If You Have Allergies or Sensitive Skin, You Need to Know About This Major Beauty News

If you've ever passed the time in a shower by reading your shampoo's ingredient label, you might have wondered, "What is fragrance?" That catchall term isn't as simple as it appears. Brands aren't required to list the specific components that go into a product's scent, as revealing those ingredients could expose trade secrets. However, the consequences of this range from frustrating to downright dangerous.

For example, exposing skin to citrus oils (even though these are natural ingredients!) can lead to phytophotodermatitis, a form of skin irritation caused when the oil comes in contact with light. Many synthetic fragrances trigger migraines and allergies. But most disturbing, that umbrella term of "fragrance" can be hiding parabens, phthalates, and petrochemicals. These ingredients known as hormone-disrupting chemicals that have potential links to cancer and infertility.

In the name of transparency, one of the beauty industry's biggest corporations, Unilever, unveiled plans to fully disclose all of the fragrance ingredients used in its products. This major move lead not only to more informed shoppers, but also to more discerning and curious consumers. (As a reminder, Unilever owns household brands like Dove, Trésemme, Pond's, St. Ives, Axe, and Vaseline.)

The company will be teaming up with SmartLabel to expand its brands' product ingredient lists to include their specific fragrance components. This project should be complete by the end of 2018. Unilever will also be launching a new website explaining ingredient types, offering Q&As, and more. If you are very cautious - or would like to be - about what you're putting on your body, this is incredible news.

"Unilever's action is a game-changer for transparency in the personal care product market, and we expect other major companies to follow suit," said Ken Cook, president and cofounder of the Environmental Working Group. Cook is right: by making this enormous step, it is likely that Unilever's competitors will feel the need to step up their accountability with consumers.

"I applaud Unilever for its bold decision to give consumers more information about fragrance chemicals that are ubiquitous in personal care products," Cook added. "Fragrance chemicals ultimately end up in and on the bodies of virtually everyone who uses personal care products, including babies. I hope today's decision by Unilever will prompt similar action by other companies in the personal care market and beyond."

We hope so too. This one move could result in a domino effect across the entire industry. If consumers are dissatisfied with ingredients in their favorite products, sales will go down, causing companies to reformulate with safer ingredients. Eventually, this could lead to all beauty brands opting to go natural . . . making the ingredient list on that shampoo bottle in your shower even easier to read.

14 Protein-Packed Vegan Jackfruit Recipes

If you're like me, it's likely you don't have a lot of experience cooking with jackfruit. Here's the lowdown: jackfruit is a fruit loaded with vitamins, is high in protein, and has a similar texture as meat when cooked. Because of this, jackfruit has found its way into many vegetarian and vegan recipes. The following recipes are an excellent example of some of jackfruit's many uses; whether you're looking for a more savory dish or perhaps something on the sweeter side, you're guaranteed to find something equally delicious here!

Fifty Shades Darker: There's WAY More to Jack Hyde Than Meets the Eye

BDSM, near-death experiences, and . . . a difficult boss? When Jack Hyde first is introduced in Fifty Shades Darker, it seems like he may just be a typical thorn in Ana's side: inappropriate, demanding, and mercurial, but kind of anticlimactic in terms of an antagonist (especially compared to a gun-wielding ex-submissive). But it's Fifty Shades, so obviously, nothing is quite that simple.

Jack - played by Eric Johnson - quickly goes from "difficult" to dangerous, and he inexplicably hates Christian Grey with a ferocity that seems to go beyond regular old jealousy. It's easy to write him off as just crazy (mainly, because he, well, is), but there's way more to him than even Christian and Ana realize - and his story is just getting started in the second installment of the trilogy. If you want to know the dirt on Jack Hyde, read on for major spoilers regarding his sordid past, and what becomes of his character when the third and final book in the series comes to an end.

Who is Jack Hyde?

Jack Hyde starts out as Anastasia Steele's boss at Seattle Independent Publishing. She originally interviews for an internship at SIP, but Hyde pushes for her to be hired on as his personal assistant. Jack's behavior toward Ana quickly becomes inappropriate. In Fifty Shades Darker, he blackmails Ana for sex after discovering incriminating email conversations to and from Christian. After Jack threatens her and attempts to physically assault her, Christian has him fired from SIP and essentially ruins his entire career. It's a pretty good reason to hate someone and seek revenge, but that's not why Jack is out to destroy the Greys.

Why is he after Christian and his family?

After Christian's mother overdosed when he was young, he was placed in the same foster home in Detroit as Jack Hyde. The two were only in the same care for a couple of months - a time that Christian doesn't recollect. Although Jack goes on to be successful (he gets a scholarship to Princeton, for instance), he harbors a deep resentment toward the Greys for adopting Christian instead of him. He has obsessively sought revenge, collecting information on the family members and watching their movements. His rage is further fueled when Christian sabotages his job. Sound crazy yet? Oh, there's more.

