Once You've Mentally Recovered From Us, Find Out Why Josh Looked So Familiar

The reviews are in, and Us officially lives up to the hype. In fact, Jordan Peele's new horror film, starring Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong'o, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker, currently has a 94 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Now that we've invested in a ginormous nightlight (a floor lamp from Target that we plan to leave on at all times), we've been doing a deep dive on our new favorite horror cast ensemble. We knew Heidecker, the actor who plays Josh Tyler/Tex, looked familiar, but when we realized we knew him as one half of Tim & Eric, we couldn't believe it. It turns out the actor-writer-comedian-director-musician is quite the chameleon, and his past work speaks for itself.
Heidecker got his start when he teamed up with Eric Wareheim to create, write, and star in the animated series Tom Goes to the Mayor, which aired on Adult Swim from 2004 to 2006. The two continued to collaborate on a variety of Adult Swim shows, including Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Good Job!, Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, and The Young Person's Guide to History.
His big-screen career took flight when he landed a small role in the forever amazing movie Bridesmaids, and he was cast as Swanson in the Rick Alverson-directed film The Comedy, which pushed the boundaries of comedy, and became the most pirated independent film of 2012. Beyond those films, Heidecker nabbed the part of Mr. Richards in Fantastic Four, Bob Sherman in Flower, Tom in Sundowners, and Captain Daniel Gooobler in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
But his television reel is truly impressive. The actor played fan favorite character Ant Guy in an episode of Portlandia. We also can't forget his role as Gene in Eastbound & Down (and his impressive TV remote channel-changing abilities). Additionally, he's appeared in several episodes of The Sarah Silverman Program, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and the Kroll Show. You might also (ironically) recognize him from Ben Folds and Regina Spektor's 2008 music video for "You Don't Know Me." Did we mention he directed the Terry Crews Old Spice commercials? Seriously, this guy doesn't sleep. And thanks to his role in Us, we don't either.
