Whoa: Apple Was Granted a Patent For This Incredible iPhone Design
Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / THEM TOO
If you're still digesting all the news from Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), get ready for some more big news from the company. Apple was granted a patent on June 14 for a "wrap around display" to use on electronic devices.
The display would exist on every part of the iPhone, and the familiar buttons like the lock or volume ones would appear on the screen. A bigger, wrap-around screen means playing video or games would become easier to do. Below is a photo from the patent showing what the display would look like.
Unlike the OLED screen rumor, which actually sounds like it'll happen, this idea may not pan out. As 9to5Mac mentions, Apple files many patents but most don't end up as real products. But since the patent was originally submitted in 2011, Apple has clearly thought about this idea for quite a long time - making this rumor one we hope does come true.

It's a lot of fun to watch and you'll have to look at it more than once to catch certain quick appearances. Watch it above and then spend another two minutes watching a love story told in Legos.

Created by Method Design, the weirdly satisfying video uses motion capture, procedural animation, and dynamic simulations to create some seriously eye-catching dance moves. A New Study Has Discovered That SUPER Old Hobbits Once Existed
If you consider yourself a hardcore Lord of the Rings fan, we're about to make your day a little brighter. A new study published in Nature found that more small, hobbit-like fossils, titled Homo floresiensis, were discovered on the island of Flores in eastern Indonesia.
However, these fossils (a lower jaw fragment and six teeth from at least one adult and two children) are 700,000 years old. A previous discovery in 2004 only found 60,000-year-old hobbit-like fossils. According to NPR, these creatures preceded modern humans by hundreds of thousands of years. Photos of the fossil are below.

Scientists guess this population of 3-foot-tall human relatives evolved from Homo erectus, theorized to have arrived on the island via a tsunami. They believe Homo erectus shrank over time, as island life sometimes evolves animals into smaller creatures. Small elephants were also discovered on this same island, perhaps giving merit to the theory.
"It is conceivable that the tiny Homo floresiensis evolved its miniature body proportions during the initial 300,000 years on Flores, and is thus a dwarfed side lineage that ultimately derives from Homo erectus," said excavation leader Dr. Gert van den Bergh in a press release. "It is also possible that this lineage predates the first hominin arrival on Flores, implying speciation occurred on a stepping-stone island between Asia and Flores, such as Sulawesi."
See the video below for more information:
Lord of the Rings and hobbit enthusiasts, rejoice and be merry. Maybe one day, scientists will discover the existence of Middle Earth.

The Harry Potter Fan Theory That J.K. Rowling Finds "Strangely Upsetting"
While J.K. Rowling typically entertains - or just doesn't acknowledge - circulating Harry Potter fan theories, she has some pretty strong feelings about a recent one involving Dumbledore and horcruxes.
One of the YouTube vloggers behind SuperCarlinBrothers, Jonathan Carlin, recently fleshed out a theory that Professor Dumbledore's animal companion, Fawkes, was actually a horcrux - implying that the greatest wizard of all time dabbled in dark magic.
Per Rowling's universe, horcruxes are created to attain immortality. However, they also involve murdering someone else in order to make one. This theory posits that though Dumbledore didn't deliberately murder anyone, he did still harbor guilt over the death of his sister, which he ultimately blamed himself for. Since Dumbledore pinned his sister's murder on his own neglect, he theoretically had a chance to perform dark magic and create a horcrux. You can watch a video about the theory below.
Though Carlin makes a strong case for this theory, Rowling straight up denied it when it was brought to her attention on Twitter - and even went so far as to call it "upsetting."
The idea that anybody believes this is strangely upsetting to me. https://t.co/G4RlSB9kEI
- J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) May 4, 2016
As other people on Twitter noted, Dumbledore didn't fear death and therefore did not desire immortality. His incomparable goodness also makes it really hard to believe that he would do something so evil in nature. Luckily, we can all let out a sigh of relief and thank Rowling for at least acknowledging this troubling one.