What happens to him?

Jack Hyde is out for Christian's blood, literally. In Fifty Shades Darker, he is responsible for the crash of Charlie Tango, Christian's helicopter, but he really steps up his vengeance game in Fifty Shades Freed. He breaks into Christian's home in order to kidnap Ana, but is thwarted by security and sent to jail. Elena Lincoln - aka Mrs. Robinson - has an ex-husband who also hates Christian, and bails Jack out in order to get back at Christian for his affair with Elena. When Jack gets out, he kidnaps Mia, Christian's sister, and holds her for a $5 million ransom that he forces Ana to collect for him (Christian is a billionaire . . . he didn't think bigger here?). Ana saves the days, shoots Jack in the leg, Jack gets arrested (again), and Mia is returned to the family, safe and sound. After investigating Jack's past, Christian later discovers that Jack had a habit of filming himself having sex with his former assistants (the ones who all quit without notice), most likely to blackmail them with the evidence. All said and done, it's safe to assume Jack Hyde is locked up for a very long time.

Yep, Fifty Shades is just your average, formulaic love story.

FINALLY! There's a Harry Potter Movie About Lily Evans and the Marauders

For Harry Potter fans, one of the biggest stories we want to know about isn't necessarily of Newt Scamander and his adventures - it's about Harry's parents and their lives before him. What could be better than to see what types of adventures the Marauders got into or just how close Lily Evans and Severus Snape were? Well, one new fan film is here to give us a peek into that life with the short web series Lily Evans and the Eleventh Hour.

Created by Apple Juice Productions, Lily Evans and the Eleventh Hour takes us through Lily's sixth year at Hogwarts. In it, you'll see what her friendship with Alice Longbottom was like and, of course, a deeper look into her relationship with James Potter. The three-part web series is all available to watch on Apple Juice Production's YouTube channel. You can watch the first episode above. Trust us, this is something you'll want to set aside time for.

When Are the 2017 Oscars? Plus, Everything Else You Need to Know About the Show

The Oscars are the grand finale of award season, and this year, we have more to look forward to than ever. La La Land is up for an astonishing (and recording-tying) 14 awards, Viola Davis has already broken a record, and unless one of them doesn't show up for their nominated categories, ex-couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield will be in the same place at the same time. (It's exciting, OK?) If you're looking forward to the big show, take a look at all the need-to-know details below!

The Nominees

The best picture race is incredibly tight, with Arrival, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Lion, Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight all in the running. At least one actor from each of those movies is up for an individual nod, including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Casey Affleck, Denzel Washington, and Viola Davis. There are also plenty of first-time nominees like Andrew Garfield, Ruth Negga, Mahershala Ali, and Dev Patel.

The Snubs

Notably missing from the list of nominees are Amy Adams (Arrival) and Tom Hanks (Sully) - both of whom ABC accidentally (and awkwardly) listed on the Oscars' website as nominees. Both Hanks and Adams received nominations from the Critics' Choice Awards, but Adams also earned them from the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes. It's not shocking that they're not included, but it is slightly surprising.

The Host

This year's ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Meanwhile, Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd are producing the show.

The Presenters

Last year's acting winners, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Mark Rylance, and Alicia Vikander, are all scheduled to be presenters. Halle Berry, Jamie Dornan, Chris Evans, Gael García Bernal, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Dakota Johnson, Shirley MacLaine, Kate McKinnon, and Hailee Steinfeld will also present during the show.

When It's On

The Academy Awards will air on Feb. 26 on ABC!

10 Things That Will Happen When Once Upon a Time Returns

Once Upon a Time is still on Winter hiatus, but we're craving more. Even though new episodes won't air until March 5, we already have a few tidbits about the second half of the season. While the final minutes of the midseason finale certainly set the tone for our favorite characters, the show's creators, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, have also revealed a few upcoming plot points. As you patiently wait for the weeks to pass, familiarize yourself with the few details we have so far.

75 Very Important Thoughts We All Had During Fifty Shades Darker

In February 2015, the first film adaptation of E. L. James's bestselling Fifty Shades trilogy hit the big screen. Starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey followed the beginning of the relationship between English major, Anastasia Steele (Johnson), and billionaire mogul, Christian Grey (Dornan). During their time together, Christian exposes Ana to the world of BDSM, and she does her best to fit into it (the film features a lot of sex scenes, in case you weren't aware). However, Christian's sexual preferences, as well as his controlling and unaffectionate behavior, prove too much for the 21-year-old and she ends the relationship.

