Whether you're a traveling novice or a total seasoned pro, we all make mistakes on the road. Chalk them up to learning experiences, yes, but that's not very consoling in the moment, when you're lost in an unfamiliar city without cash or WiFi. And for me, it doesn't matter how many trips I take, I learn something new every single time.
