Why St. Croix Should Be Your Next Island Getaway
"Welcome to the Don't Hurry." These are the words painted across the walls of the Cruzan Rum Distillery, and they're a testament to the kind of vacation and energy you're sure to find on St. Croix. The largest (and arguably least touristy) of the US Virgin Islands, St. Croix has everything you could hope for from a Caribbean getaway: white sand beaches (of course), island reefs, ever-flowing rum cocktails, and more.
Better yet, the island's just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the States, with direct flights from Miami or quick connections available in San Juan, Puerto Rico. And 2017 happens to mark the 100th anniversary of the USVI's transfer from Denmark to the United States (to celebrate, you could even get paid to vacation here). So pack a bag full of colorful dresses, sunhats, and a hundred birthday candles. Here are nine excuses to jet off to the Don't Hurry.
