Do This With a Friend Every Night to Lose Weight Faster (No, It's Not Sex!)

Losing weight is so much about what passes through your lips. And although we can try to eat healthy or eat fewer calories, the one way to ensure that you're actually doing it is to track your daily food intake by writing it down in a food journal. Whether you like to use one of those food aps, or write down your meals and snacks in a food journal in a book or on your phone or computer, here's one way to keep yourself accountable: share it.

Email or text your daily food journal to a friend, family member, a gym buddy, or someone in your weight-loss program. You'll feel more inspired to track every single bite, and to be honest about what you actually eat. You can also text or email pics of your meals, new healthy recipes you tried, or pics of office cupcakes you proudly chose not to eat. While you're at it, selfie progress pics are also worth sharing, as well as sweaty pics of you after a workout, or pics showing how you reached new fitness goals (nice job running your first 5K!).

When they send you their food journal, it'll give you ideas for meals and snacks, and help you feel like you're not alone on this journey. If you've tried food journaling in the past with no success, or you're a food journal virgin, this could be an easy way to stay motivated, accountable, and on track!
