8 Things You Never Knew About Target Food, Straight From an Insider Employee

Since you spend so much time shopping at Target, you want to know as many secrets as possible, right? You're in luck, because we reached out to a Target representative for the official inside scoop on all things food shopping, from the return policy to the best money-saving tips. Keep these insider secrets in mind the next time you take a quick - or not so quick, probably - trip to Target.

You can return anything.

If you buy any item (including food) and decide you don't want it, you can return it for a full refund or exchange. "Guests can return anything, including grocery items. Most unopened items in new condition, returned within 90 days, will receive a refund or exchange." If it's a Target-owned brand item, you can return it within a whole year.

You can offer feedback and request items you'd like to see in the store.

Target really does listen to customers' concerns. "Because we are always eager to hear about our guests' experiences, Target.com encourages guests to create product reviews, add photos and videos, and interact with other guests." You never know if your idea might inspire the next snack in Target's aisles. "We have a test kitchen at our headquarters filled with expert chefs and trend watchers that create recipes and Target-owned innovations."

You can save a lot of money using Target's Cartwheel app.

Seriously, if you don't have Cartwheel by Target on your phone yet, download it now. It's an incredibly user-friendly app that makes your shopping experience even better. Cartwheel offers daily deals on items all over the store, from food to cleaning products. If you're feeling lazy, you don't even have to search the app - just scan the bar code of your product in the app and Cartwheel will tell you if it's on sale (pro tip: Archer Farms and Up & Up products usually are). "Since launching the app three years ago, more than 25 million guests have signed up for Cartwheel and saved more than $500 million on their Target purchases," the Target rep said.

You should take advantage of the price-match guarantee.

If you find something at a lower price within 14 days of your purchase, Target will match the price. "We'll match the price if you buy a qualifying item at Target then find the identical item for less at Target.com."

Some of the top-selling groceries are . . .

Archer Farms Monster Trail Mix, Simply Balanced Blue Corn Tortilla Chips, and Simply Balanced Vanilla Nut Clusters. Those are just a few of the bestselling snacks from Target.

Kids get free cookies at SuperTarget bakeries.

Kids who are 12 and younger can get a free cookie at SuperTarget store bakeries. The company recently added the option of getting a free piece of fruit instead.

You can get Archer Farms coffee beans ground at any in-store Starbucks for free.

Since most Targets have a Starbucks inside, this perk is incredibly convenient and desirable for coffee-lovers. While you're ordering your coffee for the day, you can also get a bag of whole beans ground to take home for the week. Archer Farms's coffee selections include French Roast, Cinnamon Vanilla Nut, and Café Mosaica.

You get a free "smash cake" when you purchase your child's first birthday cake from a Target baker.

While the rest of the party enjoys a separate, intact birthday cake, your baby can dive into a (free) smash cake.

A Flag Cake Has Never Looked So Simply Spectacular

Why a 7-Year-Old Girl Got in Trouble For Writing Her Name in Cursive

When a teacher reprimands a student, you can safely assume the kid in question did something wrong. Maybe she pushed a classmate in line, or perhaps he called out an answer without raising his hand. Or maybe she wrote her name in cursive.

After turning in a homework assignment focusing on vowels, a 7-year-old girl named Alyssa received some harsh words from her teacher. In red pen at the top of the lesson sheet, her teacher wrote:

Stop writing your name in cursive. You have had several warnings.

Turns out, Alyssa's mom - based in Kansas - had taken the time to teach her daughter to write in cursive and likely never imagined she'd get in trouble for it. After the photo was shared by a friend on Facebook, commenters were outraged, like one who said, "Best of luck to any teacher who writes this on my children's papers!"

We're not sure what this particular teacher's philosophy is on cursive handwriting, but it's a skill still taught in most elementary schools, despite rumblings that there's less need for it with the ubiquitous nature of keyboards and digital communication. And there's good reason all children should learn cursive penmanship:

  • Studies show that printing letters and writing in cursive use different parts of the brain, with the latter helping to develop a child's fine motor skills. Not only that, in one study, people who wrote in cursive showed more brain activity than those who printed or typed - and they also generated more words and ideas.
  • Kids who learn cursive have been seen to score higher on reading and spelling tests and have a better ability to retain information.
  • Some people with learning disabilities, like dyslexia, or severe brain injuries can understand cursive better than print.
  • There are plenty of important historical documents that are written in cursive, and children who can't decipher cursive words won't be able to read them. It'd be as if the Declaration of Independence was written in another language.
  • As infrequently as adults need to write in cursive these days, they still need to sign plenty of paperwork, from lease agreements to marriage certificates to receipts.

Looking Back at Channing and Jenna's Beach Day Has Us Excited Summer Is Finally Here

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum have been married since 2009, but they still act like teenagers who sneak out of the house for some alone time (and we love it). The adorable couple escaped real life in February when they jetted off to Hawaii for a tropical vacation, and they were spotted flirting up a storm in the surf. Channing and Jenna, who met on the set of 2006's Step Up and are now parents to daughter Everly, appeared to re-create some of the film's iconic dance moves in the sand. Channing, who showed off his muscles in just black swimming trunks, playfully picked up Jenna, who looked amazing in a red bikini, and brought her into the water. They laughed up a storm and high-fived their way through the afternoon, proving that the key to any romance is to never stop being best friends.

This Is Us Season 2: Who and What You'll Be Seeing More Of

Your weekly cryfest, This Is Us, is also one of the hottest new TV shows. So hot, in fact, that it got renewed for not one but two seasons back in January, a feat basically unheard of in network TV. And the only thing sadder than the plot twists of this show is the fact that we have an entire Summer to wait until it comes back. Lucky for us, we already have a bit of info about what we can expect next Fall, including some exciting quotes from Milo Ventimiglia and NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke from this year's panel at the ATX TV festival.

