The Best Recipes That Start With a Can of Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce
Adobo can mean lots of different things - in Filipino cuisine, for example, it's a stew dish made of chicken, meat, or fish - but to Latinos everywhere, the word conjures a more clear and conclusive idea: either a garlicky all-purpose spice powder seasoning (Goya, anyone?) or the tomato, vinegar, and garlic sauce marinade that comes in a can of chipotle chilies. Either version is incredibly versatile, making any dish more flavorful and spicy. But nothing really beats the convenience of the can of peppers in adobo.
Whether you're cooking a traditional Latin dish or not, it's safe to say you can't go wrong with this spice when looking to add a unique kick. Here are 16 recipes that start with a can of the beloved Latin sauce.

2017: The Year of Unfair Wins

Aren't we used to this feeling by now?
I've been asking myself and my like-minded friends this question a lot lately, and it came up again on Sunday night, when Adele was called to the Grammys stage one final time, for her album 25's win for album of the year. Obviously, Adele is incredible, but even Adele was flabbergasted by the fact that Beyoncé's Lemonade - a history-making, multimedia, cultural touchstone of 2016 - didn't win. "What the f*ck does she have to do to win album of the year?" Adele herself asked in the press room, just after her win.
We don't need to have the conversation of which album was "better" or who's the more talented between two of the most talented women of our generation, because we're looking at the bigger picture. When you look at the history of album of the year, there's a clear disconnect happening with the Recording Academy, and a conversation about race that can't be ignored. Regardless of how you feel about that assertion, if you were one of the millions of Lemonade fans, one thing is certain: Beyoncé was robbed.
Which brings me back to my question: aren't we used to this feeling by now?
Nov. 8, 2016, was the first time it happened. The heartbreak that voters felt over Hillary Clinton's loss to Donald Trump was profound for a country that would be retiring its first black president. Like the glass ceiling that didn't get shattered by Clinton's would-be victory, learning that arrogant white billionaire Trump would be the 45th president made us feel like we were stuck in suspended animation. Or worse, going backward. Up was down. Wrong was right. The lesson trumpeted out was that you could work the hardest, do everything the right way, and still, you'd lose.

In the political realm, the series of losses has piled up: Trump was officially confirmed by the electoral college in December. Betsy DeVos was confirmed as secretary of education. Jeff Sessions was confirmed as attorney general. And it wasn't like we've all been helplessly watching. We voted. We donated to causes that needed it. We participated in marches, wrote postcards, called our elected officials - and the sense that people would do the right thing on our behalf slipped away as the headlines confirmed the worst.
In its wake, the pop culture of 2017 has been following a similar downward spiral, and the Grammys weren't the beginning of it. The Super Bowl became more than the two best football teams in the country competing against each other. Again, the sides of right and wrong seemed to rise up again as the vitriol toward Tom Brady and the Patriots morphed their potential win into a black mark on the year. Brady, seen as a cheater since the notorious Deflategate (and, incidentally, he's actually friends with Trump), represented the white, privileged brat who flouted the rules. Race also infiltrated the divide, as Saturday Night Live's Michael Che joked about it on Weekend Update the night before: "I just want to relax, turn my brain off, and watch the blackest city in America beat the most racist city I've ever been to." Of course, the Patriots won after the Falcons whiffed a 28-3 point lead. Like the Adele/Beyoncé talent debate, the emotional response overtook the logical argument of who played better. That defeated feeling was back, and then it returned two Sundays later for the Grammys.

It's not nearly over, either; in the pop culture world, we still have the Oscars to look forward to, and Casey Affleck is probably going to win the best actor Oscar despite the allegations of sexual assault, despite the outrage, despite another award season hopeful whose Oscar chances were dashed long ago due to similar circumstances.
It's also far from over politically, too, which we painfully remember each time someone reminds us of Trump's four-year term. But even if we can't change things there now, it would be nice to see some progress at the award shows that reflect the art of our time, if they could strive to be on the right side of history. All anyone has to do to take part in the positive change is to start paying attention to these conversations and what's behind them. Like Frank Ocean memorably advised in his pre-Grammys takedown: "Use the old gramophone to actually listen, bro."

