Here's How to Pronounce Garrett Yrigoyen's Last Name, Because We Know You're Wondering

First came Luyendyk, then Yrigoyen, so if there's one thing we hope for Becca Kufrin and her future, it's that she keeps her last name. The season finale of The Bachelorette proved to be incredibly emotional (fine, you were right, Chris Harrison), and while we're still mourning her breakup with runner-up Blake, it's time to come to terms with the fact that Becca will (hopefully) one day marry Garrett Yrigoyen, and boy, that's a mouthful.

Becca and her fiancé Garrett appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live following the airing of the finale, and Jimmy wasted no time before asking Garrett the important questions, like how it feels being in public together, what their future plans are, and how the hell do you pronounce his last name. With that big smile on his face, Garrett explains it's "Yer-goy-en."

"You're not going to take that name, are you?" Jimmy asked, to which Becca responded, "We've talked about maybe hyphenating it, but that's 'Kufrin-Yrigoyen,' I don't think our kids are going to be able to pronounce that." Forget about your kids, we can't even pronounce that! Check out the clip below, and then see the photos that prove this might have been the sexiest season of The Bachelorette ever.

The Details of Sharon Tate's Gruesome Murder Will Stick With You in the Worst Possible Way

Actress Sharon Tate was only 26 years old when her life and career were tragically cut short in one of the most brutal murders in Hollywood history. On Aug. 8, 1969, the stunning Valley of the Dolls star - who was married to film director Roman Polanski and eight and a half months pregnant with their son - was spending time with friends at 10050 Cielo Drive, the secluded home she and Roman shared in LA's Benedict Canyon. Roman was off in London filming The Day of the Dolphin, so he asked their close pals Wojciech Frykowski and Folger's Coffee heiress Abigail Folger to stay at the house with his pregnant wife until he flew back to LA on Aug. 12. The trio had dinner at Sharon's favorite restaurant, El Coyote, along with celebrity hairstylist Jay Sebring. They returned to the house around 10:30 p.m.

Shortly after midnight on Aug. 9, the house was broken into by four members of Charles Manson's "family": Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Linda Kasabian, who were instructed by the cult leader to go to "that house where [record producer Terry Melcher] used to live" (Manson, a wannabe rock star, had tried unsuccessfully to get a record deal from Melcher, who used to rent the house on Cielo Drive) and "totally destroy everyone in [it], as gruesome as you can." The members followed direction, and what happened next would horrify the seasoned homicide detectives who worked the case.

Watson entered the home and encountered Frykowski, who was sleeping on the living room couch. He immediately kicked him in the head, and when Frykowski asked who he was and what he was doing there, Watson said, "I'm the devil, and I'm here to do the devil's business." He forced the others into the room and tied Tate and Sebring together by their necks with rope, slinging it over the ceiling beams. When Sebring protested the rough treatment of pregnant Tate, Watson shot him. As Folger and Frykowski were repeatedly stabbed - 28 and 51 times, respectively - Tate was inside, pleading with the deranged murderers to be allowed to live and give birth to her baby; she even offered herself as a hostage. While it isn't known whether Watson or Atkins killed Tate, she was stabbed 16 times while allegedly crying out, "Mother . . . mother . . . "

As they left for Cielo Drive that day, Manson told Atkins and Krenwinkle, both just 21 years old, to "leave a sign . . . something witchy" after the murders. Using a towel, Atkins wrote "pig" on the front door of the house in Tate's blood. The bodies were discovered by Tate's housekeeper, Winifred Chapman, as she arrived at the home for work. Tate was found on her left side in the fetal position, wearing a floral bra and matching underwear. The white nylon rope was around her neck, and still tied to Sebring, who lay about four feet away. There was an X cut onto her stomach. At the time of her horrific and infamous death, Tate was a wife, an expectant mother, and one of Hollywood's most promising rising stars.

This Long-Standing Tootsie Pop Rumor Just Got Debunked - and Our Childhoods Are Ruined

Finding out how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop is pretty much a rite of passage for kids. Another memorable part of the ritual? Smoothing out the wrapper and searching for a boy with a bow and arrow shooting a star, in the hopes of cashing in on some free candy. But unfortunately, finding this image on the wrapper doesn't actually mean you get a free pop - and that's certainly news to us.

According to Tootsie's website, no one is even really sure how that rumor got started.

