Justin Bieber Shows Off His New Tattoo During a Shirtless Jog in LA

It looks like Justin Bieber is getting a head start on his New Year's fitness resolution. On Tuesday, the "Let Me Love You" singer made the most of the warm LA weather by going for a shirtless jog. Justin showed off his chiseled abs and toned biceps as he hit the pavement in a pair of shorts and tights, but it was his new tattoo that really caught our eye. Inked between his chest and his six-pack abs are the words "Son of God." While it's unclear exactly when Justin got the tattoo, he debuted it during his concert in Italy back in November.

Alan Thicke passed away on Dec. 13 after suffering from a heart attack while playing hockey with his son, Carter, and now his wife, Tanya Callau, is speaking out for the first time about her husband's tragic death. On Tuesday, Tanya released a statement to People, saying, "It is with gut wrenching sadness and unbelievable grief that I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and support during this unimaginable time." "Through tears and smiles our dearest of family and friends came together at our home to celebrate the life of my sweet and devoted husband Alan Thicke."

Tanya - who married Alan in Mexico back in May 2005 - also revealed that she said her final goodbye at his memorial service on Monday, adding, "Yesterday, along with my step sons and our combined extended family, we laid my beloved husband, soul mate and the patriarch of our family to rest. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time of profound mourning." Tanya and the rest of her family have asked that donations be made in Alan's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, "a cause that he cared about deeply."

1 of the Most Romantic Moments in Passengers Turned Out to Be the Most Awkward

Passengers, the new space romance starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, hits theaters this Friday! We've been getting plenty of real-life delights from the costars during their worldwide press tour, including (but not limited to) some words of praise from Chris and a harrowing round of playground insults. At a recent press junket, though, we also got something else: a hilarious behind-the-scenes story! Read as the two recount their hilarious "sexy" blooper below.

POPSUGAR: What was a moment during filming that was supposed to be sexy but turned out really awkward?

Jennifer Lawrence: Probably when we tried to kiss after our first date. We were in our space suits, and we didn't realize that our spacesuits wouldn't allow us to do that. So the director called action and we just like - CLUNK - ran into each other.

Chris Pratt: Like two rams on a mountain top.

JL: My mouth was wide open.

CP: Wide-open concussion mouth. It was like, "Well, we better figure this out."

Shush While We Try to Figure Out Which Celebrities Jennifer Lawrence Is Talking Trash About

Jennifer Lawrence might be your fantasy best friend, but in reality, even she has a few people she's not too fond of. The Passengers star stopped by Watch What Happens Live! on Monday night along with her real-life BFF Laura, who host Andy Cohen pumped for dirt about who J Law can't stand in Hollywood. Although Laura didn't reveal too much, she gamely gave up the nicknames Jennifer has for some people. "The Lady," "The Raging Lady," "Pickle," and "The Lady in Red," are apparently the big ones. "The Lady" could be somebody British? Maybe "The Lady in Red" is a reference to a woman with red hair? As far as "Pickle" goes, though, we're all out of ideas.

Sofia Vergara's 2016 Red Carpet Looks Have 1 Thing in Common

This year, Modern Family's Sofia Vergara hasn't graced us with her style on too many red carpets - after a busy 2015 that involved getting married to Joe Manganiello and receiving a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, we only expected her to take it easy in 2016. But it doesn't really matter, because the appearances she has made have left a lasting mark.

The Colombian actress known for embracing and flaunting her curves, once again decided to stick to what she knows, choosing her favorite silhouette over and over again, wearing form-fitting mermaid gowns to award shows and hugging midi dresses for parties and movie premieres. We're not complaining - Sofia knows what works and there's no reason for her to stray too far from it. Keep reading to check out her sexiest red carpet looks of 2016 so far.

La La Land: Is That Really Ryan Gosling Playing the Piano?!

La La Land is the most enchanting movie of the year, but besides the singing and dancing, one particular element will dazzle you: Ryan Gosling's piano skills. He plays a struggling jazz purist in the film, and there are some musical scenes that may cause you to wonder if it's really Gosling playing, or a body double. Shocking as it may be, it's definitely Gosling playing the whole time!

