The Completely Addictive Method For Grilling Burgers
I've grilled many burgers in my day, many of which were decent but none of which were restaurant-quality - that is, until I learned this technique from America's Test Kitchen. It's by far the most foolproof way to grill a burger with a charred exterior and juicy pink interior. Try it for your next cookout, and prepare for everyone to ask for the secret!
11 Reasons It Was Sweet to Be a '90s Kid
Sometimes we wish we could go back to a time when Fresh Prince was king, our greatest responsibility was making sure our Tamagotchi was fed, and candy was sweet, sour, and simple. There are near-countless reasons we're proud to be '90s girls, but the sweetest of them all was stashed in the candy aisle. Let's take a trip down memory lane with these iconic treats of our childhood.
United Airlines Forces Mom to Hold Her 25-Pound Toddler in Her Lap the Entire Flight
If parents want anything less than a nightmarish travel experience, they'd be wise to avoid United Airlines. The latest incident involved a mom forced to hold her 2-year-old toddler in her lap for the entire three-and-a-half-hour flight despite having bought her child a ticket - which just so happens to be what is required by law.
How did this happen?
Shirley Yamauchi, a middle school teacher from Hawaii, was en route to a teacher's conference in Boston last week with her son Taizo, whose ticket cost as much as hers - roughly $1,000 each. She and her son had both taken their seats aboard the plane when a man approached saying Taizo was in his seat.
"I told him, 'I bought both of these tickets,'" she said in a video interview with Hawaii News Now. "The flight attendant came by, shrugs and says, 'flight's full.'"
In shock, Shirley was afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation: "I started remembering all those incidents of United on the news - the violence, teeth being knocked out. I'm Asian . . . I felt uncomfortable. I didn't want those things to happen to me."
So instead, the mom was forced to surrender her child's seat despite the fact that she was required by law to have one. According to the Federal Aviation Administration and United's own ticketing guidelines, children over the age of 2 must have a purchased ticket and occupy a seat.
"I had to move my son on to my lap," she said. "He's 25 pounds. He's half my height."
United issued a full refund in addition to an apology. Apparently, the spokesperson said, Taizo's boarding pass had been incorrectly scanned and that because the child wasn't logged into the system, his seat was released to a standby passenger.
The airline's "goodwill gesture" doesn't change Shirley's terrible experience. "I was very uncomfortable," she said. "My left arm was smashed up against the wall. I lost feeling in my legs and left arm. At the every end, he was standing up between my knees."
Alicia Vikander's Polka-Dot Bikini Is Sure to be a Summer Hit
While vacationing in Formentera, Spain, Alicia Vikander was spotted relaxing on a boat with boyfriend, actor Michael Fassbender. While some people might have been staring at her shirtless boyfriend, we were way more interested in Alicia's amazing bikini.
The Oscar winner, who is currently filming the Tomb Raider reboot, wore a burgundy bikini by & Other Stories. Alicia's halterneck design features a polka-dot print and flirty frills on both the top and bottom. Have a look at the sweet-as-can-be bikini set, and shop the same style for your own swimsuit rotation.
Models Walked Down the Runway With Shampoo in Their Hair at This Couture Show
"Boring" is certainly not among the words you'd use to describe the hair and makeup at Maison Margiela's latest runway show. On July 5, the brand presented their avant-garde Fall 2017 collection at Couture Fashion Week in Paris with models sporting gilded hair, metallic lips, and a lot of shampoo.
Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman was behind the show's futuristic looks. The hairstyles really varied from extremely slicked and practically greasy-looking strands to hair so clean there was a mound of shampoo sitting atop it. Several models were given the former. For example, Bella Hadid's roots were heavily coated in gold glitter. Other models sported glittery blue roots in a shade reminiscent of Pat McGrath's UltraViolet Blue eye shadow.
It's therefore unsurprising that McGrath was responsible for Maison Margiela's inexplicably brilliant makeup. Classic red lips appeared more dramatic with the use of metallic foil, and bleached eyebrows added an additionally severe element. Meanwhile, the eye makeup was kept startlingly scarce with no discernible use of mascara, eyeliner, or eye shadow.
Though most of the makeup and hair looks would not translate seamlessly into everyday life, there's something about on-the-go shampoo hairstyle that we may re-create ourselves - albeit unintentionally. Look ahead to see Maison Margiela's over-the-top beauty.
Nars's New Powermatte Pigments Are a Lipstick-Lover's Dream
Glossy lips might be making a comeback to the beauty scene but matte lipsticks are still very much on trend, and Nars's latest launch is proof. We can already thank the brand for creating some of our favorite lip products (we're looking at you Velvet Matte Lip Pencil), and now Nars is expanding its lineup with the new Powermatte Lip Pigment collection.
The new line features 20 opaque shades that provide rich pigment in one swipe and dry down to a smooth matte finish. Like the brand's existing lip colors, there's an array of options to complement any makeup style from bold to minimal. If you prefer muted colors, you can opt for shades like American Woman or Get It On. You can add to your collection of reds with electric options like Don't Stop, Push Play, and Light My Fire. There's even a midnight black shade (Paint it Black) for grungy gals.
