9 Tips For Preparing For (and Acing) That Job Interview
So you've passed the initial application stage and have secured an interview for a role you really want. Congratulations! But the hard part isn't over yet. You still need to ace the interview. And there's a lot to consider when it comes to job interviews, from wondering what questions will be asked to figuring out what to wear. Plus, it's as much about using it as an opportunity to find out if they're a good fit for you, as well as you being a good fit for them.
It's easy to feel nervous or overwhelmed, but an interview doesn't have to be a big, scary obstacle between you and your dream job. If you're prepared, motivated, and confident, you're already several steps closer to success. Here are some simple tips that will help alleviate your nerves, empower you as a professional, and make your interview a triumph.
- Do your research. Learn as much as you can about the company you'll be working for, what your role will entail, and who will be interviewing you. You'll feel much more confident after building a strong foundation of knowledge and won't be thrown off if you're questioned on your understanding of the company.
- Look back over your application. That's what helped secure you an interview after all. The interviewer might draw questions from or refer back to your application, so refresh your memory and identify ways you could elaborate on what you had initially submitted.
- Practice questions and answers. There are a range of ways you might do this: you might want to comb through common questions or you might prefer role-playing the interview process with a trusted friend or family member. Either way, anticipate what you might be asked and have strong answers prepared.
- Practice the route. It's not just important to plan what you're going to say at your interview, you need to know how you're going to get there! Whether you're driving, cycling, or traveling by public transport, going on a dummy run will help you plan the logistics of your journey and ensure you won't get lost. On the day itself, you can concentrate only on the task at hand and not worry about the route.
- Prepare your outfit. Yes, you want to wear something appropriate, but it's not just about what the clothes look like, it's how they make you feel. Choose an outfit that shows your personality in an appropriate way and makes you feel confident.
- Think positively. Practical preparations are important, but you also need to adopt a positive mindset. Meditation, positive playlists, and even visualization exercises can help you envision success. According to a study by The Journal of Consulting Psychology, visualization exercises make a big difference to a candidate's success, as 66 percent of the subjects who adopted these techniques were employed within two months. Choose a method that will aid your positive thinking and turn your hopes of success into a reality.
- Check your body language. From a smile to good posture, open body language communicates that you're approachable, confident, and capable of doing the job at hand. Make sure you practice techniques before your interview so that any positive habits you adopt feel natural in your body.
- Make healthy lifestyle choices. If you want to perform well at your interview, it's important that you take care of yourself. Eat healthy and nutritious foods and get some rest. That way, on the day of your interview, you'll feel fresh and energized instead of slow and sluggish.
- Warm up. On the day of the interview, make sure that you aren't going in cold. Stretch, go for a run, meditate - just channel your nerves physically. Even practice speaking aloud to warm up your voice so that when you greet the interviewer, you'll already sound calm and confident.

Charlize Theron's Bold Baby Bangs Are Fake, but We Kinda Sorta Wish They Were Real
Charlize Theron is showing off some bold-as-hell bangs. The 43-year-old actress stepped out for the Longshot premiere on April 30 with some fake fringe to complement her bold brunette bob, courtesy of her stylist Adir Abergel.
"I love that she is a risk-taker and explores different styles. For the premiere, we wanted to push it just a little bit further, and I decided to give her some faux bangs," Abergel said. "My inspiration for tonight's look is an image of Linda Evangelista from the '90s. Linda was always bold with her looks, and so is Charlize."
Abergel achieved Theron's look by first prepping her hair with the Virtue Restorative Treatment Mask ($28) and then blow-drying it straight. He applied Virtue Un-Frizz Cream ($40) and Virtue Volumizing Primer ($36) from the roots to midshaft of her hair, and followed the products up with a rough dry and flat-iron. Next, Abergel styled the hair into a tight, low ponytail with faux bangs clipped on top. He finished it off by using the Un-Frizz Cream on the bold baby bangs.
Keep reading to see more snaps of Theron's red carpet look. We won't be surprised if this style pops up in our salons over the Summer.
Noah Centineo Will Play He-Man in the Reboot: "I Have an Affinity For Being in My Underwear"
Everyone's favorite internet boyfriend will be transforming from a boy we've loved before to the legendary He-Man.