Several Actors Have Been Promoted to Series Regular

Look forward to more of the cast outside of the family - and the young stars who play the younger versions of the Pearson kids. Alexandra Breckenridge and Jon Huertas will be series regulars in season two, Entertainment Weekly reported in late June. Hopefully we'll find out more about how Miguel and Rebecca got together, while it seems like Sophie and Kevin are destined to get more serious. It was also announced that ,the actors who play the younger Pearsons have been promoted as well, including Hannah Zeile (teenage Kate), Niles Fitch (teenage Randall), Logan Shroyer (teenage Kevin), Mackenzie Hancsicsak (young Kate), Parker Bates (young Kevin), Faithe Herman (Annie Pearson) and Eris Baker (Tess Pearson).

Season 2 Will Be "Bigger" Than Season 1

At this year's This Is Us panel at ATX, Ventimiglia, NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke were asked to share anything from season two. Unsurprisingly, they were tight-lipped, but Salke wanted the audience to know that it would be "bigger than season one" in every way. Ventimiglia built the suspense by saying, "It's f*ckin' exciting. . . . I've been dying to get back to work." They also shared that filming for the second season will start on July 11.

There Are More Family Dynamics to Explore

Like previous beloved family drama before it, Parenthood (which ran for six seasons), there are nearly endless stories you can tell about a family. Obviously we'll see more Pearson family dynamics explored in season two, and star Justin Hartley intimated to us that the show might explore Randall and Rebecca's relationship more in season two. And we'll obviously also see the next stage in Jack and Rebecca's relationship since the finale showed a cataclysmic relationship fight.

The Episode Count

There will be 18 episodes of season two, and the same number for season three. Creator Dan Fogelman said that the seasons will also be split into two arcs before and after the holidays, like season one.

William Will Still Be Part of the Show

In one of the saddest moments of a very sad season, William succumbs to his illness. That would seem like it would close the door on cast member Ron Cephas Jones being on the show anymore, but it didn't. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly right after William's death episode, Jones said that he would be back in season two in some way. He compared his resurfacing to the fact that Jack is dead in present day, but Milo Ventimiglia is a series regular. "I do know that he's going to carry over into season two in some way, just as well as Jack was in all of season one." He added that "there's a chunk of his life that we haven't explored" and that he's "very excited" about all the possibilities.

William's Death Will Inform Randall's Season 2 Storyline

After the episode about William's death aired, creator Fogelman told Entertainment Weekly that Randall's grief will be a big part of the next season. Fogelman said that Randall will ponder "'How do I honor his legacy? What do I do with what just happened in this year I've just spent with this man so that I just don't go back to the same old existence?' And he starts making a bunch of choices and decisions that will affect us going into season 2." By the end of the season, Randall has quit his job and decided he wants to adopt, so perhaps those are the ways he is honoring his biological father's legacy (please, please, please let us see Randall as a stay-at-home dad).

8 Times Kendall Jenner's Dresses Came Dangerously Close to a Wardrobe Malfunction

Models have an affinity for wearing the sexiest dresses on red carpet, and Kendall Jenner is no exception. She always stuns us in barely there designer gowns that show off her back or mile-long legs. Her 2017 Met Gala dress by La Perla might have been her most exposing ensemble yet, though it comes after a long line of sultry sheer, high-slit gowns. You see, Kendall's been wearing this silhouette for years, and with major confidence, too.

Kendall isn't shy about showing off her figure - she loves to go braless, remember? Though there were many times her dresses invited potential wardrobe malfunction, Kendall has escaped this gracefully. If anyone can wear a high-slit gown without baring her undergarments underneath, it's Kendall. Read on to see the model's sexiest looks to date.

We Officially Need to Know If Netflix Is Renewing GLOW

If you haven't yet had time to watch Netflix's latest original TV series, you should take this weekend to familiarize yourself with GLOW, aka the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

This fictional account of forming the real-life 1980s all-female wrestling show stars Alison Brie, Marc Maron, Betty Gilpin, and about a dozen more quirky ladies who come together to film the pilot for what would go on to become a cultural phenomenon. The only question for Netflix fans now is: will there be a season two?

Signs point to yes. First off, there is still so much story to tell. The entire first season is about these ladies coming together with director Sam Sylvia (Maron) to film the GLOW pilot, which means the wrestling show is still in its infancy when season one ends. While GLOW has not been officially renewed, the buzz around the show is strong, plus the stars and creators are definitely in for more seasons if given the chance.

Executive producer Liz Flahive told Deadline that they really only scratch the surface of the characters in season one. "The first season we really take our time," said Flahive. "We're starting at the audition and we're going very slowly to when they get to find their characters, to how they get to the actual making of the pilot of GLOW. We're not quite at the moment where they are living their wrestling characters 24 hours a day. We're definitely starting to deal with the inner play of their selves and their wrestling personas and how those start to interact."

Meanwhile, Brie and Gilpin are already looking forward to when their characters are more seasoned wrestlers and therefore they get to do more impressive wrestling moves in the squared circle. "Betty and I sometimes fantasize about what would happen in season two, but I think most of it pertains to wrestling," Brie told Collider. "I can only imagine what we'll get into, as the ladies are shooting more episodes. I want to get in the ring and learn more big moves. I think that would be really fun."

Brie also told The A.V. Club that she and Betty watch WWE Raw and talk about using some of their most complicated moves. "Sometimes Betty and I will text each other videos of WWE wrestling and be like 'goals. Let's learn that one. Season two! Season four!'"

The original GLOW syndicated series ran four seasons, so four seasons on Netflix seems like a good place to start.

Trump Is Trying to Normalize Sexism - We Shouldn't Let Him

President Donald Trump is obsessed with appearances and has never been afraid to lash out at anyone who threatens to tarnish the way that he and those around him look. As a wealthy real-estate developer, Trump's penchant for picking fights was seen as a personality quirk, something that made him appealing to reality TV show audiences and the subject of many a tabloid headline. As president of the United States, it has the potential to topple the values by which the American people live their lives. Most egregiously, there's an obvious undercurrent of sexism that drives Trump's feuds, takedowns, and insults - and it not only reveals much about his worldview, but threatens to validate a breed of sexist language and misogyny that has no place in 2017.