Unlike other formulas that dry out your lips or transfer after a meal, the Powermatte pigments stay in place for hours without feeling like paper on our pout. You can snag the bold colors now at narscosmetics.com for $26 and at Sephora on July 13. Read on for a better look at each hue and swatches ahead.
MAC Dazzleglass Is BACK! See Every Shimmering Shade Here
When a beauty product gets discontinued, it's always a little bittersweet. Yes, it's exciting to think about new releases, but what do you reach for when your go-to is nixed? If you mourned the end of MAC Dazzleglass last year, get ready for some great news. The glittery fun cousin of the also amazing Lipglass is back! And you don't have to wait - it's available right now.
Just a reminder: Dazzleglass ($17) is made of light-reflecting particle pearls that make your lips shine bright like a diamond. Or a human geode. On top of that, it effortlessly glides onto your lips, hydrating them and leaving a nice conditioner to pamper your pout. Your smile will smell like vanilla and look like a light-reflecting disco ball.
Plus, the shades are positively electric. We're loving Comet Blue, which carries shades of violet. Extra Amps, a sheer bright blue pink, is what '90s lipgloss dreams are made of. Get Rich Quick is a warm yellow brown, and is so gorgeous that people might actually walk up to you on the street and give you money just for wearing it. Take a peek for yourself, and let us know which Dazzleglass is your favorite.
These All-Stuf Oreos May Have Been a Prank . . . but Would You Try Them?
For real 💯💯👌 http://pic.twitter.com/hMb92ng7bR
- Adam Padilla (@AdamPadilla) April 2, 2017
Oreo fans worldwide simultaneously sighed with relief and cried out in disappointment when it was revealed that "All-Stuf Oreos" were simply a clever April Fools' Day prank from Twitter artist Adam Padilla. Reactions to the prank product, which claimed to be "just the creme" from traditional Oreos cookies, were mixed, from those who found the idea abhorrent:
What kind of person hiding a demon in their body would want just the cream?
- Chocolate Tal (@BitchPuddingO_o) March 31, 2017
To those who would buy a pack in a heartbeat:
They really sell Oreos with just the creme filling? I need that.
- mom (@JennBeautiful) March 31, 2017
But where do you fall on the scale? If Oreo was to produce discs of just creme filling, would you buy in? Let us know by voting in the poll below!
Mom Warns About the Common Bedroom Item That Killed Her Infant
Jordan DeRosier, a heartbroken mom from Washington, shared her grief in a Facebook post after suddenly losing her 7-month-old son when he became entangled in his blanket at bedtime.
The incident seemed innocent enough at first but resulted in any mother's worst nightmare. "He was laid down with this blanket made by his great-grandmother, and one other blanket, a grey one he had been attached to since birth," she said.
According to the mother of two, tragedy struck when her son Sloan somehow pulled the blanket over his head and got it stuck between the bars of his crib.
Her post serves as a cautionary tale to parents begging them to reconsider putting their infants to bed with loose blankets until they're older. "You never think it will be your baby," she warned. "Please do not put your baby to bed with a blanket. Please. He was 7 months old. I thought because he was crawling, standing on his own, and climbing that he would be fine with a blanket."
DeRosier's emotional post also counters comments that blame vaccinations for her son's untimely death. "To those who keep commenting and messaging trying to blame vaccines for our son's death - stop," she wrote.
A 2016 report from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says that approximately 3,500 infants die annually in the US from sleep-related deaths, including sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), ill-defined deaths, and accidental suffocation and strangulation."
The AAP recommends waiting until the child is at least 1 year old before introducing any blankets, bumpers, or sheets into the crib to avoid any breathing obstructions and overheating.
Olivia Culpo Redefines the String Bikini in Her Sexiest Swimsuit Yet
Olivia Culpo is no stranger to a sexy Instagram-approved swimsuit, but her latest bikini has us seriously wishing we could trade closets. The former Miss Universe recently vacationed in Turks and Caicos with her boyfriend Danny Amendola, where she rocked a gorgeous Indah macrame swimsuit, taking the "string bikini" to an entire new level.
She may not be posing to show the backside of her bikini, but it's the thick waistband and thong bottom that have our eyes wide. The macrame triangle suit hugs Olivia's hips in an incredibly flattering way. We have to admit it, we're usually going for neon two-pieces or curve-grabbing white one-pieces to show off a glow, but Olivia has us convinced that neutral bikinis bring out your tan and look just as sexy.
Keep reading to see Olivia's photos in the Indah bikini and shop similar macrame styles.
Lauren Conrad's a New Mom, but We'll Never Forget Her Maternity Style
After giving us some great maternity style moments, Lauren Conrad finally gave birth to a baby boy. But don't expect this star's signature style to ever change. All you need to do is take a glance at her past outfits - a mix of maxi dresses, floral prints, and clean silhouettes - to see that Lauren has a tendency to stick to what she loves and what works for her body. She even launched a maternity line featuring many of the same styles she rocks.