"It has been rumored that local convenience stores used to give a free Tootsie Pop to anyone who brought in a wrapper containing the image of the shooting star. Unfortunately, we do not know how this rumor started, and Tootsie Roll Industries has never actually honored this promotion."

The website also explains that the boy shooting the star is actually just as common as the rest of the symbols.

"In fact, the shooting star appears on one in every four to six Tootsie Pop wrappers, just as frequent as the other images appear."

Given the fact that the Tootsie Pop was invented in 1931, that's a pretty long-standing rumor. So the next time you grab a sucker from the store, no need to waste your time trying to spot the famous image.

Meghan Markle wore a colorblock Club Monaco dress for the happy occasion, while Princess Eugenie stunned in a light blue number that featured side cutouts.

For her big day, Daisy wore a breathtaking strapless wedding dress that was covered with delicate floral embroidery. She aptly carried a bouquet of daisies that matched her bridal ensemble. While her gown was beautiful, we couldn't help fawning over her floral embroidered veil. Read on to see all of the beautiful wedding pictures.

Beware of These Wines: They're Not as Healthy as You Think

When it comes to vino and your health, some wines are better than others. Red wine, in particular, can be good for you, since it contains resveratrol, an antioxidant that fights aging and promotes greater heart health. Yet there are some wines out there that don't measure up in terms of benefits. To make the most of your wine splurge, avoid these picks that aren't so great for you, as then you're mostly just taking in empty calories to get that buzz. Plus, a tip: red wine has more antioxidants than white, so consider that slight advantage when choosing your bottle.

Riesling

Be wary of those sweet wines. "Though a personal favorite of mine, Riesling contains a very high amount of residual sugar, which in turn is broken down into fat and can also lead to a more severe hangover," says Jared Gelband, wine and beverage director at Italian Village Restaurants in Chicago, to POPSUGAR. Unless you choose a drier Riesling, don't make it your go-to sip to pair with a bowl of pasta. "I recommend Trocken label Rieslings, which are drier and have lower amounts of sugar in the wine, as they are fermented to dry," he adds.

Amarone

A rich Italian dry red wine, Amarone is pretty strong, and it'll get you drunk fast. "Too much alcohol has a negative effect on the liver," he says. It's smart to stay away from certain Amarones, since the full-bodied reds have some of the highest alcohol content, he notes. It can be upwards of 17 percent alcohol by volume, which is a whole lot. If you're drinking this, pace yourself well and don't drink too much.

Nonorganic Wine

Sure, this might be trickier to follow, but in general, organic wine will have fewer sulfites, Gelband says. "Sulfites are a concern. Imbibers report that these compounds cause headaches and allergic reactions," he says. All wines have sulfites to act as a preservative, but certain organic and biodynamic wines don't add additional sulfites to their wines, making them a healthier bottle. "If a guest or diner is concerned about sulfites, I recommend finding a natural wine producer for any type of their favorite pour," he says. Plus, you can also try Just the Wine drops, which help reduce the amount of sulfites in your glass, to see if it helps.

Moscato

Similar to Riesling, Moscato is super, super sweet, he says. This might make it pretty nice for a boozy dessert, but all that sugar can be bad for your health. "Moscato is so sweet because it has more residual sugar, and when sugar is fermented in Moscato, the fermentation process is stopped earlier, so therefore it's sweeter with a much lower alcohol content and more sugar," he explains. Not a great pick for a healthy pour!

Disney World Has New Whipped Pineapple Eclairs That Come With a Tiny Macaron on Top!

Amorette's Patisserie, home to many unique desserts at Disney Springs, is now selling eclairs that pineapple fans will adore. The new Whipped Pineapple Eclair ($6) is filled with pineapple cream, topped with a white chocolate piece, and - wait for it - finished with a miniature, pineapple-shaped passion fruit macaron! Although it's not a Dole Whip dessert, it certainly reminds us of the classic treat, and we happily licked the last of the pineapple-flavored cream filling off our fingers. It's sweet, tart, buttery smooth, and has a bit of crunch thanks to the slender strip of white chocolate on top.

