Kesha Frees Herself From Her Past in the Stunning Music Video For "Rainbow"
In the lead-up to Kesha's first album since 2012, Rainbow, the singer-songwriter dropped a handful of beautiful singles (as well as one seriously kickass one) with emotional personal essays to go along with each. On Friday, the same day Rainbow debuted, Kesha released the music video for the titular single. In an essay for Refinery29, Kesha explained the meaning behind her raw lyrics and how she hopes the song encourages self-love. "There's a line in 'Rainbow' that I really love: 'What's left of my heart is still made of gold,'" she wrote. "I truly believe that. It's true for me, and it can be true for others, too. I know giant pieces of my heart have been held captive in the past. But not anymore. And what's left is f*cking pure gold, and no one can touch that." Listen to it above.
