This Is the 1 Thing I Always Travel With to Make a Hotel Feel Like Home
As much as I love to travel, it also stresses me out immensely. From the timing to the money to the being-away-from-home thing, there's just a lot happening, and don't even get me started on the flying part.
Things naturally settle down for me once I'm at my destination and I can really live it up in my hotel. Honestly, I love hotels. I love that they're fresh and clean and that I don't have to do anything to make it that way. I love that someone else will make my bed for me every morning and put my shoes in order by my suitcase and bring me bottled water. I am nothing if not a bit lazy, and that's OK.
5 Ways to De-Stress Instantly
But the best part about hotels, in my opinion, is the bathroom. You see, I'm very fond of taking baths, but I need a certain ambience for it. So every time I travel, I bring along an assortment of Lush bath bombs to make a hotel tub feel like my tub at home. There's no doubt that a bath bomb will make any bath better, but for me, it calms me down when my vacation gets to be too much and it gives me the zen feeling of being at home.
There are endless other ways to de-stress when you're traveling, whether it's journaling or doing some light exercise, but the best way for me to relax is to bring it all back to the place I feel the most comfortable, aka the bathtub. It may seem counterintuitive since I'm on vacation and trying to escape home, but even then, I like my small comforts, and one of them just so happens to be very easy to pack in my carry-on!