After waiting two long years to see Christian and Ana get back together, the film's sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, finally premiered. The second installation of the trilogy gives fans a glimpse into Christian's background, introduces new characters, and explores all-new aspects of Christian and Ana's intense relationship.

A fan of both the books, and the films, I eagerly purchased a ticket to a sold-out Thursday night screening of Fifty Shades Darker, before its official Friday release. Below is a list of all the (appropriate!) things that raced through my mind as I watched the steamy flick. Take a look to see if you had any similar thoughts! WARNING: Major spoilers ahead.

  1. What is that horrendous screeching sound? Why would you start a movie that way?
  2. Little Christian is so adorable.
  3. I like this song. Is that Coldplay's "The Scientist?" I wonder who's singing it. . . *Googles quickly* Ooh! Corinne Bailey Rae. This is amazing.
  4. How does her boss know how she takes her coffee? Or, is it tea? Either way, that's odd.
  5. Kate's on a vacation with Elliot? Isn't that a little soon to be traveling outside of the country with someone? How much time has passed? Whatever, she seems happy.
  6. LOL! Ana's taking the bus. Guess she still hasn't found a replacement for the car that Christian got her.
  7. That's the dress! She's wearing the dress that she wore during her business meeting in Fifty Shades of Grey. Christian loved that dress . . .
  8. Ana's boss is officially creepy.
  9. Oh God, there are a lot of photos of her at this gallery show. Is this the same gallery show José mentions at the beginning of the first movie?
  10. Seriously, how much time has passed?!
  11. Christian totally bought all of Ana's portraits.
  12. Yes! There he is! Finally! The beard is a good look for him.
  13. Steak and fries? I'm surprised Christian doesn't eat healthier.
  14. Did she have bangs before?
  15. Christian smiles so much more in this movie. I approve.
  16. Did this HR lady and Jack (Ana's boss) have a fling or something? They seem . . . awkward.
  17. Is Taylor just watching Christian and Ana make out?
  18. FINALLY! Goodbye forever, flip phone. Hello, iPhone 7.
  19. Christian does not belong in a grocery store.
  20. This sex scene is way more graphic than the BDSM stuff that happened in movie one. What is this rated?
  21. This is just like that scene in Twilight! (The one where Edward is watching Bella sleep, but when she wakes up, he's mysteriously gone.)
  22. Christian's butt!!!
  23. So that's Mrs. Robinson . . . interesting.
  24. Wow. He's actually wincing when she touches his chest.
  25. "You're not putting those in my butt." HAHAHA!
  1. Is the charity poster a photo of four-year-old Christian? Grace is such a mom.
  2. OK, last time. How much time has passed?
  3. LOL, teenage Christian.
  4. Mrs. Robinson is kind of bat sh*t.
  5. Decoy cars? Really? Calm down, Christian. You're not the President.
  6. Aw, he named the boat after his mom. Sweet.
  7. Didn't buy a coffee for Ana today? Someone's in a mood . . .
  8. "Dating Christian, it's not like you need to work." Her boss is such a jerk!
  9. LOL at Ana trying to ask if Mrs. Jones cleans the sex toys.
  10. The leg restraints expand! (That kind of scared me at first, not going to lie.)
  11. Is it just me or is this "vanilla" relationship way more graphic than the Dom/Sub one?
  12. I kind of miss all of the constant email and texting exchanges from Fifty Shades of Grey.
  13. OK, JACK IS WAY TOO CLOSE TO HER. Christian is going to kick his a*s when he finds out about this. Whoever taught Ana self-defense deserves a thank you note.
  14. She has such a great wardrobe. I wonder if these are her own clothes or ones that Christian bought for her . . .
  15. Now it's like Ana doesn't even want a "vanilla" relationship. My, my, my how the tables have turned.
  16. "Panties" is such a gross word.
  17. OMG! That's a quote from Working Girl! Her mom's (Melanie Griffith) movie! Very cute.
  18. Oh sh*t, it's the stalker.
  19. Oh f*ck! That gun was LOUD.
  20. Master?? I thought his subs called him Sir . . .
  21. So, a crazy stalker just tried to murder you, yet, you're going to walk alone . . . in an alley . . . in the dark . . . with no phone . . . while it's raining? Cool, cool.
  22. Are Christian and Ana the only people with lines in this movie? I miss Kate.
  23. "She scared me, but you scared me more." Seriously, Ana? WTF does that even mean?
  24. All his subs look like his dead birth mother! That is kind of messed up, not going to lie.
  25. He's letting her touch his chest!!! (It's weird that this is such a milestone.)
  1. MARRIAGE? She hasn't even moved in yet!
  2. *Christian works out* YAAAAAAAASSSSS!!!!!!
  3. Oh, that's the trick he did on Conan.
  4. "I wanna marry you." "Why?" Ana is me.
  5. What kind of work does Christian have to do in a helicopter? Is he surveying the land? I'm confused.
  6. The chopper is on fire. I know he'll survive. But, I'm still very worried.
  7. Oh, thank goodness he survived! I mean, I knew he would. But, I'm still relieved.
  8. He looks really good in T-Shirts. He should wear those more.
  9. "He's safe, but he looks like sh*t." I love how blunt Elliot is.
  10. Survives a helicopter crash, crosses state lines with no phone or wallet, but still manages to keep the birthday gift she got him. Amazing.
  11. Why wasn't she wearing a bra this whole time?
  12. Oh! He is very naked.
  13. Ana's boobs get more attention than any character in this movie.
  14. Gretchen is giving off some serious shade.
  15. Why is this announcement kind of hilarious?
  16. Mrs. Robinson was totally lurking. Yes, Ana! Toss that drink in her face! So tired of her crap.
  17. Does Christian always have a handkerchief handy? So classy.
  18. Ana just looks silly now.
  19. "Leave my children alone!" Children! She referred to Ana as her child! I think Grace is my new favorite character.
  20. THE RING IS SO BEAUTIFUL! When did he have time to set up this proposal?
  21. "Be mine. Share my life with me. Marry me." I mean, these are still all commands. But, yes!
  22. Holy sh*t, is that Jack?? He looks A MESS. What happened to him?
  23. It may be ominous, but I'm so glad this didn't end on a cliffhanger like the first movie.
  24. This Zayn/T-Swift song is actually really catchy.
  25. If I just stayed in my seat and watched the next screening, would anyone notice?