"In fact, there's not a single close-up shot of [the character] Sebastian's hands in the entire movie that's a piano double," director Damian Chazelle said, at a press event for the movie. "It's all Ryan." Even John Legend, who has a smaller part in the film, was impressed: "I was jealous, man," he said. "Watching him play, I was like, 'Wow, this guy is really good and he just learned this in the last few months.' It's pretty amazing."

How is one person this talented?

A Cure For Wellness: This Deranged Trailer Will Make Your Skin Crawl

Gore Verbinski, the director best known for the 1997 family comedy Mousehunt (kidding, he directed The Ring and three of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies), has a new movie coming out and it looks straight-up terrifying. In A Cure For Wellness, Dane DeHaan plays an executive sent to bring his company's CEO back from a "wellness" retreat in the isolated Swiss Alps. As you might have put together, the retreat isn't relaxing so much as it is a living nightmare. Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs also star in the thriller, which may give you flashbacks to Shutter Island - and not just because of DeHaan's uncanny resemblance to young Leonardo DiCaprio. Check out the full trailer above and the teaser below; the movie opens on Feb. 17.

Iskra Lawrence Opens Up About Her Past and Reminds Us That We Are the Only Ones in Control of Our Lives

When Iskra Lawrence was just 16 years old, her modeling agency dropped her for being too curvy; now, at 26 years old, when we hear her name we immediately think of body positivity and confidence. For Iskra and many other women, her journey to feeling this way was tough, and now she's opening up about how she got to this place in her life in the January/February cover feature of SELF magazine.

The British model has gathered over 2.9 million Instagram followers thanks to her authenticity and genuine ability to keep it real, all while radiating sexiness and humor. When she stripped down to her bra and underwear on a New York City subway to spread a message about vulnerability, it didn't matter that she wasn't wearing clothes because everyone was blown away by her message. Iskra tried every diet under the sun when she was younger, but eventually realized she wanted to embrace being different in the modeling industry, and that's when her message spread like wildfire.

"Once I convinced myself I could do this, I was able to convince them," she told SELF, referring to modeling agencies. "I saw it as a way to express myself and show that I'm more than a set of measurements." Iskra jokes about her "tiger stripe stretch marks" and "cellulite lightning bolts," but above all of that, she's changing the lives of so many women.

From her appreciation for McDonald's to her ability to control her own future, Iskra is telling all, and it's motivating us to bring on 2017 with confidence, humor, and an unwavering feeling of self-love. Keep reading to see everything Iskra had to say about her journey and the amazing ways she's transformed.

The Story of Harry Potter's Invisibility Cloak May Be WAY Darker Than We Thought

For many Harry Potter fans, one of the most iconic parts of the entire series is the "Tale of the 3 Brothers," a supposed legend from The Tales of Beedle the Bard that has very real implications for Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The tale of Cadmus, Ignotus, and Antioch Peverell's quest to defy death turns out to be real, inspiring Lord Voldemort to seek out their famed possessions: three gifts from Death called the Deathly Hallows. Luckily for Harry, he already owns one (the invisibility cloak) as a distant descendant of the Peverell clan.

As intriguing as the story is, one Reddit user's dark theory about the Deathly Hallows adds another element of mystery to the Peverell legend.

The Perevell Brothers [theory] [spoilers] from harrypotter

The theory - which purports that perhaps the three brothers were necromancers summoning the dead - establishes the idea that the three hallows are bits of Death's own arsenal, intended to curse the men who strove to bridge the gap between life and death. The Elder Wand is a bit of Death itself, which can summon immediate death through the killing curse. The Resurrection Stone is part of the arch that holds the veil of Death. And the Cloak of Invisibility is a bit of the veil itself, the gateway through which the dead pass. Sound familiar?

Harry himself sees this archway of death with his own eyes, theorizes the Redditor, in the Department of Mysteries during Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He hears the whispers of the dead through the arch and witnesses his godfather Sirius pass from the side of the living over to the side of the dead. His possession of the invisibility cloak could explain why he is able to hear these whispers at all and why he is so intently drawn to the Veil of Death during his time in the Department of Mysteries. If he truly bridges the gap between life and death, it means that Harry isn't fully alive.

