Parents, Please Don't Give Your Kids a Puppy on Christmas Morning

Nothing compares to watching the excitement on your kids' faces when they open their gifts on Christmas morning. They eagerly rip open the boxes and their eyes instantly light up when they see that Santa has brought them the thing they've wanted more than anything. And for some on Christmas morning, that means a puppy. Those lovable creatures, with their floppy ears and giant feet, are a guaranteed hit. I mean, who wouldn't want a puppy? They're a great addition to any family. But just because everyone loves them doesn't mean they should be given as gifts. Keep reading for why you shouldn't give a puppy as a gift on Christmas morning, and how to safely bring one home if you do get one during the holiday season.

1. Christmas Is Too Overwhelming

Christmas is a notoriously hectic day. From opening gifts to cooking to having family over or going to someone else's house, Christmas just isn't the time to introduce a tiny puppy into your home and family. Kids, especially little kids, can also get emotional, scream, or grab at the puppy, which could scare them. This is especially true if your new pet isn't house trained yet. Getting a new animal on Christmas will add a whole new level of stress for you and for the puppy.

Dog expert Cesar Millan points out: "You've just thrown [them] into a completely alien environment with no direction, and these early associations are going to stick. The place is unfamiliar, it smells different, and there doesn't seem to be any way out." Unless you're going to stop the whole Christmas gift-giving process and devote your whole day to the dog, chances are you're going to really stress out your new pup.

2. Pets Are Family Members

Living, breathing creatures like puppies and kittens aren't toys - they're new members of the family that will require love and attention for the next 9 to 15 years. Puppies should require a great amount of thought and preparation. They need a fleet of supplies, from crates and beds to food and toys, and they need the time and space to acclimate to their new things and home.

3. Children Might Want to Have a Say

When I've adopted animals in the past, the shelter workers always ask if every member of the family is present and OK with the adoption of a pet. One shelter wouldn't even let me adopt my pup until I brought my roommate in to confirm that she was on board. Largely, this process should hold true for kids. If you're expecting children to love and take care of a puppy for the next decade at least, they should have some say in which puppy they get, otherwise this is just a gift for you, and that's not the way gifts work.

4. Instead, Plan a Family Trip

That being said, you can still "give a puppy" for Christmas. Instead of putting a puppy in a box or stocking, give your kid the puppy toys, the crate, or a leash. Explain to them what this gift means, and that they'll be able to help pick out and rescue their new pet. They'll feel more invested in the process because they get to help. As part of your gift, pick a day as a family to go look at puppies, and after Christmas has died down, come up with a plan. This way, your family is happy and prepared, and a puppy has the best shot at adjusting to their new home and family with ease.

Starbucks Is Giving Out Free Reusable Holiday Cups - but Only For 1 Day

I don't know about you, but Starbucks appears in my monthly bank statements a whoooole lot more during Fall and Winter. The temptation to warm myself up every chilly day with a Gingerbread Latte or Peppermint Mocha is usually too real to resist, which unfortunately results in quite the money suck. Thankfully, Starbucks understands this all-too-familiar struggle and is helping out our wallets this year.

The coffee chain will offer customers who order a holiday beverage on Nov. 2 a free (yes, totally free) reusable red holiday cup, while supplies last. These limited-edition cups will score you 50 cents off any Grande-sized holiday drink ordered after 2 p.m. between Nov. 3 and Jan. 7. But remember: these cups will only be given out on Nov. 2, the same day that Starbucks's four newest holiday cups debut, so be sure to set a reminder so you can snag one and sip your first festive drink of the season in eco-friendly style.

Sick of Paying For Gel Manicures? I Got Everything I Needed For Less on Amazon

If you want something done well, do it yourself - and if you want to stop paying $35 for a gel manicure every two weeks, buy some supplies and learn to paint your own damn nails.

Regular manicures are very important to my overall self-care routine, but the price tag that comes along with shiny gel nails often isn't feasible, even for those with a bit of disposable income. A few weeks ago, after paying $65 for a pedicure and a gel manicure, I hit a wall.

I logged on to Amazon and proceeded to spend two hours piecing together the perfect gel kit. I didn't want to completely overspend - after all, I'm trying to save money here - but I also wanted to buy nice materials that would give me the same quality as a salon manicure. Two hours and $94 later, I found the perfect combination. I bought a total of five products (which you can see ahead), but I also have an existing cabinet full of cotton balls and nail files. If you don't have the basics, you may need to invest slightly more money.