Their Dad Isn't in the Picture, So 1 Teen Took His Baby Sister to a Father-Daughter Dance

For 17-year-old Mohammad Hasher and his 6-year-old sister Noor, life has been a bit difficult following their parents' divorce. Because their dad isn't in the picture for them right now, Noor was rightfully upset when she assumed she would have to miss out on her elementary school's father-daughter dance.

Cue Mohammad, Big Brother of the Year.

"I heard about the dance the day of," Mohammad told BuzzFeed. "I actually went downstairs and saw Noor sitting in a dress on the couch with a big frown on her face. I wasn't going to let my little sister be the one out of all her friends to not be at the dance."

He took his baby sister out to buy a sparkly new dress and the pair set off for a magical night. Mohammad posted a few snaps to Twitter, where the internet collectively melted over his sweet gesture. "Got to take my baby sister to her first daddy daughter dance the other night," his tweet read. "Sorry you don't have a dad, but I'll always be there for you."

Mohammad also said that Noor actually won a box of candy because he was voted "best dad" at the dance. "To me [the dance] meant so much," he said. "It sort of gave me a wake-up call on how important it is to be there for her."

The '90s It Girls You Wanted (and Still Kind of Want) to Be

Ahh, the '90s. A time of Sassy and Jane magazines, MTV playing actual music videos, and devastatingly overtweezed eyebrows. We've brought back many of the decade's biggest trends, from Doc Martens and babydoll dresses to chokers and Lisa Frank - we've even rebooted some of the classic shows, like Boy Meets World, Full House, and The X-Files. In addition to the fashion, beauty, and entertainment highlights that have made their way back, there are lots of celebrities who had a huge '90s heyday and are still serving serious style now. Stars like Liv Tyler, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, and Winona Ryder have continued to inspire us, just like they did when we idolized them as teenagers.

Yes, we can sing the praises of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Gigi Hadid, and Emma Watson all day, but before them came a crop of impossibly cool women who paved the way and showed us that there were so many different ways to be strong and smart and not take any sh*t.

Chris Evans Takes on Former KKK Leader David Duke, Continues to Be Captain America IRL

Chris Evans has been candid about his feelings toward our current president, and the sexy, newly-single Avenger continued to fight the good fight this week when he got into a Twitter row with none other than noted white supremacist, conspiracy theorist, Holocaust denier, and former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke. It all started when David tweeted that Donald Trump's recent cabinet appointments of fellow racists Jeff Sessions, David Bannon, and Michael Flynn are "the first steps in the project of taking America back." From there, Chris took off running toward the flames like the #wokebae superhero he is.

O Captain, my Captain.

1 Little Girl Sent a List of Important Issues to Elected Officials, and It's Too Cute For Words

When one young girl decided she wasn't too pleased with the current political climate, she took matters into her own hands. Seven-year-old California resident Evann wrote a letter for elected officials detailing the issues she believes are important for them to focus on. Her mother, Kristin Carter, shared a snapshot of Evann's letter on Facebook to show the world what's on the young girl's mind.