This is a seasonal item at Walt Disney World's Disney Springs, and there's no official end date. However, Amorette's said the eclair could potentially leave the menu by the end of September. Issa Rae is the star and showrunner of HBO's Insecure, and in addition to her undeniable talent, she can thank her fierce drive and attitude for her skyrocketing career. The 33-year-old badass stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday to promote the new episodes of her show, which is currently on its third season. While discussing what's up with Molly, Daniel, and more, she revealed the best piece of advice she's gotten since finding success, which was given to her by fellow women in the industry, like Shonda Rimes and Ava DuVernay.

"As a showrunner, being in the industry, just as a woman, once you're labeled 'difficult,' your career is kinda over, 'cause then it's like everybody's saying, 'Oh she's hard to work with, beware.' And then you don't get many chances to fail," she said. "The advice from them was, 'Don't be afraid to be a b*tch,' and it's so true."

All we have to say to that is, "Preach!" Watch the rest of the interview above to see a clip of Insecure before it premieres on Aug. 12 at 10: 30 p.m.

Want to Switch Your Birth Control Method? Here's What You Should Know

Finding the right birth control can be a tricky process. Even after carefully weighing options with your gynecologist and selecting the best method for your needs, you may eventually find yourself thinking about switching to another method of contraception. If you are having trouble remembering to take the pill every day, for example, or want to give the IUD a try, there are some steps you might have to take to make a switch.

First, it's good to identify the pros and cons of your current birth control so you can figure out what else is on the market that might work for you. "Finding the right birth control can be tricky, as it is such an individual experience and comes down to trial and error," says Dr. Navya Mysore, MD. "What one woman responds to well may not be the right fit for another. Reactions to birth control that might make you switch are spotting in between your period, breakthrough bleeding, mood swings, increased acne, lower libido, headaches, migraines, or even sensitivity or irritated skin from the patch."

Want to talk to your doctor about the pros and cons of switching contraceptives? Dr. Mysore shared a few tips to get you started:

  • If you're considering an IUD, ask your provider more about the insertion experience.
  • Use a backup method for at least seven days when making a switch between birth controls.
  • If you're thinking of moving to condoms, have a discussion with your partner to see if this is a realistic choice for the both of you - it's important that condoms are used consistently and properly.
  • If you have a progesterone-only IUD and want to switch to birth control pills, your medical history will come into play. If you have a history of migraines with aura, for example, you may only be able to take the progesterone-only pill.
  • Be prepared for headaches, nausea, or mood swings when moving from one form to another for a period of time while you adjust.

There is also the risk of additional side effects from your new birth control. You should keep careful track of any symptoms and report them to your doctor. "These side effects can range from unscheduled bleeding to mood swings to hair loss, while noncontraceptive benefits [of birth control] include improvement of acne, lighter and more predictable cycles, and decreasing risk of female reproductive tract cancers," shares Dr. Jennifer Hollings, a board-certified ob-gyn.

In addition to using condoms to prevent STIs, Dr. Hollings recommends condoms for their contraceptive effects as you get used to your new birth control. "If pregnancy is undesired, use the current form of contraception until the new contraception is available to prevent unintended pregnancy," she says. "If a woman is planning to switch from one pill to another pill, patch, or ring, just complete the package or month's supply and move right along."

How Many Calories Do You Burn in a Day? This Number May Be the Key to Losing Weight

If you've ever tried to lose weight, then you're probably familiar with the calories-in, calories-out equation: to drop pounds, you need to burn more calories than you take in. But how many calories do you burn on an average day? Most people think only about how many calories they burn during a workout. In reality, your body is working all day long burning calories to function and survive.

Of course, everyone's body is different and burns calories at different rates, thanks to their metabolisms - it's why my 5'11" husband can eat an entire Tombstone pizza in one sitting and still weigh less than I do (no shame). But in general, there's a guideline to figure out how many calories you burn in a day. Understanding that number is the key to figuring out how many calories you should eat depending on your goals: whether you want to lose weight, maintain, or gain.

Understanding Your TDEE and BMR

The total number of calories that your body expends in 24 hours is known as its total daily energy expenditure, or TDEE. This includes all activities, including what your body burns to maintain bodily function and activity.

To understand your TDEE, it starts with your basal metabolic rate, or BMR, which is the amount of energy a person needs to keep their body functioning at rest. This accounts for what your body burns to keep your heart beating, keep your brain functioning, digest food, and so on. However, this number doesn't account for daily activity or intense workouts.