My first go-around was tense. Painting your nails is low-pressure when you can just wipe it off with some remover, but gel requires precision. If you mess up, the fix may require you to completely file off your polish and start from scratch. I'm not terrible with a polish brush, and I made it all the way to the top-coat layer until really screwing up. I'm a top-coat fanatic, so I heaped healthy dollops on my thumbs . . . then watched the viscous liquid slide down onto my skin and instantly harden under the UV lamp. I clipped off the excess and filed the shellac down, and my thumbs looked near-perfect. You can see the finished product above - not bad for my first try, hunched over my bathroom sink, eh?

Here's everything I bought, all of which I would recommend.

This is not your average gift guide.

Rather, the holiday beauty products herein aren't for one particular person - they are for everyone. The FDA Moves to Remove Lead From Hair Color, So You Can Dye in Peace

Not-so-fun-fact: you might have to worry about lead being in your hair dye - but the good news is that the FDA has taken a major step to change that. The organization has repealed the approval for the use of toxic chemical compound lead acetate from hair coloring products. While few hair coloring products on the US market still contain lead, it has been in dyes sold to gradually recolor gray hair, NBC News reported.

Exposure to lead has been "linked to developmental issues, reduced fertility, organ system toxicity, cancer, and other serious health problems," according to Melanie Benesh, legislative attorney at EWG. To that we say, good riddance.

Kourtney Kardashian Was Ariana Grande For Halloween, So of Course Her Ponytail Was Epic

Kourtney Kardashian as Ariana Grande will certainly make you do a double take. Among her many costumes this year, the 39-year-old reality TV star channeled the 25-year-old pop star by recreating the same look Grande wore during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in May. In addition to wearing a similar pink minidress and thigh-high boots, Kardashian nailed Grande's signature hair and makeup.

Neutral lip? Check. Dramatic cat eye? Check. Edgy hair accessories? Check. Sky-high ponytail? Oh, you better believe it. Not only that, but Kardashian took the ponytail to the next level by crimping it, which gives it a little extra pop-star flair. The costume was quickly noticed by Grande, who commented a string of black hearts on Kardashian's post. See pictures of the sweet tribute ahead.

The Skincare Launches Beauty Editors Are Thankful For This Month

It doesn't take Axl Rose belting a nine-minute, 16-second ballad to understand that November can be a cold, merciless month. The falling temperatures! The uptick in breakups! The potentially (but most definitely) life-altering election!

Still, there is a lot to be thankful for these next 30 days - like government-mandated holidays that give you a few days off from work, and the surge of new skincare launches that make coping with the stress a little bit easier. But because we have zero jurisdiction over your PTO schedule, we've asked editors to help with the latter by sharing their favorite face creams, cleansers, and more to try right now.

Ready for our picks? Cue up the Guns N' Roses and rock on.

Bring Da Ruckus - a Wu-Tang x Milk Makeup Collection Is Here

Gilded dragons and the group's signature W's emblazoned on luxe black packaging: that's what you'll find in Wu-Tang's new collaboration with Milk Makeup. The beauty brand will be releasing a 24-karat, gold-plated mirror, a trio of lapel pins, and a box set of eight lipsticks (which you can also purchase individually). The collab celebrates Wu-Tang and Milk Makeup's relationship - the group even performed at Milk Gallery back in 2012 - and combined love of New York.

The lipstick set is the star of this already-shining collection. It's available in eight buttery hues: Sacred (shimmery rose gold), Fire (matte red-orange), Chi (creamy true red), Flow (creamy warm rose), Frequency (glittery purple), Cypher (creamy woodrose), Ruckus (creamy pink), and Source (a deep red) - all of which are buildable when swiped and wear comfortably. What's even more impressive is each lipstick's heavyweight casing. Pop open the top of any of the shades and you'll be greeted with the golden hardware carved to look like a dragon, then snap it close with its slick magnetic closure.

The collection is dropping today and will only be available on milkmakeup.com while supplies last.

Why You Should Care About "Blue Beauty" Just as Much as Green Beauty

No doubt you've seen an abundance of dialogue about "green beauty," but we bet you've not heard the phrase "blue beauty" before. However, it's just as important.

