Carl’s Jr.'s Bacon Truffle Burger Is Like Luxury Fast Food - There Are Truffle Fries, Too!

In the mood for an elegant night on the town? Caviar? Champagne? Violin music? Well, Carl's Jr. can't promise you all of that, but the restaurant is shaking up its menu with a pretty fancy ingredient: truffles! While mushrooms are a super versatile ingredient that can be used in everything from ramen to coffee, Carl's Jr.'s Bacon Truffle Angus Burger has taken one of the most extravagant fungi of all (black truffles) and casually infused the flavors into its cheese sauce - and you might actually need a fork and knife to eat it.

"Truffle is traditionally viewed as a rare indulgence, and we're bringing it to the everyday dining experience by infusing the distinct truffle flavor into an entirely new offering for our burger-loving customers," Owen Klein, vice president of culinary innovation, said in a statement. While I've never had a burger with truffle shavings on top, I have to say it does sound pretty intriguing.

Currently available nationwide, the Bacon Truffle Angus Burger ($6) is topped with a creamy white cheddar truffle sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, swiss cheese, crispy onion rings, and mayonnaise. The truffle cheese sauce itself includes natural and artificial truffle flavors, as well as a hint of garlic, toasted onion, and parmesan - pretty gourmet for a fast-food restaurant, if you ask me. Needless to say, this burger packs a lot of flavors into every bite . . . if you can manage to take a bite of everything at once. There are so many toppings!

Carl's Jr. is also rolling out Bacon Truffle Cheese Fries ($3) for a limited time beginning on March 27. Just like the burger counterpart, the fries are topped with rich truffle cheese sauce and crumbly pieces of bacon. So give 'em a try while they're still available and keep reading for more photos of the new cheese-covered creations.

9 Tips For Preparing For (and Acing) That Job Interview

So you've passed the initial application stage and have secured an interview for a role you really want. Congratulations! But the hard part isn't over yet. You still need to ace the interview. And there's a lot to consider when it comes to job interviews, from wondering what questions will be asked to figuring out what to wear. Plus, it's as much about using it as an opportunity to find out if they're a good fit for you, as well as you being a good fit for them.

It's easy to feel nervous or overwhelmed, but an interview doesn't have to be a big, scary obstacle between you and your dream job. If you're prepared, motivated, and confident, you're already several steps closer to success. Here are some simple tips that will help alleviate your nerves, empower you as a professional, and make your interview a triumph.

  1. Do your research. Learn as much as you can about the company you'll be working for, what your role will entail, and who will be interviewing you. You'll feel much more confident after building a strong foundation of knowledge and won't be thrown off if you're questioned on your understanding of the company.
  2. Look back over your application. That's what helped secure you an interview after all. The interviewer might draw questions from or refer back to your application, so refresh your memory and identify ways you could elaborate on what you had initially submitted.
  3. Practice questions and answers. There are a range of ways you might do this: you might want to comb through common questions or you might prefer role-playing the interview process with a trusted friend or family member. Either way, anticipate what you might be asked and have strong answers prepared.
  4. Practice the route. It's not just important to plan what you're going to say at your interview, you need to know how you're going to get there! Whether you're driving, cycling, or traveling by public transport, going on a dummy run will help you plan the logistics of your journey and ensure you won't get lost. On the day itself, you can concentrate only on the task at hand and not worry about the route.
  5. Prepare your outfit. Yes, you want to wear something appropriate, but it's not just about what the clothes look like, it's how they make you feel. Choose an outfit that shows your personality in an appropriate way and makes you feel confident.
  6. Think positively. Practical preparations are important, but you also need to adopt a positive mindset. Meditation, positive playlists, and even visualization exercises can help you envision success. According to a study by The Journal of Consulting Psychology, visualization exercises make a big difference to a candidate's success, as 66 percent of the subjects who adopted these techniques were employed within two months. Choose a method that will aid your positive thinking and turn your hopes of success into a reality.
  7. Check your body language. From a smile to good posture, open body language communicates that you're approachable, confident, and capable of doing the job at hand. Make sure you practice techniques before your interview so that any positive habits you adopt feel natural in your body.
  8. Make healthy lifestyle choices. If you want to perform well at your interview, it's important that you take care of yourself. Eat healthy and nutritious foods and get some rest. That way, on the day of your interview, you'll feel fresh and energized instead of slow and sluggish.
  9. Warm up. On the day of the interview, make sure that you aren't going in cold. Stretch, go for a run, meditate - just channel your nerves physically. Even practice speaking aloud to warm up your voice so that when you greet the interviewer, you'll already sound calm and confident.