What do you think about this theory? Could Harry's ownership of the cloak mean that he bridges the gap between death and life? Let us know in the comments!

Pentatonix Take Us to Church With Their Christmas Cover of "O Come, All Ye Faithful"

Pentatonix is pulling out all the stops this holiday season. Aside from hosting their very own Christmas special, the a cappella group has been dropping some pretty catchy covers from their album, A Pentatonix Christmas, and their latest video will definitely get your toe tapping. In true Petatonix form, the video starts out with some side-by-side images of the group as Kevin Olusola puts down a sick beat. As the tempo picks up though, the group proceeds to take us to church (literally) with a full choir. One thing is for sure: their Christmas covers always seem to fill our hearts with so much cheer.

You Won't Have to Look at Shay Mitchell's Swimsuit Long to Notice This Detail

Once the temperature dips below a certain degree, we get the urge to travel - preferably to a warm, sunny location, where we can rock a swimsuit instead of a puffed-up parka. Shay Mitchell is likely feeling the same, as the star 'grammed a throwback pic of herself in a Positino, Italy, shower, showing off white shades and a stylish green one-piece. The photo made us feel a tad emotional - oh, how we miss those beach-ready days! - but we still "oohed" and "ahhed" over Shay's sexy swimwear, which included fun cutout details on the back and side.

Yet while the weather (especially on the East Coast) isn't exactly appropriate for this type of get-up, the color choice couldn't be more perfect. With the holidays coming up, green pieces are a definite must, and Shay's little snap is a great reminder to start scooping 'em up. Scroll through to see Shay's suit once more, then shop something inspired by it - both for vacation and not - ahead.

29 Pictures That Prove Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps Will Stand the Test of Time

Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps have a friendship that has spanned nearly 20 years - which is like a century in Hollywood years. The two met while starring on Dawson's Creek together in the early 2000s and have cultivated an inspiring, supportive, and long-lasting bond. Busy is the godmother of Michelle's daughter, Matilda, from her marriage to Heath Ledger, and most recently she was accompanied by her BFF at a screening for her new film Manchester by the Sea. Michelle told reporters of Busy, "I'm so in love with her. She's proof that the love of your life does not have to be a man! That's the love of my life right there." Awww! Prepare to smile (and feel nostalgic) as you look back on photos of their friendship.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Visit Sick Kids Dressed Up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are getting in the Christmas spirit by spreading holiday cheer. On Monday, the couple - who will be celebrating one year together in January - visited the Children's Hospital Los Angeles dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus for a day of fun with the patients. The duo posed for a handful of sweet photos with kids, and Katy and Orlando even sang a few Christmas songs. One of the patient's parents shared a photo from the visit on Instagram, writing, "Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom came and sang us Christmas carols. It was so beautiful. I'm so very thankful and we got news we get to go home tomorrow." Their heartwarming visit comes less than a month after Katy was honored with the Audrey Hepburn humanitarian award for her work as UNICEF's goodwill ambassador, an award that Orlando received last year.

I'm Crying Laughing at This Messed-Up Trailer For The Mummy

To be perfectly honest, I'm excited about The Mummy reboot, but even if I wasn't, this trailer is hilarious. Earlier this month, Universal Pictures released the official trailer, but the IMAX account accidentally uploaded the wrong cut - one without half the sound. While they deleted it almost immediately, some hero saved it and posted it and posted it again. The slow grunts of Tom Cruise bouncing around a flailing aircraft make my heart sing. Annabelle Wallis's mouse-like squeak as she's ejected from the plane means today is going to be a good day. This whole thing is a gift.

Rare GIF of a Dying Star Will Make You Rethink Your Existence

The Hubble Telescope recently celebrated its 26th birthday, and in those years it has given us an incredible look at the vast world we live in. Case in point: a rare peek at a dying star.

