Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, We Can't Solve This Puzzle - How 'Bout You?
Happy Valentine's day! :)
Can you find the heart among the snails? <3 🐌Original post: http://bit.ly/2lffMcv
Solution: http://bit.ly/2lbsXeWPosted by Dudolf on Tuesday, February 14, 2017
One brain-teaser inspired by Valentine's Day is causing us to seriously question our eyesight. The optical illusion features many adorable little snails with their shells all various shades of pink and red and asks the viewer to locate the single heart among the snails. Take it from us - it isn't easy, mainly because the heart is partially obscured!
If you've given up all hope on trying to find the heart, it's in the upper left-hand quadrant right below the snail in that aforementioned region. The trickiest part about this one, however, is that the heart doesn't stand on its own as you might expect. Instead, it's simply a heart drawn onto one of the existing shell shapes.
Check out the solution here.
This Is What Stay-At-Home-Moms Actually Do - For the Men Who Just Don't Get It
Kristy is sick of people, especially partners, assuming that being a stay-at-home mom means that you actually sit at home all day. This mom is fed-up with the expectations that because you don't work in an office that means your house is never a mess and if it is, it's because you did "absolutely nothing" all day.
According to Kristy, any spouse or friend who has ever had this thought is overlooking one tiny detail about any stay-at-home mom's day:
There is a human or humans that she is in charge of and responsible for meeting their every need, want, desire, and more. They forget that she does clean, only to have the kid projectile vomit all over the floor she just mopped. That she finished the dishes from last nights dinner only to have it fill up with breakfast and lunch dishes. That she picks up all the toys during their nap time only to have even more toys scattered everywhere when they awake. That she didn't even have time to enjoy a hot meal that day let alone sit down all day eating those magical bon bons people keep referring to. That if she is sitting down for longer than fifteen minutes there is a 99 percent possibility it's because she has a baby attached to her boob, so there is not much else she could or even should be doing in those moments.
For the partners coming home after a long day of work, Kristy urged them in her post to Facebook to understand where the mother of their children is coming from when she sees you.
"She craves even just five precious minutes to herself where she can get her head on straight, [but has] to fantasize about it instead," she wrote. "She is envious of her partner's thirty minute commute to and from work to be alone listening to a great audiobook or something other than 'The Wheels on the Bus.' She counts down the minutes until her partner gets home so she could have someone to talk to that doesn't say 'Goo goo ga ga' back. She wants, no in fact she needs, to hear the every detail of your day, no matter how small."
For any dad who is sadly mistaken about how his wife is spending her time, Kristy urges them to understand that there are most likely days that she wishes she could trade places with you.
So the next time you see the house is not so tidy and she only seemed to have the energy to cook a frozen meal that night, just look at the kids and remember she is their whole world, so every part of the house you feel she neglected went to keeping those tiny humans loved, fed, and happy instead. Give her a kiss and ask what can you do FOR her, even though you're tired and were working all day, she worked too, but she didn't get three required breaks and that commute to and from work like you do. She worked hard, even if you can't tell she did. Just look at the beautiful smiles on your kids. Instead of keeping tabs on what she didn't get done, because nine times out of ten, she has neglected herself most of all.

This Dreamy Makeup Brush Looks Just Like The "Enchanted Rose" From Beauty and the Beast
The live-action Beauty and the Beast movie comes out on March 17, and Disney aficionados are whipping themselves up into a frenzy by shopping all kinds of products inspired by the film. This includes Gap's new kids' collection, an adorable tea set, and now, Storybook Cosmetics is giving us the gift of Enchanted Rose-inspired makeup brushes. (Are you squealing as much as we are?)
The brand announced its "What's in a Name" collection late last Winter, declaring they'd be ready by early Spring, and after weeks of suspense, their team has given us another sneak peek on Instagram.
"One more round of changes and our 'What's in a Name' original rose brushes will be complete!" the caption announced. Though the tools seem positively perfect (the handles look like real stems!) Storybook Cosmetics explained that the team plans to lengthen and darken the bristles. This way, they'll look even more like the velvety petals of a red rose, and those faux "leaves" on the brush's ferrule won't accidentally scratch the face.
