The Sweet, Somber Significance of Princess Diana's Final Resting Place

Seven days after Princess Diana's tragic death in August 1997, she was honored with a public funeral that remains one of the most watched events in history. Millions of people crowded the streets of London to follow the route of Diana's coffin from Kensington Palace along Hyde Park to St. James's Palace, passing Buckingham Palace and observing her memory in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Later that day, Diana was taken to her final resting place at her childhood home, the Spencer estate in Althorp.

Though many attended her funeral, the Princess of Wales was buried privately; the only people present were a close friend, her mother and siblings, Prince Charles, William, Harry, and a clergyman. Diana wore a black dress by Catherine Walker and held on to a rosary given to her by Mother Teresa (who, sadly, died the same week as Diana). She was laid to rest on a small island in the middle of a lake at Althorp. The family estate is located about 70 miles from London in the town of Northampton, UK, and spans nearly 13,000 acres. Built in 1508, then-Lady Diana Spencer moved to the lavish home when her father, John Spencer, inherited the earl title in 1975. When he passed in 1992, Diana's brother Charles took the title as well as operation over the estate.

After her death, Earl Spencer decided that her gravesite was better off at Althorp than at their family vault in the local church, because it could be more easily cared for and, most importantly, offered better privacy for William and Harry to visit. Before his wedding to Kate Middleton in April 2011, William is said to have brought Kate to visit Diana's gravesite, where they reportedly laid flowers. The island where Diana's grave sits is accessed by a path of 36 trees - one for every year of her life - and black swans and white roses float in the water. It also holds a tall monument dedicated to the princess, as well as a temple for visitors to pay their respects. On either side of the template is a tablet; one is engraved with the tribute Prince Charles gave at her funeral, and the other has quotes from Diana about her love and commitment to charity work. In 2015, Earl Spencer and his wife, Karen, Countess Spencer, set forth a huge revamp of the property where Diana is buried - the first in 350 years. It is scheduled to be done just before the 20th anniversary of her death in August 2017.
This Rooftop Airport Pool Will Have You Crossing Your Fingers For a Flight Delay
How much does it suck when you have a huge flight delay or even a cancellation? If that ever happens to you while you're at Changi Airport in Singapore, just know that there is an amazing way to pass the time: a rooftop pool.
The international airport offers a beautiful pool and jacuzzi in the hotel in Terminal 1 that's available to everyone in the airport, regardless of which terminal you're using. There's a fee for nonhotel guests to use the pool, but really, when you're stuck in an airport and your options are crappy fast food and staring out the window or sunning yourself at the pool, the price is irrelevant.
For a glimpse of this amazing amenity, keep reading, and maybe consider checking out this airport next time you travel.

All the Old Taylor Swifts That Were Brought Back to Life - Then Killed - in "LWYMMD"
Taylor Swift is back, but she's definitely not the same. After debuting her music video for her new song, "Look What You Made Me Do," at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night, the internet promptly lost its sh*t and began decoding all of its hidden messages. Kim and Kanye references? Tons. Jabs at her exes? You know it. But one of the most jarring things about the video is the presence of all of Taylor's old selves, including memorable red carpet looks, music video personas, and touring outfits. While the new, "edgier" Taylor stands on top of them, they all try to claw their way back to her only to be rejected and pushed down into nothingness. Long story short: Taylor really wants you to know that the old her is dead. She channeled 30 of her former selves in total, so read on to see which moments from her past she's ready to bury.