The note listed eight actionable topics she thinks are worthy of consideration, from keeping good health care and equal rights to avoiding wars and protecting the environment. Her concluding sentence is what really made us tear up: "In a world full of storm troopers, be Leia." And the fact that she included a photo of herself dressed as the fearless Star Wars character just made us want to cry all the happy tears.

Evann's mother said she's planning to send the note to 94 legislators, Congress members, and senators in California. If this is the future of America, we can't help but be hopeful.

18 Stars You Probably Don't Know Won Grammys

When thinking of the Grammy Awards, it's pretty easy to be a bit single-minded. Considering that it's historically been billed as a night that honors the best of the best of the music industry, many tend to forget that the nominations list often has categories for spoken word, audio books, music videos, and even soundtrack compilations. For this reason, plenty of nonmusical celebrities have managed to strike gold over the years. We're covering some of the most surprising winners here.

I Lost 70 Pounds, but I Refuse to Have Surgery to Remove My Excess Skin

In 2007, I reached my 70-pound weight-loss goal and I have managed to keep the majority of it off ever since. Yay for me, right?

Before . . .

Not so fast.

Losing that amount of weight has certainly been wonderful on many levels. I no longer have to worry about potentially developing obesity-related health problems. Goodbye limited plus-size clothing selections. And memories of mean childhood kids making "fatso" pufferfish faces in my presence? A thing of the past.

And a recent picture, nearly 10 years after losing 70 pounds.

However, losing so much weight also left me with excess skin in areas such as my lower belly and upper arms. I'm talking about hanging, flopping bits of skin that sometimes makes me still feel as though people will want to give me their best pufferfish face.

In my clothes, I'm a regular exerciser and an optimistic healthy-eating advocate. But naked in front of a full-length mirror, well, the small curved "W"-shaped apron of skin that falls at my lower belly is enough to make me think I should don some full-coverage granny panties and call it a day - every day. I also have slight underarm "wings." Yes, gym-going me has wings.

My arms appear somewhat toned at this angle . . .

. . .But there's excess skin underneath that lingers.

"Why don't you consider skin removal surgery?" friends have asked. Admittedly, I've been tempted.

After all, one friend of mine successfully underwent post-weight-loss skin removal surgery after losing over 100 pounds. She hasn't been happier.

Of course, articles and shows about the topic have also piqued my interest. I think, "Hey, if it worked for them, maybe it's for me too."

Who am I kidding?

I don't plan on ever having skin-removal surgery.

For nine years, I've carried this skin of mine around. It's been with me through a divorce and new jobs, my father's death and a new marriage. It's literally been by my side though thick and thin. I've navigated life's challenges and changes, my loose-ish belly and semi-floppy upper arms there each step of the way. They even saw me though phases where I continued to diet after the diet was over, something I've thankfully overcome.

Quite simply, that extra skin is a part of me, just like my fingernails, calves, humor, and imagination. It's who I am.

In the near-decade I've been carrying around my excess skin, I've also learned that ultimately, I was the only one who was truly preoccupied with my appearance. No one has ever waited outside for me just so they could make a mean flabby-arm-fatso face when I pass. People aren't whispering about my loose skin. No one's tweeting about this; #wingwomanJen isn't trending alongside covert pics of me taken as I exit the gym.

I have a loving husband, a great family, and kind friends. Of course, I'm also considerably healthier not carrying extra weight around.

All along, I've been the one letting this loose skin nonsense get the best of me. In part, I'm sure it's also fueled by society's obsession with body perfection and of course, the skin surgeries that can help make that, um, goal a reality.

No thanks.

Am I intrigued by the concept? Yes. But a curiosity in something doesn't automatically translate to an intention of actually carrying through with it.

Besides, there's a risk involved with any surgery, so unless it's medically necessary, I'll pass. Yes, plenty of people have had successful outcomes, but there's also been cases of botched surgeries too. Whether they've involved rhinoplasty, excess skin removal, or just an occasional Botox session to fix those so-called "elevens" between eyebrows, things can go wrong. It happens. And I won't take the chance. It's a person's prerogative, which I'm comfortable with. It's just that it's not for me, and that's OK.

Besides, the thought of being wrapped up in post-surgery gauze, confined to a bed for a while, and being limited in activities during the healing process seems to go against the very essence of what humans are meant to experience in the first place. We're supposed to move our bodies, explore the world in them, be free, and most importantly, be happy.

Yes indeed, me and my extra skin are choosing unrestricted happiness.

This Video of Black Parents Explaining Police Relations to Their Kids Will Bring You to Tears

No parent should have to explain to their child how to avoid being harmed by law enforcement. Unfortunately, this has become a necessary conversation in black households in America. In this poignant video, black parents discuss with their children what they should do if they encounter a police officer.

