YouTube Star Kandee Johnson Reveals Details About Her SinfulColors Nail Polish Collab
Vlogger Kandee Johnson is known for personally trying out every transformation imaginable - from Kris Jenner to Effie Trinket. But this Winter, she's offering you a way to revamp something that requires minimal commitment and skills: your nails.
Kandee teamed up with SinfulColors (the same brand that worked with Kylie Jenner on a lacquer line) to release a 24-piece collection. There are two lines, Pretty Vintage (featuring matte and "sugar" textures) and Vintage Anime. Everything launches this month for a limited time through April at drugstores like Walgreens and Walmart, for $2-$3 per bottle. The shade range is as bright, trendy, and textured as you'd expect from a colorful personality like Kandee.
"We wanted it to be like a vintage, Candyland," Kandee told POPSUGAR via email. "Fun, dreamy, candy shop colors with a mix of vintage velvety [textures], like old matte hot rods. They wanted it to be about colors I love. We used everything from pictures of vintage decorations I liked to patterns and prints. We even looked at pictures of things I like, such as my jewelry, closet, and house. Since I love sugared everything, they created a 'sugared' finish that literally looks like colored sugar on your nails!"
Though Kandee is mostly known for makeup, nail polish is still an essential category to her. She said, "I've loved nail polish and nail art for years. I actually did some of my first nail art video back in '09. It was how to do zebra print and leopard print on your nails. Nail polish and designs are so much fun, and they're an extra way to express your creativity and style. Even when you wash your makeup off and change out of your outfit, your nails are still there to look at and think, 'oh they look fun!'"
The vlogger also described her method as perfectionism, so she was truly hands-on when creating the range. "I'm so glad they love me, and I didn't drive them nuts with my perfectionism and millions of emails and texts and the slightest changes - from the shape of the sticker to fonts to hues of the polish and last-minute polish name changes."

Camila Cabello's Thoughts on Harmonizers and Social Media Will Break Your Heart
Camila Cabello knows a thing or two about the crazed fandoms that have become synonymous with the so-called postmillennial generation. Just before her final performance as a member of Fifth Harmony, Camila appeared on Lena Dunham's Women of the Hour podcast to candidly chat about her impassioned fans, The X Factor's audition process, and the drawbacks of being in a group - which have now dramatically come to light.
At the top of the interview, Camila detailed her life before The X Factor and her stunted expectations of stardom. She said, "I wasn't raised to become a part of the entertainment industry . . . I came from Miami - completely Cuban family. We immigrated from Cuba when I was, like, 6 years old. Nobody thought there was a plausible shot or chance at having success."
Then came the show that changed it all. Surprisingly, Camila said she was initially chosen as an "alternate," thus, her status was still uncertain. Camila, however, wasn't ready to walk away from the opportunity. She explained, "For two days, I was about to go audition and they would tell me, 'You can't audition. You might as well just go home,'" adding, "But I ended up auditioning, because they saw how badly I wanted it and how persistent I was. It's a Cuban thing."

On the topic of Fifth Harmony's insane fandom, Camila was honest about oftentimes feeling overwhelmed by overzealous Harmonizers. "Even though I tweet and I go on social media and I post, I don't go on it as much as I used to because I'm a Pisces and I'm too sensitive for that," she said, adding, "If I see one comment, I'll just be thinking about it for a long time. I can't handle that. It's hard enough for anybody to figure out who they are . . . it's hard to do that with a thousand opinions in your head."
As Harmonizers process Camila's departure from the group, she appears to be readying herself for a solo career. Though this interview took place before she officially left Fifth Harmony, Camila spoke about finding her own voice within the group. She said, "Creativity and me writing in hotel bathrooms for the whole time that we were touring became a necessity." Although she said she now cringes over many of the songs she wrote as a teenager, she still finds them invaluable to her growth as an artist within her own right.

This Is the Stupidest Mistake You Can Make at Trader Joe's
It's hard to go wrong at Trader Joe's with so many solid and affordable options, but there is one mistake you could be making without even realizing it. If you're not asking to try products before you buy them, you could end up wasting a lot of money on groceries in the long run. Yep, that's right - Trader Joe's has a "try before you buy" policy! In addition to its generous return policy, the store has a policy that allows customers to try just about anything that they're unsure about buying. This includes snacks, produce, and ready-made foods like salads, sushi, and cheese.
I spoke to an employee at my local store and he confirmed that the only foods not included are raw or frozen foods (that require cooking) and alcohol (of course). This is not to say that you should be the annoying person who asks to try 20 things every time you shop there, but it means you should totally ask an employee to open up any new Trader Joe's products you're eyeing, like dark chocolate mango sorbet bon bons or sweet sriracha bacon jerky. It's not likely that your bill will be superhigh anyway, but this is another way to save money at Trader Joe's, and honestly, it's just another reason to love the store.