When it comes to public life in the US, scrutiny is a given. Alongside unspoken rules of ethics, integrity, and decency, we also have a free press, which serves to interrogate anything that seems to be even the slightest bit outside of the norm. But scrutiny suggests doubt, and doubt can shift appearances and beliefs. Doubt is something that Trump is very uncomfortable with - "believe me" ranks among one of his most commonly repeated phrases - and often the mere suggestion that things aren't the way that they appear to be can throw him completely off course.

It should come as no surprise, then, that his tweets and public statements have become more aggressive in recent weeks, especially when directed toward the media and journalists. Trump sees them as trying to cast a pall on him, and his reflex is to constantly try to make them look bad to prove that he looks better. As a private citizen, he could get away with such behavior because he did not possess the power to dictate policy and public opinion. But when he goes after someone like MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski by calling her "low I.Q." and decrying her physical appearance, Trump is suggesting that it's OK to make sexist statements in order to "get back" at someone. Washington - though notably, not the press operation at the White House - was quick to distance itself from the president's comments and the underlying sentiment of the early-morning tweets.

Trump has always been an equal-opportunity bully, going after men and women alike. But the approach he takes differs quite a bit when it comes to men and women. If he's bashing men, Trump's focus is generally on a personality quirk or a negative characteristic that he believes that individual embodies. Think about the nicknames we heard most during the 2016 election season - Lyin' Ted, Little Marco, Low-Energy Jeb. These were all superficial jabs, meant to take the men down a notch and diminish the appearance of their integrity and masculinity in the eyes of the public. Trump's most common insult to level at men tends to be that they're liars or trying to "get him" in some way. Trump's behavior with men is childish and reprehensible but ultimately speaks to his larger insecurities when it comes to his stature among his peers.

With women, it's a different story. Rosie O'Donnell's weight, Carly Fiorina's face, Hillary Clinton's physique, the mere existence of Megyn Kelly's menstrual cycle: he aims for the lowest-hanging fruit, slamming his opponents for their physical appearance and what he apparently sees as the physical deficiencies of the lesser sex. Beyond the fact that it's unacceptable to speak to another human being in a way that is so crass, these outbursts also go against every effort toward gender equality and civility we've made as Americans in the last century. Given the amount of power that comes with Trump's office - combined with the repetitive and nonstop nature of his comments - it's hard for any reasonable woman not to wonder if President Trump will normalize the worst kind of behavior between men and women. And that's just not acceptable, on any level.

Trump's actions toward both sexes can be classified as bullying, of trying to push people out of the way to make sure that he himself appears to be the best and the greatest. But it's the way that Trump handles being threatened by women that is truly insidious, and it's not likely that Trump will ever feel it necessary to apologize for his comments in any substantial way, nor curtail his behavior. Instead, it's up to all Americans - not just the women Trump so loves to attack - to drown out the partisan noise and remind the world that this is not about Republicans vs. Democrats. It's about human decency vs. blatant misogyny.

Here's What You Need to Know About Trump and the 25th Amendment

Back in May, Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland introduced the Oversight Commission on Presidential Capacity Act, seeking to tap into a little-known clause in the 25th Amendment to set up an nonpartisan committee tasked with evaluating the fitness of the president for office. The bill had about two dozen co-signers, but seemed to be dead in the water - that is, until Trump decided to take to social media for several straight days, sending a barrage of hateful messages at the media and leaving many in Washington wondering about the president's current mental state. As the American people geared up to celebrate the Fourth of July, something completely unrelated to the birth of the country was trending on Twitter: #25thAmendment.

In the most basic sense, the 25th Amendment deals with what happens after the president is no longer able fit to serve office due to "death, removal, resignation or incapacitation." Added in 1967 as a direct response to the lack of Constitutional guidance on who took over the presidency and vice presidency after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy (as well as the chaos and instability that ensued as a result), it had originally been proposed after it was discovered that President Dwight D. Eisenhower had been suffering from multiple illnesses that could have left him incapacitated. The amendment therefore ensured that there were firm guidelines for both the removal of a sitting president, as well as a clear line of succession each time a new president took office - and has only been used a total of six times since its inception, mostly to ensure an interim president while the elected president is under anesthesia during surgery.

Raskin's proposed bill utilizes a relatively obscure article in the amendment which allows the Vice President and the majority of the president's cabinet or "such other body as Congress" to oust the president if he or she is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office." The congressman is proposing to introduce an independent panel - theoretically composed of former members of the US government - as the "other body," which would eliminate the need to get two-thirds of a divided Congress on board with the plan. It would, however, require Vice President Mike Pence's support.

But the discussion of the 25th Amendment is no longer limited to Congress, or to the new bill. All across the country, people are calling for increased scrutiny on President Trump's mental health after he tweeted a video of himself violently wrestling with an opponent labelled CNN and launched a series of misogynistic barbs at MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski. Ultimately, the appeal of the 25th Amendment is that it serves as a measure that's slightly more plausible than a full-on (and basically impossible) impeachment process, and serves as a beacon of hope for those who are frustrated by the lack of recourse for the president's actions. And given the president's "modern day presidential" habits, this is not a scenario that is going to disappear overnight - in fact, it's something that may gain even more momentum as Trump continues to take to Twitter to vent his own frustrations.

Invoking the amendment would be an incredibly difficult undertaking, though, and would require a whole lot of people agreeing on a course of action. Despite the unity we've seen around condemning the president's recent outbursts, when it comes to the actual politics of an action like this, it would likely come down to traditional party lines and stall out. But as we've seen over and over again, nothing is impossible in 2017 - so we'll certainly be keeping a close eye on the situation as it develops in the coming weeks and months.