Don't Be Alarmed If You See Real Star Wars Droids Roaming Around at Disneyland
We're still not over the fact that Star Wars Lands are happening, and another piece of exciting news is already emerging about the parks. Disney hasn't made any official announcements, but fans are speculating that real droids may be coming to Star Wars Lands once the parks open in Disneyland and Disney World. According to a YouTube user who was at the Star Wars Launch Bay in Disneyland, a droid named Jake was spotted interacting with guests and roaming the grounds. Seeing Jake gives us a hint about what the droids may look like, though we don't know the exact designs and details. Jake can maneuver around by himself and even beeps and boops. While the Star Wars Lands don't open for another few years, catching a glimpse of this droid has us jumping up and down for what's to come.
Woman With No Internet Complains to the Company by Posting Cat Photos on Its Facebook Page
We're used to seeing angry customer complaints on a company's Facebook page, but photos of cats? That is a completely different story. When Laura Carrie couldn't resolve her internet connection with telecommunications company Telstra, she kept her cool and wrote a series of hilarious messages on Telstra's Facebook page.
"Now I can't watch Netflix (no interwebs remember) so I have to make my own fun. So I thought I'd reconnect with my cat, Kittie Smalls," she wrote. "Seeing as this night wouldn't have been possible without YOU I thought I'd share some moments with you. This is us playing poker. She's a natural."
The quirky complaint caught the attention of Telstra and someone even had a conversation with Laura, writing, "Nothing brings closeness quite like poker with your pet cat. Kittie Smalls looks like she's having a ball."
It may seem like this would be the first and last time Laura had to post on the Facebook wall voicing her concerns, but after 11 days of still no internet, she returned with a second round of photos, and third, and fourth. And at one point, her second cat, The Flee, makes an appearance as well.
All her cat photos definitely did something right because a Telstra spokesperson told Mashable Australia that Laura's internet has since been connected, after more than 15 days of no internet. We're sure she and Kittie Smalls are THRILLED.
Read all her hilarious messages to Telstra (and their replies) here.
Don't Attempt to Solve This Math Question, You'll Just End Up Confused
Another puzzling math question has not only stumped a 10-year-old but also his grandma. The homework math assignment in question was given out to Year Five students in the UK (equivalent to US fourth grade) and asked, "Calculate the perimeter of these composite rectilinear shapes." A photo of the problem is below.
Can you solve this maths question which has left pupils and parents scratching their heads?https://t.co/jmt1pbInNH
- Manchester News MEN (@MENnewsdesk) June 7, 2016
The Year Five's grandma and father were not happy with the problem at all. "My son's grandma had spent a while helping him with his homework and most of it was straightforward but this one question left her stumped," the boy's 43-year-old father said to Manchester Evening News.
When the father posted the question to the internet, people surprisingly came to a general consensus that even though the question appeared tricky, it was actually easy to solve, unlike this algebraic question posed to 6- and 7-year-olds.
@MENnewsdesk @AlexandraRucki 44 for both. Totals across and down must equal. 2nd has extra 2x 2s in vertical
- B K Eindvistle (@eindvistle) June 7, 2016
I was quite confused about the answer for the 2nd one. 2cm should be labeled clearly for vertical @eindvistle @MENnewsdesk @AlexandraRucki
- Anwar Hussain (@xphunt3r) June 9, 2016
@MENnewsdesk only confusion is the 2cm on the second one not being labelled clearly as it being the vertical length. But not "impossible"
- Mark D (@moormark12) June 7, 2016
@MENnewsdesk took less than a minute to solve this 'impossible' question. They're both 44. What do I win?
- Jimmy Blenkinsop (@JimmyBlenkinsop) June 8, 2016
Though a few adults were able to give this question a try, we can see how it would be hard for a 10-year-old. Have you solved the problem yet?
Here's the Right Way to Repost Instagram Photos
Instagram is among our first-thing-in-the-morning go-to apps. But its almost too simple interface has us wanting functions available on other social networks, chief among them: the repost (also known as a retweet, reblog, or share depending on your social site of choice). Fear not 'Grammers, discover the ways to share a picture you more than just love and give credit to the original poster while doing so.
- Repost for Instagram (free for iOS and Android) - View your feed in this app, then tap on a picture you'd like to repost. The user's account and profile picture automatically appear as a bar on the image that can be rotated. Hit repost to open and share the photo in the native Instagram app.
- Repost on Iconosquare - If you use the web client Iconsquare (formerly Statigram) to view Instagram while on a browser, click on the picture you want to share, and find the repost button below the photo. Select that to preview an image of the to-be-shared pic with a reshare icon in the upper left corner (as seen above). Click "Send me by email," to receive an email from Statigram with the preview image attached. Save that to your phone's photo library and upload to Instagram as normal. Though the original photographer's name appears in the photo, don't forget to give them an extra shout-out in the caption.
- Repost on Websta - Websta (formerly Webstagram) users can apply the same directions as the above Statigram reposting method and have the picture, marked with the original poster's name, emailed.