Still Haven't Tried SoulCycle? Here's What You Need to Know About the Cult Favorite

Grab some SoulCycle gear because it's time to clip in. If you've somehow managed not to try this Spin workout yet, we've got all the details you need to remedy that immediately. Here's your first tip: this class does wonders for your health and, well, your soul. It's a high-intensity cardio workout that will tone your body from top to bottom while lifting your spirits. Here's all you need to know before adding SoulCycle to your routine, including how much a class will cost you.

What Is SoulCycle?

SoulCycle is the Spin class everyone is always talking about, with its signature yellow bikes and grapefruit-scented studios. No, really - the scent is a thing. The classes themselves are like any other Spin class, in that it's a 45-minute workout that's high on cardio while you sprint through flatlands and climb hills. It's also well-loved by many a celebrity, including Katie Holmes and Lea Michele.

What Is a Typical SoulCycle Class Like?

SoulCycle is less competitive than other Spin classes. You're riding for the workout, not to beat the other riders in the class or even yourself. In fact, SoulCycle encourages the class to ride as one team to accomplish a goal together. It doesn't focus on the numbers as much as the journey. You're in a dim (and well-scented!) room surrounded by your fellow riders. The pounding music narrates the warmup, the sprints and climbs, an arm workout, and a cooldown and stretching session. SoulCycle throws a little more choreography and coordination into your workout, though, unlike some other Spin classes you might have tried. You'll do push-ups on your bike handlebars and tap it back to the beat of your soundtrack.

How Much Do SoulCycle Classes Cost?

Prices vary by region, but there's one thing you'll find everywhere: a deal on your first class, with some cities offering a deeper discount than others. In New York, your first class is $25. One regular class will cost you $36 or you can buy a variety of class packs, including a 10-pack for $340. In Los Angeles and Florida, your first class is just $20. A single class is $30 and a 10-pack is $265. In Chicago, your first class is $20, one class is $32, and a 10-pack is $280. You can find all the price breakdowns on the SoulCycle website.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

SoulCycle is one of those workouts that once you start going, you kinda can't stop, so be prepared for that! There are also studios all over the US and Canada so you can find your Soul no matter where you might be.

Channing Tatum Goes Shirtless in Mexico After Professing His Love For Jessie J

Channing Tatum has been busy working on his Magic Mike musical, but he recently took some time off to enjoy a little fun in the sun in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. On Saturday, the 38-year-old actor ditched his shirt and was spotted soaking up the rays poolside. Although, judging by his sunburn, it looks like he got a little too much sun. It's reported that Adam Levine joined Channing, though it's unclear if Channing's girlfriend, Jessie J, was there, too. However, Channing did share a black and white photo of the ocean on Instagram on Sunday, writing, "Man this last week was magic." Hmm . . . we wonder what Channing was referring to?

Channing has been romancing Jessie since last Fall, and things seem to be getting pretty serious. In honor of her 31st birthday on March 27, Channing professed his love for the singer on Instagram. "You came into this world on this day and lit it on fire," he wrote. "You have blessed our eyes, our ears, our hearts, and our lives. So thank you for just being you. You are so very special. Happy birthday Baby." Maybe his magical week has something to do with Jessie?

