Nicole Kidman Is Kind of Terrifying in the Beguiled Trailer
Director Sofia Coppola is back with her first feature film since 2013's The Bling Ring, and this time she's gone Southern Gothic. Based on the 1966 Thomas Cullinan novel and the 1971 film starring Clint Eastwood, The Beguiled centers around a Confederate soldier (Colin Farrell) who takes residence at an all-girls boarding school run by headmistress Martha Farnsworth (Nicole Kidman) in rural Virginia. However, as he begins to bond with a few of the young women, weird things start happening. Catch the official trailer above (as well as the teaser below) before the film hits theaters on June 23.
