Corset Braids Are the Badass Ballerina Trend You’ll Want to Lace Into
Sorry, flower crowns, you had a long run, but it seems like corset braids might be the next big hairstyle this festival season. Not only does it look incredibly awesome, but it's simple to style and way cooler than standard corset-less braids. Whether you're using a wide satin ribbon or a thin thread, the technique is exactly the same.
Create your corset braid by crossing string between two braids, just like you're putting new shoelaces in your sneakers. Toronto-based hair stylist Ariba Pervaiz suggests when using finer threads, "tie each end to a bobby pin and use the pin to push the string through the braid." But wide, satin ribbons will slide through your braids seamlessly. Alanna Durkovich, a Vancouver blogger, enhanced the edginess of her look with small hair piercings, making the perfect festival style.