This Soul-Crushing Ad Shows Just How Strong Moms of Sick Kids Are

Most parents will never know what it's like to care for a sick child - not the ones with snotty noses and low-grade fevers, but the ones with real, chronic, sometimes-fatal illnesses - and that's a good thing. It's a pain no mom should have to bear, but many do, and a soul-crushing ad is shedding light on just a glimpse of what that struggle is like.

In honor of Mother's Day, SickKids Foundation, a children's health nonprofit, released the 90-second commercial. In it, there's a mom praying in a church pew, a mom screaming and bashing her fists against the steering wheel in a vacant parking lot, and a mom breaking down in tears as a nurse explains how she'll have to care for her sick infant. Those watching can almost feel the anguish. Almost.

Then, each of these moms literally wipes away the tears, picks herself up, and gets to work. It's remarkable.

The organization's message? "For every kid in hospital who's missing childhood, there's a mom staying strong."

Unlike most ads you watch, take action after you see this one. As SickKids implores, stand with these moms to "help their kids get back to just being kids." And may you never have to know this kind of strength.

GLOW's Sheila the She Wolf Is Totally Unrecognizable Out of Costume

In order to film GLOW, Netflix's hit about a real-life female wrestling program from the '80s, a lot of the cast went through some spectacular makeovers to ensure their characters truly looked like they belonged in the decade of Aqua Net and legwarmers. For Gayle Rankin, however, her transformation into Sheila the She Wolf was a little bit more extreme. In GLOW, the Meyerowitz Stories actress, who has also starred in Broadway's Cabaret and is currently in the Public Theater's production of Hamlet, rocks a wild black wig, out-of-control smoky-eye makeup, and yellowed teeth to express her inner wolf. In real life, though? Gayle looks a whole lot different.

Without Sheila's wig, the 27-year-old classically trained Scottish star has short, white-blond hair (and significantly less eye makeup). We get a glimpse of the actress underneath the costume briefly in one of the show's later episodes, when Sheila opens up to her new roommate, Ruth (Alison Brie), about suffering from "species dysmorphia" (she believes she actually is a wolf). Sheila is by far one of the show's most interesting characters, and we have our fingers crossed that it gets the green light for season two so we can see more of her (with or without the wig, we're fine with either).

Costco Has a New Burger That Might Make You Forget All About Its Hot Dogs

It would be an understatement to say that Costco shoppers are excited about the addition of cheeseburgers in the food court. The wholesale retailer is known for its food court's affordable hot dogs and pizza, and now Costco is testing out a cheeseburger that seems to have been met with much success so far.

The third-pound burger is topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and thousand island dressing. As many have noted, the so-called Chicago-style burger does bear a resemblance to Shake Shack's famous burger due to the soft bun. As is expected, the burger is also seriously affordable at $5.

Costco is currently offering the burger on a trial basis throughout Seattle and in a few California locations, such as Corona, Pacoima, and Lakewood. If it's popular enough, however, it may become a nationwide menu item. Look ahead to check out more pictures of the brand-new burger.

The Fourth Fizz: A Cocktail to Show Off Your Red, White, and Blue

Photographic Evidence That Jennifer Lopez Has Not Aged a Day

If our lives depended on arranging photos of Jennifer Lopez in chronological order, we would fail. Though her style and hair color have certainly evolved through the years, her face and overall beauty have not changed - and we're starting to need more than her usual "sleep is very important" answer here. Perhaps we should also consult Thalia, while we're at it.

The sexy multihyphenate has long attracted theories that she's aging in reverse - or, you know, some sort of immortal vampire - so to further explore that argument, we've rounded up photos of her over the last few decades. The results are pretty telling, if we do say so ourselves.

And while there are plenty of luxurious (and pricey!) options available online for the planners among us, that doesn't mean procrastinators or spontaneous day-trippers are out of luck. If you walk down any drugstore sunscreen aisle, you'll find dozens of options. Feeling daunted? We reached out to Sonya Lunder, author of the 2017 Environmental Working Group's Guide to Sunscreens, who filled us in on her top low-cost SPFs and what exactly makes them "safe."

Making the Cut

When curating the safe sunscreen guide, Lunder and her team kept a few obvious factors in mind, such as UVB/UVA protection and the amount of time the product stays active after application. But it doesn't stop there; to be certified by the EWG, Lunder said that an SPF must be "free of hormone disruptors and irritating or allergenic ingredients." To get the EWG's highest green rating, products must boast an impressive blend of "a good safety profile and UV filtering, according to analysis." And even the tiniest of beachgoers can benefit; just today, the EWG released a list of green-rated baby-specific SPFs.

Facing the Facts

So if you're looking to give the department store (or your wallet) a break, Lunder recommended two cheap SPFs that you can probably walk down the block and buy right now. Goddess Garden Facial Natural Sunscreen Tube SPF 30 ($13) is made from zinc and combats rays for up to 40 minutes. Composed of organic ingredients such as essential oils and green tea, it works especially well on sensitive or dry skin.

Protect Your Beach Bod

For the rest of your body, the EWG recommends Bare Republic SPF 30 Clearscreen Sport Sunscreen Gel ($15). It lasts on skin for up to two hours, so you don't need to worry if you get swept away by your beach read or volleyball game. Plus, it has a natural coconut mango scent, which even makes your weekend staycation feel like a tropical paradise.

This Is the Cutest, Easiest Fourth of July Manicure We've Seen All Summer

Coming up with a chic Fourth of July nail art idea can be daunting. If you like to show your Americana spirit on your fingertips, then you'll find an overwhelming number of options out there. You can go with the obvious - stars and stripes - or pick a more unexpected motif: dots.

We're a fan of polka dots since they're preppy, dainty, and eye-catching. Essie celebrity manicurist Michelle Saunders interpreted this idea with a nail design she calls Snap Crackle Pop (featured here) by changing the size of the dots in a gradual way. But she actually turned to fashion as her source of manicure inspiration!

"For Snap Crackle Pop, I was inspired by a sheer white blouse with colorful round beads designed in a unique pattern," she told us. "I thought it would be perfect for nail art." We agree!

