Let's Talk About How It's Not Over Between Jess and Rory on Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is bittersweet for Team Jess fans. On the bitter side, Milo Ventimiglia gets precious little screen time - he doesn't even show up until the third episode - and when he finally does appear, it's almost like the writers forgot Rory and Jess were ever a thing. Rory doesn't even hug him when she sees him for the first time in at least four years! By the time Fall came around, I'd given up hope that there would be any hint of romance between Rory and Jess, even though we do learn that Jess is still available, unlike Dean and Logan (not that Logan's engagement stops Rory from going for him, but that's another story).
But like I said, it's bittersweet, and the sweetness comes in that final episode. In the last scene that Jess appears in, he's leaving the Gilmore house and talking to Luke on the porch when Rory excitedly shows Jess the first three chapters she's written for her book. (It's nothing earth-shattering, but at least she actually makes physical contact with him.) But it's what happens next that really counts: Luke asks Jess point blank if he's still into Rory, and while Jess says that's "long over," he then proceeds to look into the window at Rory in a very obvious announcement to the audience that Jess still has feelings for her.
While it may not seem like much, that moment actually speaks volumes. First of all, the writers definitely did not have to end Jess's story that way; they just as easily could have given Jess a serious girlfriend, or simply left Jess and Rory as friends (and um, step-cousins). But the door for that relationship was very intentionally left open, meaning that of all of Rory's love interests, Jess has the best chance of actually ending up with her. Plus, if the series is coming full circle with Rory being pregnant, then Rory becomes the new Lorelai, and Logan is the new Christopher, leaving Jess as the new Luke, and more importantly, the right one for Rory. Kind of poetic, isn't it?

The Harry Potter Fan Theory That J.K. Rowling Finds "Strangely Upsetting"
While J.K. Rowling typically entertains - or just doesn't acknowledge - circulating Harry Potter fan theories, she has some pretty strong feelings about a recent one involving Dumbledore and horcruxes.
One of the YouTube vloggers behind SuperCarlinBrothers, Jonathan Carlin, recently fleshed out a theory that Professor Dumbledore's animal companion, Fawkes, was actually a horcrux - implying that the greatest wizard of all time dabbled in dark magic.
Per Rowling's universe, horcruxes are created to attain immortality. However, they also involve murdering someone else in order to make one. This theory posits that though Dumbledore didn't deliberately murder anyone, he did still harbor guilt over the death of his sister, which he ultimately blamed himself for. Since Dumbledore pinned his sister's murder on his own neglect, he theoretically had a chance to perform dark magic and create a horcrux. You can watch a video about the theory below.
Though Carlin makes a strong case for this theory, Rowling straight up denied it when it was brought to her attention on Twitter - and even went so far as to call it "upsetting."

As other people on Twitter noted, Dumbledore didn't fear death and therefore did not desire immortality. His incomparable goodness also makes it really hard to believe that he would do something so evil in nature. Luckily, we can all let out a sigh of relief and thank Rowling for at least acknowledging this troubling one.

These Crucial Rogue One Scenes Were in the Trailers, but Not the Final Film
If you've already seen Rogue One, the latest addition to the Star Wars universe, chances are a few things have happened. On one hand, you're probably freaking out over all the exceptional goodies featured in the film. I mean, between the inclusion of Darth Vader, the cameo appearance by R2-D2 and C-3PO, and the remarkable digital rendering of Peter Cushing, it's hard not to be utterly delighted. And don't even get us started on that surprise cameo at the end. With all the excitement and intergalactic magic that so seamlessly ties right into A New Hope, though, we have a bone to pick. It all ties back to the first looks we got of the film.
If you're like us, you'll remember that there were quite a few extensive trailers for the film, each of which we may or may not have watched dozens of times. After seeing the movie, it's become painfully obvious that a ton of the footage we saw in advance didn't even make it into the final cut of the film. These are no small omissions, either. Before we delve into what could have been, someone has graciously made a supercut of every shot that's missing in the movie. Check it out below.
To me, the most striking exclusion from the film is that haunting quote from Saw Gerrera. "What will you do when they catch you? What will you do if they break you?" he asks. "If you continue to fight, what will you become?" The sentiment seems to feed heavily into one of the most prominent themes in the Star Wars universe: that there's a lot of gray area between good and evil, that the Dark Side has a strong pull, and that the good guys don't always stay good. In fact, this quote was so impactful, it fueled one huge theory: that Jyn Erso could become Captain Phasma. By now, having seen the film, we know Jyn does not become Captain Phasma. With such heavy hinting in the trailers, it's pretty disappointing that all of the vague foreshadowing has been unraveled.
There's something else that's particularly compelling: it seems there's an alternate ending hidden within the trailers as well. In one scene, Jyn Erso and Captain Cassian are running on the beach, and Jyn has the plans for the Death Star in hand. In another shot, Lieutenant Krennic strolls along the beach with his white cape flapping magnificently behind him. In one more, a TIE fighter stands between Jyn and the satellite controls.
In the final cut of Rogue One, we get a much different final sequence. Jyn makes it to the controls uninterrupted, and Krennic intercepts her on her way back. Cassian puts him out of commission up on the tower, and he and Jyn barely make it down to the ground before the planet explodes. Was there another version of the final sequence where Jyn and Cassian and Krennic take their chase down to the beach? Is it possible there was an alternate version in which some of the Rogue One rebels survive? It seems the speculation will have to remain that way for now. Even so, we can't help but wonder what secrets may come to light as time goes on.