How Putting Away Your Phone Can Help Your Career
The following post was originally featured on Fairygodboss.
Imagine - you're trying to have a serious conversation with a co-worker, but every time you get to an important statement you hear a ping! and your co-worker goes to check their phone. Not only do you have to restart your statement, but you know that you don't have your co-worker's full attention. So much for a phone as a helpful communication device, right?
With all of the ways teams can communicate in (and out of) the office, there's a lot of pressure to stay connected all of the time. There are, however, plenty of reasons why it's good to disconnect. Not just to support your mental health and well-being, but also so you can be more productive and help yourself at work.
It can feel strange to not have your phone at first, but you'll be surprised at how good you feel once you commit to disconnecting. Here are some of the benefits of putting your phone away.
1. You'll be more engaged.
To test out how disconnecting feels, try leaving your phone at your desk the next time you attend a group meeting. By leaving your phone behind, you'll focus more on the person speaking than the near-constant phone buzz. Focusing more will make you an active participant in your team's meetings. You'll think of questions and concerns more quickly than you would have if you were spending the meeting glued to your phone.
2. You'll sleep better.
Studies have shown that the blue LED light from our smart devices disturbs our sleep schedule. When we don't sleep well, we don't perform well. "Sleep is important for learning, memory, brain development, health," sleep researcher Steven Lockley said to The Washington Post. "You couldn't design a worse system for learning."
In addition, the National Sleep Foundation's most recent study shows that 35 percent of Americans are getting fair or poor levels of sleep. If you feel tired right after you've woken up, you haven't gotten enough sleep to support you throughout your work day. Putting your phone away can help you sleep more.
3. You'll clarify your work-life boundaries.
If you allow your team to call you at 9 p.m. on weeknights to go over non-urgent items, they'll get accustomed to doing so. Don't hesitate to tell your team what times you're available and what methods they can use to reach you. Promoting a strong work-life balance is key to being a good manager - and a good employee.
The next chance you have to sit down with your boss, review your work hours and the best ways to reach you outside of them. This is a good way to promote yourself, but it's also a great way to learn if your boss is a good manager. If your boss doesn't respect your work-life balance, it should raise a red flag.
4. You'll focus on quality over quantity.
Which sounds more impactful: a texting conversation about a strategy for tomorrow's presentation or a clear, concise email dictating what the strategy is? If you think the latter sounds better, then you probably appreciate the email's focus; it has the same point as the text messages but is one message as opposed to several.
When you're less connected, you'll learn how one message can be just as impactful as many smaller messages. You'll also strengthen your communication skills by learning how to be more effective with less.
5. You'll be more productive.
Less distractions means more productivity. Put your phone on airplane mode for an hour and see how far you can get through an important assignment - you'll be surprised! Our phones can be huge forms of distraction and putting them aside is a great first step. You can also boost your productivity by shutting off notifications in general. Ask yourself - do you really need to know exactly when your favorite Instagram account posts a new pic? If not, you can shut it off.
If you're ready to take the plunge, there are plenty of small steps towards being less reliant on your phone. The first of those is to build up your resolve; respect yourself and your time, and others will follow.

This Footage of a Utah Nurse Screaming For Help as a Cop Manhandles Her Will Leave You Livid
As the head nurse at Utah University Hospital's burn unit, it's Alex Wubbels's job to make sure hospital protocol and the rule of law is always followed on her watch. But on July 26, it was her brave refusal to abandon those duties, even for law enforcement, that resulted in a senselessly violent episode that was all caught on video.
It all started when Detective Jeff Payne requested to draw blood from an unconscious patient in Wubbels's unit. The Salt Lake City Tribune reported that Payne, a trained police phlebotomist, had originally been sent to collect this particular patient's blood to conduct a substance level check that would clear the driver of any wrong-doing following a collision that resulted in another individual's death. But when Wubbels calmly explained to the detective that it would be out of line with both hospital protocol and the law to do so, he became increasingly agitated. Full video footage on Deseret News shows that Payne threatened to arrest her if she refused to allow him to leave with a blood sample. Standing her ground, Wubbels got on the phone with her supervisor, who again confirmed that no blood should be drawn from a patient who is unable to provide consent.
WATCH: Shocking footage shows a Utah nurse being arrested for refusing to give a patient's blood to police http://pic.twitter.com/tVcc2WUBoi
- NBC News (@NBCNews) September 1, 2017
From there, the standoff between the nurse and detective turned violent. Wubbels's supervisor can be heard telling Detective Payne, "Sir, you're making a huge mistake because you're threatening a nurse." Payne appears to completely lose it after that remark, as he quickly moves to grab Wubbels immediately following the off-camera comment and angrily puts the nurse into handcuffs as she sobs. The most startling point in the footage, however, can be seen at the end when Detective Payne forcefully drags Wubbels into a police car as she screams "help me" to bystanders.
According to the Salt Lake City Tribune, the Salt Lake City police department is now conducting an internal investigation into the incident, though Payne has only been suspended from their blood-draw program and is currently still on the police department staff. As for Wubbels, she has not taken legal action against the department just yet, but says she is, however, sharing her story in hopes that it will shine a light on the need for better relationships between medical professionals and police officers.

8 Skin-Perfecting Concealers to Try If You're Not Into Foundation
It's probably safe to assume that most beauty enthusiasts have a love-hate relationship with foundation. Shade matching is frustrating AF. Formulas and textures are tricky. Blending, even for pros, can sometimes go all wrong. If you've successfully navigated the world of foundation, hats off to you. For the rest of us, concealer has got us covered . . . literally. Celebrity makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur Archangela Chelsea Yusuf shared a few tips for pulling off just concealer:
Don't stress over getting an exact color match.
Unlike foundation, getting a concealer that's slightly lighter than your natural skin tone can be a good thing. That's especially true for the eye area, where most of us can use a little brightening - it can help hide and brighten dark circles. Be sure to only cover the uneven areas of your face.
Use the right tools.
Concealer is best applied with your finger. Doing so will help warm up the formula so that it melts into your skin. You could also try a blending sponge for an even buff. The good thing is that many concealers are buildable, so even if it's not a spot-on color match, with the right tools, it'll look seamless.
Pay attention to your eye area.
It's the thinnest layer of skin, so make sure to use the right formula for it. If you have any under-eye creasing or dryness, use a sheer concealer so that it doesn't amplify fine lines. "If your eyes are puffy, then use a heavier concealer to help cover that swollen part for a more lifted effect," Yusuf suggested.
Be sure to set it.
No matter how much or how little makeup you wear, you want it to stay put. A spritz or light dusting will keep your concealer from sliding off your face as the day progresses.
Now, read through to find your best formula for no-makeup makeup perfection.
These 20 Treatments For Thinning Hair Actually Work - According to Pros
If you've noticed your hair thinning, you're not alone. "As a salon owner and hairstylist, thinning hair and hair loss are the top concerns of my clients. They all ask me how can they achieve thicker, fuller hair while finding a way to get hair to regrow," says Gabriel Samra, a celebrity hairstylist.
That said, being in good company isn't exactly comforting when you're literally watching your hair wash down the drain. While some hair loss might indicate a deeper medical issue and therefore need to be treated by a doctor, it could be due to stress or poor hair health (see here for a list of common causes), in which case hair experts say you can take matters into your own hands.
From supplements to fillers (it's like Botox for your hair), read on for some of the innovative and sometimes unusual (gelatin, anyone?) products they recommend to clients seeking thicker hair. Some of these picks have proven so successful that the experts have incorporated them into their own regimens.