19 Things That Happened at 1997 Oscars That Would Probably Never Happen Today
The Academy Awards will go down at end of February, likely providing us with a gorgeous collection of red carpet gowns, plenty of PDA-friendly couples, and some truly spectacular moments. It will be the 89th iteration of the annual award show, and although they're sure to be great, we have a feeling it'll be hard to top what happened at the Oscars 20 years ago. That's right - the red carpet at the 1997 Oscars was, as the kids say, f*cking lit. The dress code included crop-tops, t-shirts, and velvet capes, and couples who seem bizarre to us now were getting cozy all over the place. 2017's show might have Ryan Gosling, but the one in 1997 had someone legitimately dressed as the Oscar statue. There's no coming back from that.

Goldie Hawn Is a Ray of Sunshine During Her Whirlwind Trip to Vienna
Goldie Hawn captivates us with her infectious personality just about every time we see her, and her latest outing was no different. On Wednesday, the Snatched star attended a press conference with Austrian entrepreneur Richard Lugner in Vienna, where it was announced that Goldie would serve as his date for this year's Opera Ball. Goldie appeared to be over the moon with joy as she laughed up a storm on stage and even conducted a band with Richard's ex-wife Christina during an autograph session at Lugner City.
Richard has a history of inviting Hollywood stars to the annual ball; he previously brought Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, and Carmen Electra, though his date with Kim didn't go as smoothly as the rest. Kim was allegedly paid $500,000 for the 2014 appearance, but Richard was reportedly unhappy with his date, complaining that she wouldn't dance with him and that she was being "annoying." Another report also claimed that Kim left the ball early after staying for an hour and a half. Guess we'll just have to wait until Thursday to see how things pan out.
What Zodiac Signs Would Look Like as Pokémon
As Pokémon enters its 21st year of existence, it's important to note how it has become part of our everyday lives, even in the tiniest of ways. For this reason, we were pleasantly surprised to come across these beautiful illustrations of zodiac signs as Pokémon.
Drawn by Tumblr user cuteskitty, the Pokémon chosen for each of the zodiac signs match up remarkably well. For example, Rapidash is a generally competitive Pokémon that moves very fast, which is similar to Sagittarius people that refuse to be bored and are constantly on the move.
Check out the rest of the collection below and be sure to follow cuteskitty on Tumblr, as she reguarly posts her art there.

24 Talented Women Who Swept Award Season
We're nearing the grand finale of award season: the Oscars. On the actor side, Leo had a similar story when it came to his role in The Revenant. It's an impressive accomplishment, but these two are hardly the first ones to take home the Oscar/Golden Globe/SAG Award triple crown - it's happened more times than you might think. The Statement Piece You're Going to See Beyond Fashion Month
This season at Fashion Week, it wasn't a trendy bag or shoe (hello, Gucci fur loafers) that made a street-style statement. It was messages of activism written across the T-shirts and jackets of street style stars.
Influencers like Aimee Song sported powerful phrases that read, "We Will Not be Silenced," and "Love is Love," in response to political decisions made by President Donald Trump. The clothes, a literal statement themselves, touched on love, resistance, and inclusion - ideas that were also echoed by designers on the runway. The fashion community came together to voice their political thoughts in style.
Scroll on to read some of the slogans spotted on the streets because we will continue to hear the messages well beyond fashion month.

Like Tinder, Netflix has a ton of options that can keep you entertained for one weekend and one weekend only. From Chewing Gum to Stranger Things, we've rounded up 16 TV shows that were practically made to be binged.