It's time we took a long, hard look at the way we consume beauty in an effort to help protect our oceans. The recent banning of plastic beads in products and many companies getting rid of plastic straws has shone a light on the need for this, but is there more that can be done? Jillian Wright, founder of the Indie Beauty Expo, thinks so. The Indie Beauty Expo is a platform that allows small brands to showcase their products and their ethos. This gives Wright a firsthand look at upcoming trends, industry insights, and knowledge of how brands are becoming more "natural" and environmentally friendly. While speaking to Wright about all things indie, she also introduced us to the concept of blue beauty, and we quizzed her on everything we all need to know.

"Conscious beauty is not a trend, it's a movement."

What Is Blue Beauty?

"Project blue beauty" was spearheaded by the founder of Beauty Hereos, Jeannie Jarnot, in an effort to create a better and bluer planet. Jarnot and Kapua Browning, the founder of Honua, hosted a beach clean up in Oahu, Hawaii, which resulted in a collection of a staggering 700 pounds of plastic. During this time, Hawaii banned two widely used sunscreen chemicals - oxybenzone and octinoxate - in an effort to help the oceans. Wright explained that, "blue beauty specifically supports ocean conservation, using reef safe ingredients and moving towards zero-waste packaging, or packaging that is virtually plastic free."

How Does Blue Beauty Differ From Green Beauty?

Wright says that the thought behind the two is very similar and aims to educate consumers about the effects products have not only on their bodies but on the planet, too. "Green beauty is about the transparency of ingredients, where these ingredients are sourced, how they are harvested, manufactured, what resources are used to produce the formulas, how it is packaged and distributed," she said. Blue beauty is a segment of this, but is more concerned with the oceans' well-being and preservation.

How Do Beauty Products Contribute to These Environmental Risks?

You might be wondering how exactly products are harmful to oceans. Firstly, it's all down to the packaging. Wasteful and unnecessary packaging is unlikely to be recyclable and will eventually end up in the ocean, damaging the ecosystem of the sea and the animals that inhabit it. As well as this, Wright notes that a number of common chemicals are known to be harmful to marine ecosystems. Often found in sunscreen, chemicals such as oxybenzone and octinoxate are said to be contributing to coral bleaching when worn while swimming in the ocean (though they are by no means the only culprits).

"Everyone has to make their own choices, but choices being the operative word; we have choice."

However, this does not mean anyone should not stop using sunscreen - our bodies are precious, too. If your dilemma is either using oxybenzone or nothing at all, always choose the sunscreen. That said, if you'd like to consciously make the effort to buy products without these chemicals, there are options. When it comes to buying an ocean-safe sun protector, the key is considering chemical versus mineral sunscreen. Chemical sunscreen contains ingredients such as oxybenzone and when in contact with water, can cause harm, whereas mineral or physical sunscreen is made up of active ingredients, such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide that don't pose such a risk.

What Are Brands Doing to Protect Our Ecosystems and Oceans?

Wright says that brands need to consider a number of factors. "If you think about the life cycle of a product from start to finish, you will realize how important it is for brands to be aware of the impact it might have on our oceans," she said. "From growing and harvesting to using additive ingredients like emulsifiers and preservatives to production and filling to packaging to usage, and then finally, when someone throws the bottle away. When producing a formula, how much water does it require? Are the ingredients polluting our waterways? What's happening when we apply it onto our skin, then wash it off? What's happening with the plastic components? Are they properly being recycled or thrown away?" There is a lot to consider.

Brands such as Ethique create products that are made with biodegradable packaging in an effort to reduce the number of shampoo and conditioner bottles that end up in landfills and oceans. And Love Sun Body and Babo Botanicals only include chemicals deemed to be "reef safe" in their sunscreens.

"Everyone has to make their own choices, but 'choices' being the operative word; we have choice," Wright said. If you have the privilege financially to make these choices, you can do your part to save the planet. "Conscious beauty is not a trend, it's a movement," she said. "Your personal care is driven by awareness and intelligence, and there is always room for more people to join in this conversation. You hold the power in the way you spend your money, so spend it on brands that do good."

Ahead, shop some of our favorite beauty products that are blue beauty safe.