I Had a Miscarriage, and Pregnancy Announcements on Social Media Are Brutal

When I found out I was pregnant with my 5-year-old daughter, one of the first things I did was share our exciting news on Facebook, along with a photo of me pointing to my belly. It never occurred to me that anyone who saw my post would feel anything other than excitement for us. Until, after years of trying to get pregnant again, I lost the baby late in my second trimester. Soon after the loss, I remember seeing pregnancy announcements on social media, and literally feeling sick. All I could think was, "Why do they get to be happy, and I don't?" I know that might sound unfair, but I was grieving. If I could go back in time and not post my own pregnancy announcement online, I would. Because now I understand how tough it can be for people struggling to have a baby.

I also understand how, when you are excited about being pregnant, you want to shout it from the rooftops, and a Facebook post is the modern-day equivalent of doing just that. It's not that I begrudge anyone the right to announce their pregnancy on social media, especially since I did it myself. Everyone deserves to celebrate happy news, and share it with anyone (or everyone) of their choosing. I wish I could be happy with you, but for me, seeing that post after losing my baby felt like being sucker punched - it's brutal.

Related: Why I Didn't Announce My Pregnancy on Social Media

After my miscarriage, lots of things sent me into a spiral: TV shows, advertisements, happy new moms on the street. The hardest part was that I couldn't control what I came in contact with when I started scrolling online. I could be mindlessly clicking through funny memes and food pics when all of the sudden, I come across a pregnancy announcement shared by someone I don't even know that well. Depending on my mood, seeing this can be extremely triggering. I might cry for hours, spiraling into a deep feeling of hopelessness. Obviously, I can't prevent anyone from posting an announcement on social media, and I wouldn't want to control what people post. Instead, these days, I tend to avoid Facebook and Instagram as much as possible, as an act of self-protection.

Another thing that I've found incredibly tough after struggling with infertility and loss: it's hard to relate to people who feel confident enough to share pregnancy news online. After the very traumatic loss I suffered, I went through an emotionally and physically grueling IVF cycle to conceive. When I found out I was pregnant, I feared telling a soul other than my husband. What if I jinxed it? What if something happened, and then I'd have to tell all those people we lost the baby again? I'll look at a social media pregnancy announcement, and just start feeling alone with what I've been through. How can they be so carefree? Why is their story all roses and balloons, while mine is fraught with ups and downs, and fear and pain and sadness?

Related: IVF Was the Hardest Thing I've Ever Done, and I Want to Do It Again

Because let's face it: often what we put out on social creates an illusion that our life is perfect. But after struggling to conceive, I know that's the furthest thing from my reality. I can't even imagine what a pregnancy announcement would look like for me at this point. My face would be streaked with tears. I'd be staring off into the distance, blankly, probably thinking about the loss and pain my husband and I had been through to get here. I'd be covering my belly with my hands, afraid something could happen to this baby, and that it would all go away. I'd be surrounded, not by balloons, but by negative pregnancy tests, and used IVF needles. The caption would say something like, "I'm scared sh*tless. And totally beat up from all the 'nos,' and 'I'm sorrys.' I want to be excited, so hopefully that will come later. For now, just know that if you are struggling with infertility, you aren't alone." Now that's a pregnancy announcement I'd like to see on social media.

If Mushy Brownies Are Your Worst Nightmare, You Need This All-Edges Baking Pan

It's a divisive question that's pitted dessert-lovers against one another for centuries: do you prefer crispy brownie edges or those gooey middle pieces? If you're a diehard advocate of the former, then boy oh boy, do we have a nifty treat for you: a brand called Baker's Edge created a genius baking pan that makes every brownie an edge brownie. Designed with three interior sidewalls rather than just a square or rectangular shape, the bakeware guarantees every serving has at least two crunchy, chewy edges.