Back in March, it was reported that Noah Centineo was in talks to star in Sony Pictures and Mattel Films's reboot of the 1987 film Masters of the Universe. On April 29, Centineo confirmed his new role when he stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. When Fallon asked about his upcoming projects and whether or not the rumors were true, the 22-year-old actor happily affirmed that he's set to play He-Man in the hotly anticipated reboot and joked about his affinity for being in his underwear. "I'm very excited!" he added. "It's quite an opportunity."
The original Dolph Lundgren and Courteney Cox-led film stemmed from Mattel's toy line, which also spawned the classic '80s animated TV series that aired from 1983 to 1985. For those who aren't as well-versed in the land of Eternia (honestly, what have you been doing with your life?), the franchise follows Prince Adam, the protector of Eternia who transforms into the mighty warrior He-Man with the help of his magical sword. For some reason, the transformation involves shedding his clothes for a harness and speedo, but it was the '80s so we'll let it slide. He-Man's main nemesis, Skeletor, is well-known for becoming the face of various memes, which is probably the only time he's succeeded at anything.
According to Variety, Sony was eager to find another gig for Centineo after working with him on the upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot. The actor is currently working on the sequel for Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before and stars in the streaming giant's most recent rom-com The Percet Date.
Now, all we need to know is, will he rock He-Man's iconic blonde 'do?
Somehow, Emilia Clarke Found a Way to Make Us Laugh in Her Tribute to Her Game of Thrones Costar
Warning: The following post contains spoilers about the Battle of Winterfell on Game of Thrones. Proceed with caution!
Of all the Game of Thrones characters, Jorah Mormont has certainly had a time. He was disowned by his family and banished twice (once from Westeros and again, years later, by Daenerys after she finds out he was originally sent to spy on her for Robert Baratheon). He nearly dies sailing through Old Valyria with Tyrion, narrowly avoids death in the fighting pits of Mereen, and nearly dies again after contracting greyscale from him and Tyrion's little joy ride (and the treatment he receives from Samwell Tarly doesn't exactly look like a walk in the park either). Then there's the whole unrequited love situation that has tortured him since the first season.
Ser Jorah's struggles finally came to an end, however, in the episode "The Long Night," during the much-anticipated Battle of Winterfell. And it's no surprise that he died protecting Daenerys (remember, he believed he was put on Earth to defend her). Suffering stab wound after stab wound from a ferocious gang of wights, Ser Jorah dies in Dany's arm seconds after Arya Stark stabs the Night King, shattering him and his army into slivers of ice. In an already anxiety-inducing and heart-wrenching episode, this scene is particularly intense and emotional as the two characters try and process their complicated feelings of love and loyalty.
"There had never been a moment where she more needed someone to fight to protect her than this moment," series creator D.B. Weiss said of the scene in an Inside the Episode clip. "If he could have chosen a way to die, this is how he would've chosen to die."
In real life, it appears the actors have an equally as deep friendship - a bond that started from the very beginning. "The first day on set I fell off my horse and cried," Clarke told PEOPLE in a recent interview. "I have the most visceral memory of the first day, it is Iain Glen calming the horse, calming me, and I was like: 'That is my friend for life.'"
A day after Glen's final episode, Clarke took to her Instagram account to say goodbye to the person who she's probably spent the most time with throughout the eight seasons of Game of Thrones. And while their final scene together is sad and heartbreaking, Clarke's tribute is full of her goofy sense of humor and includes lyrics from the Tina Turner song "The Best" to help her find the right words. "YOURE SIMPLY THE BEST, BETTER THAN ALL THE REST, BETTER THAN ANYONE, ANYONE IVE EVER MET......" Clarke writes in the caption, adding the hilarious hashtags #serjorahforlyfe #thronesthrowsapunchandahalf #heartbreakhotel #bestthingiveeverseenonscreenEVER.
It appears that the last season Game of Thrones is not only giving us fans all the feels but the stars as well. After each episode, we're seeing more and more of the GOT cast members heading to their Instagram accounts to say goodbye to their friends, take us behind the scenes of a scene, or, in Sophie Turner's case, troll her fellow cast members. And with Cersei Lannister looming maliciously back in King's Landing, there are sure to be lots more goodbyes and trolling to appear on our IG feeds.