The star isn't one to embrace crazy red carpet or runway trends; instead, she opts for safe, familiar pieces she can wear time and time again. It's one reason her other clothing line, Paper Crown, is such a hit with fans. We don't blame this new mama for sticking to what she knows; it's how you craft a signature look in the first place.
10 Stores Urban Outfitters Fanatics Will Go Crazy For
Having a go-to shopping destination is like having an old friend you can always rely on for style advice (aside from the whole payment for goods part, of course). Whether you're in a fashion funk and need a boost or hunting for a last-minute look, you know you can count on your default destination - and for many of us, that destination is Urban Outfitters. With a hybrid vibe of quirky, vintage, sexy, and trendy, the Philly-born retailer always offers an instant shot of effortlessly cool style. But change is good and a girl's always gotta have options (shoptions, if you will), so why not try mixing it up? If you're ready to diversify your retail roster, here are 10 stores to try ASAP to find that same great style:
Pippa Middleton's Summer Shoes Are the Ones You've Been Looking For All Season
After stepping out in a lacey Self-Portrait dress at Wimbledon, Pippa Middleton slipped into a more casual outfit for errands. She wore a floral tank with white cuffed pants and covered up with a scalloped blazer. A sophisticated cream and black bag complemented her feminine look. Though Pippa's outfit was fairly standard, her shoes were noticeably the trendiest part of her look.
She chose a pair of black lace-up sandals that tie in the front and come equipped with a tiny heel. The style's been popular for awhile now, and Pippa's particular pair is one that has a lot of mileage. They matched her polished trousers, but could just as easily be worn with jeans or a going-out dress. Looks like Pippa's found her shoes of the Summer, and you can too with similar picks ahead.
The 10 Best Strapless Bras You'll Be Glad to Have This Summer

Leave It to Nicole Kidman to Make the Spice Girls' "Wannabe" Sound Sexual
If you're a late '80s or early '90s kid, chances are you spent a large portion of your childhood being obsessed with the Spice Girls. The girl band blessed the world with so many hits, one of them being the iconic anthem "Wannabe." In honor of the song's 21st birthday (feel old yet?), W magazine assembled some major Hollywood stars to perform it for the latest installment of its Lyrical Improv series. Nicole Kidman, Millie Bobby Brown, Milo Ventimiglia, Alexander Skarsgard, James Franco, Riz Ahmed, and others all came together to promote girl power, but one person stands out among the rest. Nicole, who has shown off her musical skills before with husband Keith Urban, makes the entire thing sound sexual in a way only she can. And it's oddly relaxing? Click play to see what we mean.
Visit This City If You Can't Get Enough Gelato
You can find gelato on just about any given square foot in Rome. Sometimes it's good; sometimes it's excellent - and it's almost never bad. That's why some readers may find my list accurate, while others may consider it controversial or even downright infuriating. You left off Giolitti?! You like chain gelaterias?! Nevertheless, I've narrowed down my three favorite gelaterias in Rome - each incredibly addictive for different reasons - after living there for four months and embarking on the brave task to eat it every day (sometimes twice a day). I encourage you all to try the same noble investigation.
Before you begin your own Mission Find the Best Gelato in Rome, though, it's useful to know a few tricks for scoping out the good stuff vs. the fake stuff. Your best tool is your eyes. First, notice the colors of the gelato. Take pistachio, for example. Do you see a mountain of bright green fluff, or do you see a paler tone that looks more like what would actually result if you mixed pistachios with milk and sugar? Opt for gelato that you can tell isn't full of artificial coloring. Then, do a quick sweep of the shop. If you see a kitchen or workshop in the back, that's a good sign. It means they're probably making the gelato on site instead of shipping it in from another producer. Finally, use your taste buds. "Posso provare?" means "Can I try?" and it will probably become your most-used Italian phrase.
Without further delay and in no particular order, here are my favorites.
Venchi
Reason to visit: Ultrarich gelato in chocolate-dipped cones
Venchi is known worldwide for chocolate, but when I think of the shop, I think of gelato, particularly, its densely rich, devilishly good nougatine flavor. Inspired by Venchi's caramelized hazelnut and chocolate candies, the gelato has an intense chocolate base with a coating of caramel and finely chopped hazelnuts. Other standouts are strawberry, mango, and Cremino Venchi (a white chocolate and almond gianduja number). The chain is great for a few other reasons besides taste, though. First, employees are trained to gently fold the gelato several times before they add it to your cup or cone, which results in a light, airy, and spectacularly soft scoop. And even better, Venchi offers the city's - nope, the WORLD'S - best dipped cones. For an extra euro, ask for your cone to be dunked in melted dark chocolate and rolled in chocolate shavings. You will get chocolate all over your face, and you might not be able to move for a couple of hours, but that is a small, small price to pay.
Gelateria del Teatro
Reason to visit: Consistently awesome, pleasantly flavored gelato
If I had to pick a single favorite gelateria in Rome, I'd pick Gelateria del Teatro. I went so many times that I lost count, and I miss it with great fondness. There are just two locations of this family-run business, which values natural, fresh ingredients and attentive gelato making. There's something for everyone, from the picky to the adventurous, from vegans to dairy-lovers. My favorites are coconut (which incorporates small shreds of the fruit and tastes just like the real thing), tartufo (a rich four-chocolate gelato flecked with pieces of sponge cake), and lavender white peach (a light, sweet flavor I couldn't find anywhere else). Try this place once, and you'll likely find yourself coming back to try every flavor. If you're a regular customer, you might even get offered to attend a free gelato tasting, pictured below.
