea cafes someday soon, and in the meantime, we'll be stocking up on their best snacks!