You'll Be Weirdly Into These Potential Lay's Potato Chip Flavors, Like Cotton Candy
For the past few years, Lay's has held the "Do Us a Flavor" competition where anyone can pitch their very own potato chip flavor for a chance to win $1 million. For the fourth year in a row, a panel of judges made up of chefs, foodies, and flavor experts will narrow down the flavors to three finalists that will be developed by Frito-Lay and sold over the Summer. Consumers can then vote for their favorite flavor, and the winner will win the grand prize of $1 million. Don't feel too bad for the losers though; semi-finalists will still win $10,000, and the two runners up will each take home $50,000.
In the past, some pretty unique flavor combinations have won the contest. In 2013, the winner was Cheesy Garlic Bread, followed by Wasabi Ginger in 2014 and Southern Biscuits and Gravy in 2015. In 2016, the contest was Olympics themed and included four finalists: Chinese Szechuan Chicken, Greek Tzatziki, Brazilian Picanha, and Indian Tikka Masala. This year's flavors aren't short on originality. They include flavors like Summer Pad Thai, Pickle Juice, and even Balsamic Pomegranate Parmesan.
Potato chip enthusiasts can head to the Do Us a Flavor site to check out the insane combinations people have come up with and even create your own.
When you're done, vote below on which chip flavor you'd be most excited to try.

2017's Oscars Gift Bag Is Worth More Than Most People Make in an Entire Year
Some of Hollywood's biggest celebrities are gearing up to attend the Oscars this Sunday, but while not everyone can go home a winner, most of them do get gifted with a ton of presents. The Oscars gift bags, which are put together by marketing company Distinctive Assets, are a hot topic every year, mostly due to the fact that they're always insanely over the top. While the company behind the bag has no affiliation with the actual show (the show actually sued it last year), it never eases up on the glitz and glamour. Last year's goodies totaled more than $200,000, and while this year's is significantly less than that (it comes in around $100,000), it still includes multiple vacations, jewelry, food, and tech gadgets. Don't mind us, we'll just be slaving away at our day jobs trying to afford that one leather jacket from last season.
Céline Dion Offers Beyoncé Advice About Raising Twins: "It's Going to Be Hectic"
Parenting is hard work, and raising twins is even tougher, but if anyone can do it, it's Beyoncé - just ask Céline Dion. The mom to twins Eddy and Nelson and son René-Charles only had nice things to say about the pop icon when E! News recently met up with her during the launch of her lifestyle collection in Las Vegas. "I think it's a double blessing. I have twins. I think she's covered. She's been in the business for so long, she's got her own people. . . . When she does something, she knows what she's doing," she said. "She looks amazing, she makes women dream, she's so beautiful, she's on top of things."
In addition to praising the singer, Céline also shared one important piece of advice for Beyoncé, adding, "It's going to be hectic in the house. But she's fortunate enough that she can have all the people that she wants to help her, but no one will ever replace a mom, and she's a great mom. I'm pretty sure of that." Céline isn't the only star sending her well-wishes to Beyoncé. Shortly after, Beyoncé announced her pregnancy on Instagram, Mariah Carey reached out to congratulate her, as did Rihanna and Chrissy Teigen.
Allow Us to Introduce You to the New Gucci Bags
If the Fall 2017 Gucci models weren't carrying ornate-looking canes or umbrellas, stitched with graffiti artist Coco Capitán's writing, then they were toting bags. How else do you expect them to introduce us to the new It accessories? These snakeskin cases and work totes will soon be on the arms of men and women alike. But the new connector straps, which string together a trio of handbags, were surely the most covetable design on the runway, speaking to the fact that three bags really are better than one.
Rest assured there's a style for every occasion, even a fanny pack affixed with the brand's signature hardware and perfect for going hands-free. Here, you'll find a detailed description of where the bags are headed for the new season, so scroll to get ahead of the game.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's Top 10 Most Glamorous Red Carpet Moments
It wasn't until they stepped out for the SAG Awards, snapping a last-minute yet totally glamorous hallway Instagram, that we saw it: Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are Hollywood's most stylish couple. That's because since they hit the scene together in 2009, they've always appeared so comfortable on the red carpet.
You can tell when John is totally feeling Emily's gown - it's usually body-concious with cutouts - and he also works to let her most colorful looks steal the spotlight. The pair have attended the Met Gala, all the biggest award ceremonies, and the swankiest party of 2014: Amal and George Clooney's wedding. 7 Oscar Nominees You Never Knew Were Based on Books