The 25 Must-Read Books Hitting Bookshelves This Fall
If there's one thing we can say for sure, it's that Summer always comes to an end way too quickly. The good news, though, is that along with leather jackets and knee-high boots come some of the most highly anticipated books of the year. From Jennifer Egan to Matthew Weiner (yes, that Matthew Weiner), and from the prequel to Practical Magic to Hillary Clinton's memoir about the election, there's something to look forward to for every single kind of reader.
So, without further ado: ahead, you'll find the 25 best books landing in stores this Fall. And honestly, these books are all so good that we'd recommend them no matter what your favorite genre may be.
Trump Has Taken 53 Days Off. Here's How Long You'd Have to Work 5 American Jobs to Do the Same.
As of Sept. 1, President Donald Trump has been in office for 223 days. Here's the thing, though: since taking office, Trump has also taken a whopping 53 "leisure" days - and yes, that's just a nice way of saying vacation.
For context; former President Barack Obama took a full 38 fewer days off between September and August of 2009 - his first year in office - adding up to a more reasonable 15 days off. And we can't forget that we're only two-thirds of the way through 2017. With a ton of holiday weekends coming up that we're sure Trump will take full advantage of - despite having already decimated the Secret Service Budget with his outlandish jetsetting - we can only expect the already high number to grow exponentially over the coming weeks and months.
But while comparing presidents to their predecessors might be a helpful benchmark, it doesn't help make the numbers any more real. So POPSUGAR partnered with FormSwift to crunch the numbers on how long you would have to work essential American jobs in order to earn the amount of vacations days that the president has taken to date - and the results were downright stunning.
Ahead, check out how vacation time accrued for five crucial roles stacks up against the highest office in the country, and be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor after reading.

