Saint Laurent's Models Literally Walked on Water During the Spring '19 Show
With illuminated, white palm trees and a water-filled runway right in front of the Eiffel Tower, Saint Laurent's Spring '19 show in Paris was the opposite of subtle. As predicted, it set the tone for Anthony Vaccarello's rock-star creations, which were short, shiny, sometimes see-through, and definitely statement-making.
Kicking up water in snakeskin boots or metallic platform heels, the group of models - which included the likes of Kaia Gerber - wore a variety of pants styles, from short-shorts to high-waisted options, as well as long, billowing sleeves, leopard print, and big, in-your-face belt buckles. Of course, it's impossible to ignore the trend of wide-brim hats and crown-like headpieces this season, both of which continued to hold strong at Saint Laurent, along with the funky (and in this case, triangle- or diamond-shaped) sunglasses that keep popping up. Plus, if you've been considering adopting trends like suit sets or neckties, now would be the time to do so.
Take a look at everything icons like Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, and Salma Hayek already viewed from the show's front row, and get ready to be wowed.
