Why There Were Always Puppies on the Set of 13 Reasons Why

13 Reasons Why is the most heartbreaking new show of 2017 - I know it's only April, but can you imagine anything beating it? - and the cast had to take special precautions to not get completely and utterly depressed during production. The solution? PUPPIES. When we spoke to the cast before the show's release, Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford noted that because the subject matter was so heavy, they rotated puppies onto the set. "I know there was one scene, I wasn't around, but they had therapy dogs on set," said Minnette. "There was a puppy per hour. They really tried to help out. The puppies helped. [Langford] had the brunt of the emotional stuff. I mean, we all have very emotional parts, but this is about her character."
This is actually a great tip for cheering up after you finish 13 Reasons Why; just go hold some puppies.