That's Amore! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Sneak In PDA During Their Day at Sea in Italy
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are currently soaking up the sun in Italy. On Wednesday, the parents of Luna enjoyed some rest and relaxation during their day at sea in Sardinia. While John donned blue shorts and a life vest for a few water activities, Chrissy showed off her incredible figure in a white two-piece. Aside from paddleboarding, the couple showed some sweet PDA as they snuck in a few kisses before rinsing off on their boat.
Their romantic outing comes just a few days after John opened up about their honest relationship to Cosmopolitan. "We discuss everything that's on our minds," he said. "I just want to support her. I want her to be happy and to live the fullest, most awesome life she can, and I want us to do it together. Whenever she sets her mind to anything, I always tell her, 'I want to support you and help you do it.'" Aww! It's clear that these two always know how to have a good time together.
I Made Dirt-Cheap Meals For a Week, and Here’s How I Survived
One day, while feeling particularly dismal about spending yet another $100 on groceries for the week in San Francisco, I read a post that forever changed my outlook on food expenditures: "This Story of How 1 Woman Saved $30,000 in 8 Months Will Motivate You (and Crack You Up!)." I laughed! I cried! It motivated me to get to work. While dumpster diving won't be my method of saving money on food, I had a profound realization: my fridge, pantry, and freezer probably contained enough food to feed me for "free" for at least several weeks, so I set out to only eat from items I already owned. The reserves lasted me well over a week, and in all honesty, I'm still working on clearing it out. Check yours and you'll likely discover an astonishing amount of food that's gathering dust and ice chips. Like me, you may have avoided this food for months. But, when I challenged myself to be creative, I came up with some tasty ways to straight-up survive off of it. You will too, once you read my tips.
This Move Will Help You Feel Your Abs Burn Like Never Before
A toned midsection can be hard to achieve unless you've got the right mix of exercise and diet. While exercise alone won't carve out a six-pack, the Russian twist can help! Coupled alongside a healthy diet and solid workout routine, this core-carving exercise is just what's needed to make your abs pop.
Warning: you might find yourself shouting obscenities after a few rounds of Russian twists because of how much you can feel it working deep in the core muscles. "The Russian twist is an excellent ab exercise because it doesn't just work the rectus abdominis (front ab muscles), it also incorporates the transverse abdominal muscle (TVA)," said Heather Neff, CPT. "The TVA is a deep muscle that runs along the sides [of the midsection] just under the obliques." When you strengthen and work the TVA, it acts just like a girdle and pulls everything inward, giving you that appearance of a flat belly.
Along with the TVA and rectus abdominis, the Russian twist incorporates the obliques and lower back as well. This exercise is everything you need for a tighter core in 360 degrees!
When a Little Boy Wanted to Be a Princess, Disney Said "No," Then This Happened
Like most toddlers, 3-year-old Noah is obsessed with Queen Elsa and Frozen, so when his mother heard that Disneyland Paris was hosting a "Princess for a Day" event, she immediately reached out to Disney to see if her son could participate. "I knew that there would be NOTHING he'd love more than to get to wear a pretty dress, put makeup on like Mummy does, and have his photo taken being one of his beloved Disney Princesses," Hayley McLean-Glass wrote on her blog.
Unfortunately, Disneyland Paris wrote back to Hayley, denying Noah the experience because "at this time it is not possible to book Princess for a Day for a boy."
Hayley was not OK with this, so the mom penned an open letter to Disneyland Paris, explaining how this decision was so horribly wrong, and she wasn't backing down without a fight.
"If a little girl wants to be a super hero, she can be. If she wants to be a Jedi, she can be. She can be whatever she wants. . . just like Walt Disney himself said, 'If you can dream it you can do it!' . . . Unless you're a little boy who wants a Princess experience at Disneyland apparently. . . that you CAN'T do!" she wrote.
The mom-of-three told ITV News that Noah was wrecked when he found out he wouldn't be able to participate. "I was so angry, I literally couldn't stop shaking for half an hour afterwards - I was just so shocked," she said. "I'm his mother and if I'm OK with him doing it, who are Disney to tell me that he can't do that?"
Disneyland Paris has since "sincerely apologized" to Hayley and Noah, promising that this would never happen again. "Of course, both boys and girls are welcome to enjoy The Princess For a Day experience in addition to all our other special activities," the statement read.
The description of the event on the park's website has also been changed to say: "Every child's wish can come true with a total Princess makeover and hair-styling session; a fairytale transformation they'll treasure forever."
Did Jennifer Lopez Sing in the Selena Movie?
Playing Selena Quintanilla in the 1997 biopic about the Tejana singer was Jennifer Lopez's first major role, even inspiring her to become a singer. "[The movie] made me realize, don't neglect parts of yourself and let people put you in a box because you're an actress. You can do this, and you can also do that,"she told Billboard in 2005, for the 20th anniversary of Selena's death. "Life is short, and you don't know what's going to happen. Go for your dreams and don't let anyone hold you back."
The curious part? Jennifer didn't really sing in the movie. The voice you hear every time Selena performs on stage or records a new song is the late singer's, with Jennifer lip-syncing to her tracks.
There is one exception. In the scene where Selena performs in front of a large crowd in Monterrey, Mexico, as the band fears the stage might collapse, you can hear Jennifer's voice as she starts Selena's hit "Como la Flor" on a slower melody to soothe the crowds. Only the first three words are in her voice, but that moment marked the beginning of Jennifer's amazing musical career.

As we become more conscious about the products we put on our face and in our bodies, it makes sense we also pay attention to our hair. Considering our hair touches our pillows while sleeping, which touches our face and so on, it's important to try and make sure even your hair care steers clear from harmful ingredients like parabens and sulfates. Not to mention, shampoo can seep into your pores while you're showering.
How to make sure a product is 100 percent organic? Check to see if it contains 100 percent natural ingredients. Here are a few to look out for: coconut oil, shea butter, aloe vera, quinoa protein, and vitamin E. Even if some hair products contain these ingredients, it doesn't mean the product is a 100 percent natural, but we found a few that pass the test. Check out these shampoos that are sure to leave your hair looking, feeling, and smelling great, all without the harmful chemicals.
Why "Sandbags" Under Your Eyes Are a Must-Try Makeup Technique
If you have yet to try the baking makeup technique, you need to add it to your beauty skill set ASAP. Not only does it make your strobed features look highlighted for hours, but it sets your foundation, too. Now the baking method is being redirected into the under-eye area and has gotten a new name: sandbagging.
I've been doing this ever since I tried out the grayscale look last Halloween. It was essential in preventing cracks in my monochrome makeup (which would have let my pink skin peek through!), but it's just as fantastic at keeping under-eye concealer crease-free. It's definitely a game changer for those with serious dark circles.
Sandbagging is a little more challenging than baking, but the technique is the same. After slicking on your under-eye concealer, use a damp makeup sponge to pat a thick coat of translucent powder on top, getting as close to your waterline as possible. After a few minutes, dust away the excess with a fluffy brush, and you're good to go!
While many vloggers don't mention this, it is key to keep your eye area very still while the powder is setting. That's where the complexity comes in. Squinching, smiling, or any other facial expressions cause the skin to crinkle, which could create cracks and lines in your concealer. I recommend taking a break from applying the rest of your face until you've finished sandbagging.