Technically speaking, Baker's Edge has been around since 2006, but our eyes have just recently been opened to its existence, thanks to a heated Twitter conversation sparked by Chelsea Peretti. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress took to social media to declare her anti-mushy-brownie feelings, thus prompting one of her followers to inform her about the all-edges baking pan. What can I say? The internet can be a lovely place sometimes.

Shop the glorious piece of bakeware below, and get ready to welcome perfectly crisped brownies with open arms (and stomachs).

Dunkin' Donuts' Flavored Signature Lattes Are Here, and They Sound Damn Delicious

Just days after releasing its all-new Peeps-flavored doughnuts and coffee drinks, Dunkin' Donuts is adding yet another sweet upgrade to its menu. On April 2, the fast food chain introduced its new Signature Lattes in three exciting flavors: Blueberry Crisp, Caramel Craze, and Cocoa Mocha.

According to a release from the brand, all three Signature Lattes are on sale now at participating locations nationwide. And if you're wondering how a Signature Latte differs from a classic latte - which is usually made with steamed milk and espresso - Dunkin' claims that these drinks take ordinary lattes to the next level with their unique flavors and toppings and "artful" presentations.

The lattes are now available to purchase hot or iced. See descriptions of each flavor ahead.

  • Dunkin' Donuts Signature Lattes
  • Blueberry Crisp Latte: A blueberry- and caramel-flavored drink topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and cinnamon sugar.
  • Caramel Craze Latte: A caramel-flavored drink topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and cinnamon sugar.
  • Cocoa Mocha Latte: A mocha-flavored drink topped with whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and hot chocolate powder.

This Hack Will Change the Way You Dry Dishes, and We're Mad We Didn't Think of It Ourselves

How many times have you thought to yourself while placing your just-washed dishes on the drying rack, "Wow, I wish I had more counter space"? Or maybe you're someone, like me, whose clean dishes never fully make it from the rack to the cabinet. Your perpetually "drying" tableware instead becomes a permanent fixture on the kitchen counter until they're picked up and used again.

Thankfully, there's a brilliant Finnish life hack to drying your dishes, cups, and utensils that can majorly cut down on time and energy and help remedy all of the above. Maybe the best part? It can easily create more space in your home (why are apartment kitchens so notoriously tiny?) without making any major changes.

Related: 20 Brilliant Organizational Hacks For Every Room

The cleaning gadget is called astiankuivauskaappi, which roughly translates from Finnish to "dish drying cabinet" in English, and it cleverly utilizes an over-the-sink storage cabinet that has a drying rack built in. The simple trick? The bottom of the cabinet is open, so you can skip a step and put the wet dishes right into the cabinet and let it drip-dry into the sink or onto the counter. Just be sure to leave the cabinet doors open until the items are fully dry so it doesn't become an ideal place for mold to start growing.

Interested in giving this helpful cleaning hack a go? While this way of getting dishes done hasn't become hugely popular in the United States just yet, you can still pick up some simple Amazon products to help re-create your own dish-drying cabinet alternative at home. For instance, this iPegtop Over-the-Sink Drying Rack ($21) is great for small spaces, and this Probrico Dish-Drying Rack ($45) can easily be installed in your kitchen cabinets.

Trader Joe's $4 Grapefruit Candle Is Back to Make Your Home Smell Like Citrus Heaven

There aren't too many things I love more than a scented candle, which is why I have a bone to pick with everyone who never let me know that there's a grapefruit-scented candle available at Trader Joe's. The candles were introduced in 2018 and are part of the grocery store's small selection of scented candles, which includes the Honeycrisp Apple candle that was sold last Fall.

According to a product description, each delicious-smelling candle is hand-poured into a tiny, convenient tin, and made from a coconut-soy wax blend with an added grapefruit scent. The candles are also paraben-free and made with lead-free cotton wicks that can burn consistently for up to 55 hours - just think of all the bubble baths you could take in that amount of time!