Kylie Jenner Celebrated Travis Scott With a Giant Billboard and Cheeky Instagram Tribute
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are going strong! The rapper turned 28 on Tuesday, and Kylie marked the occasion with a really sweet Instagram post featuring snaps of their adorable 1-year-old daughter, Stormi. "Watching you evolve into the partner, friend, son, and father you are today has been so fulfilling ♥️ my real life bestie & hubby all wrapped into one," Kylie captioned the series of photos. "I love you and I'm so so proud of you. happy happy birthday."
Kylie also rented out a huge billboard in West Hollywood with photos of Stormi that reads, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY LOVE MOMMY & STORMI XO," because that's what you do when your net worth is $1 billion.
The last sentence of Kylie's post is the real kicker: "Let's f*ck around and have another baby." Oh, OK! Travis clearly supports this message because he commented, "I love u mama/Wifey. We shall rage 4ever." Obviously the couple is just teasing us, but we will be zero percent shocked the next time Kardashian-Jenner baby news is revealed. Good luck to Kendall, who's desperately trying not to "breathe the pregnancy air." See Kylie's full post - and that unforgettable billboard! - ahead.
This Moisture-Wicking Weighted Blanket Is the Only Thing Allowed to Touch Us This Summer
If you've never experienced the bliss that is a night spent beneath a weighted blanket, we can assure you that it's a bona fide game changer. Sure, they can be a little pricey, but they're incredible for relieving anxiety and will give you a night's sleep that you didn't even think your body was capable of having. Being swathed in a soft, weighted hug is a dream in the Winter, but what about in the Summer, when we'd rather be sunburned than snuggled? That's where the Hush Iced Weighted Blanket ($149, originally $199) comes in to play.
Hush isn't new to the world of weighted blankets - in fact, its microfiber Hush Blanket (engineered to be 10 percent of your body weight) is already known to be one of the best weighted blankets out there. Using the same short threading and weight-distribution technology as the original Hush Blanket, the Hush Iced offers soothing pressure, but with a thinner, cool-to-the-touch cover. Not only will it keep you chilled and comfy, but the bamboo-and-cotton blend also works to wick away sweat during the sticky Summer months. Hi, where have you been all of our lives?
The Hush Iced blanket comes in three different weights (15, 20, or 25 pounds), two different sizes (standard or queen), and a pretty Heather Grey color that will coordinate perfectly with any bedroom. Though the blanket retails at $199 for a twin size and $219 for a queen, you can order now for a special price of just $149, with expected delivery in July. Winter may be all about cuddling, but when it comes to the Summer months, spooning is out and this blanket is in.
14 Famous Women Who Have (Supposedly) Dated Chris Evans
Unlike his squeaky-clean alter-ego Captain America, Chris Evans isn't afraid to have a little fun. Knowing that, it should come as no surprise that the self-proclaimed "ass man" has been romantically linked to quite a few of Hollywood's brightest stars. Whether the relationships were legit (ex: Jessica Biel) or only whispered about (ex: Kate Bosworth?!), take a look at every lady rumored to have made an appearance in Chris's little black book below.
Khloé Kardashian's Swimsuit Defines Her Curves Like They've Never Been Defined Before
Khloé Kardashian wore this Louis Vuitton x Supreme swimsuit in Bali back in October, so if you do the math, that's just four months after she gave birth to baby True. Wait, what!? How is that possible? The stunning TV star looked downright incredible posing on the beach in the high-leg maillot, which hugged and flattered her famous curves. Khloé shared the beach shot to psych up her followers for a Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode that documented the family's trip.
We know what you're thinking, and we checked, but Khloé's exact design is no longer available. It's more like memorabilia from an iconic collaboration, though you can find inspired remakes if you're really committed to replicating the look. For us though, it's the confidence Khloé's showing off that sticks with us.
Plus, while logo swimsuits are popular right now, silhouettes that have a modest cut, but structured, tight-fitting fabric are forever classic and sexy. In fact, we found plenty of sophisticated one-pieces like Khloés that may not say "Louis Vuitton" but definitely say "look my way," while also acknowledging one of your favorite brands. Go on, pick out the one you can imagine posted up on your Instagram feed.
Over 3,100 Parents Agree This Is the Very Best Sun Hat For Your Kids - It Stays On!
When it comes to sun protection and kids, I value hats, but my 14-month-old is some sort of magician, because she's able to untie and unVelcro even the tightest of fastens. After searching high and low on Amazon for the bestselling option, I think I've found one she won't be able to get out of. The i play Flap Sun Protection Hat ($13) has an adjustable toggle so you can get a nice, custom-like fit, which means the hat will stay on. It comes in nine shades and goes all the way up to 4T. Here's why customers rave about it.
