This Major Death During the Game of Thrones Finale Was Like a Knife Through the Heart
Warning: MAJOR Game of Thrones spoilers ahead!
Daenerys Targaryen, the Unburnt, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons, has fallen. While many fans have long anticipated Dany's inevitable downfall, perhaps nothing could have hurt more than seeing Jon Snow pull her into a loving embrace, only to stick a knife through her stomach and watch the life slowly leave her eyes. "You are my queen, always," Jon reminds Daenerys in their last moments together. Granted, he sobs as he lays her lifeless body on the icy ground in front of the Iron Throne, so clearly Drogon isn't the only one left completely heartbroken.
If nothing else, Game of Thrones has long been a lesson in not getting attached to any one character, no matter how much potential they have to be something great. From the very beginning, Daenerys was a powerful leader with the capability to rule the Seven Kingdoms and beyond, leaving several fans truly mournful over her death.