Fatamorgana
Reason to visit: Adventurous flavors
Sure, Fatamorgana has your standard straciatella and coffee flavors, but the real thrill lies in the shop's riskier creations. You could spend 10 minutes deciding between its selection of 100 percent natural gelati. The shop features downright wacky combinations of unusual fruits, spices, and even tea and booze. My favorites? The pecorino cheese with chestnuts, honey, and orange peel that has all the nuttiness of pecorino, balanced with the sweetness of honey and a surprising touch of orange. Basil with walnuts and honey tastes like you're smelling the freshest sprig of basil. Fatamorgana has the power to reverse any sour mood you feel, as it will genuinely move you to realize that gelato can taste so good. I'd advise savoring your ice cream in a cup so you can appreciate the flavors without the interference of a waffle cone.
Give these shops a try the next time you find yourself in Rome - or use your newfound gelato knowledge to find some favorites of your own.
What 1 Mom Wants You to Know About the Day She "Forgot" Her Baby in a Hot Car
Despite being nervous about what others would think of her, Britta Eberle made the bold decision to publicly admit that she did the one thing that most "good" parents assume they could never be capable of: she forgot her baby in a car.
"I was hesitant to share my story because I was worried that it made me look like a bad mom. But then I realized that many parents have probably had this exact same feeling and kept it bottled inside because it is so hard to talk about it," Britta told POPSUGAR. "I wanted to share my experience to raise awareness because if I could do this then anyone could do it. I never thought I was capable of making a mistake like this until I did."
Britta explained that when she and her family arrived at a friend's house, she "did the unthinkable" and didn't realize that 2-year-old Ava was still in the car. "In our excitement we all darted out, assuming that someone else had remembered to grab the youngest member of our clan," she wrote on her Facebook page, This Is Motherhood.
However, in the heat of the moment, nobody remembered the toddler, and Britta shared that her little girl sat in the car for around 20 minutes before somebody realized. "It was such a small mistake but it could have had devastating consequences," she wrote. "Thank god we were parked in a safe place. Thank god it wasn't hot outside. Thank god she wasn't alone for long. Thank god she has already forgotten about it and forgiven us."
Despite Ava's "forgiveness," it will be a long time before Britta is able to let go of this incident, and she hopes that other moms will learn from her instead of shaming her:
I usually think I'm a good mom. But I made a huge mistake today and I feel terrible. There are no excuses for what I did. And part of me doesn't want to share this. I don't want the world to know how badly I've failed. But then I think that I have to share this. I have to own up to my mistakes. I have to tell the world how far I am from perfect. And how if I did this, anyone could do this. And that scares me but also makes me judge a little less and makes me pay attention whole lot more.
Instead of any number of tragic alternatives, Britta was able to snuggle her baby girl to bed that night and appreciate just how "incredibly lucky" she and her family are. "We are always so much closer to the edge than any of us realize," she wrote. "Hug your babies tight and practice forgiveness. Forgive those that make mistakes, even if the person who you need to forgive is yourself."
This Bride Got Married in the Gorgeous Italian Countryside, But Her Wedding Dress Stole the Show
Margherita Cardelli, a luxury and lifestyle consultant, married Gerardo Cavaliere in a romantic ceremony in the Italian countryside. The couple also cofounded the Naples-based brand Giuliva Heritage Collection. Considering the bride's fine taste, you better believe her wedding dress was one for the books.
Margherita wore a stunning long-sleeved wedding gown that skimmed the ground. She styled the minimalist sheath with a simple floral crown. Some of the notable guests included Italian designer Margherita Missoni and the couple's adorable dog Gaston. Read on to have a look at the gorgeous couple's wedding.
One Look at Gigi Hadid's Jeans, and Denim Might Never Be the Same Again
If Gigi Hadid's outfit looks familiar, that's because she's worn the combination before: white separates, her go-to Stalvey bag, and some long gold necklaces, all finished with standout, look-at-me jeans. While Gigi's Y/Project denim is deconstructed, her flares come with a kick - they've got belt buckle straps secured around the thighs. Read on to zoom in on the unique design, a modern twist on a classic, high-waisted silhouette from the '70s, then shop denim with similar details to make everybody look twice, even if you're just wearing white.
13 Spellbinding Photos of Gorgeous People With Albinism
Israel-based photographer Yulia Taits is back with the second iteration of her Porcelain Beauty series, featuring people with Albinism. In case you are not familiar with it, people with albinism are born with the complete or partial absence of pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes. And as Taits's photos prove, it can look absolutely gorgeous.
Her goal was to spotlight their hypnotic beauty, which she described on her Facebook page as seemingly like it was "taken from fantasies and fairy tale legends." Albinism can also cause vision defects, so we don't want to downplay that there are serious side affects. That said, we will always celebrate uniqueness at POPSUGAR.
