Cleaning Your AirPods Is Super Easy - Here's How to Do It
AirPods, Apple's new take on the traditional headphones, have become increasingly popular in the years since their release, and understandably so. The wireless design allows for easier use, their battery life is great (15 minutes of charging equals 3 hours of battery life!), and they offer optimum sound quality. Not to mention they also have some serious live hacks that people can't get enough of. It seems that the hefty price tag (they retail for $159 on Apple's website) may be well worth the investment.
If you made the plunge from EarPods to AirPods, it's important to know how to keep them clean so they can sound, look, and feel their best. Thankfully, keeping these in tip-top shape is not too difficult, and can be done using everyday household items.
According to the Apple website, the best way to clean your AirPods is by using a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. A Q-tip is best for wiping down the microphone and speaker meshes, and if any debris is caught in either of these holes, you can gently use a soft-bristled brush, such as a small toothbrush, to dislodge it.
However, there's one very important detail you should keep in mind when cleaning your AirPods - they definitely cannot get wet. Neither the AirPods or their case are water-resistant, so be sure to keep any liquids away from them while cleaning.
