Ina Garten's NYC Home Is For Sale – and the Kitchen Is Not What You're Expecting
Barefoot Contessa star Ina Garten has just listed the elegantly appointed New York City apartment she shared with her husband, academic Jeffrey Garten, for $1.975 million, Variety reports. The couple purchased the Upper East Side apartment for $1.4 million in 2004 as a two-bedroom apartment, before hiring celebrity interior designer Daniel Romualdex to update it into a spacious one-bedroom. The property features a sunken living room with soaring ceilings and large leaded glass windows, his and her closets in the master bedroom, and a single - but luxuriously outfitted - bathroom; unfortunately, you have to walk through the bedroom to reach it. Food Network fans will be surprised to see how modest the home's galley kitchen is. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in smart design, with its open shelving and long stretches of counter space. The couple upgraded to a $4.65 million two-bedroom apartment in the same neighborhood last year. Get up close and personal with Ina's old space ahead.
