If You Didn't See That Bran Stark Twist Coming on Game of Thrones, You Aren't Alone

Warning: major Game of Thrones spoilers ahead!
There are plenty of unexpected turns in the Game of Thrones series finale, and one of the buzzier twists affects none other than Bran Stark. From the Three-Eyed Raven to . . . the King of the Six Kingdoms? Yep. It's quite the ending for the young Stark, but dare we say that he likely, you know, saw this coming?
After Jon Snow kills Daenerys, a council of the remaining lords and ladies of the great houses of Westeros decides how to move forward. It's Tyrion Lannister who argues that Bran Stark should be king, launching into one of his signature monologues. "What unites people? Armies? Gold? Flags?" Tyrion shakes his head. "Stories. There's nothing in the world more powerful than a good story," he tells them. "Nothing can stop it. No enemy can defeat it. And who has a better story than Bran the Broken? The boy who fell from the high tower and lived. He knew he'd never walk again, so he learned to fly."
Tyrion's speech is enough to convince the group that Bran is the one who should rule Westeros, and after Sansa calls for the North to remain an independent kingdom, that's how the dust settles. Thanks to Drogon's fiery move, the Iron Throne itself may be gone, but the monarchy lives on with Bran as king. Repeat: Bran Stark is the king. Do you need to let that sink in for a few? Same page, and Game of Thrones fans have a lot of feelings about the surprising turn of events, which are captured in a whole bunch of hilarious tweets. Check out some of the reactions below, then see what viewers had to say about the show's final episode.
