I've Been Using These Kosas Lip Oil Glosses Daily, and I'm Not Stopping Anytime Soon
Despite owning dozens of lip glosses, most of them sit in my drawer collecting dust. While I love the glass-like finish these products give me, they're usually too sheer for my tastes and feel heavy on my lips. However, the chic architectural packaging and skin-enhancing formula of the Kosas Wet Lip Oil Glosses ($27) intrigued me enough to give another one a try.
The brand describes the product as a hybrid between a treatment and gloss due to the bevy of skincare ingredients included to pamper your lips. The hyaluronic acid, shea butter, and avocado oil in the formula boost the moisture in your skin, while konjac root creates a barrier to lock that hydration in. Skin-smoothing peptides ensure the color glides over dry patches instead of calling attention to them, and evening primrose oil is included to soothe chapped areas. Because of this skin-loving and blurring concoction, swiping the color across your mouth easily conceals any flaws.
Each one of the five shades glides onto skin like you're effortless glazing a cake and gives your lips a bright, popsicle-like color with a reflective shine. When you unscrew the pale blue top of the gloss, a slightly curved and skinny doe-foot applicator emerges, making it easy to precisely apply the product. While the formula is a little tacky to the touch, it's nothing like the sticky lip gloss tubes of the early 2000s that your hair would stick to on a windy day. Instead, these glosses are so comfortable to wear, you'll probably forget you have them on. The single best part of the glosses, in my opinion, is the slightly sweet scent that reminds me exactly of Stewart's Orange n' Cream Soda, my favorite childhood treat.
The five shades include a berry called Fruitjuice, a pink shade called Malibu, a nude called Dip, a clear shade called Jellyfish, and a red named Jaws, and every day without fail, I find myself applying and reapplying them. They're just always the ideal finishing touch to my makeup look. Now I can't imagine going without them.
Check out the juicy swatches and colors, ahead.