And yes, though this brush looks like it was snatched from beneath a bell jar that was hidden in the West Wing, it's actually part of a bouquet of brushes. We can't wait to see the final set. (A note to anyone looking for a gift for their significant other or best friend: flowers make a lovely present all year round, hint hint!) Keep reading for more shots of the collection.

Previously Abused Dog and Boy With Autism Have a Beyond Touching Unbreakable Bond
Lucas is a young boy with autism who has a difficult time socializing with people and Max is a previously abused rescue dog who feared human touch - that is, before he met Lucas.
"This picture is two years old but is still my favorite," Luke's mom wrote in a post on the Love What Matters Facebook page. "Lucas is slightly on the spectrum and has a hard time interacting with people. Max is an abused rescue dog who we saved from a life of mistreatment, which caused him to fear human touch, except for Lucas. They are best friends."
Although every child on the autism spectrum is different, many have difficulties with socialization, making a dog a perfect companion for so many reasons. However, because of Max's past, the pair's sweet unbreakable bond means so much more to them both. "Max is Luke's protector," Lucas's mom wrote. "They have taught each other so much. About trust, about love, about companionship. It's amazing to watch them together."

This Little Boy Getting Star-struck Over Ed Sheeran Is the Cutest Thing You'll See All Day
Ed Sheeran stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday for a special Valentine's Day episode, but he was definitely overshadowed by a sweet little kid named Kai. After giving very passionate performances of Katy Perry and Bruno Mars songs during his last few visits, the 8-year-old switched it up by serenading the host, who he refers to as his girlfriend, with Ed's song "Thinking Out Loud." Not only does he look adorable as he belts out the lyrics, but he gets so lost in the music, he actually doesn't realize when the English singer comes out on stage to surprise him. Of course, when he finally does see him, he gets adorably starstruck.
Kate Middleton's Reaction to Doing an Exercise With Young Air Cadets Will Crack You Up
A few days after spending a glamorous night out at the BAFTAS with Prince William, Kate Middleton sported a Valentine's Day-appropriate red coat while visiting young RAF Air Cadets at a Royal Air Force base in Stamford, England on Tuesday. The duchess of Cambridge gamely joined in on a training exercise during her trip, which had her cracking up (as usual!) while she jumped up and down with the group. Later on, Kate, who is a royal patron and honorary air commandant of the Air Cadet Organization, plugged her ears near one of the loud planes before hopping in to test out a flight simulator. Hopefully Prince William prepared her with a few tricks from his days flying helicopters with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Ed Sheeran's Disgusting Story About His Foot Will Oddly Make You Love Him Even More
Ed Sheeran has taken over the music industry once again with the release of his two new songs, "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill." Just a few days after killing his Grammys performance on Sunday, he stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday. Ed showed off his signature English charm when talking to the host about a few random topics, including why he recently got rid of his cell phone and his near-death experience when he almost fell into an active volcano. His resulting injury is absolutely disgusting, but the way he tells the story will only make you love him even more.
Study Shows That Waiting Until Your 30s to Give Birth Can Increase Your Child's Intelligence
We already know that waiting to have kids comes with its fair share of perks. Aside from getting to enjoy your prepregnancy bod for a while longer, there are also some scientifically proven benefits, such as memory loss prevention and a longer lifespan. Now there's another reason that further solidifies why delaying pregnancy is the way to go.
Researchers at the London School of Economics looked at data from the Millenium Cohort Study and found that older moms, specifically those in their 30s, are more likely to give birth to intelligent children than those who have kids a younger age. The study, which looked at 18,000 British children and the impact of their mother's age at their birth, discovered that children of 30-something mothers outperformed the offspring of 20- or 40-something moms on cognitive tests. Their reading, thinking, and remembering skills were tested when they were 10 or 11 years old.
The reasoning for these findings appears to lie in the fact that women who delay pregnancy typically do so because they chose to establish a career rather than bear a child in their 20s, according to Daily Mail. As a result, 30-something mamas are able to provide their tots with more resources and attention because they are already settled in their jobs, the research suggests.