"The great thing about this hat is that it is entirely adjustable sizewise so it will really last! There is a pull tab type thing in the back that you can make it tighter or looser in their head as they grow and always get the right fit. The back flap protects their neck and back from the sun. Which are common sunburn areas. The front flap (bill of the hat) does not get in their eyes like a lot of baby hats so baby can actually see!"
"My one year old decided, just as the warm weather started, that she doesn't like to wear hats. She also hates sunglasses, but this stubborn mother was not going to let her baby roam around without eye/head protection! We bought this without having high hopes since she pulled the velcro off other hats also--we've had a chance to try it twice and are pleased to report success!"
The Obamas Are Producing Film and TV Projects With Netflix - Check Out the Full Slate!
If you thought the Obamas would be taking a break anytime soon, you haven't been paying attention! The former first lady has been booked and busy since her White House exit, and her husband is joining in on the fun. In March 2018, it was announced that the former US president and Michelle were in talks to produce a collection of series exclusively for Netflix, and in May of that same year, the two finalized a multiyear agreement to produce a diverse mix of content under their Higher Ground Productions banner. Now, almost a year later, we're finally learning about the seven projects, currently in various stages of development.
"We created Higher Ground to harness the power of storytelling. That's why we couldn't be more excited about these projects," Barack said in a statement released by the streaming giant. "Touching on issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights, and much more, we believe each of these productions won't just entertain, but will educate, connect, and inspire us all."
"We love this slate because it spans so many different interests and experiences, yet it's all woven together with stories that are relevant to our daily lives," Michelle added. "We think there's something here for everyone - moms and dads, curious kids, and anyone simply looking for an engaging, uplifting watch at the end of a busy day. We can't wait to see these projects come to life - and the conversations they'll generate."
The seven projects are a range of fiction and nonfiction productions that include scripted, unscripted, and documentary series. There are also full-length features and documentaries set to be released over the next several years. Check out the projects ahead!
American Factory
This is a documentary that takes a deep dive into a postindustrial Ohio, where a Chinese billionaire opens a new factory in the husk of an abandoned General Motors plant and hires 2,000 blue-collar Americans. Early days of hope and optimism give way to setbacks as high-tech China clashes with working-class America. American Factory debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the directing award: US documentary and was acquired by Netflix and Higher Ground Productions. From Participant Media, the film is directed by Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert (The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant, A Lion in the House, Seeing Red). Bognar, Reichert, Jeff Reichert, and Julie Parker Benello all serve as producers of the film.
Bloom
The series is described as an upstairs/downstairs drama set in the world of fashion in post-WWII New York City that depicts barriers faced by women and people of color in an era marked by hurdles but also tremendous progress. Bloom is written and executive produced by Academy Award winner Callie Khouri (Nashville, Thelma and Louise, the upcoming Aretha Franklin movie at MGM) from an idea developed by Khouri, writer-director Clement Virgo (The Book of Negroes, The Wire, Empire), and novelist and producer Juliana Maio (City of the Sun). Higher Ground Productions, Khouri, Virgo, and Maio will executive produce the series.
Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom
This is a feature film adaptation of author David W. Blight's Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom - for which he won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in History - that The New York Times called "an ambitious and empathetic biography of a major American life."
Overlooked
This scripted anthology series is adapted from The New York Times' ongoing obituary column of the same name. The series will tell the stories of remarkable people whose deaths were not reported by the newspaper, with producers Liza Chasin of 3dot Productions and Joy Gorman Wettels of Anonymous Content.
Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents
This is a half-hour preschool series from creators Jeremy Konner (Drunk History) and Erika Thormahlen. The show will take young children and their families around the globe on an adventure that tells us the story of our food.
Fifth Risk
From Michael Lewis, the bestselling author of The Big Short and Moneyball, and based on his book The Fifth Risk: Undoing Democracy, the nonfiction series will aim to show the importance of unheralded work done by everyday heroes guiding our government and safeguarding our nation.
