Join Our Twitter Chat on How to Help Women (Maybe You!) Run For Office
Whether we're turning out in droves to the Women's March or flooding the inboxes of public officials to voice our concerns, women are making it abundantly clear that we will not simply sit on the sidelines and watch major decisions being made without our input. And while championing change from the outside is vital right now, we also need more women's voices to be heard from inside public office, too. Like Elizabeth Warren said, "If you're not at the table, you're probably on the menu."
Instead of waiting around for the ideal candidate to run, take a good look in the mirror! If you're passionate about your community and determined to make a difference, you are just the kind of woman we need in office right now. Yes, you.
Forget about being intimidated by the process - with the right tools, you can absolutely become a winning candidate. To help you get started, POPSUGAR News is teaming up with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Representative Pramila Jayapal, and the experts at EMILY's List (an organization dedicated to helping pro-abortion rights women get elected) for a Twitter chat on how to help you run for office on Friday, April 28, at 1 p.m. ET. They'll be answering all of your burning questions about how to kickstart your campaign, including the challenges you'll want to be prepared for along the way and where to get help if you're brand new to politics. Follow along from our @POPSUGARNews handle and chime in to the conversation by using #PSNewsChat in your tweets! See you there.
Join our twitter chat w/ @emilyslist, @SenGillibrand, & @PramilaJayapal on 4/28, 1pm ET for tips on how to run for office! 💪#PSNewsChat
