This Newly Discovered Ruby Chocolate Is Naturally Pink!
Talking about milk, dark, and white chocolate always sparks a healthy debate, and now, there's a fourth type of chocolate in the running for the best: ruby chocolate. This millennial pink chocolate is not artificially dyed with any pink coloring, which is what makes it so special - it's actually made from a ruby cocoa bean, giving it an intense taste and rich color.
The new, colorful chocolate is the creation of European company Barry Callebaut, one of the world's largest manufacturers of chocolate and cocoa products. Described by the company as "a tension between berry-fruitiness and luscious smoothness," the flavor of the pink chocolate is more elevated than your average bar. It's apparently not too bitter or sweet, meaning it's perfect for those who can never decide between milk, dark, and white.
In a press release, Barry Callebaut stated that ruby chocolate has arrived 80 whole years after the launch of white chocolate, giving chocoholics something new to look forward to trying. The company says, "It's expected that ruby, like dark, milk, and white chocolates will be introduced in different product categories," so here's hoping we start seeing this beautiful creation in candy aisles sooner rather than later!