Crip Camp
The feature-length documentary film is supported by the Sundance Institute and was acquired earlier this year by Higher Ground and Netflix. Just down the road from Woodstock, in the early 1970s, a parallel revolution blossomed in a ramshackle Summer camp for disabled teenagers that would transform young lives, and America, forever by helping to set in motion the disability rights movement. The film is directed by former camper Jim LeBrecht and Nicole Newnham. Producers include Newnham, LeBrecht, and Sara Bolder, with executive producer Howard Gertler.

Game of Thrones: Don't Worry, the Night King and Arya Are "Very Good Friends" IRL
Warning: Major Game of Thrones spoilers ahead.
The night might be dark and full of terrors, but it turns out the Night King is actually full of love for the Seven Kingdoms IRL. The icy leader of the White Walkers never utters a word on Game of Thrones, but luckily, stuntman Vladimir Furdik has plenty to say about his character. He recently opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about the Night King's shocking death and his own relationship with Maisie Williams, following the Battle of Winterfell.
Fans have their own, ahem, intense feelings about Arya's surprise attack on the king, but Furdik remembers filming the scene on "a very emotional day and night." He and Williams played out the sequence "maybe 15 times" in the cold and rain while she jumped at him from a harness on a wire.
"When I have to hold her under the jaw and it looks like she dies, we had to spend a lot of energy on that particular scene. It was very, very difficult," Furdik recalled. "We are very good friends. We know each other. It wasn't easy for me to [pretend to] hurt her." Their friendship is evident in a photo Furdik shared, which shows him and Williams post-fight scene. The caption reads, "She killed me with a smile."
Despite all the stress and pressure of becoming the Night King, there are still things Furdik misses about the show. "I will miss the people who helped me to be the Night King," he said. "This was the costume and makeup departments who helped me to be the man who was out in front of the camera. You might not know it, but it's maybe 25 or 30 people who helped me be that man, with the prosthetics, the makeup, the camera department, the lightning. I miss these people."
My Mom Taught Me: No Matter How Old Your Kids Get, You'll Never Stop Being a Mother
The other day I was having a career identity crisis. Fun times, let me tell you. My stomach felt like there was a swirling tornado in it. I decided to chat with some friends and my husband about it, but I was still feeling kind of teenage angsty inside. So, I did what all smart women do - I called my mom. And she immediately helped me feel better.
"Angela," she said, "Follow your gut. It's taken you this far already."
"I know, Mom," I said. "It's just that I know I won't make a ton of money."
"You've never cared about that. Do what your heart is telling you," she urged.
With those words, my stress practically evaporated. Mothers have a knack for doing that, even when their children are approaching 40. My mom has always been my go-to person. As mothers often do, she just gets me and has a special way of not only helping me with major life decisions, but also providing comfort. A few months ago, my small daughter and I were in a major car accident. Physically, we were fine. But I suffered some short-term trauma. I had trouble falling asleep, and when I did, nightmares woke me. After everyone left from the accident scene and I talked with the police officers, I sat in the driver's seat and dialed my mother first. Even before my husband.
As soon as she picked up the phone, tears slipped down my cheeks. Panic took over me and my hands trembled gripping the steering wheel. I didn't want to drive again. Instead, I wanted to just be with my mom. Yes, at age 38, I just wanted her to cradle me, to tell me that everything was going to be okay. But with my daughter in the backseat, and knowing I had to pick my son up from school, I knew I had to drive again. My mother encouraged me, as mothers do.
"You can do this," she said. "Take deep breaths and just look straight ahead."
With her reassurance, I did it. I remembered that I was now the mother who had to be there for my children. If I seemed anxious and worried from the accident, my children would feel that. And I want to provide a sense of calm, just like my own mother still provides me.
To our children, as their mothers, we're not only wise, but we're their number one person.
It's a reminder to me that you never stop being a mother - even if you're 70, like my own mom. Yes, right now, I'm in the thick of it (and you probably are, too). Whether your children are in the baby phase, teenage phase, or somewhere in between, we're still busy raising them. Days are hard. And months fly by. Each phase provides immense joy and immense heartbreak in the same breath. But know that you're doing it right, no matter how you choose to mother. Sure, the day will come when our children will be off on their own. They'll leave for college or a new job and apartment. We'll think our job is done, but just because our nests are empty, that doesn't mean that we'll feel empty - because we raised our kids with love.