Attention, Hello Kitty Fanatics: Your Skincare Dreams Have Just Come True

Honestly, washing our faces is not the most exciting part of our laborious skincare routines - unless, of course, you happen to get some cleanser stuck in your eyes. Proactiv must have known we needed some pep in our skin care when it teamed up with Sanrio to bring us an ultracute new collaboration. Starting Nov. 1, the Proactiv Hello Kitty Brush Set ($70) will be available at your local Ulta store.

The set features Proactiv MD's cult cleanser - the Deep Cleansing Face Wash ($30) - and a face-cleaning brush with a limited-edition Hello Kitty-shaped handle to clear away dirt and oil from your skin. The device comes with three brush heads for customized cleansing. You can use the bristle brush head for a daily deep clean, the charcoal brush head for brightening and deep cleansing, and the silicone brush head for improving texture with a micro-massage.

"Proactiv is a leader in skincare innovation and cleansing products," said Jill Koch, senior vice president of licensing and business development at Sanrio, Inc. "We look forward to launching our partnership with Proactiv later this year to offer a new limited-edition Hello Kitty Brush Kit that will bring smiles to our fans, along with healthy-looking skin."

Considering the massive popularity of our feline friend (there's even an entire restaurant dedicated to her in Japan), we're certain that this collection will sell out fast. We can't wait to get our hands on this in November, but until then, we'll keep using our Hello Kitty makeup blenders.

Who Knows Justin Timberlake Better: Jessica Biel or Jimmy Fallon?

Justin Timberlake may not have had a voice when he appeared on The Tonight Show on Thursday, but he did have his other half. Last week, Justin revealed that his vocal chords are severely bruised, forcing him to postpone some tour dates and rest his voice. The Tonight Show must go on, though, so the singer sat down with BFF Jimmy Fallon to promote his new book, Hindsight: & All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me. The pair got creative with their communication, and at one point, Jessica joined them to play "The Best Friends Challenge," which tested Jessica's and Jimmy's knowledge of JT. Watch the hilarious clip above, then check out the fun Halloween costumes they wore alongside their son, Silas.

Beyoncé and JAY-Z Make a Statement With Their Iconic Halloween Costumes

You thought Beyoncé would wear one Halloween costume this year and be done with it? Oh, ye of little faith! After making us all bow down (b*tches) over the weekend with her tribute to Toni Braxton, on Oct. 31, Beyoncé shared her second costume of the year, and it's just as iconic as the first. This time around, Bey paid homage to legendary athlete Florence Griffith Joyner, aka Flo-Jo. Thirty years ago, in 1988, Florence set two new world records in the 100- and 200-meter races, making her the fastest woman in the world. Though she passed away 10 years later, she remains the unbeaten champion.

Beyoncé's costume took us back to the 1988 Olympic trials, where Flo-Jo set her first record, ahead of three Olympic gold medal wins. Bey sported one of the athlete's trademark "one legger" bodysuits, and as ever, no detail was missed, from the graphic-print briefs to the exact wording on her race number. JAY-Z, meanwhile, stood alongside Bey dressed in tribute to Tommie Smith, who won the bronze medal in the 200 meters at the 1968 Olympics. Alongside fellow athlete John Carlos, he performed a salute from the podium to protest racism and injustice against African-Americans in the USA, in what is considered to be a hugely symbolic moment for the Black Power movement.

Keep reading for a closer look at Beyoncé and JAY-Z's costumes and to see the original icons who inspired their statement-making couples costume.

This Is Not a Drill - You Could Win a Date With Outlander Star Sam Heughan in Scotland

If the mere sight of Outlander's smoldering hunk Sam Heughan makes you feel all warm and tingly inside, then prepare for some good news. You could actually meet Sam in person and go on a date with him in his native Scotland. In partnership with Omaze, an organization that encourages people to donate money to causes they care about while offering them the chance to meet a celebrity, Sam is encouraging fans and philanthropists to donate to his campaign for the opportunity to have a fairy-tale outing with him.

Anyone who wants to support the campaign can go to Omaze's website and donate $10 to the initiative. Proceeds will benefit My Peak Challenge, a charity that aims to help people live a healthier lifestyle and encourages them to overcome physical challenges. It will also benefit Bloodwise, an organization that helps fund blood cancer research, and Marie Curie, a foundation that offers services to those with terminal illnesses and their families.