An 8-year-old girl recites for us the lines her father has taught her to say to the police while she puts her hands up in the air to show that she is unarmed. Her dad explains to her that although there are many good police officers, some of them aren't great people. He tells her a story about the first time he was arrested: "I remember being put in handcuffs for something that had literally nothing to do with me. . . . They threw me on the ground and busted my lip," her father tells her. While listening to his story, she gets very upset and scared and runs over to her dad.

The video is filled with parents having to tell their children about the harsh and unfair reality that they may be put in danger because of the color of their skin. One young girl gets incredibly emotional because she fears for her male teenage cousin's life. "I'm worried about him now," she says through tears. "I don't want him to be shot. I don't want him to go to jail."

This heartbreaking video is a reminder that if you're lucky enough not to have to have these conversations with your children, you should still be aware that other parents do. It's hard not to cry as you watch these children and their parents feel genuinely afraid for their safety.

You Don't Need a Trip to Europe, Kate Spade Fall '17 Just Brought Paris to You

Kate Spade New York's Fall '17 collection tells us one thing: you don't need to be in Paris to dress like a French girl. The sought-after style has already been dissected and discussed enough in detail, which is why President and Chief Creative Officer Deborah Lloyd brought it back to the 1920s. Romantic florals (a trademark of the brand) were mixed with bold cheetah prints, pearl details popped up on heels, and there was no shortage of bows and lace. As we absorbed all these details, we noticed the most stand-out pieces from the Fall collection were definitely the coats.

What's a new season without some new outerwear options? Kate Spade looked ahead, giving us swoon-worthy items such as a furry trench with floral embroidery and a leopard-printed puffer jacket. These fresh takes on the styles we've seen make us all that more excited to embrace Fall '17 when it arrives.

8 Major Things You Can Expect to See in Fifty Shades Darker

It feels like it's been forever since Fifty Shades of Grey hit theaters, leaving a massive hole in our lives because we didn't get to see Christian Grey chase after Anastasia Steele after she shouted "No!" before those elevator doors closed. And with days to go until the franchise's second installment, Fifty Shades Darker, comes out, that satisfying feeling of seeing Jamie Dornan on the big screen again is getting closer by the hour. While the first movie just scratched the surface of the complex emotions behind Christian's beautiful eyes (and controlling behavior), Darker will give new meaning to the phrase, "What the actual f*ck." We've already seen tons of steamy set photos and trailers, but just in case you need more to satisfy your "nonvanilla" craving until then, here are eight major things that you expect to see in Darker.

1. Ana and Christian's lives fall apart without each other. While the end of Fifty Shades of Grey left fans (who didn't read the books) with a bit of hope that Christian might stop the elevator and make things right again, that's not at all what happens. Ana and Christian don't speak for days after she leaves, which causes both of their lives to slightly unravel. Ana starts her new job as a personal assistant to Jack Hyde, a big-time book publisher, but her grief causes her to stop eating, lose weight, and not properly function in everyday life.

2. They then get back together. After Ana and Christian both attend a photo gallery exhibit for her friend José (the one that has a massive crush on her), they kiss in an alleyway and pick up right where they left off.

3. Christian screws with Ana's career. Throughout their romance, Ana insists that she wants to make her own way in the publishing word without relying on Christian or his money. So when he buys the company that she currently works for because he doesn't trust Jack (he also freezes the company's accounts so Ana and Jack can't go on a business trip together), Ana is furious.

4. Christian's instincts about Jack turn out to be spot on. It becomes clear very quickly that Jack is an inappropriate and dangerous boss. In addition to continuously asking Ana out for after-work drinks and making her uncomfortable by invading her personal space, he also ends up cornering her in their office one night to try and blackmail her. He presents her with her personal emails with Christian that she sent on her work computer and threatens to expose her if she doesn't give him sexual favors. He then assaults her before she manages to escape. Christian has him fired and confiscates his work computer.

5. We finally meet "Mrs. Robinson." Elena Lincoln, who will be played by Kim Basinger, comes face to face with Ana when they all attend a masquerade ball at the Grey's house together. When Elena finally realizes that Christian is in love with Ana and doesn't see her as just a submissive, she becomes short with Ana and tries to sabotage their romance out of jealousy.

6. A dangerous stalker is thrown into the mix. While Jack presents his own problems for Ana, it's one of Christian's former submissives, Leila Williams (played by Bella Heathcote), that really takes things up a notch in Darker. After Leila's boyfriend dies in a car crash, she has a mental breakdown and becomes obsessed with Ana and her former relationship with Christian. She begins to stalk Ana and eventually breaks into her apartment and threatens her at gunpoint. Christian shows up and talks her down, but the whole situation has Ana worried that Christian won't be satisfied with their "vanilla" relationship.