We gave our kids the most love that we possibly could. We guided them through all of their trials. We survived the teenage years with grace. Our tenacious devotion got our kids through all of it. And you know what? They'll keep calling us, just when we think they have all of the answers. Our children will call on us with the big and little things in life - like for our spaghetti sauce recipes or romantic advice. To our children, as their mothers, we're not only wise, but we're their number one person. The person who brings them the greatest peace of all. Even when they're all grown up.

The Game of Thrones Cast Answers Fans' Most Ridiculous Questions on Jimmy Kimmel
Between the pitch-black battle scenes, Bran's inexplicable disappearance, and the straight-up WTF moments during Game of Thrones' Battle of Winterfell, fans have a lot of questions. Thanks to Jimmy Kimmel's fictional hotline, "Game of Phones," we're getting some answers - well, sort of. During Monday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, our favorite (and least favorite) GOT cast members answer fans' burning questions, such as, "What does Kit Harington smell like?" (which goes to actor Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos).
Isaac Hempstead Wright uses Bran's Three-Eyed Raven powers to help someone find their missing keys, and it's all fun and games until someone has the nerve to doubt Arya's killer capabilities. "You expect me to believe a 90-pound girl can defeat an army of White Walkers?" the caller asks Maisie Williams before she flips out and adds him to her kill list. You're going to regret that, Todd. Watch the hilarious clip above, and since you'll probably still have questions, check out a full breakdown of episode three.
After Over a Decade in the MCU, Tony Stark's Story Valiantly Wraps Up in Avengers: Endgame
Warning: SO MANY spoilers ahead, you guys! Tons! Proceed with caution.
My first introduction to superheros was through Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker in 2002's Spider-Man. I couldn't get enough. Fun and funny and full of heart, Peter is the hopeful, idealized embodiment of what a young superhero should be: wide-eyed and giddy about his new powers. Those traits are also what makes Tom Holland's updated take on Marvel's iteration of the web-slinging hero such a fantastic foil for the prickly, cynical, sarcastic Tony Stark. No offense to Peter, but it wasn't until seeing the "genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist" played by Robert Downey Jr. in 2008's Iron Man that I truly fell in love with superhero films and superheroes in general.
The electricity and biting humor Downey Jr. brings to the role carved out an exciting new niche for both his career and the future of Marvel's blossoming cinematic universe. It's no wonder that he soon became a fan-favorite, thanks to his never-ending supply of one-liners and the crackling will-they-or-won't-they chemistry that fueled his relationship with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). He might not have been around as long as Captain America (few have, to be fair), but in my mind, he's always been the king of the MCU. That's what makes his death in Avengers: Endgame both emotionally gutting and, to borrow a word from Thanos, inevitable.
We all knew it was coming. Most of us expected it to happen in Avengers: Infinity War. Many were surprised that it didn't. And while watching Tony take his final breaths made me cry enough tears during my screening of the film that the stranger next to me felt the need to slowly turn his head and whisper, "Are you alright?" it's the only way that the character really could (and should) have exited the franchise.
Endgame begins with Tony and Nebula being rescued from their stranded spaceship by Captain Marvel and returned to earth with Tony hanging on by a thread. He's in an emotional place and doesn't want to discuss ways of rescuing the people who died after Thanos's snap - as he sees it, he failed, which is something he's not used to doing. Then suddenly five years have gone by, and we see that the remaining Avengers have dealt with their loss in different ways - leading group therapy sessions (Steve), becoming deadly vigilantes (Clint), throwing themselves into their work (Nat). But Tony, for once, seems at peace - he and Pepper have moved to a beautiful lakeside estate, have welcomed a young daughter, Morgan, and have even gotten into composting. (OK, Pepper is into composting.) Overall, fatherhood has changed him for the better.
But because we can't have nice things (and because half the world is still dead at this point), the Avengers come calling with an idea of how to bring their dusted pals back: time travel. Tony balks at the idea and refuses on the basis of how dangerous it is. He, understandably, doesn't want to risk losing the new family he's created. But soon he comes around after figuring out a way to successfully pull it off. As Pepper tells him, he'd never be able to "rest" knowing that he had a way to save the world and didn't.
Tony joins Steve, Rhodey, Nebula, Thor, Rocket, Nat, Scott, and Hulk on a mission to go back in time and collect the Infinity Stones before Thanos ever does, and then return to their own timeline. They succeed, so the Hulk volunteers to wear the new Infinity Gauntlet and snap to bring everyone back, as only he can survive it. We know from an earlier scene in Endgame that snapping while wearing the glove beams out enough gamma radiation to severely (but not fatally) wound half of Thanos's body, so for a human to try would mean certain death. Luckily the Hulk survives, and the snap works.