Trader Joe's grapefruit candles were available for a limited time last year, but according to a few recent posts on social media, they're available again in certain locations for just $4. Read ahead to see a few photos from users who've spotted them, and head to a Trader Joe's near you to grab one.

Traveling Abroad? Here Are the 9 Mistakes You're Most Likely to Make

Whether you're a traveling novice or a total seasoned pro, we all make mistakes on the road. Chalk them up to learning experiences, yes, but that's not very consoling in the moment, when you're lost in an unfamiliar city without cash or WiFi. And for me, it doesn't matter how many trips I take, I learn something new every single time. So to save you a potential headache on your next great adventure, I'm sharing a list of all the times I screamed "Rookie mistake!" while traveling abroad.

I Got Fired, and It Was Actually a Huge Blessing in Disguise

I never thought that I would hear the words, "You're fired" . . . though technically I didn't. Instead I heard: "We won't be renewing your contract for the next year." And that was how, at 22, nine weeks after my father had passed away and two days before Christmas, I was left fired and unemployed.

I tried to focus on what my boss was saying, but of course I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible before the tears rolled down my face. I felt like a failure. I had always done well in school. I had excelled at my previous jobs. And yet I apparently sucked so badly at my first professional job that I got fired.

But my career didn't end there that day. In fact, since that day, my career has only continued to improve, and I now know that getting fired was one of the best things that ever happened to me. And here's why.

It made me honest about myself and my situation

I wasn't the best employee. Sure, I turned up before nine each morning and left way after five, but I didn't want to be there, and that was obvious.

I hated every minute of work and was actively looking for alternate employment but never left. Why? Because I thought a slight gap in my employment history was worse than my own enjoyment and mental health.

In fact, when I told one of my friends what had happened, she was happy for me. Her exact words were, "Great! Now you can focus on finding something that will make you happy." The entire time I had worked at my old company, I had hated it. I was just in such denial about it because I didn't want that résumé gap.

It taught me what I really wanted in a job

Looking back at what happened, it was obvious that my previous employer wasn't the right fit for me.

I was micromanaged by a man who didn't understand my role, which left me stressed and caused me to make more mistakes. And the difficult coworkers who never introduced themselves left me feeling alone and isolated without any help or guidance. I never even knew where the mugs were kept . . .

So in my job search, I ended up being extra picky. I didn't just take the first job I was offered, like before; I asked questions about the company's culture and issues that were important to me. I waited for the right job to come along that fit me perfectly.

It got me out of one of the most toxic situations of my life

While I had been trying to leave my former company for months, I never did due to the worry of a résumé gap.

The stress of work, traveling three hours a day, and never having time for my friends had left me a tense and angry person. And yet I never left.

While being told I was fired was awful, it got me instantly out of that situation. I could finally have a proper night's sleep and enjoy Christmas with my friends and family without the worry of work looming over me.

It taught me that being professionally employed isn't the most important thing in the world

I'd gone straight from school to college to working without a single break, and throughout my entire time in college, I was repeatedly told about the importance of acquiring a professional role as soon as possible.

And yet here I was: fired from my very first one.

I cried about it a lot - I thought I had wasted my entire time in college for not being able to keep my job. But being professionally employed isn't the most important thing. Sure, it puts money in the bank, which can help with your rent and bills, but there are other ways to make money. I worked on my then very new Etsy store, and while before I hadn't focused on it much at all, I suddenly had tons of frantic energy to put into it.

While I was lucky and found a new job very quickly, I have no doubt that with hard work, I could have grown my Etsy business into something that could have helped support me. Getting fired isn't the best situation, but it definitely isn't the end of the world (or your career). I managed to find a great new job that fit around my needs and wants perfectly while letting me grow and develop professionally and personally, and I have continued to grow in my career since.

So, even if right now getting fired and being unemployed feel awful, you can get through it. In fact, it might even be the best thing to happen to you, too.