Though the research was originally published back in 2015, its findings are making their rounds on the internet again, with many 30-something moms-to-be excited about the prognosis. The analysis also demonstrated how delaying birth to ages 40 or older can be associated with a heightened risk of obesity. This is all the more reason to shoot for that sweet spot of your 30s for your first pregnancy.

If Adele Ever Wins an Emmy and a Tony, She'll Join a Rare and Impressive Hollywood Club
Winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, or a Tony is nice and all, but what if you win all four? Scoring an elusive EGOT is a feat that only 12 people in Hollywood have been able to pull off so far: Audrey Hepburn, Richard Rodgers, Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, John Gielgud, Jonathan Tunick, Marvin Hamlisch, Mel Brooks, Mike Nichols, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert Lopez, and Scott Rudin. Could Adele be next? Maybe.
There are quite a few people, like Denzel Washington and Kate Winslet, who are close to taking home the so-called "grand slam" of show business, and Adele is one of them. Unless you've been living under a rock since 2009, you know she's made a habit of sweeping the Grammys every year she puts out an album (and sometimes even when she doesn't, in one case). So far she has 15 under her belt, as well as one Oscar for "Skyfall," her song on the James Bond film's soundtrack in 2014. If she can somehow win an Emmy and a Tony, she'll be lucky number 13 on the list.
Now the real question is: how likely is it that she'll be able to win an Emmy and a Tony? Adele hasn't shown any interest in acting so far (unless you count her recent role as "Crazy Woman at Jamba Juice"), but both award shows have categories that where her musical brilliance could shine. For instance, the Creative Arts Emmys has an outstanding original music and lyrics category, and we could totally see her going the route of Elton John one day and scoring a Tony Award-winning musical. Only time will tell, but if Adele has proved anything throughout her career, it's that there's nothing she (and her vocal chords) can't do.

Does Nick Find Love on The Bachelor? His Coy Response Will Make You Wonder
Nick Viall is looking for love (again) on The Bachelor this season, but it seems like the fourth time might not actually be the charm. During a special Valentine's Day appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the two-time Bachelorette runner-up was incredibly coy about whether or not he actually finds love in the end. Now that contestant Rachel Lindsay has officially been announced as the new Bachelorette (making her the first black lead on the show), the host said that she thinks he'll end up picking business owner Corinne Olympios. While she's been painted as a villain this season, Nick added that sometimes we don't always get the full picture on the show. Guess we will just have to wait until March 13 to find out for sure!
Oscar de la Renta's Cotton Candy-Colored Eye Makeup Was a True Treat!
Leave it to the Oscar de la Renta show to sweep into New York Fashion Fall 2017 with cotton candy, pastel rainbow eyes that are as whimsical as they are chic.
Each model wore a high-pigment (almost electric!) pink eyeliner on the upper lash line and then a pastel hue on top of the lid up to the crease. The eyeliner was thick enough to see even with the eyes open, and the whole look felt super refreshing and really playful. It was also a definite nod to the brand's storied aesthetic.
"Oscar de la Renta was all about beauty, but also the joy of life," Tom Pecheux, the lead makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics, explained backstage. "He knew how to incorporate a lot of color, and it was very important to carry on that heritage of the brand."
To re-create, apply a hot pink eyeliner against your top lash line and gently smudge it out before adding your choice of a cream or powder pastel eye shadow across the lid. Instead of using a "back and forth" motion when applying the color, pat the shadow on with a small brush to build up intensity.
We're giving this look five out of five heart-eye emoji. Swoon!
This Gender Reveal Photo Shoot Is What Disney Dreams Are Made Of
For soon-to-be parents Megan and Ryan, one of their first real loves was Disney. After getting married, the fun-loving couple even opted for their photographer to capture a playful honeymoon shoot at Epcot. When the pair found out that they were expecting, it almost felt clandestine that their beloved wedding photographer already had a trip planned to Florida and they immediately knew that they wanted to plan a gender reveal session at Disney World.
The only problem with this exciting idea was that at Megan's most recent doctor's appointment, the doctor was unable to say the baby's gender with complete certainty. Although he suspected it was a girl, Megan wouldn't be able to find out for sure until the day after Dawn Browne's, of Degrees North Images, flight back to Texas.