These 4 Disney World Restaurants Are Adding Alcohol to Their Menus
Disney-loving adults, rejoice! Four restaurants at Disney World's Magic Kingdom will begin offering alcohol on Dec. 23, the Orlando Sentinel reports. The lucky restaurants include Tony's Town Square Restaurant, Liberty Tree Tavern, Skipper Canteen, and Cinderella's Royal Table, all of which will start serving beer and wine, just in time for Christmas. This long-awaited announcement comes after the theme park broke its dry spell in 2012 with the introduction of alcohol at its Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant, Be Our Guest. Since then, the only other addition has been the Coca-Cola-inspired alcoholic beverages that became available at a store in Disney Springs in July 2016.
The drinks offered will go along with each restaurant's theme and food options: Tony's Town Square, an Italian eatery, will offer Italian beers and wines, such as Chianti Superiore, whereas Cinderella's Royal Table, a destination for truly special occasions, will have champagne and sparkling wine on its menu. This is just another reason to travel to Disney World for the holidays, as if we even needed an excuse in the first place. Bill Gates just made this Christmas very special for Reddit user Aerrix. As a participant of the RedditGifts Secret Santa Christmas exchange, Bill Gates sent the unsuspecting woman a delivery with tons of epic gifts inside to make up for her horrible gift exchange experience last year when she was left hanging after another Reddit user never sent her any gifts.
Aerrix says she arrived home after shipping off her Secret Santa gift this year and found a FedEx delivery tag left on her door. She called the delivery service and asked if the delivery could be reshipped, and, to her surprise, 15 minutes later the "giant box" was back at her doorstep. She explained,
"So then I get the box open and there's just bubble wrap EVERYWHERE, but under the first layer I see a picture . . . and my jaw. Just. Drops. I will let the picture speak for itself! I immediately call my husband at work, I normally text him first to make sure it's ok if I call but I couldn't wait . . . he answered and I spoke very quietly because I knew if I didn't I would just yell, and I said something like 'dear, please tell me you can talk right now,' and he sounded worried and he's like 'yes? What's going on?' And I said BILL GATES IS MY FREAKIN SANTA!!!!!!!! I worried him too much, it took a second for it to sink in but oh MAN I was excited and flipping out! 3 tablespoons meringue powder

This New Beauty Site Will Save You Tons of Money in 2017
Marcia Kilgore is well-versed in launching revolutionary companies, but her newest venture may just change the beauty world forever.
The entrepreneur founded a string of household name brands - Bliss, FitFlop, Soap & Glory - before moving on to Beauty Pie, a new subscription service that calls itself "makeup without the markup."
The concept is simple, but genius: Kilgore works with the chemists and manufacturers behind prestige companies and has them create formulas for Beauty Pie. If you sign up for a $10/monthly (or $120/annually) subscription, you'll get access to these beauty products at factory price. For example, a Beauty Pie volumizing mascara would cost you $24 if you bought it without subscribing, but if you are a member, you'll only pay $2(!).
This concept was born out of her own work with beauty suppliers, which she missed after selling her last company. "I would get to leave with a huge bag of products to test, which was thrilling," Kilgore told POPSUGAR via email. "I would then stumble into a cosmetics shop in the airport or train station on my way home, and think, 'Whoa, I am glad I don't have to pay retail for my cosmetics!' There was this idea to make that thrilling 'kid in a candy store' feeling available to every woman."
Kilgore hopes that Beauty Pie will appeal to the beauty junkie who has a love of the deluxe, but is trying to cut back on how much they spend. She looked at brands like Everlane, Spotify, and Netflix for inspiration, which all offer transparent pricing and convenience.
Beauty Pie's transparent pricing comes from the lack of markup that goes into each product. Think about your favorite designer makeup brand: the sheer prestige behind the label is mostly to blame for the expensive cost. Meanwhile, the manufacturers behind that pricey item likely also produce drugstore makeup.
"Most brands do not have their own factories, but rather source their products from outside factories," Kilgore explained. "For example, Tesco sources from the same makeup factory as Charlotte Tilbury."
Another expensive characteristic of high-end cosmetics is the fancy packaging. "In a lot of cases, the packaging costs more than the product, and it isn't recyclable and it ends up in landfills," said Kilgore. Not so with Beauty Pie. The brand is taking luxury formulas from the best factories around the world and then packaging them in minimalist but chic tubes.
"We are trying to minimize the impact of our use and love of cosmetics on landfills," said Kilgore. Her team hopes to work toward developing cosmetics packaging that is more recyclable as well as aesthetically pleasing (a rare feat in today's product development landscape).
Beauty Pie just launched in December 2016, but the brand will be rolling out tools in January, then moving on to skin care in April. Kilgore is starting with "incredible Swiss formulations" for this category and has tapped labs in South Korea, Japan, France, and more clear complexion hubs around the world for future launches.
"We are literally launching 365 new makeup products next year alone," revealed Kilgore, "So there's going to be a lot for her to choose from . . . a cornucopia of cosmetics."
