You Can Sleep on the Side of a Cliff at This Gorgeous (and Slightly Terrifying) Hotel
If you're afraid of heights, one look at the Skylodge Adventure Suites in Peru will make your stomach sink to your feet. Thrill seekers and adventurous travelers, on the other hand, will be scrambling to book their trips for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For just a little over $450 USD per person, you can book a "room" - or a transparent capsule - that sits on the literal side of a mountain overlooking the Sacred Valley of Peru. The experience offers unparalleled views around 1,400 feet above the valley, but you have to get there first. According to the hotel's site (and according to breathtaking photos from previous guests), to sleep at Skylodge people must climb "400 mt. of via ferrata or hike an intrepid trail through ziplines."
100+ Things to Do Before You Die
When guests arrive, they are greeted with what I'd imagine is a much-needed drink and gourmet dinner complete with a bottle of wine. They stay the night in a cozy capsule suite, each with six windows, a bed, and yes - a toilet. After breakfast the next day, travelers check out of their room . . . by zip-lining back down to the ground.
Reviews on Airbnb have been glowing; and from the beautiful (and slightly terrifying) video and photographs, it's easy to see why this experience is something you'd remember forever. Get a peek at the lodge (and the process of getting to and from the capsules) ahead.