We asked Taits why she decided to do a second round of images. "This project went viral in few days, and I was amazed how many positive feedback it got from people around the world," she told POPSUGAR via email. "What's really melted my heart was the feedback from people with albinism and their parents. They said how they appreciate my art and how this project make people with albinism feel beautiful and confident in the way they are. That's the main reason I decided to create second part of this project with new models."
Major props to Taits for showing how ethereal this condition can be and helping to empower those in its community. Keep reading to see the images from her new series!
Praise Be - Drake Might Appear in Season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale
We already figured that season two of The Handmaid's Tale is going to be a little insane (Where did the Eyes take Offred?! Is Ofglen alive?! What's going to happen with Luke and Moira?!), but Margaret Atwood has an even better idea of how to spice things up. The Handmaid's Tale author and proud Canadian sat down with fellow writer Junot Díaz for an interview in the Boston Review, where she revealed she wants none other than Drake, one of Canada's other great exports, to cameo in season two.
"I haven't met Drake, but I have of course met people who have met Drake," Atwood explained. "But you have to realize how o-l-d I am. I'm not likely to go to the same parties. Or many parties at all, to be frank." After Díaz probably took a few minutes to recover from the shock of realizing Drake has never invited Atwood to one of his parties (the AUDACITY), he noted that Canada is "missing a great opportunity to put these two folks together." Atwood apparently agrees, and already has a plan in mind to bring her and the former Degrassi star together.
"Wouldn't it be fun for him to have a cameo in season two of The Handmaid's Tale?" Atwood said. "I'll drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that, because of course the show is filmed in Toronto. Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?" There is honestly no one we'd rather trust with a top secret mission out of Gilead than Aubrey "Hotline Bling" Graham.
Grandma Creates Epic "Drive-In Theater" For All the Neighborhood Kids
My aunt made a "drive-in" for all the kids in the family and this is exactly how extra I want to be when I'm older http://pic.twitter.com/gN7mjszRcc
- Jessie (@jessiewoodss) July 1, 2017
A grandmother from Ohio is being hailed an internet hero thanks to the elaborate "drive-in movie theater" she created in her backyard for her grandkids using a blow-up projection screen and cardboard "cars." Sherry Pratt's niece, Jessie Woods, took to Twitter to share photos of the outdoor theater, which was fully equipped with a car for each child (with a personalized license plate), cups of candies, and popcorn buckets, just like at a real drive-in.
"My aunt made a 'drive-in' for all the kids in the family and this is exactly how extra I want to be when I'm older," Jessie wrote in her tweet, which has garnered nearly 200,000 "likes" in just a few days.
"We have six grandchildren between my husband and I, and they're all off school, so we were looking for fun entertainment to do," Pratt told ABC News. "I was scrolling on Amazon one night and saw these movie projectors and it hit me," Sherry said. "I thought, 'Wouldn't it be fun to have an outdoor movie night?' So I made these cars out of these little boxes for them. My son is a graphic designer, so I had him make the license plates with their names. Things just kept popping in my head to make it like a real drive-in. We just invited anybody who could make it. I think we had 12 children there."
We're not sure what movie they ended up watching together, but we are sure that this family event will leave a lasting impression on the lucky little ones - and the adults - who got to experience it, thanks to Sherry.
The Brilliant Way Ryan Reynolds Helped a Teen Get Revenge on Her Ex
There are many reasons why we love Ryan Reynolds. He's talented, attractive, an amazing father and husband, but he's also incredibly hilarious on social media. On Wednesday, the actor took a break from filming Deadpool 2 to help a young teen named Gabi Dunn get get over a breakup. "My boyfriend and I broke up a few days after prom, so I decided to 'edit' the photos a little @VancityReynolds," the 18-year-old tweeted alongside two impressively photoshopped images of her with the actor. In true Ryan Reynolds form, he responded by writing, "We should photoshop me over his yearbook picture next. #DontMessWithGabi." Nothing like a sick burn from your favorite actor to help mend the wounds of a broken heart.

Melania Trump's European Travel Wardrobe Is Splashed With the Brightest Colors
Melania Trump is accompanying the president on his travels to Poland and Germany, and so far, each of her appearances is brighter than the last. While she boarded Air Force One for the international trip in checked, dusty rose Valentino trousers, she disembarked in a kelly green suede DVF trench.
On day one, Melania visited the Warsaw Uprising Monument and listened to Donald Trump's speech at the Three Seas Initiative Summit. Her dress design was none too quiet: a navy Delpozo sheath splashed with orange, cobalt, and fuchsia - all to play up her purple buckled Manolo Blahnik pumps, we're sure.
Read on for a glimpse of Melania's sophisticated, but vibrant travel looks, most of which are so fresh, you can still shop them on luxury retail sites.

Live For Drama? You'll Love This Graph of the Betrayals on Game of Thrones
Nothing quite proves the phrase "when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die" quite like the incessant connivery and betrayal on Game of Thrones. Dedicated fans know it's true: they might as well rename King's Landing "Backstabbersville." And to be honest, after more than half a decade of the HBO hit series, it can be a little tough to keep track of exactly who has betrayed whom over the course of the series . . . which is why Venngage created an infographic to help us keep the drama straight.