Keep reading to learn how to DIY it. Note: Ballet Slippers is used, so you may not even have to buy all new colors.

Kourtney Kardashian and Her Model Beau Jet Off to St.-Tropez For a Romantic Getaway

Kourtney Kardashian and boyfriend Younes Bendjima are still going strong! After touching down in St.-Tropez over the weekend, the couple was spotted holding hands while strolling the streets of the French Rivera town on Monday. Hours later, the two were seen cuddled up on a golf cart as they headed to lunch at the Palmiers restaurant with friends. While Kourtney has yet to make her relationship Instagram official, the mother of three recently shared a photo from her trip on social media, writing, "New phone who dis." Kourtney and Younes first sparked dating rumors when they stepped out for a romantic dinner date in LA back in May, and were later spotted packing on the PDA while vacationing in Cannes.

Behind every great style icon is another great style icon. We wouldn't have our Olivia Palermos and Victoria Beckhams without Audrey Hepburn. Where would the Kardashians and Jenners be without Marilyn Monroe? And we would argue Kate Middleton might have a touch less glamour if she weren't following in the formidable footsteps of Princess Diana. Hey, you don't get a Tod's bag named after you for nothing!

To mark what would have been the Princess of Wales's 56th birthday, we're looking back at her most memorable fashion moments - from the diamonds to the wellies - to celebrate the bold, showstopping, and unapologetic choices that made her the people's princess. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart Are 1 of the Cutest Couples in the Galaxy

Harrison Ford is a notoriously private actor, but when it comes to his relationship with Calista Flockhart, he's actually kind of a softie. After meeting at the 2002 Golden Globes, the two started dating, and Harrison became a father-figure for her adopted son, Liam. Like a true romantic, the Star Wars actor popped the question over Valentine's Day weekend in 2009, and they tied the knot a year later in Santa Fe, New Mexico. While they don't usually indulge the press about their romance, they have shared a number of sweet moments together on the red carpet. See some of their best appearances below.

This Insane Watermelon Skinning Trick Will Make Your Jaw Drop

We all know how to cut watermelon into cubes and slices, but how many times have your guests really been impressed with those shapes? One former NASA engineer, Mark Rober, figured out the coolest party trick that presents the fruit in a way you'd never imagine.

Rober takes two watermelons close in size - the first he skins completely by removing outer slices with a knife, then smooths its surface out with a dish scrub. The second watermelon is cut into two equal halves and then gutted entirely. Place the skinned watermelon into the empty vessel, and you've got yourself a twist-apart melon.

This Summer, We're Spilling the Tea - on Our Hair, to Lighten It!

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Bonnie Burke

Like many brunettes, I spent my Summers squeezing lemon juice onto my hair in hopes of its elusive lightening properties. Since I was a natural hair virgin, it seemed like the only way to go blond. Turns out, I may have been looking in the wrong grocery store aisle. Tea shares many of the same properties as hair dyes, minus the gunky chemicals. From chamomile to English breakfast, there's a flavor out there right for you.

According to this study from The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, brewed green tea creates catechins, antioxidants found in henna and many plant dyes. You can create a rinse by brewing three chamomile teabags. Add a tablespoon of rosemary and sage herbs, and let it sit for a day. Then strain the tea and pour it into a spray bottle. After your next shower, spritz your hair with the mixture and towel-dry. Repeat this ritual until you've reached your desired lightness.

If you're a blonde trying to go darker, simply switch to black tea. It contains caffeine, which also promotes hair growth and which has been used successfully in studies to combat baldness.

The dress featured a low neckline covered by a sheer panel and a tulle train. Keep reading to have a look at the bride's stunning dress, along with the very fashion-forward guest list.

Why You Should Take Your Kid on Vacation as Often as Possible

The author's family at Navy Pier

I'll be the first to admit that the thought of taking my 2-year old anywhere other than the grocery store gives me a mild amount of anxiety. Even relatively simple jaunts to museums and the grandparents' houses require a ridiculous amount of planning, packing, and forethought, and quite frankly, sometimes I just don't want to be bothered. Yet, despite all the baggage that traveling with a toddler comes with (literally and figuratively), I strongly believe that people should take their kids on vacation as far away and as often as possible.

Look, I know that my son isn't really going to get a whole lot out of a trip to Disney World or Jamaica. Chances are he won't even remember it ten years from now when he becomes a surly and brooding teenager playing with whatever gadget is trendy. It doesn't matter that it won't be a lifelong memory. While some people see it as a waste of time, I see something totally different.

He won't remember or appreciate how excited he became when he rode a roller coaster for the first time, or how he jumped and squealed to see his favorite characters from TV in real life, but I will. Taking kids places, while arguably important for them, is also special to the parents. I love watching him explore and challenge himself with new surroundings while getting so joyful about something that he's crying, and these are memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, even if he will likely forget.

Telling a family not to travel until the kids are old enough to appreciate it is a hallmark of entitlement.

Telling a family not to travel until the kids are old enough to appreciate it is a hallmark of entitlement. From that perspective, only the opinions of the children matter and the parents should quietly wait for their kids to mature to the point where travel becomes more easy. Following this advice, as a parent I would not get to travel to interesting places for at least another decade, trapped by my child's limited age.

Of course, I could always drop him off at one of his grandparents' or aunt's houses, but that puts so much pressure on the extended family. Besides the restrictive burden that forcing family members to watch my 2-year old, I'm hesitant to do that because, surprise-surprise, I like hanging out with him. As much as flying to a new country and pretending that my husband and I are carefree travelers without children back home, we're just not, and I'm ok with that.

We are currently planning a trip to Poland with my husband's family so we can see where my father-in-law grew up and are planning on bringing our son. This will likely be the only time that our family will get to travel together and my son will get to be in his heritage country with his Papa, and I am not about to not take him because of his age. He will have photos and fragmented memories as a reminder that he got to do something amazing with people who love him.

