If you tuned in to the finale of Big Little Lies, you might've been surprised by how nice Celeste's secret two-bedroom apartment was. Sure, it paled in comparison to the multimillion-dollar modern waterfront mansion she shared with husband Perry, but it was still way nicer than the average digs. We found ourselves coveting its light-filled rooms, stunning ocean views, beachfront location, and charming living room complete with fireplace. We even wondered if this Monterey, CA, hideaway was within reach of a normal person's budget, and to find out we found a strikingly similar apartment available for sale right now.
The charming property is located in a gated community directly on the sand (one of only two complexes in Monterey with this type of direct waterfront location) and offers two bedrooms and two baths spread out over 1,083 square feet of space. It's currently being sold for - wait for it - $825,000. That's more than double the February 2017 average cost of a new home in the US. While it's a bargain compared to the seaside palaces characters like Renata and Madeline live in, it's still very expensive.