Gordon Ramsay's Wife Has Miscarried 5 Months Into Pregnancy
Gordon Ramsay shared the heartbreaking news that his wife, Tana Ramsay, has suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy. The celebrity chef and his wife have been married for 20 years and have four children together: 18-year-old Megan, 16-year-old twins Holly and Jack, and 14-year-old Matilda.
Gordon shared the below Facebook post with his appreciation for everyone's support after he and his wife learned the sad news over the weekend. "We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months. We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes," he wrote. Tana, 41, was due to have a baby boy in September.
The couple is pictured celebrating after they both completed an Ironman triathlon last year in Lichfield, England. While Gordon is known for his aggressiveness and quotable insults (and of course his five-star recipes, like scrambled eggs) in his professional life, he's a loving father and husband in his personal life, and he clearly has a soft side. Sending our thoughts to the Ramsay family during this difficult time.

1 Look at This Stylish Wedding Party Will Have You Reconsidering Those Matching Bridesmaid Dresses
When someone high up in the fashion industry gets married, you can bet the wedding will be an event that's talked about for months on end. That's exactly what happened when fashion influencer Anthony Kendal wed Rossa Prendergast in a lavish ceremony at Lismore Castle in Ireland. Not only were style stars like Daisy Lowe and Brooke Shields in attendance, but the bridesmaids wore a variety of designer gowns, from Valentino to Carolina Herrera - and none of them matched.
While all of the dresses definitely fell under the dark and elegant category, it proved that for many style-lovers, the whole matchy-matchy bridal party thing can be a bit overrated. It's a day to have fun and get fancy, and we loved how each look brought something unique and special, making things all the more magical.

6 Japanese Beauty Secrets You'll Want to Start Using Immediately
Japan is a treasure trove of unique beauty products and experiences. We have them to thank for the massive popularity of cleansing oils, and they produce some of the best sunscreens on the market. Without a doubt, they also have some bizarre products, too, like eye drops that sting (but produce the whitest eyes of all time), plus lip and brow tattoos. But here's the thing: they actually work and look great, too.
One popular item in Japan is facial essence. To us, it looks like a toner with its watery consistency. But while most toners are astringents that can dry out the skin, these Japanese essences are known for making the skin glow. They have many types of vitamins and acids that help turn over dead skin cells, which in turn makes your skin appear brighter. When do you use it? Think of it as a serum. Apply four to five drops of it on your palm and press into your skin. Then apply your favorite moisturizer.
Check out the six products Japan has bestowed upon the beauty world, and let us know in the comments if you've tried any of them!
10 Stunning Hollywood Makeup and Hair Ideas From the 2016 Tony Awards
I am going to be honest here: the Tony Awards is often my favorite show for its theatrical components (will be watching that Hamilton number on repeat until I can one day afford tickets), but the red carpet beauty can be a bit . . . well, boring. In comparison to the edginess of the Grammys or the all-out glamour of the Oscars, the Tonys can get lost in the realm of "playing it safe." Celebrities usual attend wearing their signature hair and makeup styles, and they look lovely, but it feels uneventful. In 2016, the stars came out with some fresh, on-trend ideas that made me do a double take. I rounded up some of my favorites from the evening, which I promise will offer unexpected Summer style inspiration - especially for a sexy night out or wedding. Just keep reading to see what I mean!