The lucky donor will attend the My Peak Challenge gala with Sam and ride a horse-drawn carriage to a Scotland castle, where they'll be able to chat with Sam at a whiskey tasting. To learn more about the campaign, check out the video above before giving for a good cause!

Harry Reacts to a Meghan Look-Alike: "There's Only 1 Person That Looks Like My Wife"

There may be a handful of Meghan Markle look-alikes out in the world, but Prince Harry wants everyone to know that his wife is one of a kind. While greeting a crowd in New Zealand on Tuesday, Meghan stumbled across a fan who bore a striking resemblance to her. After nearby onlookers pointed it out to Harry, he, of course, had the sweetest response: "There's only one person that looks like my wife." Aw! Harry and Meghan have been serving up so many cute moments during their royal tour of Australia and New Zealand, and it's clear he only has eyes for Meghan.

This Guy's Jon Snow Halloween Costume Will Blow You Away, but Not For the Reason You Think

At this point, I hope you're aware of who Jon Snow is. He's in the photo above, if not. He's also one of the many heroes in a little show called Game of Thrones, in which he's miraculously still alive. And, apparently, he's also the inspiration for one of the greatest Halloween costumes I've ever seen.

Since the HBO fantasy series premiered back in 2011, people have been dressing up as the potential Prince Who Was Promised, but few have put quite as an original spin on the concept as Reddit user jorken24. Rather than simply draping a furry Ikea rug over his shoulders and calling it a day, he decided to up the ante by mixing in one of Hollywood's other famous Snows: Snow White.

The result is an epic mash-up that involved wearing both Snow White's iconic red, blue, and yellow princess gown and red lipstick, as well as Jon Snow's Night's Watch attire. Of course, there was also the pièce de résistance of the costume - a real, Westeros-worthy beard, shaved right down the middle.

[No spoilers] My Halloween costume today: Jon Snow White from r/gameofthrones

Pretty impressive, no? Between Jon Snow White and Lara Jean Croft, our Halloween costume approach will never be the same.

Exes Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Reunite in Costume to Trick-or-Treat With Daughter Everly

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan may have shattered our hearts more than six months ago when they announced their split, but the two still have a very cordial relationship. On Oct. 31, the Step Up stars reconnected to take their daughter, Everly, trick-or-treating and seemed to have a fun time together. Channing was dressed as Genie from Disney's Aladdin while Jenna stunned in a Cleopatra outfit.

Channing posted a series of videos with 5-year-old Everly walking from house to house to collect her sweet prizes. He even shared a hilarious story about making Jenna take Everly into a stranger's home so that Everly could use the bathroom. "Evy had to pee so we had to ask for a house to let us go use their bathroom. I made Jenna go cause I was afraid they wouldn't be receptive to me," he said laughing as he pulled down his blue genie mask.

Channing and Jenna have both moved on since filing for divorce. Recently, news broke that Jenna is now dating actor Steve Kazee and Channing is seeing singer Jessie J. However, they still seem to be supportive of each other finding new love interests.

Although we're admittedly still wiping away our tears after learning of Channing and Jenna's divorce, it's nice to see them happily coparenting. See more photos of their Halloween festivities ahead.

On their last day of the tour, they visited the Redwoods Tree Walk in Rotorua, New Zealand, and peacefully walked together hand-in-hand through a mass of nature. During the walk, Prince Harry showed off his photography skills and snapped a jaw-dropping picture of his beloved wife standing amid the trees and greenery while gently cradling her growing belly.

Kensington Palace posted the photo on Instagram, tacking on a special note from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the caption. "Thank you New Zealand for the most wonderful last week of our tour," the message said. "It has been a privilege to meet so many friendly Kiwis. Australia, Fiji, Tonga and NZ - we leave feeling inspired and reminded of how every single one of us can make a difference."

Throughout the tour, Harry has dropped a few not-so-subtle hints that he's absolutely thrilled to become a father - and that he's sort of hoping it's a girl. He and Meghan have also already received a few adorable gifts for their future bundle of joy. We're just hoping that they print out a copy of this gorgeous photo of Meghan and hang it up in the baby's nursery.