You can get your BMR tested using a variety of scanners, including machines that send electrodes through your body, like the InBody Scan, or a smart scale. If you don't have access to any of these devices, you can also calculate it using a math formula known as the Harris-Benedict formula. For a woman, the calculation is:

BMR = 655 + (1.8 x height in centimeters) + (9.6 x weight in kilograms) - (4.7 x age in years)

For a woman who is 30, 5'6" (167.6 centimeters), and 150 pounds (68 kilograms), her BMR would be: 655 + 301.7 + 653 - 141 = approximately 1,470 calories a day.

Factoring In Your Activity Level

To get your full TDEE, you need to multiply your BMR by your activity level. Using the Harris-Benedict formula, the equations look like:

  • Sedentary (little or no exercise, desk job): BMR x 1.2
  • Lightly active (light exercise or sports one to three days a week): BMR x 1.375
  • Moderately active (moderate exercise or sports six to seven days a week): BMR x 1.55
  • Very active (hard exercise every day or exercising twice a day): BMR x 1.725
  • Extra active (hard exercise two or more times per day, or training for a marathon or triathlon): BMR x 1.9

So if your BMR is 1,470 calories a day and you are moderately active six to seven days a week, your TDEE would be approximately 2,280 calories a day.

Although this formula is a good place to start, it's not exact. If you embark on a particularly difficult workout one day, for example, you will probably burn more calories than on active rest days where you just walk for 30 minutes.

How to Use Your TDEE to Meet Your Goals

Once you've figured out your TDEE, you can use this number to figure out how many calories you should eat in a day. If your TDEE is 2,280, you can continue to eat 2,280 calories a day to maintain your weight. If you want to lose weight at a healthy rate of one pound a week (remember, the more slowly you lose the weight, the more likely you are to keep it off), you would have to decrease your calorie intake each day by 500 calories since one pounds equals 3,500 calories, explained registered dietitian and personal trainer Jim White, ACSM, owner of Jim White Fitness and Nutrition Studios. So instead of 2,280, you would eat 1,780 calories a day.

To gain weight, you should shoot to eat more than you burn. Putting on muscle requires strength training and an increase in protein, about 0.5 to 0.8 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight (75-120 grams of protein for that 150-pound person). In general, you should start with eating a few hundred more calories a day than you burn and adjust from there. As always, be sure to visit a doctor or registered dietitian to decide on your exact daily calorie needs.

The Avengers: Infinity War Gag Reel Is 40 Seconds of Pure Joy

If you're still torn up about the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, then I highly suggest you 1.) go see a therapist, and 2.) kick back, relax, and enjoy the film's hilarious gag reel. (It's pretty much the only way to get the sound of Peter Parker saying, "Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good," out of your head, trust me.) Although Marvel has only released the first 40 seconds of the bloopers so far, the full video - as well as featurettes and deleted scenes - will be headed your way when Infinity War arrives on Blu-ray on Aug. 14 (and then hopefully on Netflix in a few months). Put that box of tissues away and check it out above.

Venom Isn't Even Out Yet and There's Already Talk of a Sequel AND Spinoffs

Venom is still a few months away from hitting theaters, but there's already talk of all the potential sequels and spinoffs it might spawn. According to Variety, if the film ends up being as good as the trailer makes it seem, and it delivers at the box office, then Sony will move fast to introduce a number of heroes and villains from the Spider-Man universe in the form of sequels to the Tom Hardy outing, as well as standalone films. At the moment, Sony's licensing pact with Marvel affords them the rights to around 900 characters, so the possibilities are pretty much endless.

At the moment, Sony is already moving forward with plans to make Morbius, a vampire and frequent foe for Spider-Man, with Safe House director Daniel Espinosa at the helm and Jared Leto starring. On top of that, The Equalizer 2's Richard Wenk is writing a screenplay centering on the story of Kraven the Hunter, and the studio is making moves to develop scripts based on the characters of Silk (a Korean-American superheroine), Jackpot (an older, female masked vigilante), and Nightwatch (a doctor-turned-hero with powers of invisibility). There was also a Silver & Black film in the works, which would follow Silver Sable and Black Cat, but Sony has nixed that in favor of breaking each character out into a standalone film, starting with Black Cat aka burglar Felicia Hardy.

Sanford Panitch, who is the president of Columbia Pictures and oversees Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters, recently explained a bit of their thought process. "We're focused on being faithful to the comics," he said. "We believe Black Cat is enough of her own character with a great backstory and a canon of material to draw from to justify her own film."