No Red Carpet Is Stylish Enough Until Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale Arrive
While you were gazing at Beyoncé and Jay Z or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at the Met Gala, Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne were over here - shutting. it. down. The celebrity couple takes fashion to another level, opting for standout pieces but keeping sophistication in mind.
Bobby, who's been getting buzz for his role in Vinyl (for which he slips into '70s statement suits), has joined Rose, who's promoting Neighbors 2 on plenty of red carpets in not-your-average tuxedos. And when his beau's crop top or sequined dress is begging for the spotlight, Bobby gets it right, choosing just the right separates to complement her. Read on to see their winning fashion moment at this year's Tony Awards, then find even more coordinated looks that are stop-you-in-your-tracks sexy.
30 Mermaid Nail Art Ideas That Even Ariel Would Envy
The onset of Summer always makes it abundantly clear to us: we're actually mermaids, and our life on land must be some kind of mix-up. We believe shimmering rainbow is the new black, a colorful coif is a necessity, and beach waves are an absolute given. But now that mermaid nails are the coolest talon trend, we're officially on the hunt for our aquatic sidekicks (Sebastian and Flounder, are you reading this?).
We fully support the women of Instagram who are bedecking their digits with sea-siren-inspired manicures. The designs range from subtle glitter and painted scales to practically blinding bling and shell-encrusted claws. A mere peek at these images will inspire you to hit the beach (with your tail, of course). Just don't forget the SPF!
Lupita Nyong'o Makes a Stunning Appearance at the Tony Awards
Lupita Nyong'o shone bright at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on Sunday when she made her Tony Awards debut. The actress, who was nominated for her role in Eclipsed, looked absolutely stunning as she walked the red carpet in a formfitting Hugo Boss gown. Even though this was her first appearance at Broadway's biggest night, she seemed completely at ease as she laughed and smiled with friends. Just another reason we love her so much!