From 2002 to 2006, Hubble captured close-up images of an enormous star named V838 Moncerotis, which sits 20,000 light-years away from Earth. Back then, the star emitted a powerful flash of light that illuminated the dust and gas that surrounded it.

"Hubble's exceptionally sharp focus of V838 Mon offered a ring-side seat at the slow death of the star and excited astrophysicists with the chance to study the physics of the light, matter and microscopic dust of the interstellar medium," writes The Conversation, which offers more details about the life of the star and the cause of that light flash.

Below you can see a time-lapse video of the photos taken by the Hubble. Looks fake, doesn't it?

Gordon Ramsay's Scotch Egg Recipe Has a Secret Ingredient You'd Never Guess

Gordon Ramsay shared his recipe for Scotch eggs "with a twist," and it's one you'll want to bookmark for later. Traditionally, a Scotch egg - like the Scotch egg from My Name Is Yeh, pictured above, is a hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage and deep-fried with a crunchy breadcrumb exterior. Gordon's take on the recipe does involve traditional ingredients like panko breadcrumbs and ground sausage, but there is one surprising ingredient you wouldn't expect: black pudding. If you're unfamiliar with black pudding, it's a type of blood sausage that's common in parts of Europe. And Gordon adds a generous amount to his sausage mixture to "make mine a little bit spicier" - hence the "twist" in his Scotch egg.

"I'm going to crumble in black pudding. That helps to season the Scotch eggs inside," Gordon says in the video above. Watching the step-by-step tutorial from Gordon will convince you that making this seemingly complicated egg dish is a lot easier than it looks. As the video's caption suggests, "Organization is the key with Scotch eggs; a little care makes it all worth it." In addition to the black pudding, Gordon adds one more uncommon ingredient that makes a difference in flavor: apple. He adds a handful of grated green apple "just to make it a little bit sweeter and a lot easier for the kids to eat." Get Gordon's full instructions in his YouTube video above, and impress your friends and family with this elevated British dish.

It seems like no one can get enough of red wine, scientists included; every day there seems to be another study touting the amazing benefits of the plum-colored beverage. Lucky for us, the proof is in the long-stemmed glass (just one, since drinking more may be detrimental to your health). Here are five reasons unwinding with a glass of red after a long day should be on your list of to-dos - one reason for every workday!

  1. It's good for your heart: Antioxidants in red wine called flavonoids have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) levels and increasing the production of good cholesterol. According to researchers at the University of California, Davis, certain varietals have more concentrations of flavonoids than others. Of the most common red varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon has the most flavonoids, followed closely by Petite Sirah and Pinot Noir, then Merlot and Red Zinfandel.
  2. It can lower depression: While heavy drinking has been linked to mental health problems, drinking a glass of red wine a day may do the opposite. A recent study found that moderate drinkers (those who drank two to seven small glasses of wine a week) were less likely to suffer from depression than those who drank more or less.
  3. It can help your gut: That morning bowl of Greek yogurt isn't the only thing that's helping your gut. A study found that drinking red wine increases the amount of good bacteria levels in your digestive tract.
  1. It may help you lose fat: New research is studying the effects of piceatannol, a compound found in red wine that is converted from the antioxidant resveratrol, has on fat. A recent lab study found that piceatannol blocks fat cells from forming, and more studies are looking at how the compound can help us slim down.
  2. It can improve memory: Polyphenols, also found in tea, nuts, berries, and cocoa, can improve your memory and may also decrease the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

We Will Soon Know Exactly What Zac Efron Smells Like

Zac Efron, if you're reading this, we just want to know where you spritz cologne. It may not be appropriate request (for the record, we ask women the same question all of the time). But it's just more fun to envision you misting yourself (and your six-pack) in a halo of musk.

When we learned the news that you'd be the new face of Hugo Boss Fragrances, we were pretty jazzed. In the press release, you are described as "the ultimate embodiment of millennial masculinity." Kudos to the Coty copywriting team for that one!

While details about the 2017 campaign are still being kept a secret, you can watch a behind-the-scenes tease at Cosmo.com.