To play it safe, they decided to take photos with both baby boy and girl props in order to be prepared for either gender. They spent the afternoon at Disney's boardwalk so they could have room away from all of the pedestrians while still taking advantage of colorful backdrops. When it was confirmed that the expecting parents were having a baby girl, nobody was more thrilled than Ryan! "Our dad to be was so excited (he would only take pictures with the little girl shoes)," Browne told POPSUGAR. "Now we are all looking forward to future photo shoots with the newest Disney princess!"

If You Prefer Emily Ratajkowski's Bikinis, You Obviously Haven't Seen Her Baywatch Suit
Don't get us wrong, Emily Ratajkowski looks good in a two-piece. In fact, the supermodel's come up with so many ideas for mixing and matching her bikinis, we can barely keep up. But while vacationing with her friends Bella Hadid, Elsa Hosk, Hannah Ferguson, Lais Ribeiro, Hailey Baldwin, and Rose Bertram in the Bahamas, Emily pulled a style switch-up.
Her red Solid & Striped design was fitted and sleek, with not a cutout in sight, and the plunging neckline was a touch sexy - very simple, very effortless, very Baywatch. Emily completed her look with a dainty chain necklace, allowing us full focus on her one-piece. While clearly, most of her pals prefer classic tops and bottoms, Emily is making a case for coverage at the beach. Read on for a look, then shop similar silhouettes for yourself.
Kate Middleton Wore the Perfect Alternative to a Dress For Valentine's Day
When you're climbing in and out of a plane, you want to wear a sensible outfit. Kate Middleton did just that when she arrived at an air cadet center wearing a Philosophy di Lorenzo twill blazer and black pants complete with matching black boots and gloves. The casual ensemble was bright and easy for her to move in as she stepped on to the wings of a plane.
Coincidentally, the duchess of Cambridge also appeared to give a nod to Valentine's Day with the red in her outerwear and her heart-shaped earrings by Kiki McDonough Lauren. The blazer featured double-breasted gold button details and was the perfect alternative to a holiday dress, which wouldn't have been as suitable for Kate's daytime activities. Read on for a closer look at her blazer and then shop the exact one below.

18 Selena Gomez Bikinigrams That Prove She's Definitely a 10
If there's one thing we love about Selena Gomez, it's that she's always game to show off her stylish swimsuits. After all, she's hot and she knows it. In fact, when the star called the TJ Show and was asked to rate her hotness on a scale from one to 10, she said, "On a good day, I would say - like a premiere day - I would be a good nine. And then, on my every day, I feel like a six. Gosh, that sounds so bad! I feel like a six or a seven."
But from the look of Selena's sun-kissed bikinigrams, for which she changes her style based on the prints, colors, and cuts of her suit, we'd say she's a definite 10 - even when she's on the beach with no makeup on. Scroll to find 18 times Selena proved she can work a swimsuit like it's nobody's business.

Chocolate-Covered Strawberries in No Time at All
If there's one thing I could eat every day, it's chocolate and fruit. Blake Lively May Have Mermaid Hair, But She Says She's More of a Unicorn
If you were a female with a cable subscription in 2007, you likely watched Blake Lively play the now-iconic role of Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. During her time on the show, she truly made it looks like blondes have more fun. Blake rocked her long golden hair in beach waves, textured ponytails, and a bevy of other enviable styles. And so the internet's fixation on Blake truly began. (OK fine, if you watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants like we did, it started even earlier!)
Now, as the mother of two baby girls (James, 2 years old, and Ines, four months old), Blake's real life is quite different from Serena's schoolgirl days. First, Blake is taking on more sophisticated roles, including Adaline in The Age of Adaline and Adaline in The Shallows, which just scored her a People's Choice Award for favorite dramatic movie actress.
Second, she's made it clear how important family and being a homemaker is to her - often revealing the goods she baked on Instagram or showing gratitude for her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Lately, she's been bringing her sister Robin Lively - who you may remember as the actress from Teen Witch - to events.