16 Diana and Harry Photos That Prove He Got His Hand-Holding Habit From His Mom

We can almost always count on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to show PDA whenever they step out, and it seems we finally know where Harry's hand-holding habit comes from: Princess Diana. Even though Harry lost his mother at the young age of 12, it's clear that Diana's affectionate side rubbed off on her son. Throughout his childhood, Harry and Diana were frequently seen hugging and being playful with each other, just like Harry is with Meghan now. In fact, remember when Harry reinvented the art of hand-holding during the couple's recent stop in Melbourne, Australia? Well, it turns out, we were wrong. It was actually Diana who taught Harry that move. Like mother, like son.

This Wild AHS: Apocalypse Theory Explains How Michael Could Win, Even If He Loses

Just like the world as we know it, American Horror Story: Apocalypse is coming to an end. With precious little time left until the unpredictable finale, we're doing everything we can to figure out what the end game is. This, of course, means we'll have to reconcile the slightly wonky timeline that starts in 2020 before leaping forward 18 months and then flashing back three years. Given the fact that the first three episodes very much take place in a postapocalyptic world, we're betting all the disparate time chunks will collide in the 10th episode, with the events of the past finally meeting up with the present.

Once we get to this point, your guess is as good as mine. Will the witches reverse the apocalypse, thereby stopping the Antichrist and solving that strange issue where the Hotel Cortez (and the world) is still standing in 2022? Will it turn out that Outpost 3 really is just a big trap for Michael? All signs point to Satan and his son failing to go through with the End of Times. But one theory proves Michael may have an ace up his sleeve, one that will truly give him the last laugh. (Who needs timeline continuity in the AHS universe anyway?)

This theory comes courtesy of Reddit user itsPattio. Basically, it posits that Michael knew the witches would be concocting their own plan to stop him. This means the theory that Outpost 3 is a trap could very well be true . . . and part of Michael's larger scheme. As you might remember, Michael first arrives and interviews potential candidates to take to the "Sanctuary," an impregnable fortress where survivors can truly rebuild in the postapocalyptic world. Only the cream of humanity's crop will be allowed in the Sanctuary.

Our friend itsPattio suggests that this Sanctuary is actually a trap Michael has set. Michael may bank on the fact that the witches will show up and revive those that have been killed. And once Michael is dead, they'll all head for the Sanctuary. It would make sense for Timothy and Emily to become the new "Adam and Eve" in this so-named "Reverse Garden of Eden." After all, they've been set up as Adam-and-Eve-like characters from the very start: a young man and woman, forbidden to have sex and committing the sin anyway. There's even a special emphasis placed on the fact that they need to survive the apocalypse. They have a special role to play.

If we follow the story of Genesis, Emily and Timothy may somehow unleash a new kind of evil unto the world. This part's a bit murky, and we imagine AHS will interpret the story in their own wild way. I know what you're thinking: isn't Michael the Antichrist? There can't be another Antichrist! As luck would have it, though, there are multiple beasts contained in the Bible's Book of Revelation. After the Antichrist comes The Beast of the Sea, then The Beast of the Land. It would be a superbleak ending, but it's possible Michael's role is just to be the purveyor of the true apocalypse. Once he's dead, the nightmare really begins. I don't know about you, but I'm suddenly very worried for Cordelia and the rest of the coven.

The First Look at Five Feet Apart Is Only a Few Seconds Long, but We're Already Crying

It's been four long years since The Fault in Our Stars broke our hearts into teeny-tiny pieces, and now it looks like another medical-tinged romantic drama has arrived to shatter us once more.

In Five Feet Apart, directed by Jane the Virgin's Justin Baldoni, 17-year-old Stella (Split's Haley Lu Richardson) is stuck living in a hospital due to her cystic fibrosis diagnosis. It's a boring existence of routines and boundaries, until she meets Will (Riverdale's Cole Sprouse), a charming teenager who also happens to have CF. Even though there's an instant attraction, the pair have to keep a safe distance between them because of their illnesses, which only makes their Romeo and Juliet-esque romance all the more intense.

The first full trailer doesn't drop until Friday, but in the meantime, Baldoni shared a sweet glimpse of the film via Instagram. "Here we go!" he captioned the brief clip. "The first trailer for #FiveFeetApart drops TOMORROW... I can't wait to share this beautiful story with you all!" Watch it above!

From Man of Steel to Geralt of Rivia: Henry Cavill Transforms For Netflix's The Witcher

The Man of Steel is coming to Netflix!