7. Christian proposes to Ana. When Christian fears Ana may be leaving him again, he quickly proposes to her. She says she needs time to think about it and he leaves on a business trip in his helicopter, Charlie Tango. The helicopter then disappears from radar and Christian is missing for several hours, but when he returns to his apartment safely, he tells his family that both the helicopter's engines failed and he thinks someone was trying to kill him. Because Ana thought he had died, she realizes she wants to be with him forever and accepts his proposal.

8. Jack Hyde is not done. After Ana accepts Christian's proposal, his family throws him a party for his 28th birthday at their home. Jack, however, is watching the entire thing from outside, and in addition to revealing he sabotaged the helicopter, he also swears revenge on Christian because they are connected in more ways than one.

How Running Helped Me Conquer My Eating Disorder

Read on to learn how one woman transformed her eating disorder into a passion for running, as told by our friends at Shape.

The strange thing about my eating disorder is that it started when I wasn't trying to lose weight.

I went on a trip to Ecuador during my senior year of high school, and I was so focused on enjoying every moment of the adventure that I didn't even realize I'd lost 10 pounds in the month I was there. But when I got home, everyone else noticed and the compliments started pouring in. I'd always been athletic and never considered myself "fat," but now that everyone was telling me how great I looked, I decided that I had to maintain my new thinner look at all costs. This mentality morphed into an obsession with dieting and exercise, and I quickly dropped down to just 98 pounds.

After graduation, I spent a semester abroad studying in London before I began college in Upstate New York. I was excited about the freedom that living alone entailed, but my depression - which I had been struggling with for the past year - was getting worse by the day. Limiting what I ate was one of the only things I felt I could control, but the less I ate, the less energy I had, and it got to the point where I quit working out altogether. I remember thinking that I should be having the time of my life - so, why was I so miserable? By October I broke down to my parents and finally admitted that I needed help, after which I began therapy and started taking an antidepressant.

Back in the US, the meds started improving my mood, and that combined with all the drinking and junk food I was eating (hey, it was college, after all), made the weight I lost start to pile back on. I joke that instead of gaining the "freshman 15" I gained the "depression 40." At that point, gaining 40 pounds was actually a healthy thing for my frail frame, but, I panicked - my eating-disordered mind was unable to accept what I saw in the mirror.

And that's when the bulimia started. Several times a week, throughout the rest of my college career, I'd eat and eat and eat, and then make myself throw up and work out for hours at a time. I knew it had gotten out of control, but I just didn't know how to stop.

After graduation, I moved to New York City and kept up with my unhealthy cycle. On the outside I looked stereotypically healthy; going to the gym four to five times a week and eating low-calorie foods. But at home, I was still bingeing and purging.

Things started to make a change for the better when, in 2013, I made a New Year's resolution to try one new workout class a week. Until then, all I ever did was hop on the elliptical, sweating joylessly until I reached a certain calorie burn. That one little goal ended up changing my entire life. I started with a class called BodyPump and fell in love with strength training. I was no longer exercising to punish myself or to just burn calories. I was doing it to get strong, and I loved that feeling. Next up, I tried Zumba. The women in that class were so feisty - so proud of their bodies! As I became close friends with some of them, I began to wonder what they would think of me hunched over the toilet. I drastically cut back on bingeing and purging.

The final nail in the coffin of my eating disorders was signing up to run a race. I quickly realized that if I wanted to train hard and run fast, I had to eat properly. You can't starve yourself and be a great runner. For the first time, I began to see food as fuel for my body, not as a way to reward or punish myself. Even when I went through a heartbreaking breakup, I channeled my feelings into running instead of food.

Eventually, I joined a running group, and in 2015 I completed the New York City Marathon to raise money for Team for Kids, a charity that donates money to New York Road Runners Youth Programs. Having a supportive community behind me was so important. It was the most amazing thing I've ever done, and I felt so empowered crossing that finish line. Training for the race made me realize that running gives me a sense of control over my body - similiar to how I felt about my eating disorders but in a much healthier way. It also made me realize how amazing my body is and that I wanted to protect it and nourish it with good food.

I had my heart set on doing it again, so last year I spent a lot of time running the nine races required to qualify for the 2017 New York Marathon. One of those was the SHAPE Women's Half Marathon, which really took the positivity I associated with running to the next level. It's an all-women race, and I loved being surrounded by such positive female energy. I remember it being such a gorgeous spring day, and I was thrilled to run a race with so much lady power! There's something so empowering about watching women cheer each other on - women representing every body type you can imagine, showing their strength and accomplishing their goals. (Interested in running the race too? You can register here.)

I realize that my story might sound a little unusual. Some women with eating disorders might use running as another way to burn extra calories or punish themselves for eating - I was guilty of that back when I was slaving away on the elliptical. But for me, running has taught me to appreciate my body for what it can do, not just for the way it looks. Running has taught me the importance of being strong and of taking care of myself so I can continue to do what I love. I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about my appearance, but I no longer count calories or pounds as a measure of success. Now I count miles, PRs, and medals.