So was the case on February 13, when Blake and Robyn hosted a L'Oréal event for editors and influencers to celebrity Galentine's Day. (Blake is a spokesperson for the mega beauty brand.) According to reps from the L'Oréal, Blake was at the venue until 11 p.m. the night before, setting up cute DIY stations for engraved heart-shaped necklaces, watercolor cookies, and Paper Fashion glittery cards. As eventgoers, we can confirm it was actually really fun with personal touches, like Blake's lipstick kiss marks scattered on mirrors throughout the space.
We caught up with Blake before the event to find out what she uses on her gorgeous hair, how motherhood has changed her beauty routine, and which mythical creature is her spirit animal.
POPSUGAR: Tell us about this heart-shaped updo in your hair!
Blake Lively: Rod Ortega did it, I cannot give you any tips on how, because I have no idea. It happened on the back of my head. He is a genius. I told him it was a Valentine's Day event, I described my dress to him, and then he just make it happen within like 20 minutes. He's so talented, it's upsetting.
PS: You have the best hair texture. Can you tell us of the products you use to get it?
BL: It's important for me to take care of my hair everyday. I used to color it, flat iron it, use curling irons on it in high school - whatever you do in high school that's bad for your hair. I learned one day that it actually matters what you and which shampoo and conditioner you use, because it helps to keep your hair strong.
So I went from having the healthy hair that you have as a kid, to completely destroying it and frying it, and then actually having really healthy thick hair that I was proud of again. I just put an emphasis on what shampoo and conditioner I use.
PS: Do you have a secret hair weapon?
BL: I rarely use a conditioner. I always use a mask, so I always rinse it out and leave like 5 percent of the mask in. I feel like my hair drinks it up. If I know I need to style it a very curly [way], then I do a little less, or I'll use a conditioner instead.
There's this L'Oréal mask I'm obsessed with called Color Vibrancy. I just notice such a difference. You pay all this money to color your hair or to upkeep your hair or use curling irons or whatever, and then you just like use soap on it? It doesn't make any sense.
PS: How often do you wash your hair?
BL: Every other day.
PS: As you're approaching your thirties, are you changing your skin care routine at all?
BL: I wear moisturizer now. I never did that before. But, yeah, I think that's probably it.
PS: Do you have a favorite moisturizer?
BL: I do, but it changes, because in the Winter, you have to wear a thicker one. And then in the Summer, you always want one with sunscreen - especially if you've been pregnant. It's a whole new like skin issue. Also if you're flying, you want a thicker one.
PS: How has your beauty routine changed since having kids?
BL: There's less time for it, because you have other people to care about. Also, my daughter is just as obsessed with playing in my makeup as everyone's daughter is. She paints our walls and herself and clothes and me. So I have to do makeup in 30 seconds or my whole house is covered in my makeup, because she'll just take it and run.
PS: So the internet is obsessed with unicorns and mermaids right now. Do you feel like you're more of a mermaid or a unicorn?
BL: The internet's obsessed with unicorns and mermaids?
PS: Yes.
BL: Oh. I didn't know that. We're not cool [refers to herself and Robyn Lively]. Yeah, I would wanna be a mermaid, but I think I'm a little bit more of a unicorn, because I'm like a little bit more horsey, and Ryan calls me unicorn. But the reason they [her and Robyn's husbands], call us that is because unicorns are suppose to be this like anomaly that's a really special, magical creature. So for your husband to call you that, that feels really good. I'd rather my husband call me that than a mermaid. But I can see the stupid headline, "Ryan Calls Blake a Unicorn." That's so stupid, please don't write that ever.

Bask in the Glory That Is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's Relationship Evolution
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are undeniably one of Hollywood's most inspiring and well-loved couples. They began dating in 1983, share four children - Kate and Oliver Hudson and Wyatt and Boston Russell - and have become a picture-perfect example of the contemporary blended family, eschewing marriage in favor of a non-formal commitment. When asked about why she and Kurt haven't tied the knot, Goldie said, "The question is, 'Why (get married)?' It's not, 'Why not?' We love each other. We fight the way people are supposed to fight. We love our lives together."