After leading films like Justice League and this Summer's critically acclaimed Mission Impossible: Fallout, Henry Cavill has signed on to Netflix's upcoming TV adaptation of The Witcher. The series is based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels, which also spawned an insanely popular video game of the same name. Both versions of the story follow Geralt of Rivia, a sorcerer, outcast, and cold-blooded killer who's tasked with ridding the world of monsters. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich - who's produced everything from The Defenders to Parenthood - will serve as showrunner, but the real question is: is Cavill the right fit for Geralt?

Netflix announced Cavill's casting via Twitter a few weeks back, describing The Witcher as "an epic, eight-episode fantasy series based on the best-selling book series." The British star has certainly played his fair share of quiet-but-powerful characters and definitely has no problem growing facial hair for a role, so Geralt's trademark gray beard should be a cinch. Hissrich herself tweeted that Cavill was the first actor she met with and she immediately knew he was right for the part. "He was my first meeting. I didn't have writers or scripts yet - just a greenlight and a lot of passion," she explained. "That was four months ago, and I've never forgotten the passion he brought. He IS Geralt. He always has been. I'm so thrilled to welcome HENRY CAVILL to the #Witcher family."

Cavill celebrated joining the project on Instagram, where he joked about his new Netflix account.

This isn't the first time the 35-year-old has professed his love of Geralt or The Witcher, either. Back in August, he shared a fan-made mock-up of what he'd look like as the character and told IGN that he was loving playing the third game in the series, Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. He also revealed that he was a big fan of the books, noting that they're "well worth a read." Sounds like he might be the perfect fit.

To top things off, Netflix finally shared a look at Cavill in character in October. With a long silver wig that would make Legolas jealous, Cavill struts up to the camera in all of his medieval glory. Do you think he's Witcher material?

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: 8 Things I Need Them to Address in Season 2

Warning: this post contains spoilers for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!

I've decided that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is very much my new favorite thing. After a weekend of binge-watching the dark new Netflix series, I may or may not have joined a coven and gotten baptized in the Church of Night - I'm kidding, I haven't . . . yet. Anyway, as much as I enjoyed the first season, I am now left with a boatload of questions that I'd appreciate having answered for me when the second season rolls around next year. Filming is underway, and I promise I'll be patient while waiting for my 10 episodes - but in the meantime, here are eight things I'll be stewing over until the next witching hour cometh.

No, It's Not Witchcraft - That's Actually Dakota Johnson Dancing in Suspiria

We know that Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson does not take preparing for a new role lightly (just check out the training regimen she underwent for Fifty Shades Freed!), but how exactly did she prepare for a role that requires years of professional training? In her upcoming film Suspiria - a remake of the 1977 supernatural cult classic by the same name - Johnson plays Susie Bannion, an American dancer who transfers to a prestigious dance academy in Germany, only to realize that her new school has a dark history of occultism and is responsible for a series of brutal murders. Assuming there was no witchcraft involved in the creation of this movie, did Johnson actually perform her own dance scenes?

As it turns out, she did! According to Johnson, she performed about 90 percent of the dancing done by her character in the movie. Though not a professional, Johnson has had some dance training (she took tap, jazz, and ballet lessons from ages 5 to 15), so picking up choreography wasn't a totally foreign concept for the actress. For anything Johnson couldn't handle, a professional dancer named Tanya was on set to act as Johnson's body double.

For Johnson, the scariest part of the movie wasn't the supernatural spookiness, but shooting the dance performances. "I trained on and off for about a year before we started filming, but I'm not a professional dancer," she told Entertainment Weekly. "It was terrifying." However, Johnson didn't let the demands of the role intimidate her. While filming Fifty Shades Freed, the starlet worked with a dance trainer before or after the day's shoot to get in practice time. "It was amazing to discover that I could do that with my body, but it was a lot of work, it was a lot of training," she said.

As well as working with a dancer trainer, Johnson prepared for the role with Belgo-French choreographer Damien Jalet, who created all of the pieces for Suspiria. Learning the choreography for the film involved three weeks of eight-hour-a-day intensive training in Italy, as well as additional training in New York while Johnson was on a press tour. From the trailer alone, we have a feeling that all of Johnson's work paid off, which you can now see for yourself since Suspiria hit theaters on Oct. 26.