The author's son ignoring the Chicago skyline

One of the many things I've learned about children in my time as a parent is that kids might not appreciate things in the way you expect or hope but they do so in their own way. Although I might be hoping that he appreciates the grand architecture of a European capital, he might be most interested in chasing pigeons along the cobblestone street and eating a fresh Pączki from a street vendor. Just because it's not an adult's perspective on traveling doesn't make it any less valuable or real.

If I want my son to be a citizen of the world, I cannot and should not shield him from it. Of course, traveling is expensive and as much as I would like to say that we are planning on taking him anywhere and everywhere, we just can't swing it. However, the vacations that we do take will be special and meaningful to each of us in our own unique way. The cost of travel is prohibitive enough without having to factor in whether or not some stranger is judging me from the airplane terminal just because we are deciding to take our son on an adventure.

As often as I can afford it, we are taking our son on trips because everyone deserves a little vacation, even if the memories won't last a lifetime.

42 Epic Birthday-Cake Fails

The effort parents put into having a special birthday cake for their children is deserving of a slow-clap standing ovation. Be it store-bought or homemade, birthday cakes are basically the most important part of a child's birthday, so we do whatever it takes to get them the confectionary of their dreams (even if it doesn't always pan out). Maybe that is why I literally can't stop laughing at these birthday cake fails. I'm actually a pretty terrible cake decorator, and because misery loves company, I absolutely love all these images.

Men Cannot Tell the Difference Between These 2 Distinct Lip Colors and It's Hilarious

Any makeup-lover knows that there's no such thing as having too many red lipsticks. Whether there's a pink tint, a purple undertone, or even a warm glow, we can confidently say that no two reds are the same, but boyfriends on Twitter don't seem to agree. Twitter user poeticting got the hilarious debate going when she tweeted a photo of two red Milani lip colors side-by-side and wrote, "Men will deadass tell you these two are the same color."

After one quick glance at these colors, we can see the difference! The one on the left is definitely darker than the shade on the right . . . and she had the evidence to prove it. The woman responded to her original tweet with swatches of the two shades and the names of the colors.

But after putting her man to the test, the Twitter user was pleasantly surprised to find her boyfriend noticing the obvious differences between the two shades, seen below.

As for other boyfriends on Twitter, not so much. Check out some of the hilarious responses below.

Men, take note: not all red makeup shades are the same. The Amore Matte Lip Crème ($9) in Striking is clearly darker and warmer than the Amore shade. If your man can tell the difference between the two colors, he's a keeper!

The Keepers: Where to Sign the Petition For the Archdiocese to Release Father Maskell Files

The mystery of who killed Sister Cathy Cesnik might remain unsolved, but there's no denying that The Keepers has brought investigators one step closer to figuring out what really happened. In addition to inspiring internet sleuths to come up with a few intriguing theories about the 1969 murder, the Netflix documentary has also prompted the creation of a Change.org petition demanding transparency from the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The petition, which now has over 12,000 signatures, specifically asks for the release of their files on A. Joseph Maskell, the priest at the heart of the murder investigation.

Although Father Maskell denied accusations that he had anything to do with Cesnik's murder up until his death in 2001, the former teacher at Baltimore's Archbishop Keogh High School is widely believed to have orchestrated the crime. Cesnik, an English teacher at the school, figured out that Maskell (along with another priest at Keogh) was sexually abusing a number of female students and was likely going to bring the information to the authorities. She was murdered under mysterious circumstances before that could ever happen, but the ongoing investigation into her death points at Maskell's involvement.

The petition's Change.org page asks the Baltimore Archdiocese to release whatever files they have on Father Maskell. "The release of these documents will restore public trust in the Archdiocese, and confirm the Archdiocese statements regarding their handling of the sexual abuse claims," the petition's description reads. "This petition requests that the Archdiocese of Baltimore release their files regarding A. Joseph Maskell, who is now deceased, in an effort to thoroughly investigate all avenues that may have led to the murder of Cathy Cesnik in 1969."

So far, it doesn't look like the Archdiocese has been swayed by the petition since they claim releasing any files is against their policy (which echoes a similar comment they left on Reddit during The Keepers director Ryan White's AMA). "Archdiocesan policy and state law would preclude us from disclosing much of the information in them as they include confidential personal information (e.g. names of alleged sexual abuse victims), personnel records, health records, attorney-client communications, personally identifying information (such as social security numbers), etc.," they said.

Although Maskell was never charged, The Baltimore Sun reported that, since 2011, the Archdiocese has paid over $472,000 in settlements to 16 women who accused Maskell of sexual abuse.

How to Respond When Your Kids Start Masturbating

Many parents find it superawkward when their kids start masturbating, but it's not only normal, it's healthy. Readers often ask each other how they should respond, especially when kids masturbate in public. There's one fairly common denominator among the responses: teach your child appropriate boundaries without making them feel ashamed. The question is . . . how?

What's Normal?

According to the University of Michigan's Development and Behavior Resources program, the vast majority of kids discover their genitals and the pleasure they can bring by age 6. While discussions seem to revolve mostly around boys and girls who are in the 10 to 13 range, whatever age your child is at when she or he makes this discovery is the time to start discussing when and where this behavior is appropriate.

Carrie A.'s two kids (ages 10 and 13) have been taught that masturbation is fine in the privacy of their bedroom or bathroom, and not in other places. She has promised them she won't come in without knocking, and she always waits for them to say, "Come in." This seems like a respectful approach, and one that will likely build trust in her family.

Door-locking is not allowed in Tisha P.'s home, but her kids, too, know that they have privacy behind the closed doors of their bedrooms. For safety reasons, she has asked her kids to never use objects (only hands), and to wash their hands when they're finished. Beyond that, they are allowed to explore their bodies freely in private.

Should You Respond Differently to Girls vs. Boys?

There does, perhaps not surprisingly, seem to be a discrepancy between parental perceptions of boys versus girls when it comes to masturbation. Many moms see it as normal for boys, but somewhat disturbing when girls do it. This is likely the result of deep cultural biases that many of us hold unconsciously.

