Only Shangela Could Perform a Medley of Beyoncé's Hits in Front of Beyoncé
Performing in front of Beyoncé is one thing, but performing Beyoncé's music in front of Beyoncé herself takes a level of confidence that very few people have, and Shangela is one of those people. On Thursday night, Beyoncé and JAY-Z attended the GLAAD Media Awards, where they were honored with the vanguard award for their ongoing support of the LGBTQ+ community. With Queen Bey and JAY-Z right in front of the stage, former Drag Race star Shangela treated the audience to a epic seven-minute performance of Beyoncé's hits, and it was so freaking good.
Not only did Beyoncé give Shangela a standing ovation following her performance, but while accepting her vanguard award, Bey gave a shout-out to the drag queen. "I'm just super honored and overwhelmed," Beyoncé said. "I've already cried. I put a run in my shocking from Shangela."