It might seem like Sony is putting the cart before the horse if everything hinges around Venom's success, similar to what happened to all of Disney's standalone Star Wars films that were scrapped after the box office disappointment of Solo. Fortunately, between Venom's star-studded cast (Tom Hardy! Michelle Williams! Riz Ahmed!) and its capable director (Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer), the odds are stacked in favor of the antihero's success both critically and financially.

Idris Elba Is Reportedly Going to Be the Next 007 - Does He Need Bond Girls?

It seems like every year, fans go through a bout of hearing rumors that the next James Bond could be Idris Elba, going into a fervor because hell yes, and then ultimately being disappointed when it all proves to be just that - rumors. The speculation dates back to 2014, when the controversial Sony hacking scandal went down and a leaked email from studio chief Amy Pascal reportedly read, "Idris should be the next bond." She was obviously preaching to the choir, because people were all for it. Especially since the franchise's upcoming film will be the last time Daniel Craig will reprise the iconic role. However, Elba has maintained for years that he isn't going to play the superspy, though he is flattered by the idea. He's even suggested that the role be taken up by a woman, instead.

However, there's just something about Elba that screams James Bond. At least, the franchise's producers certainly seem to think so, because the rumors have started circulating once again. According to The Daily Star, Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli has said "it is time" for a non-white actor to take on the iconic role. Director Antoine Fuqua revealed that in a conversation with Broccoli, the producer said she was certain that the move "will happen eventually" and named Elba as the reported frontrunner to take over for Craig when he hangs up his suit.

It may not seem like much, but it's a more than enough to spark hope in the hearts of many who would love to see Elba order that martini shaken, not stirred. To put it simply:

15 Years After Friends, David Schwimmer Is Starring on Another Hit NBC Sitcom

David Schwimmer will be returning to NBC's Must See TV lineup! The actor is set to star in a recurring role on Will & Grace this upcoming season, according to Deadline. Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the hit show Friends from 1994 to 2004, will play Grace (Debra Messing)'s latest love interest in a "five-episode arc," the outlet reported.

The second season of the successful reboot will premiere in the Fall. In March, NBC also renewed the Will & Grace revival for an 18-episode third season. Schwimmer's role marks his return to network TV since Friends; his last small-screen project was the crime drama The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and his portrayal of the late Robert Kardashian earned him an Emmy nomination in 2016. One question: will they give his Will & Grace character a pet monkey?

In Case You're Wondering If We'll See Lawrence in Season 3 of Insecure . . .

Insecure's third season premieres on Aug. 12, and we're looking forward to getting some of the questions we're left with after the finale of season two answered. From questionable pregnancies to even more questionable relationships, season two left us reeling from a whirlwind of emotions. But there's one question everyone had after watching Issa and Lawrence tearfully say goodbye, a montage of what could have been still burning in our brains: is that really the end of the couple? Are we officially saying goodbye to Lawrence Walker and everything that came with him? Do we really have to say goodbye to Jay Ellis's beautiful face?

Sorry to tell you, Team Lawrence, but the finale of season two is officially his swan song. The rumors surrounding his appearance in the show began after Ellis revealed that he hadn't been involved with the show since production began filming season three. When the trailer dropped and there was no sign of Ellis, fans definitely took notice. Show creator, actress, and writer Issa Rae confirmed the news during the HBO Insecure Fest in Los Angeles and explained that the show aims to stay as true to life as possible.

"They had a great conversation at the end of season two and it was just about like, hey, she's moving on Daniel, sometimes we have those conversations," Rae told Vulture. "You never see the exes again. And it's okay! You gotta explore life without Lawrence."

Fans may be in their feelings over the news, but Rae isn't too concerned about it. To be fair, it would be incredibly weird if the two broke up and still hung around one another. That's not how you get closure, folks! Ellis himself told us he doesn't know "if there's a future for [Issa and Lawrence]" after last season, and he was right. Of course, this doesn't mean we'll never see Lawrence again. He and Issa have parted ways, but you never know what future seasons may bring. We already know Issa is the type to harbor feelings for old flames (it's how she got into it with Daniel, after all), so never say never!

For now, use this as an excuse to rewatch seasons one and two, bond with your fellow #LawrenceHive members, and get ready for more shenanigans from Issa and co. in season three. It's gonna be alright!