Lesley comments that "we seem to find boys exploring their bodies a much more acceptable practice." But she has an 11-year-old daughter and adds that she would rather know that her child is exploring her own body rather than "letting someone else do the 'exploring'" as her daughter enters her teen years.

Eva W. suggests to moms who have discomfort around this to "do some soul searching" to try to understand why you have such difficulty accepting what doctors and psychologists say is perfectly normal behavior. In other words, trying to untangle your own hang-ups can go a long way toward helping your child grow up without shame regarding her body. Eva is walking the talk: she has begun talking about puberty and basic reproduction to her 10-year-old twins, as she believes these are related topics that parents should proactively pursue.

The common-sense takeaway here is that kids age 10-13 clearly understand that certain things are to be done at certain places and times. For example, we eat dinner in the early evening, at the table in the kitchen. We take a bath in the bathroom before we go to bed. It's not a great leap for them to understand that masturbation, like going to the toilet, is private.

How did you handle your child's discovery of masturbation?

Kendall Jenner Inspired Me to Go Braless - and I'm Really Glad She Did

There isn't a ton that Kendall Jenner and I have in common: I'm not a top model, my family isn't rich or famous, and I definitely don't have people - fans, paparazzi, the media, etc. - dying to know my every move. But one thing KJ and I do share? The fact that genetics have blessed us with fairly small chests. Only I wasn't as happy about it as she was.

Growing up, and especially in high school and most of college, I was obsessed with wearing a bra, solely because I hated the way my clothes - and maybe my body in general - looked without one. A quick trip the store? I "needed" to wear a bra. Sleepover with friends? That baby wasn't coming off. I didn't own a single piece without padding because life and my outfits looked "better" with cleavage.

Even after gaining confidence as I got older, you'd rarely catch me without a little something to give me a little something. But then, in 2014, something changed: Kendall Jenner truly exploded onto the fashion scene, rocking a fully sheer top in Marc Jacobs' Fall '14 show - and it turns out the girl, small chest and all, didn't care a bit that she was exposed. Later that year, she showed up at Coachella in a sweatshirt that said "I Have No T*ts," and was soon (and still is) speaking out about her love of going braless and showing her nipples. She admittedly thinks it's a sexy look.

"I really don't see what the big deal is with going braless," Kendall wrote in a blog post on her site called "Free the Nipple". "I think it's cool and I really just don't care! It's sexy, it's comfortable, and I'm cool with my breasts. That's it!"

Perhaps it's because I frequently write about the model for work, but slowly, I've started to see what Kendall is talking about. Through street style alone, she and other women have shown me that a variety of outfits do look good sans that extra support, even more so if you have small breasts. More importantly, Kendall seems supercomfortable and confident with her body, and I've started to feel silly worrying about how I looked in certain shirts or whether or not someone can see my nipples. (The no-nipple thing has truly started to seem weird to me - it's just a body part!)

It's strange to type, but Kendall going braless and then talking about it inspired me to do the same. Bodysuits that show some side-boob? I'm down. Dresses where even a strapless bra will stick out? It's time to go au naturel. I'll now take trips to the store, meet up with friends, and even spend date-night dinners without a bra, and it's a lifestyle/trend I've grown to love.

So if you're addicted to your bra like I was, dare yourself to ditch it for a day. I promise, once you try it, you might just feel freer, more confident, and - just like Kendall - a bit sexy, too.

This Woman Asked For "Round Nails" From the Salon and the Result Is Horrifying!

Manicures are supposed to be a relaxing ritual. There's nothing better than leaving the salon with fresh new nails. But a woman in Britain may have had the craziest mani since Elle Woods made Paulette steal her dog back from her evil ex-husband.

Angela Blemmings is a nail technician in Dukinfield, UK. She counts her niece Emma Jones as a loyal customer. Except for one recent manicure, when, as Blemmings put it, Jones went to a new salon, "without doing her research." At £35 (about $45), it wasn't exactly an inexpensive appointment. Jones made a (pretty simple) request for round tips, and ended up leaving the salon sporting an extremely literal interpretation of that style.

Blemmings posted a picture of Jones' nails to Facebook, writing that she "couldn't believe [her] eyes." Since this is what manicure nightmares are made of, people were quick to respond with total disbelief. The post was shared over 10,000 times, with one user commenting, "This is shocking, no words!"

Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. Blemmings came to the rescue of her niece, taking the time to fix the nails herself. Jones now rocks a red and metallic silver mani with floral accents on her pinkies. Her tips are notably square now. That's right, Jones still doesn't have the rounded nails she wanted. But after that experience, we can hardly blame her.

Outlander's Sam Heughan Teases a Season 3 Surprise That Will Blow Everyone's Minds

When Outlander premiered in 2014 on Starz, the historical drama immediately captured the hearts of both fans of Diana Gabaldon's original book series as well as plenty of newcomers who couldn't help but fall in love with the fantasy romance. Part of the rabid obsession with the series is owed to its two fantastic leads, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, whose onscreen relationship as Claire and Jamie is one of TV's most electric. Since we're currently in the midst of one hell of a Droughtlander until season three returns, we decided to go right to the source and hopped on the phone with Heughan to pump him for details. Although he didn't give up all the goods (he's a true Scottish gentleman, after all), he teased everything from the big surprises fans should expect to see in the new episodes to what it's like to age two decades between seasons.

POPSUGAR: I have to say, I really love the interactions you have with Outlander fans on social media. It seems like there are few fandoms that are as strong and supportive as Outlander's, and the cast seems to have a great relationship with them.

Sam Heughan: I think we have possibly the best fans - actually, I know we have the best fans that there are. They're so supportive of what we do, and they're extremely passionate and enthusiastic. They're very discerning as well. They don't take any crap. We started out making the show ultimately for the fans, but we've gathered new fans as well as fans of the books. We just love to interact with them. Sometimes we don't get the chance to, or have enough time to, but it's been great meeting some of them. It's been amazing. After almost three years, you can really feel the relationship with them.