Mac Miller's Benefit Concert Was a Star-Studded Celebration of Life

On Wednesday night, some of the biggest names in hip-hop came together to honor the legacy of Mac Miller. The rapper, whose real name was Malcolm James McCormick, was found dead from an apparent overdose in his California home on Sept. 7. Just over a month later, artists who worked with and admired the 26-year-old performed a benefit concert in his honor at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in place of the original show Mac was scheduled to perform on the same night before his passing.

The sold-out concert, titled Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life, featured a series of performances from artists like Chance the Rapper, SZA, Travis Scott, John Mayer, and dozens more, with the proceeds going toward the Mac Miller Circles Fund (MMCF). Most of the performers covered some of Mac's most popular songs while other famous friends - like Rick Ross, Jason Sudeikis, and Donald Glover - who couldn't be in attendance paid tribute to the rapper via video. The evening also featured a collection of videos of Mac throughout his childhood. Scroll ahead to see some memorable moments from the night.

11 Sexy Rap Videos From Last Year That Are Still Shockingly Hot

We may be nearing the end of 2018, but it's never too late to pay an ode to some of the best (and sexiest) videos of 2017. If you're feeling nostalgic for some of 2017's biggest hits (or maybe just need a little dose of Nicki Minaj), then find a safe space to watch the rap videos that we deemed to be last year's sweatiest and spiciest. Warning: contents are very, very hot.

The Haim Sisters Dressed as the Sanderson Sisters Will Put a Spell on You

Haim is getting into the Halloween spirit this year with a little help from three other famous sisters. The music-making trio - made up of Alana, Danielle, and Este Haim - dressed up as the Sanderson sisters for the spooky holiday, and their costumes are nothing short of perfect. The trio shared their witchy transformation via Instagram with the caption, "Did we succeed?" In the short clip, the women are seen dancing around to "I Put a Spell on You," with Alana dressed as Kathy Najimy's Mary Sanderson, Danielle sporting a blonde wig as Sarah Jessica Parker's character of the same first name, and Este taking on Bette Midler's Winifred.

As well-done as their group costume came out, it looks like it was a last-minute decision. Earlier this week, the group asked their fans whether they should dress up as cowboys or the Sanderson sisters this year. Not surprisingly, the latter option appears to have won the vote by a landslide - and judging by the outcome, we can't say we're disappointed.

1 Man Made a Real-Life Diagon Alley For His Wife Battling Breast Cancer, and Holy Sh*t, It's So Good

If there's one thing everyone can agree on, it's that Harry Potter fans have a crazily obsessed pretty devoted base. Although I've seen my fair share of cute Harry Potter clothes, costumes, and home decor, nothing prepared me for this walkable replica created by Joel Pace and some of his neighbors in Austin, TX. They started the project when his wife, Amanda, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017.

"She had several surgeries and complications," Joel told POPSUGAR. "When Halloween approached, she mentioned that we probably wouldn't be decorating. That's when I built the blue flying car . . . and then just kept building and experimenting (mostly with cardboard). It rained on Halloween last year and destroyed pretty much everything. We still had a great time, and it was very healing for all of us."

"It rained on Halloween last year and destroyed pretty much everything. We still had a great time, and it was very healing for all of us."

Rather than abandon the project as a one-time thing, Joel and Amanda took it up a notch for the 2018 Halloween season. But this time, they opted for foam instead of cardboard. And yes, it took a long f*cking time to make it.

"I mainly built the train and structures on weekends," Joel said. "The train took the longest - about six weeks - because it's large. And, surprisingly, there are no plans for how to build it. I'm glad I started early!'

As for the rest of the fictional town? It boiled down to a lot of drawing and even more trips to The Home Depot. "I would sit down and sketch out a plan for the building on paper or using my iPad and a drawing app," Joel said. "I'd look at the pictures of Universal or from the London stage and try to make a small interpretation of the building. Then I'd go to Home Depot and literally walk around looking for things I could use to fit the parts I needed."

Believe it or not, as the project grew larger, creating each building got easier. But the hardest part for Joel to figure out? The windows!

"With each structure I completed, it got progressively easier as I got more comfortable building with the foam. So, by the end, I could slap a building together in about six hours, not including paint."

All we can say is wow. Scroll through to get a look at this superimpressive Diagon Alley, and try not to buy a plane ticket to Austin in the process.