Everything We Know About Season 2 of The OA (Choreography Not Included)
Of all the new shows that premiered in 2016, Netflix's The OA was definitely one of the most divisive. After the streaming giant dropped the sci-fi drama out of the blue, audiences gobbled up all eight episodes in no time. Given the shocking final minutes of the show's finale, it didn't take long before fans started wondering if a second season of The OA was on its way. The short answer? Yes, there will be more Prairie Johnson in your future. The long answer? Well, there isn't really a long answer quite yet since details about season two are pretty slim. Here's what we know so far.
The Cast
So far no one has been officially confirmed, but since the show's cocreator and star Brit Marling has discussed creating the second season, we can at least assume she'll be back as main character Prairie Johnson.
The Plot
Season one follows Prairie Johnson (Marling), a young blind woman who returns home after a seven-year disappearance with not only her sight, but also a bizarre and brutal story about her abduction. She was held prisoner by a scientist obsessed with near-death experiences along with a group of other unfortunate captives. It ends on a cliffhanger that suggests Prairie has (hopefully) reunited with Homer (Emory Cohen) and the rest of the captives on an alternate plane of existence, but cocreators Marling and Zal Batmanglij have only vaguely hinted about where the story will go from there. "Brit and I figured out the whole thing. The whole thing's a riddle. There are a lot of clues," Batmanglij recently told Variety. "Very few people have really picked up on all the clues. Our sound engineer picked up on a major one that kind of blew my mind. I was like, 'That is designed for only the closest, creepiest viewer to find.'"
The Teaser
You can hear Prairie say "Homer?" as clips of black water and white smoke are interspersed with a message in braille (that reads "survived") and a photo of what looks like the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Premiere Date
At a Netflix panel in early February, Batmanglij revealed they have yet to start filming. Based on that, we can probably assume season two won't drop until the end of 2017 (like season one did last year) or possibly sometime in 2018.

In an interview with Sky News, Key explained his motive for the tweets: "I'm doing it because Piers clearly spends all day on Twitter staring at his timeline," he said. The way he sees it, he's giving Piers Morgan a relaxing and easy read. "He clearly needs a bit of a break from all the abuse, so as he mentioned that he hasn't read any J.K. Rowling, rather then having to tear himself away from Twitter to read it, I'd tweet him."
We hope Piers enjoys his first time reading Harry Potter as much as we did.
This Beauty Brand Is Bullying People on Instagram, and It's Going to Leave You Fuming
Once something is posted to social media, it's out there forever . . . even after it's deleted. One beauty company, Z Palette, is learning that the hard way after slamming customers on Instagram and instantly angering customers and retailers.
Z Palette is known for its compacts that magnetically hold pans of eye shadow, blush, and more. Recently, the brand introduced the Z Potter, a machine that helps remove your makeup from its original packaging to add it to the magnetic palette. Though the product is innovative and quite useful, customers let the brand know on social media that at $85, the Z Potter seemed overpriced. In response, the company lost it.
Z Palette responded to many users on Instagram with extremely offensive remarks, like "You're in a dorm room. It may be a stretch for your budget" and "You look like a cheap date, but we're not messing with you." Many people took to Twitter to state that they were done supporting the brand after treating its customers so horribly, including popular influencer Samantha Ravndahl.
We initially thought the brand's account had been hacked, but that was clearly not the case once Z Palette declared that it stood by the comments. Following the backlash, the brand issued a statement on Instagram, but it was not an apology! CEO Zena Shteysel has since said that they were simply defending the brand.
"We did not bully anyone; we don't condone bullying of any kind," she told Seventeen. "Anyone who has interacted with us knows that. Our customers know that. We took a stand against the insensitive (and unsolicited) comments that were being hurled at our company and at (makeup) companies in general. The images floating around social media show you what Z Palette allegedly wrote but make no mention of the posts that triggered the response."
Keep reading to see how the drama unfolded, and prepare to be surprised by Z Palette's comments.