Low Weights, High Reps: Feel the Burn With These Arm Exercises
We all want those arms that don't flap in the wind when we're waving hello, right? These five exercises with light weights make it look easy, but the small isometric moves ensure you feel the burn. Grab your two- or three-pound dumbbells and get going, but don't worry if you don't have weights - you can even do them without for some excellent toning.
3 Things You Need to Grasp in Order to Lose Weight For Good
You've been trying to lose weight for months or maybe even years. You finally drop enough to fit into those jeans you wore in college, but sooner or later, you can't even slip them over your thighs again. Why does losing weight have to be so hard? Here are some difficult things you'll need to swallow in order to lose the weight and keep it off for good.
Diets Aren't the Answer
While many people lose weight ditching carbs or going on a liquid diet, these methods can't last forever. These diets are often not nutritionally sound or so restrictive you end up binging on all the foods you crave. Plus, when you hit your goal weight and go back to your old eating habits, the weight is bound to come back.
Slimming down and being able to maintain this smaller version of yourself is all about making a lifestyle change. That means figuring out a healthy diet that can be maintained for the rest of your life. What's been proven to work is a diet full of fruits and veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins. Of course you're allowed to cheat every once in a while - and it can actually help diminish cravings - but indulgences should be in moderation. It'll take some getting used to, but soon you'll adapt to your new healthy way of eating and wonder how you ever used to down cheeseburgers, soda, and cookies every day.
Counting Calories Is a Must
Losing weight is about basic math: calories in cannot exceed the amount of calories the body uses up. And to lose weight, you'll need to create a calorie deficit. Counting calories may seem strict, but if you don't keep track of how much you eat, you may never reach your goal weight. Start by talking with your doctor about how much weight you want to lose, and he or she can help you figure out an appropriate daily calorie amount.
Many find success writing down their daily diet in a food journal, or with a weight-loss app, which logs the calorie amounts for food eaten. If you like to cook, plug your recipe into this Calorie Count tool and you can keep track of how many calories your favorite mac n' cheese contains.
50 Best Weight-Loss Tips
You'll need ways to keep track of portion sizes too, and here are some great products you can use at home and on the go. You'll also want to arm yourself with calorie-saving tricks for eating out, when you hit happy hour, and during the weekend, as well as learn some creative food-swapping tricks to save calories.
Walking Isn't Enough
A healthy diet is key to losing weight, but if you have more than a few pounds to lose, that alone isn't the most effective way to get you to your goal weight. You'll have to incorporate exercise as well, and I don't mean just a walk around the block. Most recommendations say that to lose weight, you must exercise for at least an hour a day, five times a week. We're talking the kind that gets your heart rate up such as running, biking, or a cardio class at the gym. An hour may seem like a lot, but once you carve out that time in your schedule, it'll be something you look forward to every day. If boredom is your complaint, here are some ways to switch up your cardio routine and keep you excited about working out.
Aside from burning calories, exercising will give you muscles, which boosts your metabolism and helps you burn more calories. It'll give your body some definition as well, making weight loss even more noticeable. Exercising can also be a way to feel good about indulging - if you go on a two-hour hike, you'll know you can enjoy dessert after dinner without a side of guilt. Exercising regularly is just as important as eating right, and once you adapt both to your life, losing weight and keeping it off will be a breeze.

The Touching Cartier Connection Between Princess Diana, Prince William, and Kate Middleton
Along with a laid-back lifestyle and charitable spirit, one of the things Princess Diana passed down to her son Prince William was a love for fine jewelry - especially beautiful Cartier watches. After her divorce from Prince Charles, Diana was frequently photographed wearing a gold Cartier Tank Francaise, a gift from her father, John Spencer. She bought William a similar timepiece from the famed French label, which she had engraved for one of his birthdays. After her death in August 1997, William chose to keep Diana's Cartier Tank as a memento - and in 2014, he gifted Kate Middleton with the Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch for their third wedding anniversary.
Not only was the watch on its own a beautiful way to connect his beloved mother and new wife, but William also went a step further by embedding a sapphire stone into the stainless-steel style to match Kate's engagement ring - which also belonged to Diana. William presented Kate with the Ballon Bleu de Cartier just before they embarked on their tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014, and she wore it nearly every day that they were there.
Step Aside, Protein Bars - Protein-Packed Popcorn Is Here to Steal the Show!
Popcorn is definitely one of my go-to snacks, but it's easy for my addiction to get a tad out of hand. One second, I'm savoring that first steaming kernel, and the next, I'm licking the butter off my fingers and wondering how on earth I inhaled an entire bag so quickly. Sound familiar?
Popcorn isn't necessarily high in calories or anything, but what if I told you there's a way to get your protein fix while also satisfying those late-night hankerings for the crunchy treat? Yes, it's possible, and no, you're not dreaming.
You Fresh Naturals is a company that makes a handful of tasty treats, including nut butters, frosting, oats, and popcorn, all of which are gluten-free and packed with protein that comes from whey protein isolate. Can I get a "heck yeah"?! It currently sells three mouthwatering popcorn flavors - Sweet & Salty, Cheddar Cheese, and Cinnamon Crunch - in addition to Vegan Crunch and Pizza flavors, both of which are unfortunately out of stock at the moment. Each bag of popcorn contains a whopping eight grams of protein per serving. We'll take this over a basic protein bar any day of the week.
If you're ready to add one of these protein-packed goodies to your pantry, read on to pick out your favorite flavor - or go ahead and devour all three!