In addition to building a family, they've both established storied separate careers and have also starred together in three films - The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, Swing Shift, and Overboard, which they recently watched for the first time ever. Goldie tweeted out about the date night, saying, "Kurt n I snuggled up and watched Overboard together. The first time we have seen it all the way thru since it came out. Now that's Romance." PSA: Maternity Leave Is Not a Vacation
"Enjoy your break!" is what I - and many, many others - have (stupidly) said to a woman heading out on maternity leave. It's an easy mistake to make if you've never had a child. From the perspective of those back at the office, it does seem like the mother-to-be is going to be "resting" for six to 12 weeks, but I'm here to tell you the truth: there is no rest on maternity leave.
To illustrate just how deluded I was: just before I had my first child, I actually composed a huge to-do list of projects I planned to take on while I was "not working" for 12 weeks: reorganizing my digital music, cleaning out my closet, learning a new language. That list is still sitting somewhere. Nothing has been checked off yet, and it's been five years.
So, in order to get us all on the same page, here is my public service announcement to make sure the world knows that maternity leave is not, in fact, a vacation. Read through for five things you should know about what life looks like for a parent who has just had a baby.
1. Newborn work is nonstop.
The newborn clock never switches to the off position. New parents literally have reason to be on duty 24 hours a day with various responsibilities and tasks, including, but not limited to, feeding, diapering, and laundry.
Somehow, once this tiny newborn arrives at your home, you are busy in ways you never thought were possible - and the activity never stops. It's especially tricky because often one parent is home alone with the newborn, but most newborns are easily a two-man (woman?) job. And you have never seen so. Much. Poop.
Imagine this: you finally managed to feed your baby, which took an hour. Then the baby spit up all over themselves and the rug. Now you need to bathe the baby from head to toe, clean the carpet, and do the laundry. As soon as you are done with that project, you'll need to start feeding the baby all over again. Getting the idea?
2. You get basically no sleep.
The scenario I described above doesn't pause just because it's past midnight. Your baby doesn't know what time it is. And as a matter of fact, they are probably more wakeful and active at night. So you will probably end up like me, looking longingly out my window at the hundreds of apartments around me where people were sleeping. Because you will not be. A new parent is probably getting three to four hours per night - and they will definitely be interrupted. Probably by poop.
3. You get basically no break.
You know how now, in your workday, you can take a break to get coffee, chat with a colleague, or, well . . . go to the bathroom? Not so for a parent who is home alone with a newborn. I will confess there were days when I didn't manage to brush my teeth - and my dentist actually told me that it's a common problem he runs across with new parents. And I have peed while breastfeeding my son. (TMI?)
There's an extra little twist here, too: it's a truism that the second you endeavor to do something - i.e., the baby is sleeping, so you go to take a shower - the baby wakes up screaming and needs you immediately. Because they probably pooped.
4. If you're a birth mother, your body is hurting.
Not only are you working 24/7 with no sleep at this stage, you are sore in ways (and places) you did not know were possible. It's even worse (by far) for mothers who have C-sections (one-third of all births in the US).
There's also something that no one ever talks about: birth mothers bleed for three to six weeks after giving birth. So, you're probably bleeding, too.
Even though you are busier than you have ever been, your body very much needs any rest you can give it. And it's the truly "recovery" kind of rest, not the beach vacation kind. But you won't get much because it's probably time to feed the baby. Or change a poopy diaper. And because you're not resting well, it means your recovery takes longer.
5. Your learning curve is high.
Every single thing you're doing is probably something you've never done before now. Warmed a bottle? Changed a diaper? Swaddled? Burped a baby? Pumped breast milk? You are learning, like, 1,000 things a day while trying to figure out how to execute them all in the most effective way. That alone is exhausting, but it's especially bad in your viciously sleep-deprived, body-aching state.
So please, world, I implore you: next time you talk to a woman who is heading out on maternity leave, instead of saying "Enjoy your break!" maybe try, "May the Force be with you."
Note to expectant mothers: In case I've just scared the poop out of you, please understand that the newborn phase is truly just a phase. It passes quickly and one day (eventually) you will sleep and get breaks again. Just make sure you have a strong support network and a good sense of humor. You will love your baby so, so much that it will all be worth it.