Mom's Rant About a Themed Week at Her Kids' School Is the Laugh You Need Today

"I don't understand what is going on," says Melissa Radke, a mom of two, as she begins a hysterical rant about a themed week at her kids' school. In the video, she flashes a sheet of paper about "Red Ribbon Week," which outlines what children should wear to school each day of the special week. The week's goal "is to encourage children of all ages to be drug-free throughout their lives," but Radke says, "That is a lie. That is not the goal - the goal is to drive moms crazy with different outfits every day."

The hilarious mom continues, walking us through each day of the week, outlining why she feels that this outfit plan isn't necessarily an effective way to teach our kids to be drug-free while simultaneously relating to every parent of a child in public school. "'Thursday: don't let drugs find you - wear camo.' The problem is that people who wear camo are not invisible. They're not. So I feel perhaps that drugs could still find you because it doesn't make you an invisible person."

Her quick-witted rant is just the laugh we needed today - watch it in full above.

1 Way to Hit Your Weight-Loss Resolution Every Month

The weight-loss goal is easily the most popular New Year's resolution of all time. Gyms flood in January, and markets are cleared out of their healthy staples like kale and quinoa. Then sometime around early February, no one remembers what a New Year's resolution even is, let alone what they're doing for their weight-loss goals.

The best way to approach this? Make yourself a strategy. Use one of these tips for each month of the year and fill out your calendar for 2017 with what you plan to do, January through December. These weight-loss tips have been proven to be effective - and they're impossibly simple to implement.

One month you'll be drinking more water, and the next trying new veggie recipes - but the common theme throughout the year is that you'll be hitting your weight-loss goals. Try these 12 tips in 2017 to have your most successful year yet . . . and don't forget about that gym membership you paid all that money for!

  1. Join a gym (or a boutique studio that you love): One of the first steps to moving more is committing yourself to a routine. Whether this is your local gym, or a yoga studio near your office, make it convenient. You won't go if it's too far away or has crazy hours that don't work with your schedule. Also, ensure that you love the style of exercise if it's a studio - you also won't go if you hate the workout!
  2. Get a tracker: Like a Fitbit or an Apple Watch, specifically! These trackers serve as constant reminders that you need to move more. You'll get little vibrations and notifications telling you to stand and move - some even tell you to run! Like tying a string around your finger to remind you of a task, these trackers go with you everywhere to remind you to make healthier choices.
  3. Try a new workout: Mixing it up is often the key to success - especially if you've hit a plateau. Challenge your body in new ways by trying a workout you've never done before. One month, pick this new activity you're interested in, and stick it out for the whole four weeks. Do it regularly, even if it's a challenge. Not only will you learn a new skill and mix things up for your body, but you'll feel stronger and more empowered, too.
  4. Try four new veggie recipes: Adding more vegetables to your diet is essential to weight loss. Find the ones you actually love, and your favorite way to prepare them so you can fall back on your own staple healthy recipe all year long. Not a fan of brussels sprouts? Try a zucchini recipe. Keep going until you find what you love.
  5. Add a vegetable to every meal: We spoke with one woman who told us this was one of the keys to her success - and she lost over 100 pounds! Adding something green to each meal (yes, even breakfast!) will help you get the nutrients you need all day long and create better, long-lasting, healthy habits.
  6. Cut out sugar for one week: Longer if you can! If you find that you're totally addicted to sugar, that can be a major obstacle in your weight-loss journey. Set aside a week to eliminate processed and added sugars - natural sugar is OK! If you can keep going, aim for three weeks; that's how long it'll take you to really break a habit.
  7. Learn how to count macros . . . and track them for one week to start: Macros are the fats, protein, and carbohydrates in your diet - and the way you balance them can help you lose weight. Start with recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to get a better idea of what your food can look like with macro counting.
  8. Drink a glass of water before every meal: Did you know that our brains often confuse thirst for hunger? Drinking more water - especially before meals - can help control appetite and help you lose weight.
  9. Get eight hours of sleep every night: Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak listed sleep as a massive component to weight-loss success. You'll have more energy for your workouts and more alertness to make better dietary choices.
  10. Eat more (healthy) breakfasts: Make it your goal to always eat a healthy breakfast, but one month this year, learn a new breakfast recipe, and make it at least twice a week. Breakfast can kickstart your metabolism, curb a sweet tooth, and control appetite - all leading to weight loss!
  11. Practice mindful eating: Slow down, pause, put your fork down between bites. If overeating or eating too quickly has been a challenge for you, this is an essential practice to take up. Choose a month to practice your mindful eating with every single meal. You might be able to stop food cravings for good!
  12. Focus on digestion: Take one month to focus on digestion-friendly foods (lots of fiber!), probiotics, and even a digestion-aiding practice like acupuncture or traditional Chinese medicine. By keeping things regular, you'll feel better, lighter, and slimmer.