I'm a Fitness Editor, and This Is What I Think Is Going to Be the Next Big Thing in Fitness

As someone who's extremely invested in fitness - I was a former division 1 sprinter, I have my own personal training business, and I'm a fitness editor - I think it's safe to say that I'm always on top of the next big trend in fitness.

Knowing the next big trend is a big thing since fitness is an $80 billion industry globally - and growing. I remember the rise of boutique fitness studios (they're still on the rise), how APL shook up the sneaker industry, and I'm telling you all now that at-home EMS systems like the PowerDot Smart Muscle Stimulator ($249) are going to be the next fitness trend focused on workout recovery.

What Is Electric Muscle Stimulation?

Electric muscle stimulation (EMS) has been around for years and is often used for recovery, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Stim devices, regularly used by professionals and elite athletes for EMS treatment, are becoming more common among the general population. EMS sends electrical impulses from a device to the designated area on the body, creating involuntary muscle contractions, which is beneficial in a variety of ways. A 2012 study published in the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine reported that EMS is effective in improving muscle strength and blood flow, decreasing atrophy, healing tissue, and decreasing pain. These are good things for anyone interested in pushing their body.

What Is PowerDot?

The PowerDot provides all of these benefits without the hassle of going to a specialist. Traditionally, to get stim treatments, you must see a professional, like a physical therapist. The PT rolls out a machine, pulls out a bunch of cords, and places pads on your body to target the treatment to specific areas. If you've ever gotten stim before, you know you're stuck on the table, unable to move, for close to 30 minutes.

PowerDot completely changes the game - it's a portable EMS machine described by its maker as "the world's first smart muscle stimulator." To my surprise, the device is quite easy to use. You have two options; the PowerDot Uno ($249) comes with one pod and allows you to apply stimulation to one muscle group at a time and comes with one pod, four sets of electrode pads, one set of lead cables, a charging cable, and a carrying case. The PowerDot Duo ($449) allows you to apply stimulation to two areas simultaneously and comes with two pods, four sets of electrode pads, two sets of lead cables, two charging cables, and a carrying case. The three-inch-long pods connect to two electrode pads with the lead cable.

Before using your PowerDot for the first time, download the app, pair the Bluetooth pods to your phone or tablet, and then select which muscle group(s) you want to target in the app. From there, the app allows you to select your specific recovery program (active recovery, extended recovery, massage, warmup) and provides instructions on how to set up the pods and where to place the electrode pads. It's basically impossible to mess up your stim treatment since the app guides you through each step. During the treatment, you control the intensity of the stimulation and you have the freedom to move around. I've done the treatment more than 15 feet away from my phone and have never experienced a Bluetooth interruption. I've also accidentally closed the app while on my phone, and the treatment continued until it reached its designated time.

Why I Think It's Worth the Investment

Yes, I know that spending $249 (or $449) is a major investment for most. But, in my opinion, if you're someone who is extremely active and wants to perform at your best, you've got to invest in your body. It doesn't matter if you're working with the best trainer in the world if your body feels like sh*t from the lack of an adequate recovery program. I played sports my entire life, and one of the lessons that always stuck with me, thanks to my collegiate track and field coach, is that you've got to do your recovery work. EMS alone won't alleviate your pain, but combined with yoga, sports massages, active release technique, and other treatments, you will notice a difference in your body. These methods help reduce muscle tension, treat knots, flush your body of toxins, and prevent injury.

I also love this machine because I don't have to pay to see a physical therapist who will essentially do the same treatment for about the cost of my PowerDot. I can treat myself in the comfort of my own home and still tackle my other daily tasks. I once treated a minor hamstring strain while cleaning my apartment, and I have also cooked dinner while doing treatments. I've been using my PowerDot device for close to five months now and I'm so happy I have it. Now that I'm beginning to do to more track workouts, I know my body is thankful for it. Yes, it's more expensive than a foam roller, but I promise you it's worth the investment in the long run.

How to Identify Your Body Type, and Why Doing So Is About Way More Than Looks

Identifying your body type can actually be helpful in unlocking your weight-loss potential. According to Carolyn Mein at YourTango, understanding how you're built can be instrumental in achieving your fitness and weight-loss goals.

Give your body what it needs.