Keep reading to learn them all, then check out the jobs celebrities did before they became famous (some of them are hard to believe!).
The 10 Commandments of Purging Your Beauty Stash
Beauty products can amass in your home for a billion different reasons - gift with purchase, sample boxes, party favors, mailings - you get the idea, it's hitting you from all angles. And that's hardly something to complain about; I mean, who doesn't love a new lipstick or dry shampoo? But it's easy to forget you even have those things when the flood of products continues to accumulate and build up to a mountain of clutter right under your nose. That's where the purge comes into play. It's never easy parting with what could maybe one day be something you possibly think about trying (see what we did there?), so we enlisted the help of organizational geniuses Julie Morgenstern and Barbara Reich to get their best tips for getting the job done. Here are the 10 commandments to live by when purging your beauty stash.
Eric Dane's Daughter Is Adorably Camera Shy While on the Red Carpet With Her Family
Eric Dane looked like a total heartthrob when he attended the 15th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Brentwood, CA, on Saturday, but it was his precious family who stole the spotlight. While posing for pictures with his wife, Rebecca Gayheart-Dane, and their two daughters, Billie, 6, and Georgia, 4, his youngest was adorably shy as she hid from the cameras. Not only did she stay close behind her dad on the red carpet, but she even went as far as putting her head under his coat. How cute! Of course, they did manage to get a few sweet photos in, with Eric putting a reassuring hand on his little girl's back. It only goes to show how picture-perfect their family really is.
Kate Middleton on "Very Cute" Princess Charlotte: She Has "Quite a Feisty Side"
During Princess Charlotte's supercute Buckingham Palace balcony debut at the Trooping the Colour parade on Saturday, the tiny royal made a nonstop stream of adorable, animated expressions while waving to the crowd and cuddling close to her mom, Kate Middleton. Well, according to Kate, the 1-year-old is just as spirited as she seems. When Glynis Double - wife of the City's Remembrancer - started chatting with the Duchess of Cambridge at the lunch held after the National Service of Thanksgiving on Friday, Kate couldn't help but gush about her daughter's personality. "She said, 'Oh, she is very cute but she has got quite a feisty side,'" Glynis revealed. "I then asked her about George and she said he was a really lovely little boy. She said she hopes that George will keep Charlotte in order!"
At this point, Prince George is practically an old pro when it comes to appearing at royal events, so we can't wait to see more of Princess Charlotte and her brother when they attend the rest of the royal family's scheduled functions this year. From birthday picnics to charity galas, there are plenty more events on their calendar!
Kendall Jenner Bonds With Brother-in-Law Kanye West at a Fashion Show
Kanye West showed off his softer side when he attended a fashion show with his sister-in-law Kendall Jenner in LA on Saturday. The "Famous" rapper sported a huge grin when he sat front row at Tyler, the Creator's Made LA runway show with the stunning supermodel. Kendall, who showed off her new short hairdo, happily chatted with Kanye as they watched the show and played on his phone (maybe she was deleting some of his tweets?). While Kanye showing happy emotion is rare, it's definitely not unheard of. His wife, Kim Kardashian, has been making him giddy since they started dating in 2012, and his two adorable kids also have quite the effect on him.
A Month-by-Month Guide to the Royal Appearances
The royal family has a pretty rigid calendar of obligations and traditions. While their assorted engagements, tours, and charity obligations don't have an annual structure, there are many dates in their diaries that will always remain the same - no matter what. Why will William be sporting feathers in the Spring? Where will Harry be in the Fall? And why will the queen be sitting in a deckchair in September? Here we guide you though the family's "must-do" dates, month by month.
Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps Have a Dawson's Creek Reunion at the Tonys
Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps stunned on Sunday night when they stepped out in New York City to attend the 70th annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre. The longtime friends, who costarred in Dawson's Creek from 2001 until 2003, hit the red carpet together, laughing and smiling while posing for pictures. Michelle looked gorgeous in a white dress while Busy looked adorable in a colorful, flower-printed gown.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've gotten a dose of nostalgia from the show in recent years. In addition to Joshua Jackson and James Van Der Beek (aka Dawson and Pacey) still hanging out, Katie Holmes talked about who was the best kisser during a cute appearance on The Late Late Show in February.
Kendall Jenner Will Make Fashion Girls Everywhere Want to Join the Mickey Mouse Club

The brand has tapped Mickey Mouse as the star of their coveted collection, and now pieces from the collaboration are being brought to life by It models Kendall Jenner, Taylor Hill, and Sara Sampaio.

When You Invite Queen Máxima Somewhere, You Bet She'll Dress For the Occasion
If there's one color that can be kinda tricky to pull off, that color is likely orange. Not only does it typically remind people of things like Halloween and pumpkins, it's safe to assume this bright hue will stand out in a sea of darker ensembles. But Queen Máxima is never one to shy away from a fashion dare, and during her tour of northwest Friesland, the royal opted to incorporate the country's official color into her outfit. For a visit to the Campus Middelsee, she opted to wear a tangerine dress, coordinating with matching accessories including her earrings and purse.
While in theory it sounds a bit like orange overload, Máxima manged to tone things down a bit with a beige hat, jacket, and pumps, thus turning the look chic and super fun. See her outfit in full ahead, then dare yourself to wear an orange dress this season.

Jamie completes her circular diamond and matching band with a gold Tacori ring that was handmade in LA, its shade adding extra spark to that bright stone. She doesn't always wear all three pieces together, oftentimes opting for just one sparkler at a time. But regardless of how many jewels she's got on, her wedding rings are a very versatile bunch. Just read on to see a few different looks that Jamie's shared on her feed.