Why Her Son's Use of a Hand Dryer Was 1 of the "Proudest Moments" of This Mom's Life
When any child is able to overcome a fear, especially a crippling one, it's something to be celebrated. For Sara Farrell Baker, watching her son, August, overcome his fear of public bathroom hand dryers was an "Olympic-size win" that she's celebrating by sharing it with other parents, especially those with children with sensory processing disorders, like August.
"Having a child with sensory issues and autism is not something I anticipated when becoming a mother, but it's become my normal," Sara shared in a post to Facebook. The mom says she's been hyperaware of loud flushing toilets and hand dryers for the last five years because the sounds are usually too much for August to handle - so much so that she's held it in and avoided using public restrooms when out with her son on more than one occasion. On a recent trip to August's new elementary school, however, something changed.
"Today, I walked to August's elementary school, holding his hand and guiding him through a tour of the different areas in this place he will be spending the bulk of his waking hours," she wrote. "We passed by the boy's restroom after we explored the cafeteria and I asked him if he wanted to flush the toilet to check out the noise level and try washing his hands on his own. After washing his hands, August pulled down a paper towel to dry himself off. Then he stared for a moment at the dryer. I told him he could try it if he wanted to - my attempt at encouraging him to try new things with no doubt in my mind that he was going nowhere near that contraption. He placed his hand underneath and I braced myself for the meltdown, shocked that he had done anything and waiting for the fallout. There was none."
Shocked and overwhelmed by August's response to the dryer - he actually loved the blue light under it and "the way the force of the air moved the flesh on his palms" - Sara began tearing up right there in the boys' restroom. She wrote:
I started crying, staring at my son feeling fine and even laughing at something that has been a source of fear and anxiety for him for almost his entire life. It's a stupid hand dryer, but this moment meant the world to me. Seeing him adapting to the world around him and trying new things are small victories, but this journey makes them feel like Olympic-sized wins. My son used a hand dryer today. It was one of the proudest moments of my life.
Sara says the best part of sharing this story so far has been the response from parents who have children like August but never realized there was such a thing as sensory needs. "I learned about sensory processing disorder when he was almost 4 years old, and the relief that came with finding that there was a name for what he was experiencing, and other parents who had been where I was, was incredible," Sara told POPSUGAR. "So knowing that other parents are reading about August and something is clicking for them about their kids, and that those families might get some relief, means the world to me."
Prince Charles Wanted These Names For William and Harry, but Diana Called Them "Too Old"
Princess Diana and Prince Charles didn't agree on a lot of things during their tumultuous 10-year marriage, and, perhaps quite relatably, baby names was one of them. Like most expectant parents, Charles and Diana had different ideas about what to name their children, but unlike most expectant parents, they were obligated to give their offspring strong, regal names that would sound good with a king or queen title in front of them. The British nobility routinely follow tradition when it comes to picking out names for royal babies, often referencing monarchs of the past - which is why you'll see a number of Georges, Philips, Henrys, Elizabeths, and Victorias in the family tree.
When Diana gave birth to her first son in June 1982, he was given the name William Arthur Philip Louis; two years later, Prince Harry was christened Henry Charles Albert David. In a recorded interview that would go on to be published in the controversial 1992 book Diana: Her Story by Andrew Morton, Diana admitted that she picked the first names for both of her newborn sons after nixing the ones Charles had in mind. When asked, "Who chose [Harry's] name?," Diana said, "I did," adding, "I chose William and Harry, but Charles did the rest." She went on: "He wanted Albert and Arthur, and I said no. Too old!" She may have been on to something, but William could always choose a different regnal name when he becomes king - even Prince Charles, who was christened Charles Philip Arthur George, is expected to be known as King George VII when he takes the throne. William also paid homage to both of his parents with the names of his two children: George Alexander Louis and Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
Diana also revealed the heartbreaking comment that Charles made shortly after Harry's birth: "His first comment was, 'Oh God, it's a boy,'" Diana said. "His second: 'And he's even got red hair.'" Charles was vocal about his desire for a daughter and reportedly told Diana's mother at Harry's christening, "We were so disappointed - we thought it would be a girl." Wonder what names they would have picked out for a little princess?
What You Need to Know About the "Goldwater Rule" and Trump’s Mental Health
Image Source: Getty / Joe Raedle
In the wake of President Donald Trump's widely condemned handling of Charlottesville, VA, an erratic press conference in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York, and an off-the-wall rally in Phoenix, AZ, individuals on both sides of the aisle have expressed concern about the president's well-being and mental health. And if Republican Senator Bob Corker and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper are any indication, that concern has now escalated to a plea for action.
"I really question his ability to be - his fitness to be - in this office, and I also am beginning to wonder about his motivation for it," Clapper told CNN, adding, "I cannot make any comment about his mental health, his sanity or any of that sort of thing. All that I can comment on really is the behavior I've observed, and I find that worrisome." And the reason Clapper - or any professional, for that matter - can't talk about the president's mental health dates back to a very similar situation, which led to the so-called "Goldwater Rule" being put into place in 1973, a topic that is increasingly becoming the subject of debate across the country.
In 1964, Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater decided to throw his hat in the ring as the Republican candidate for president. His platform was a flurry of controversial ideas and issues - his vote against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 caused many to label him a racist, among other things - but things came to a head when Fact magazine published an article in which "more than 1,000 psychiatrists declared the Republican candidate unfit for the office, citing severe personality defects, including paranoia, a grandiose manner and a Godlike self-image," according to The New York Times, which also pointed out that "one doctor called him 'a dangerous lunatic'." Goldwater would subsequently go on to lose the election in a landslide but win the lawsuit that was quickly filed against the magazine.