If you've unsuccessfully tried to shed pounds and keep looking for the best way to lose weight, you've probably tried all sorts of diets and exercise routines in the past that haven't worked. But by discovering whether you're an ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph body type, you can learn the best way to lose weight for yourbody so you can start seeing results faster.

The truth is, a healthy diet and exercise are just parts of your optimal health and wellness plan, not the whole thing. Your body type, whether it's ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph, plays a critical role.

So if you're ignoring what your specific body type needs, you're likely to have a harder time losing weight and reaching your weight-loss goals.

"Each body type gains weight and stores fat differently, which is why knowing yours can help you improve your health or even lose weight," says Dr. Carolyn Mein, a body type expert.

According to somatotype theory, the three main body types are ectomorphs, mesomorphs, or endomorphs. These "types" suggest how fat gets stored on your body and if you tend toward being lean versus being bigger or having more muscle tissue.

"Your body type is something you're born with," says Dr. Mein, "and it's determined by your dominant gland, organ, or system."

Your body type also controls your ability to gain or lose weight, in addition to affecting which diet and exercise regimens will work best.

For example, some people have no problem eating a protein-packed meal of steak and eggs every morning for breakfast, whereas others can't stomach anything more than a cup of coffee and a piece of toast.

Your food likes, dislikes, and cravings all stem from the same place: your body type.

Here's how to figure out if you're an ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph body type:

1. Ectomorphs

Ectomorphs are usually long and lean. These people can be incredibly lithe by nature, and often have difficulty building muscle.

If you're an ectomorph, you might even struggle with gaining weight, versus other types, since your body is great at processing carbohydrates and burning fat off quickly.

2. Mesomorphs

If you're a mesomorph, then you likely don't have an issue storing body fat, and most of your muscle is well-defined and super easy to pack on, despite the fact that you might take your naturally athletic build for granted and never step foot in a gym.

If your build puts muscle on easily and melts fat off, you're likely one of these lucky types.

3. Endomorphs

Endomorphs have quite a different problem than their ectomorphic counterparts. Endomorphs excel at storing fat in their lower body - specifically around the belly - and have trouble losing it once it's been put on.

From an evolutionary standpoint, this body type is amazing: This was the type of body that was perfect for storing fat during long periods of scarcity, which guaranteed your ability to survive droughts, harsh winters, or poor food seasons.

In the modern age, however, this type can also gain weight the quickest, which is not beneficial to man's increasingly sedentary lifestyle.

Dr. Mein has created a system of twenty-five body types - including their over or underweight counterparts - but there are significant differences between the three primary groups. Of these body types, it should be easy to figure out which one correlates to you.

Most people are actually a combination of the types, rather than just one on its own, but this can still help you figure out the method that your body needs to be at its best, whether that comes from eating better, exercising differently, or knowing which types of food you're really craving.

Because once you better understand your body's unique set of needs, you can learn to work with your body to reach your weight loss goals and improve your health.

Dr. Carolyn L. Mein is a chiropractic physician with an active practice in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, who developed the 25-body type system as a way to help her patients attain and maintain their ideal weight and energy levels by eating the foods that best support their bodies. She is also the author of Different Bodies, Different Diets. To learn more about the 25-body type system and determine your body type, visit her website.

What is a kettlebell?

We've all had this question at some point! A kettlebell is cast-iron, ball-shaped weight with a single handle. Its unique shape allows you to combine strength and flexibility training and cardio.

How heavy should I start out?

We recommend you begin with a eight-kg (18-pound) kettlebell or 12 kg if you're working just your lower body.

What are the benefits of using a kettlebell?

"Incorporating kettlebell flows into your fitness routine can help you maximize your overall fitness by allowing you to work on various fitness components all at once," said Eric Leija, senior kettlebell specialist at Onnit, also known as primal.swoledier on Instagram. "Kettlebell flowing enhances your endurance, strength, and mobility and allows you to explore different movements to keep your routine fun and challenging."

What is a kettlebell flow?

"A kettlebell flow essentially is a combination of individual kettlebell movements pieced together into a seamless 'flow' or routine," Eric said. "An example of this would be sequencing a kettlebell clean, swing, and snatch, then repeating the movements in this order for a given amount of time or repetitions."

Without further ado, here are nine kettlebell exercises to get comfortable doing.

The calorie counts may surprise you. Here's the nutritional info for one glass, can, or bottle of beer (about 12 ounces).