PS: I bet. Have you had any particularly memorable moments with any of them?

SH: Yeah! Last year I was the grand marshal of the Tartan Day parade in New York City, and for me that was a great experience. To be in New York, and lead this march down Sixth Avenue . . . we had a lot of fans there, and not only Outlander fans, but also My Peak Challenge fans, my charity lifestyle program. It was just great to have everyone there celebrating Scotland, and celebrating their Scottish heritage. It was a really special thing.

PS: Is there anything in the upcoming season that might take diehard fans of the books by surprise?

SH: We always try to stick as close as we can to the books, but obviously it's hard to make a book episodic. I think there is going to be stuff in there that the fans will recognize since we put in as much detail as possible, but there's some really incredible moments. Certainly the beginning of season three is a slight deviation from the book. We're going to be showing a bit of Culloden, and what happened to Jamie. You're going to see it, and I think it's important since we talked about this battle, and that the Highlanders are doomed, and that they might be wiped out. It's a reward for the fans. There's one moment in particular that I didn't even know we were going to shoot, and I know the crew didn't, and everyone was like, "What the hell is this?!" There are some big surprises, but there are also some great moments from the book that we try to stick to as much as possible.

PS: There's going to be a sizable time jump in season three, which we already got a taste of at the end of the last season in Claire's storyline. As an actor, are you approaching the role of Jamie differently now that so many years have passed and he's essentially a different man?

SH: In book three, Jamie is many characters. He's at least three, maybe four different things to people. He has different names, and basically he doesn't want to be Jamie Fraser. He wants to die at the end of season two, and he goes into battle thinking he will. To live is not part of the plan, and certainly without Claire, it's even more so not what he was expecting. He has to learn to fight again, and find purpose in his life. Aging became not about giving him a walking stick and gray hair. It became more about the experiences that he's lived, and how that changes him. I think he is, at times, unrecognizable. Sometimes we see the Jamie we know, but it will be a journey for him to get back to being James Fraser.

PS: We've seen that Jamie and Claire's love is incredibly strong, but this long period without each other has to take its toll. In what ways would you say their relationship is going to be challenged?

SH: In his mind she's dead. She's in the future living a different life, and she thinks he's dead. They both create new lives without each other to try to survive and cope, so you can imagine that when they do finally reunite, it's going to be quite special. Time has passed, they've become different people, but they do have this great love for each other and this great bond. Ultimately that's their saving grace, and what brings them back together. They have so much history. It's really wonderful to play these characters who have moved on from where they were in season one, but hopefully you'll still see bits of what attracted them to each other in the first place.

PS: You and Caitriona seem to have such a close friendship off set - does that make it easier for you both to play husband and wife?

SH: Ultimately, yeah. Caitriona and I get on very well, and I'm very lucky. She's extremely talented and an extremely nice person, and we have a lot of fun. Actually, having scenes away from her, and time apart from her, is kind of like losing someone in your family. A loved one. It's very strange, and I don't enjoy it. Whenever we're together it feels right, and I look forward to the days when we get to work together again.

You can buy the Collector's Edition of Outlander's second season on Blu-ray now.

There were tons of celebrities who slipped into sexy swimsuits last year. Now that Summer is finally here, we're looking back at some of the hottest moments, including Jessica Simpson's Mexican getaway with her family and Hilary Duff's Hawaiian trip. The Next Time You Hop On the Treadmill, Do This to Burn More Calories

Between the extreme heat and humidity, and Summer thunderstorms, unpredictable weather this time of year may be one reason to take refuge in your trusty ol' gym. Treadmills might feel safer and more controlled, but you might even find the workout feels a little easier. Don't sell yourself short! Use these tips to upgrade your treadmill time and maximize the benefits of your run.

To Burn More Calories

  • Do intervals: Running at a consistent pace is great for longer training runs, but during shorter workouts, increase the intensity by including speed intervals. By alternating between running a few minutes at a moderate pace and throwing in bursts at a quicker pace (or even sprinting), you'll burn more calories, build endurance, and become a faster, stronger runner. Not to mention, intervals have also been proven to fight belly fat. Here's a 30-minute treadmill interval workout for you to try.
  • Gradually increase your speed throughout your workout: Running faster burns more calories, and since you don't want to start your run at a seven mile per hour (mph) pace, start out with a brisk walk (four mph) and every two to five minutes, give your speed a little push until you're running at a five to eight mph pace.
  • Run longer: It's good to mix up the type of running workouts you do, so on days that you're not running intervals or building up speed, do a longer run at a consistent pace. If you run for 30 minutes (at a pace of 10 minutes per mile) you'll burn 270 calories. Forty-five minutes burns 405 calories, and an hourlong run burns 540 calories.

To Strengthen Your Muscles

  • Raise the incline: Hills help to target your thighs, calves, and booty, so pump up the incline and you'll notice a little extra power in your lower body. Doing hill work will also help prevent shin splints.
  • Incorporate walking lunges: Slow down the speed, take wider steps, and do walking lunges to tone your tush and legs.
  • Let go of the handles and pump your arms: Using your upper body while running not only tones your biceps, triceps, and shoulders, but since you're balancing without holding on, you'll also tone your core.

To Increase Your Speed

  • Incorporate tempo runs: If you want to run faster, you must practice running at a faster pace. Tempo work involves running slightly faster than your normal, comfortable pace for a steady period of time. After warming up, set your desired pace on the treadmill and run. The treadmill is like a metronome forcing you to keep tempo.
  • Practice negative splits: This technique involves running the second half of a run at a faster pace than the first half. It seems like it might make your total time slower, but conserving your energy in the beginning and allowing your muscles to warm up will actually help you comfortably increase your pace on the second half of your workout, so you end up with a faster time. • Include intervals with incline: Throughout your workout, periodically raise the incline for a few minutes to represent the hills you'd find on a trail run. Then when you lower the slope to a flat position, you'll feel stronger and be able to run much faster.