How to Get Yourself to Eat When You Emotionally Don't Feel Like It

People tend to forget or neglect eating when going through emotional strain. Our friends at YourTango share their story on how to stay away from going on the "Divorce Diet".

I know I'm not your mother, but you HAVE to eat.

Even though my ex-husband and I knew divorcing was the best answer for resolving our issues, actually going through and getting over it was one of the most difficult experiences I have had. The transition was so painful I sometimes wondered if I would ever be happy again. Was I losing my mind?

My misery was so profound that I plunged into the depths of depression and anxiety. I had difficulty sleeping, making decisions, and eating. I had so much trouble eating that I took that urban legend, the divorce diet, to the extreme - I became anorexic.

When I look back at that time in my life, I feel tremendous compassion for the woman I was then.

She felt so lost, afraid, and out of control of her circumstances that I understand why she chose not to eat. It seemed like an appropriate choice.

There was the constant nausea.

There was the fear of gaining weight (and thereby becoming even more unlovable than she already felt).

There was the fear of spending money on food when there were so many other expenses breathing down her neck.

And then there was the sense of control that came with choosing not to eat.

From my vantage point today, I realize that choosing not to eat, or at times simply forgetting to eat, made getting through my divorce far more difficult than it needed to be.

Food has a direct impact on our ability to think. By starving my body, I was also starving my mind. Not eating exacerbated my difficulty making good decisions and added to the stress and anxiety I experienced every single day.

It's a vicious cycle that many people who divorce get trapped in. The depression, stress, and anxiety of divorce are typical appetite killers, and yet, the divorce diet only increases the negative impact of those emotional states.

The good news is that I eventually broke the cycle, and you can too, by following these 3 simple tips:

1. Ignore your instincts about eating.

You've probably lost your appetite somewhere along your journey through divorce. It's time to start using some logic.

Choose to eat something at regular intervals throughout the day instead of relying on whether you're feeling hungry. Consider setting daily alarms to remind yourself to eat.

2. Make eating easy for yourself.

Have simple foods like nuts, fruit, protein/nutrition bars, cans of soup, and frozen meals on hand so that finding something to eat is a non-issue.

Eating out is another option to keep mealtimes simple.

3. Use meals to build - and even rebuild - social connections.

The pain of divorce is terribly isolating and the loneliness is profound. Grabbing a bite is an easy excuse to get together with friends and family so you can connect with them.

The connections over meals can have a soothing effect well beyond that offered by the food you consume.

These steps work.

They're the exact steps I followed to break out of my extreme version of the divorce diet. They'll work for you, too.

It took me a while to get all three steps down, and I was far from perfect as I implemented them.

I started with ignoring my instincts about eating and just ate whenever the clock hit certain times. I ate whatever was easy (a bag of chips, a cookie, a protein bar, a banana) without much regard to nutritional value.

After I got used to eating again, I realized that although I felt better, I still felt like crap. I was eating too much junk food and not enough real food. That's when I started making sure I had simple, healthier food available.

Planning my meals made a HUGE difference.

Eating helped my ability to deal with my divorce. My thoughts were clearer, and with improved clarity, I realized that building connections with my family and friends over mealtimes was a great way to get out of the house. I learned how to think about other things and not hyper-focus my problems. Learning how to refocus helped me move on with my life.

Divorce is a difficult life transition, but you can ease your way through.

Just remember to eat.