You might not remember back when Jaime betrayed his lover-slash-sister Cersei, or when Catelyn Stark went behind her own son's back to serve her own interests. But with this handy diagram of drama, you don't have to recall it all off the top of your head. Check out the full-size infographic to catch up on your backstabbing before the show's season seven premiere - honestly, it might be useful to print it out and have it on hand during each episode!
We can't wait to see what sort of delicious drama unfold in the new episodes; hopefully, Littlefinger is paid back in kind for his hand in all of the show's betrayals (of which there are MANY).
4 Tips For Dealing With a Sassy Child
Verbal defiance from a toddler who is just beginning to test limits is relatively easy to take in stride, but many parents are unnerved when bigger kids talk back. As Amanda P. shares, it's not only irritating, but downright disrespectful: "My 7-year-old thinks he can smart-mouth us whenever he wants, and that it's fine for him to be disrespectful, especially to me."
Seeking suggestions from the community, Amanda asks, "What do you guys use for a disrespectful child? I don't want to sit back and do nothing only [to see] this escalate into something bad. Any advice?"
First, take a deep breath so that you don't wind up arguing back, say our moms. Then, try these four tips for taming the sass.
1. Model and Explain Respectful Behavior
The first step in quieting a mouthy child is to teach respect. Because children learn by example, it's important for moms to model respectful behavior - with their children and with other adults. After all, a member named Kathy says, you can't expect your child to be courteous if you're not.
For Rebecca N. and a mom named Kat, teaching respect means showing it to your children first by listening and then calmly and repeatedly explaining why the behavior is rude. Rebecca recommends attempting to empathize with your child and trying to find out what's bothering her to get at the root cause of the impolite behavior. But do not respond aggressively, Rebecca warns. If your child gets a rise out of you, it can reinforce the obnoxiousness.
"Be patient and try to explain your side rationally," Kat adds. "I guarantee that if you offer [your child] respect, she's more likely to return it."
Tara H. and Tammy V. both suggest showing your child how to rephrase rude remarks. For example, when her daughter says, "I'm not going to clean my room," Tammy instead teaches her daughter to say, "I don't want to clean my room because I'm too tired right now. May I please do it tomorrow?"
Assuming you have taught your child how to treat and talk to others respectfully, then in all likelihood your big kid knows that it's not nice to use a sassy tone or to say mean things. The best thing you can do when your child talks back is remind her who she is speaking to, talk with her, and allow her to talk to you, too, to make sure she understands why her behavior isn't acceptable, say moms Kandie K. and Kat P. "The point is to let her know that no matter how [she] feels about something, she needs to respect her parents and obey them," Kat says.
2. Give and Take Time-Outs
Past the preschool years, children may have trouble managing both their personalities and hormones. Sassiness sometimes results from built-up anger and frustrations, "and unfortunately, as parents, we often get the brunt of their frustrations," says Jennifer S. So if you find that anger is building, it helps to take a time-out. "I will tell [my children] that they've pushed me too far and I think we both need a break before we say things we shouldn't and make the situation worse," Jennifer says.
Taking a time-out and ignoring backtalk can often silence smart-mouthed remarks, because your child "will figure out real quick that sassing doesn't work when it doesn't get your attention or change the circumstances," Stefanie S. explains.
The important thing after tempers have cooled, however, is to quickly find the time to talk about the situation and make sure to listen to your children, Jennifer says. "Often, if I acknowledge my kid's frustrations/issues/feelings, it helps," Jennifer notes. Then use that calmer moment to firmly communicate that parents deserve respect and that there are consequences for impertinence.
Theresa D. agrees with this approach, noting that she gives time-outs when tempers flare and her daughter acts up. As a result, her daughter now knows that there are consequences for sassing and has learned that losing her temper gets her nowhere.
3. Offer Punishments and Rewards
To reinforce the notion that parents deserve respect, parents can use both carrots and sticks, say readers. When Sarah K.'s daughter is insolent, she loses privileges like being able to go out with friends or use the computer.
Similarly, a lack of respect from Jodi's 13-year-old son will lead to TV restrictions. And both Kathy B. and Abby C. ground their children. This usually translates into not being able to hang out with friends after school or skipping ballet practice.
Which privilege to remove depends on the particular child. The key to effectiveness, says Jodi, is to "find out your child's 'currency' - what is most valuable to him." For some, it's a favorite hoodie; for others, access to the hair straightener.
Some moms prefer to offer rewards to encourage better behavior. Amy K. uses ice cream, books, and inexpensive toys.
4. Be Consistent and Patient
Regardless of your approach, your reinforcement of it must be consistent, readers advise. Once you start letting things slide, you'll start to see the return of smart-alecky behavior, warns Angelique G.