A Look at Charming Prince Philip Through the Years

Before Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth, she married the handsome foreign Prince Philip from Greece, who also happens to be her third cousin. According to Sally Bedell Smith's biography titled Elizabeth the Queen, Philip came from a tumultuous background despite his lineage. Born in 1921 on the island of Corfu, he moved to Paris at age 1 with his parents, Alice Marie and Prince Andrew of Greece. By age 8, he'd headed to England for boarding school. With generous good looks and confidence, Philip made his way to England with the help of royal relatives. He would later be invited to have lunch with the royal family, and that's when Elizabeth reportedly fell for him. During World War II, Philip served in the Mediterranean and Pacific, and he and Elizabeth wrote each other letters. By 1946, he was back in London and making regular visits to Buckingham Palace. During that Summer, he spent a month at the royal family's Balmoral Estate, where he proposed. Their wedding was held at Westminster Abbey on Nov. 20, 1947.

During their 68 years of marriage, most of them during Elizabeth's reign as the monarch, Prince Philip has been as constant as the queen herself, although he's a bit more controversial, making a few insensitive gaffes. But when he's not giving the press an unfortunate quote to run, he's either by the queen's side, working as a patron for several charities, or, until recently, enjoying carriage racing. Let's look back at pictures of Prince Philip over the years, then see the facts about the British royal family every die-hard fan should know.

It's a Jolly Holiday, Because We Finally Have More Details About Mary Poppins Returns

Disney has some incredible reboots in store, but one of the most highly anticipated has to be the upcoming sequel to Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns. While nothing can top the original, the film certainly has some incredible stars lined up, including cameos from the original cast! Not to mention, the production team certainly knows a thing or two about musical adaptations. Get all the details about the movie, as well as the release date, here.

The Cast

Emily Blunt will take on the coveted role of Mary Poppins, and Lin-Manuel Miranda will play a lamplighter named Jack. The film also stars Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, and Julie Walters. Dick Van Dyke (who played Bert in the original movie) will also make a special appearance as Mr. Dawes Jr., the chairman of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank. Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh, and Joel Dawson will play the three new Banks children.

What It's About

The film is set in London during the 1930s depression era (the time period of the original novels) and follows a grown-up Michael (Whishaw) and Jane (Mortimer) living with his three children and their housekeeper, Ellen (Walters), on Cherry Tree Lane. After the family faces a terrible loss, Mary Poppins (Blunt) returns to bring joy and life back into their lives alongside Jack (Miranda) and her whimsical cousin Topsy (Streep).

The Director

Rob Marshall will direct and produce Mary Poppins Returns. This certainly isn't his first time working with Disney, either. He actually directed the movie adaptation of Into the Woods, which also starred Blunt.

The Production Team

Chicago's John DeLuca and La La Land's Marc Platt will also produce with a screenplay written by David Magee based on the Mary Poppins stories by P.L. Travers. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who both worked on Hairspray, will write new songs for the movie.

When Filming Starts

Production for the film has commenced at Shepperton Studios in England.

The Release Date

The movie comes out on Dec. 25, 2018.

Mom's TBT Bikini Photo Showcasing Her Postbaby Body Is What We All Need to See

Back in 2015, Rachel Hollis of The Chic Site blog posted a photo of herself smiling on a beautiful beach in a bikini - it went totally viral. Now two years later, Rachel took to Facebook again to share a new bikini photo with the same powerful words that inspired so many women the first time.

"I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that's permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy (which is something I didn't even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini. I wear a bikini because I'm proud of this body and every mark on it.

Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could. I wear a bikini because the only man who's opinion matters knows what I went through to look this way. That same man says he's never seen anything sexier than my body, marks and all. They aren't scars ladies, they're stripes and you've earned them. Flaunt that body with pride!"

More and more moms have overcome insecurities and judgments from others of late, and the sheer amount of moms willing to post their vulnerable and raw photos for the world to see is simply incredible. We're stronger together, ladies!

A T. Rex Attempting to Shovel Snow During a Storm Is as Funny as it Sounds

As powerful winter storms barreled through the Northeast, one brave woman decided to get out there and shovel some snow while boldly wearing a T. rex costume. In one side-splitting video shared on YouTube by Leslie Haasch, she takes approximately one minute just to put her damn shoes on and open her home's sliding glass door.

She then gets absolutely slammed by the wind - her costume's T. rex head flailing about - before ultimately heading back inside, defeated. Mind you, the entire time she's sighing deeply and muttering phrases of frustration under her breath. It's a real emotional roller coaster. See it in its full glory, above.