As a mom of three, Ryshell Castleberry knows just how much effort mothers dedicate to their families. Unfortunately, she also knows how many people underestimate the work they do depending on their job title.
As a tribute to stay-at-home moms, Ryshell shared a buzzy post on Facebook that is still being applauded by those who understand that a hard day of work isn't limited to a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. Although her message might be a bit over-the-top, it gets the important point across by recounting a hypothetical conversation between a close-minded husband (H) and a psychologist (P).
Q: what do you do for a living Mr. Rogers?
H: I work as an accountant in a bank.
P: Your wife?
H: She doesn't work. She's a housewife.
Q: Who makes breakfast for your family?
H: My wife, because she doesn't work
Q: What time does your wife wake?
H: She wakes up early because it has to be organized. She organizes the lunch for the children, ensures that they are well dressed and combed, if they had breakfast, if they brush their teeth and take all their school supplies. She wakes with the baby and changes diapers and clothes. Breastfeeds and makes snacks as well.
Q: How do your children get to school?
H: My wife takes them to school, because she doesn't work.
P: After taking their children to school, what does she do?
H: Usually takes a while to figure something out that she can do while she is out, so she doesn't have to pack and unpack the car seat too many times, like drop off bills or to make a stop at the supermarket. Sometimes she forgets something and has to make the trip all over again, baby in tow. Once back home, she has to feed the baby lunch and breastfeed again, get the baby's diaper changed and ready for a nap, sort the kitchen and then will take care of laundry and cleaning of the house. You know, because she doesn't work.
P: In the evening, after returning home from the office, what are you doing?
H: Rest, of course. Well, I'm tired after working all day in the bank.
Q: What does your wife do at night?
H: She makes dinner, serves my children and I, washes the dishes, orders once more the house, makes sure the dog is put away as well as any left over dinner. After helping children with HW she gets them prepared to sleep in pajamas and the baby is in fresh diapers, gives warm milk, verifies they brush their teeth. Once in bed she wakes frequently to continue to breastfeed and possibly change a diaper if needed while we rest. Because she doesn't have to get up for work.
Ryshell dedicated her insightful post to all of the women who give their lives for the welfare of their families. "The woman is like salt: Her presence is not remembered, but its absence makes everything left without flavor," she wrote. She hopes to inspire others to both celebrate and appreciate the women in their lives because she explains that being a housewife has no diplomas yet the yet sacrifice is priceless.

Research Suggests Taking Heartburn Meds While Pregnant Could Lead to Asthma in Children
Heartburn can be common during pregnancy, but one study is now reporting that taking medication to treat acid reflux and heartburn while pregnant may not be as safe as we previously believed. A new study, which was published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, recently found that children whose mothers took acid-blocking drugs during pregnancy were at least a third more likely to show symptoms of asthma, a potentially fatal condition.
Although we previously thought drugs to treat these conditions were safe for the development of the baby, the study suggests otherwise. Researchers at the universities of Edinburgh and Tampere in Finland explored eight previous studies, which followed over 1.3 million children and monitored the affect these drugs had on their immune systems.
"We don't yet know if the heartburn medication itself is contributing to the development of asthma in children or if there is a common factor we haven't discovered yet that causes both heartburn in pregnant women and asthma in their children," said Dr. Samantha Walker, director of policy and research at Asthma UK. "The study points us towards something that needs further investigation, which is why we need to see more research carried out into the causes of asthma, a condition that affects 5.4 million people in the UK alone."
This research is still in its very early stages, so experts recommend that expectant moms talk to their doctors about the risks of heartburn drugs if they're concerned, or before making any changes to their routine acid reflux treatment.

On his official adoption day, Jessica Cunha wants her son Benjamin to know not only how much he is loved by her and the rest of his forever family, but how much his birth parents love him - present tense. In a post shared on Frank Somerville's Facebook page, Jessica explains that she wants Benjamin to know that he "wasn't a mistake or unwanted," but that he was "handpicked" just for them.