Barb S. echoes this point, noting both that your child needs to know that "every time he smarts off, this is what is going to happen" and also that being this consistent can be hard. The reason? You'll feel like a broken record, repeatedly redirecting disrespectful behavior. But as Linda J. recalls of her child's "snotty stage," standing your ground and hanging in for the ride will pay off: "My 14-year-old has gotten much better . . . We have to remember that they all go through a lot of stress changing from little kids to young adults."
Kesha Tackles Depression and Dr. Luke in "Praying," Her First Single in 4 Years
Kesha has gone four years without releasing a single thanks to her heartbreaking, uphill legal battle against record producer Dr. Luke, who she alleges emotionally and sexually abused her and manipulated her career. Now she's back with a new single, "Praying," which is a raspy, emotional rebirth for the singer. In an essay for Lenny, Kesha revealed the piano ballad is a way to tackle her demons, channeling her "feelings of severe hopelessness and depression" and "coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you." Ryan Lewis, Ben Abraham, and Andrew Joslyn collaborated with Kesha on writing "Praying," which is the debut single off of Rainbow, her first album since 2012's Warrior.

Meghan Markle's Airport Shoes Were Designed to Make You Look Twice
It's confirmed: Meghan Markle's a J.Crew gal. The Suits actress touched down in Austin, TX, in a travel outfit almost entirely composed of classics from the brand. She wore a white button-down and sunglasses from the retailer, and finished off the look with a pair of blue jeans with rips at the knee. She toted around Ghurka luggage.
Meghan's J.Crew shoes, however, were the most eye-catching of all. The leather lace-up sandals (which you can still shop for $88) provided a casual, preppy touch to her polished ensemble. We can easily see fashion girls pairing these with a dress or cut-offs for Summer. You can basically buy Meghan's entire airport look below.

Sophie Turner's Hair Is Key to the "Subliminal Messages" on Game of Thrones
It's simply impossible to watch Game of Thrones without feeling a sense of amazement over the hairstyles - especially that of fiery-haired fan favorite, Sansa Stark. Stark is, of course, played by British actress Sophie Turner, who has put her hair through the ringer for the sake of the role. But no matter how many times Turner dyes her hair red, black, or back to her natural blonde, she always maintains stunning strands - which is why it's no surprise that she was just announced as the first-ever ambassador for Wella Professionals hair care.
When POPSUGAR talked with Sophie about this exciting new partnership, it was clear how passionate she is about Wella's products. "I was actually using their products beforehand, because my team - whether it's for Game of Thrones or just for styling in general - always kind of used it," Turner shared.
We chatted with Sophie all about her "desert island" beauty products, her keys to confidence, and - of course - all things Game of Thrones. Read on for more!

How to Take Your Toddler to Their First Movie
Date night used to mean grabbing a bite to eat and heading to the movie theater. Ever since my son was born, most opportunities to go out now consist of just food because there is no way I'm staying up late enough to see a picture. Still, I miss going to the theater, especially with all of the Summer blockbusters coming out. Now that my 2-year-old is old enough to enjoy TV shows like Thomas and Friends, I figured why wait for a date night when I could take him to the movies instead.
Despite my willingness to get out of the house, the prospect of taking a child so young to the movies for the first time seemed a little daunting. Mostly my reasoning for going was because I wanted him to have fun, and if I got to eat a little popcorn while I was at it, that was fine too. The last thing I wanted was to be one of those parents who let their kid scream the whole time, especially since I wanted him to feel comfortable and excited by going to the movies. Using a lot of forethought and learnings from our little adventure, I've devised a plan of attack for any parent who wants to take their toddler to the movies.
- Research the theater. One of the reasons I'm lucky to live where I do is there are so many theaters within a relatively close proximity. As such, I had the opportunity to be very selective about where I took my son to watch his movie. The one I decided to go to had "baby friendly" showings, which meant that the lights were a little brighter and it was generally acceptable for a kid to walk around if they needed to and no one was going to give me dirty looks if he talked. Even if your theater doesn't have this option, try to find a theater that is aware that children exist and that sometimes they make noise. Some theaters show older movies at a discount rate, and since kids don't care when a picture was released, these might be better and cost-effective options.
- Pick your movie well. As much as I would love to take my 2-year-old to see Wonder Woman, there was no way he was going to sit still for that long and it would probably scare the bejesus out of him. By picking a children's movie, like any of the Pixar and Disney features, I knew that it would be appropriate for his age group. Take into consideration your child's interests. While my son loves music, I decided instead to take him to Cars 3 because if there is anything he can watch for hours on end, it's cars. Getting your kid excited is key, and they'll be much more inclined to be thrust into a new situation if you're also excited.
- Bring reinforcements. I went to the movie with my mom in tow, in part because she wanted to watch him experience his first big-screen show, but also because I wanted the help. My son is super energetic, and I knew that any extra help I could get would be useful. If I could do it again, I probably would have also invited some of his friends and their moms because children tend to behave better when they can see what other children are expected to do. Maybe if he had had his buddies with him, he might have been able to last longer than he did.
- Manage expectations. I would love to say that my son lasted the whole movie and applauded at the end begging for more, but that would be a bold-faced lie. We made it about 45 minutes into the film, but plus the additional 20 minutes of trailers, that to me was a successful visit. When planning your trip, it's important to keep in mind that this is a very new situation to thrust your children into: the screens are huge, the sound is loud, it's dark, and even with their favorite characters to watch, it can be very scary.
