Nars Revamped Its Iconic Bronzer Formula - and It's Better Than Ever

Before there were contour kits, liquid bronzing drops, and multiuse sticks, there was Nars Bronzer (Laguna being the star shade). This was my go-to for most of my tweens and early 20s - until the beauty market exploded with unique products to give that post-vacation flush. But I am going to be totally honest here - and I am a Nars junkie - in the past year, my trusty Laguna got relegated to the back of my drawer when I got my hands cheeks on the aforementioned products. Shimmery bronzing powder just felt so . . . 2004.

Then, I went to a preview for Nars's Spring launches a few months ago and discovered the brand has secretly been working on a new bronzer formula - and it's dope! I can finally share the details about these amazing pigments that I've been using for weeks. Meet Nars Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer, a new velvety matte powder with particles so small, you'd swear it was actually a pressed serum.

It comes in four shades - two classics (Laguna and Casino) - as well as two newbies (Seaside and Falaises). The formula is magical in that it seems to melt and diffuse into skin upon contact. Run your finger along the powder in the compact and it feels silky to the touch. My tip is to use a dense brush to pick up all of the finely milled particles, then layer it on! The product can be sheer or highly pigmented, depending on how much you use.

I've never seen a formula like this one, which is both matte and creamy but in powder form. It blends easily since the formula spreads across your skin upon contact. Seriously, it's like a magical blurring effect - a filter IRL, if you will. Overall, the flush it creates looks warm and glowy.

While you'll have to wait until March 24 to snag the Nars Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer ($40) at Nars Boutiques and on narscosmetics.com, you can see a first look here!