Almost a decade later, the American Psychiatric Association put into place the Goldwater Rule. The 1973 statute bars psychiatrists from presenting their opinion on the mental health of an individual to the media without having conducted an in-person examination and been given permission to do so. As a result, those who know most about this issue are never the ones to speak out to the press and why the subject is often a tricky one to tackle when it comes to those in the public eye. And we have Barry Goldwater to thank for it.
Today, the 37,000 people who could actually speak to the subject of a president's fitness are unable to do so. Sure, there is a reasonable expectation of privacy and there are some things that are private and should not be given up to the general public at large. But what the end result of an effective gag order such as this leads to is rampant speculation and a very odd form of slander, as those who are less informed on the issue - or don't provide their thoughts with a caveat, like what Clapper did with CNN - are the ones who are put as talking heads on the news. Were professionals able to provide comment, it could either clear the air or definitively raise a red flag where one may be needed and effectively kill in its tracks the need for speculation and discussion.
There are cases to be made for both sides of the argument, but in 2017, it's hard not to draw parallels between Goldwater and Trump. Trump seems to be the natural heir to the late senator's penchant for outlandish statements, possess the same hatred of the media, and of course is similarly fond of litigious action. But while Goldwater's bid for president failed, Trump's was successful. As the most powerful person in the country, one might expect the level of scrutiny in this area to be higher than that of the average government official. Ultimately, that's the debate that will be taking place over the coming weeks, months, and years: have we hit the point where the Goldwater Rule should no longer apply, or does it matter now more than ever? As for now, the outcome of that debate remains to be seen.