Flash forward a few scenes and a past version of Thanos has now traveled through time to battle for the Infinity Stones and destroy half the world all over again. So, you know what that means: an all-out superhero brawl, of course. Although the team is able to hold their own (for a while, at least) against Thanos's massive intergalactic army, things start to turn in favor of the big purple baddie when he gets his meaty hand on the Infinity Gauntlet. He utters his new favorite catchphrase - "I am inevitable" - before snapping . . . and then realizing all too late that none other than Iron Man has stolen the stones straight out of his golden glove.
Tony quickly assembles the stones in a makeshift gauntlet built into his suit and locks eyes with Thanos before declaring, "I am Iron Man." (This is extremely fitting, considering those are the exact same words that kicked off the MCU over 10 years earlier at the end of 2008's Iron Man.) He snaps despite knowing what it'll do to his body, and is able to kill Thanos and wipe out his army, who all disintegrate the same way people did in Infinity War. Tony's sacrificial snap instantly sends a fatal wave of gamma energy through his body, frying his right side and rendering him unable to even really speak. He dies on the battlefield with his wife, Pepper, and protégé, Peter Parker, at his side.
An intimate funeral is held at his lakeside home with all the Avengers present - even Captain Marvel and Nick Fury - save for Nat, who tragically perishes earlier in the film during her quest for the Soul Stone. It's a bitter (and beautiful) irony that the selflessness Tony learns from being a father to Morgan is exactly the reason why he decides to sacrifice himself at the conclusion of Endgame, ensuring that his daughter grows up in a world safe from a threat like Thanos, even if Tony himself won't be around to see it.
Rest in peace, Mr. Stark.

Nothing Helped My Prewedding Stress Zits Until I Found These Acne Healing Dots
I woke up two days before my dream wedding with the skin of my nightmares. I didn't consider myself a "stressed-out" bride, but my face told a different story on the morning my fiancé and I made the drive from San Francisco to San Diego, CA. A long distance away from the safety of my dermatologist's office, I tried to ignore the cystic bumps growing under my skin. This was easier said than done, however, since the zits were conveniently located in the middle of my forehead and chin. Thankfully, a teeny-tiny product brought me peace of mind, and it cost less than $20.
I tried over-the-counter creams and treatments on my spots, to no avail. I woke up in the middle of the night, unsure of what to do about the growing blemishes. Would my day be ruined by a few unflattering bumps? Absolutely not. I knew the opportunity to marry the man I love and celebrating with family and friends would take precedent. Did I want to reduce the size of my zits for wedding photos? Hell freakin' yes. At around 3 a.m., I hopped onto Sephora's website and stumbled upon a product with over 1,000 reviews and four stars: the Peace Out Acne Healing Dots ($19).
I fell under the zit-zapping dots' spell as soon as I read the product description. Dermatologist Papri Sarkar, MD, is also a fan. "Pimple patches are essentially flesh-colored hydrocolloid bandages that are cut in the shape of circles so they cover pimples," Sarkar said. "Hydrocolloid is often used in wound healing because it draws moisture out of wounds and can stick to both dry and wet sites . . . It's great because it draws out the contents and, sometimes more importantly, keeps the patient from picking at it."
After buying the patches, I had about 24 hours until I needed to wear a full face of wedding makeup. I stuck a few of the dots to my most noticeable spots and crossed my fingers. I changed out the bandages every few hours and, excuse the grossness, noticed they were extracting gunk from the inside out. For best results, Sarkar advised to "very gently prick the pimple with a clean pin once, then apply the patch on top." I didn't mind wearing the dots, since they actually kept my inflamed spots close to flesh toned for me. When they did come off, I noticed the zits had reduced in size and were significantly less red. They didn't fade completely by the time I said "I do," but they were so much smaller, I barely gave them a second thought.
I consider myself lucky, since my skin has been relatively low-maintenance for most of my life. Aside from some pesky hormonal acne, I've been able to skate by relatively unscathed from the skin issues I know many others face. These tiny bandages may not work the same for everyone, but they saved me in a pinch. Now, when I get photos back from our photographer, I'll think of nothing but lovely wedding memories and skin-soothing dots.