- Skip the trailers and (if possible) pick your seats. I am #blessed to live near theaters that let you pick your seats ahead of time. This allowed me to pick chairs near the exits in case it all went south, and it gave us time for him to walk around and explore this new room without the risk of losing our coveted spots. However, by getting there early, we wasted a lot of his energy on the trailers. Although I normally love seeing what kind of exciting new pictures are coming soon, I had never realized how amazingly loud and long trailers can be. What made the situation worse is that one of them was clearly designed with a much older kid in mind and suddenly I had a terrified 2-year-old in my lap. I had to keep him calm with Sesame Street on my phone for about 10 minutes before he was willing to sit in the chair again.
- Bring a lovey. The next time we go to the movies, I'll be sure to bring Roosevelt, his favorite stuffed bunny. If he'd had his lovey, I believe he would have been more calm and able to enjoy the movie more than he did. A little extra comfort can mean the difference between getting to finish the movie and having to leave early.
- Bring or buy their favorite snacks. Sneaking food into the movie theater, while not necessarily allowed, is a common practice for most moviegoing audiences and practically a necessity for toddlers. I'm not ashamed to admit that I may have brought an apple and some peanut butter crackers because having copious snacks was very helpful to maintain his attention and reduce the risk of tantrums. We still bought from the concessions, though, because who doesn't love a little movie popcorn?
Selena Gomez's Sexiest Dresses Never Leave You Wanting More
Let's get one thing straight: Selena Gomez is sexy. When I watched her perform at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2015 just a few rows away from the stage, I thought, "OK, she is absolutely the most beautiful celebrity I have ever seen in person." While the 24-year-old songstress has the option of dressing to show off her every curve, baring cleavage and flaunting her legs in a short hemline at the same time, her signature look - which she's defined with the help of stylist Kate Young - puts a modest hold on sexy.
Selena's most striking looks show skin, but in small amounts at a time. Perhaps you sneak a peek of side boob when she lifts her arms or you see a slip of thigh as she climbs the stairs in a slitted gown. Selena does not put her entire body on display; she finds easy, effortless ways to flatter her best assets. When you scroll through the photos ahead, you'll see exactly what I mean. These are the sexiest dresses Selena has ever worn, most simply because they're just a touch revealing, and they never leave you wanting more.

Undercut Tattoos Are the Sneakiest Way to Add Flair to Your Hair
Hot on the heels of the underlights hair color trend (the perfect rainbow technique for conservative offices) is another sneaky style: undercut tattoos. The name of this look is somewhat misleading, as there's no ink involved, but it's definitely edgy!
To rock this look, you'll need to book a salon appointment for an undercut, during which the stylist will buzz off the lower level of your mane. This style should only be apparent once you put your hair up in a ponytail. Then, using a razor, the stylist can cut very precise designs into the short strands at the nape of your neck. The finished result is a secretly badass look - and unless you want to reveal it via an updo, no one but you will ever know that it's there.
That said, this is not a new trend. Women of color have been rocking it for decades! However, we love how rainbow dye has added extra pizzazz to this already-cool style. See the appeal when you read on.
Perrie Edwards's Unexpected Bikini Has Racked Up Half a Million "Likes" on Instagram
While we already know which swimsuit trends are going to be huge this year, there's one style that has us raising our eyebrows. Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards posted a picture of herself in a white bikini that has already garnered almost half a million "likes" on Instagram.
The bikini, by British brand Luna Falls, features high-waisted bottoms and a bandeau top that leaves little to the imagination. But that's not even the most interesting part. It seems like the singer's bikini comes with separate long sleeves meant to be worn on each arm.
While we spotted Kendall Jenner wearing a white long-sleeved swimsuit in Cannes, we're not quite sure if Perrie's detachable sleeve trend will catch on. Have a look at Perrie's bikinigram and shop similar versions of the swimsuit if you're into the trend.

10 Nontoxic Skin Care Ingredients That Beauty Experts Swear By
Whether you've dipped a toe into the world of healthy living (organic wine has to be healthier than regular wine, right?) or gone a bit deeper (vegan diet, bike to work, homemade cleaning products . . .), you've likely heard something about what toxins do to our bodies.
Toxic exposure can come from food, beauty products, environmental pollution, and mold in the home and work place, and is linked to health issues like premature aging, hormonal disruption, and even cancer. It is pretty much impossible to avoid toxins completely, but one area that is fairly easy to control is your skin care routine.
We know there are certain cosmetic ingredients we don't want to use on our complexions. Then there are the well-known ingredients we look for to treat specific skin issues, such as tea tree for acne, chamomile for sensitivity, argan oil for aging. And then, there are other nontoxic ingredients in skin care products that don't get a second glance. They may not be as popular, but these supporting players also offer big time skin results.
We asked three leading experts in the natural beauty world to reveal their favorite nontoxic skin care ingredients. Keep reading to find out how these beauties can benefit your skin and health.