Mark Zuckerberg Pens Powerful Post Defending DACA and the Dreamers
Back in February, President Donald Trump said he would "show great heart" when it came to the status of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program - and the 800,000 immigrants who are currently protected under it. However, despite pleas from 2,000 government leaders and officials around the country, the president might end the DACA program anyway. On Aug. 31, a new call to protect the young immigrants, known as Dreamers, came in the form of a letter signed by 300 business leaders, including a personal Facebook post from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Signed by CEOs from Airbnb, Lyft, Netflix, Apple, and Google, the letter was posted on FWD.us, an organization dedicated to immigration reform. In it, the business leaders write to the president, as well as House Speaker Paul Ryan, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Senate Minority Leader Senator Charles E. Schumer. The letter states, "As entrepreneurs and business leaders, we are concerned about new developments in immigration policy that threaten the future of young undocumented immigrants brought to America as children." It goes on to express how much Dreamers have contributed to society and to subject them to the threat of deportation if DACA is ended would be extremely detrimental to the economy and our society. It ends with, "We call on President Trump to preserve the DACA program. We call on Congress to pass the bipartisan DREAM Act or legislation that provides these young people raised in our country the permanent solution they deserve." A separate statement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also expresses Nadella's support of DACA and the Dreamers.
In a Powerful Letter, 2,000 Leaders Pledge to Stand With Young Immigrants Known as "Dreamers"
In a separate Facebook post on Aug. 31, Zuckerberg wrote why he "stand[s] with the Dreamers." He not only wants Trump to keep DACA alive but for Congress to also pass the Dream Act of 2017 to ensure the protection of the Dreamers. "These young people represent the future of our country and our economy," Zuckerberg wrote. "They are our friends and family, students and young leaders in our communities. I hope you will join us in speaking out." You can read the full post ahead.
I stand with the Dreamers -- the young people brought to our country by their parents. Many have lived here as long as...
Posted by Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday, August 31, 2017
According to a report from Fox News, Trump is expected to end DACA. Though White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a press briefing on Aug. 31 that DACA is still "under review," many do not believe Trump will "show great heart" to these young immigrants.
Why Watching Bad TV Can Actually Be Considered Self-Care
I'll be the first to admit my DVR is not full of the most high-quality television out there. While I religiously watch Game of Thrones (it's hard to work at POPSUGAR if you don't) and always eventually get to the critically acclaimed stuff (I was only six months late to Big Little Lies and I'm sure I'll love Breaking Bad when I see it), my DVR is stocked full of stuff that most people have never heard of or abandoned a long time ago.
I joke a lot about my TV habits, but I recently realized that every show I watch really does serve a purpose. Each show, in its own way, helps me unwind and forget for a little while that the world is a crazy place. There are so many ways to practice self-care, and in recent years, it's become more of a trend. I'd like to offer one new way to take care of yourself: zoning the f*ck out for 30 minutes to an hour.
My life is not hard. I go to work every day for a company that I'm proud of and I have a family that I love. That said, when it's 9 p.m. and I'm exhausted with a messy house, a growing to-do list on my mind, and a Twitter feed that is pissing me off, my TV is the fastest and easiest way to escape from it all. And my guilty-pleasure shows check every box I need.
The Heartbreaking Reason Chloe Bennet Decided to Change Her Last Name
Chloe Bennet wasn't always a Bennet. On Tuesday, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress opened up about why she changed her last name from Wang when she was trying to book roles in Hollywood: she was discriminated against because of her race. After praising Ed Skrein for pulling out of the Hellboy reboot following whitewashing criticism, the actress responded to a fan who questioned why she doesn't go by her surname.
"Changing my last name doesn't change the fact that my BLOOD is half Chinese, that I lived in China, speak Mandarin or that I was culturally raised both American and Chinese," she wrote in a since-deleted post. "It means I had to pay my rent, and Hollywood is racist and wouldn't cast me with a last name that made them uncomfortable. I'm doing everything I can, with the platform I have, to make sure no one has to change their name again, just so they can get work." Hollywood has come under fire in recent years for its lack of diversity, and Chloe's heartbreaking decision proves it still has a very long way to go.
The Mysterious Details of Natalie Wood's Death Will Make You Angry 35 Years Later
Natalie Wood was one of the brightest Hollywood stars in the '70s. She solidified herself as a serious actress with appearances in movies like West Side Story and Rebel Without a Cause, but her life was tragically cut short when she mysteriously drowned while boating with her husband, Robert Wagner, at age 43 on Nov. 28, 1981. The couple had gone sailing for the weekend around Catalina Island on their 60-foot yacht, Splendour, with Natalie's Brainstorm costar Christopher Walken and captain Dennis Davern. Authorities found Natalie's body one mile south of the Splendour yacht, off an isolated cove called Blue Cavern Point. She was wearing a flannel nightgown, wool socks, and a down-filled jacket.
After an autopsy was conducted, authorities revealed that Natalie's arms had been covered in bruises, a scratch was found on her neck, and she had abrasions on her face. They also believed that all of those injuries had occurred prior to her drowning. Robert told the police that Natalie had gone to bed before him and he didn't notice she was missing until he went to their bedroom sometime after midnight and noticed she wasn't there. Because they found alcohol and two types of medication in her system, authorities ruled her cause of death as an "accidental drowning."
The case was later reopened in November 2011 after Dennis alleged that Robert was responsible for Natalie's death and revealed that he "made mistakes by not telling the honest truth in a police report." In an interview with the Today show, Dennis said that Robert and Natalie had gotten into a fight on the night of her death and that Robert and he had agreed on what they would tell police. Following multiple investigations, LA's chief medical examiner changed Natalie's cause of death to "drowning and other undetermined factors" nine months later. While Robert was never found guilty, he did admit that he and Natalie fought the night that she died in his 2008 memoir. "Nobody knows," he wrote. "There are only two possibilities; either she was trying to get away from the argument, or she was trying to tie the dinghy. But the bottom line is that nobody knows exactly what happened."
Christopher also spoke out about the case in November 2011, telling Playboy magazine, "What happened that night only she knows, because she was alone. She had gone to bed before us, and her room was at the back. A dinghy was bouncing against the side of the boat, and I think she went out to move it. There was a ski ramp that was partially in the water. It was slippery - I had walked on it myself. She had told me she couldn't swim. In fact, they had to cut a swimming scene from [Brainstorm]. She was probably half asleep, and she was wearing a coat." Natalie left two daughters behind, Natasha and Courtney, whom she shared with Robert, and was buried on Dec. 2, 1981, at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in LA.