I Got My Favorite Shampoo From the Gym, and It's Been My Best Beauty Hack All Year
I'm just going to come right out and say it: I love my hair. It's long and thick, with just the right amount of wave. Even though it has its issues (ahem, frizz), I still wouldn't trade it for anyone else's. I use an amazing hair serum but tend to stick to drugstore shampoo, and that's about as far as my haircare routine goes. I didn't really see the value in fancy shampoos or overly expensive products, but that all changed once I started going to the gym.
There's a Barry's Bootcamp a stone's throw from the POPSUGAR office, and I started going in the morning before work. If you've ever been to this class, you know that a post-workout shower is a necessity. In the bathrooms, they stock Oribe Signature Shampoo ($44) and Conditioner ($44). As I continued to go to Barry's, I noticed that I really liked the way my hair looked after class. I always air-dry my hair, but this time, it felt softer, silkier, and shinier than ever before. I liked it so much that I decided it was time for me to invest, because as great of a workout as it is, I can't go to Barry's every single day.
My hair looks shinier and healthier than ever before, and I actually look forward to washing my hair, which can sometimes be an arduous task.
This might just be my favorite beauty product I've ever bought. My hair looks shinier and healthier than ever before, and I actually look forward to washing my hair, which can sometimes be an arduous task. But I think the most important thing I learned from this is the benefit of self-care. This was something I bought for me, and I feel so much better because of it. It's pricier than my typical shampoo, but the results are so worth it. Plus, it's something I actually use, not an investment that just sits on my shelf.
If you're thinking about investing in a beauty product, consider this piece of advice: it should be something that brings you joy. This shampoo and conditioner bring me more joy than I could've imagined, and to me, that's worth every penny. If you want shiny, healthy hair that makes you smile every time you look in the mirror, you've got to give this a try.

Um, 2 People Have Been Diagnosed With HIV After Getting "Vampire Facials" At a Spa
"There will be blood" sounds more like something Count Dracula would promise his guests at dinner than the basis of a popular facial treatment, but alas, it's 2019, and the world of skincare has taken a grisly turn.
But is the buzzy, nonsurgical procedure known as the "vampire facial" - which requires drawing the customer's blood, extracting the platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and then injecting it back into the face via microneedling - potentially dangerous? The short answer: maybe.
As CBS News reports, the New Mexico Department of Health has recommended that anyone who has gotten the facial at VIP Spa in Albuquerque, NM, get tested for HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C immediately. This comes after an inspections report on Sept. 7, in which officials revealed that the service could have put people at risk of these infections, especially if they got the treatment in May or June of 2018. (The VIP Spa has since closed. We were unable to get in touch with the owner for comment.)
"We undertook the inspection because a client of the VIP Spa developed an infection that may have resulted from a procedure performed at the spa," New Mexico epidemiologist Dr. Michael Landen told CBS affiliate KRQE.
While there is promising research behind PRP, with evidence showing that it can speed up skin healing and boost collagen production, this news sheds light on an important, often overlooked problem: it's finding a licensed professional to inject the stuff that is key.
Ideally, you want to find a physician who has a board certification to perform the types of procedures that involve needles or blood (or scalpels or syringes). Medispas might sound like they're all cucumber water and candles, but great skin will never be worth contracting a blood-borne infection.

The Frida Kahlo Animated Film Finally Has a Director, and She's Mexican!
An animated film telling the story of the life and work of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo finally has a director.
Lupus Films and Universal Content Group signed British actress and director Paloma Baeza to lead the project. She's known for her first animated film, Pole Apart, which won the 2018 BAFTA for best British animated short film, and is currently directing animated live-action feature The Toymaker's Secret.
"Frida Kahlo approached life with such vibrant energy, and was ahead of her time in many ways," Baeza told Variety. "With my Mexican heritage, it is particularly meaningful to have this opportunity to explore her deep and complex personality, as well as her relationship with Mexico's past and its future. Lupus Films have a reputation as a highly respected artisanal animation studio as this project couldn't be in better hands."
Frida Kahlo has been featured in many films and documentaries, most notably Oscar-nominated Frida starring Salma Hayek, but this animated feature will provide a fresh take on the inspirational Latina figure.
With all female producers on board, these women are working together to tell Frida's extraordinary story through 2D animation and some live-action elements. While the animated feature is still in the works, Baeza is working hard to develop the new piece every generation will love.
