A Look Back at Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler's Nearly 30-Year Friendship, in Photos
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler have a friendship like no other in Hollywood. The 50-year-old actress and 52-year-old actor teamed up to star in Netflix's Murder Mystery this year, but their relationship actually dates back nearly three decades, as they first met at a deli and bonded over french toast in the early '90s. "We were friends before Friends," Jennifer said while reflecting on her and Adam's initial hangout on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "We must have been like real family in another life." Aww!
The longtime pals famously costarred as love interests in 2011's Just Go With It, and the following year, Adam spoke at Jennifer's Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony, cracking jokes and declaring, "I love this girl. My wife loves this girl. The entire world loves this girl." Since then, the two have remained closer than ever, hanging out with each other's families and gushing over one another in interviews any chance they get. In honor of Jennifer and Adam's nearly 30-year friendship and the June 14 release of Murder Mystery, we're taking a walk down memory lane and reliving their most frame-worthy pictures together throughout the years.
Mom's Reaction to Delivering an 11-Pound Baby Boy at Home Is Perfect
Natalie had a feeling her third child was going to be on the bigger side, but after delivering the 11-pound, 2-ounce baby naturally and at home, she understandably responded with a shocked reaction. Luckily for us, her birth photographer, Laura Fifield, caught that reaction - and so many more stunning moments from this beautiful, family-centered home birth - on camera.
With her two older children awake and present for the birth and her husband by her side, Natalie spent most of her labor in the birth pool, pushing just a few times before giving birth to her gorgeous baby boy, Simon. The gender was a surprise, and Laura told POPSUGAR Moms that the reaction of Natalie's she caught in the photo above was a mixture of "Wow, I did it" and the baby's gender being revealed.
After some skin-to-skin time and Simon's first nursing session, Natalie's midwives took the little guy to be weighed. "Imagine the surprise when her midwife announced, 'He's 11 pounds, two ounces, Natalie!' Oh my goodness, we were all shocked!" Laura wrote on her blog.
Look through to see more photos from Natalie's home birth.

Watermelon Is Heavenly in Summer - but Is It Hydrating? We Talked to Dietitians to Find Out
There's something about a simple bowl of cubed watermelon amid Summer's thick heat that makes my worries disappear - eating it basically feels like its own form of self-care. And, as the weather does what it does best in these warmer months and you're ready to cut one up for tasting, here's the lowdown of nutritional info you should know.
Watermelon Nutrition
Some fast facts for you - one cup contains:
- About 46 calories
- 9 grams sugar
- 11 grams carbs
- Less than 1 gram protein
- .23 grams fat (which is to be expected, since it's made up of about 92 percent water)
- 170 mg potassium (which is 4 percent of your daily recommended value)
Watermelon has vitamins A and C, as well as lycopene, an antioxidant in red-colored fruit and vegetables like tomatoes that is shown to reduce the risk of cancer, improve cardiovascular health, and help with UV protection. Pro tip: registered dietitian Brittany L. Jones of Blush Nutrition told POPSUGAR the darker red the watermelon is, the more lycopene it will have.
Megan Meyer, PhD, director of science communications at the International Food Information Council Foundation, noted that watermelon is lower in fiber than some other fruits like berries, apples, and oranges. For example, one cup of watermelon has only .6 grams of fiber, whereas one cup of blueberries has 3.6 grams.
Can Eating Watermelon Keep You Hydrated? And, Can You Eat Too Much of It?
Dr. Meyer explaind that "while about 80 percent of our water intake comes from drinking fluids, the other 20 percent comes from the foods we eat." Water content in food varies, but since watermelon is made up of over 90 percent water, she said it can help with hydration. Eating a large amount might, though, leave you feeling bloated and uncomfortably full because of the high water content, she noted.
Watermelon is also considered a high-FODMAP food (which stands for "Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols"), meaning it may not be absorbed well and could cause gas. "If you have irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease, you may want to limit how much you eat," Dr. Meyer said. You can read more about FODMAP foods here. Fruit in general is one of the "best carbohydrate choices you can make," Jones said, since these are natural sugars, "but it's important to add some non-starchy vegetables and protein to your meals as well to round out your plate."
Watermelon Recipes
POPUSGAR has tons of fun ideas for making watermelon into a true star of any dish. There's this no-bake watermelon cake with vanilla bean whipped cream, berries, and almonds; watermelon salad; and even watermelon tacos. Whether you want to eat it fresh or glam it up with some feta and olives, it's melon time - we can feel it!
What the Wildly Attractive Cast of Dark Phoenix Looks Like in and Out of Their Costumes
Do I love the X-Men? Of course! I've been a sucker for their dramatic power struggles, battles between good and evil, and fierce appreciation of individuality. Oh, and their insane powers. (Duh.)
Lasers shooting out of someone's eyes? The ability to stop a hurricane? Or a runaway train? These superheroes are some of the most unique. That uniqueness also extends to their physical appearances, which range from normal scruff to head-to-toe blue skin and a sharp tail. Of all the onscreen superheroes we've seen lately, the actors who play the X-Men have to endure some of the most dramatic transformations.
Now that X-Men: Dark Phoenix is nearly out, you might need a reminder of who everyone is and what they all look like . . . on and off screen. Ahead, check out who plays your favorite mutants and how their IRL looks differ from those of their characters.

Disney's New Frozen Treat Is Basically a Mimosa Ice Cream Float, and I'm Fully Salivating
Disney is hopping on the millennial lingo bandwagon with a new treat dubbed the "FOMOsa" - yep, that's a hybrid of FOMO (aka Fear of Missing Out) and mimosa (aka the beloved brunch beverage). Disney World's new frozen dessert offers a swirl of Dole whip served over sparkling apple cider in a plastic champagne flute, making for a midday pick-me-up that just begs for a hand-in-air, pinky-up photo in front of Cinderella's castle. Although the float technically isn't alcoholic like the Disney parks' other recent boozy releases, you do have the option to punch it up with a more tart flavor by subbing in the orange-citrus swirl Dole whip.
The new FOMOsa is now available for $6 at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, and judging by the photos we've seen so far, it's already causing widespread FOMO, both in the parks and on social media. A word of advice: scarf down that ice cream quickly before the scorching Florida sun causes a serious sticky finger situation!

Younger: Peter Hermann on Charles' Self-Discovery and Sharing "I Love You's" with Liza
For the past five seasons, Charles and Liza's will-they-won't-they romance on Younger has driven fans crazy. After officially coming out as a couple last season, the former colleagues reach another milestone in their relationship when they share "I love you's" other during the season six premiere. Well, in Liza's case, it's more like "blurt out" as she accidentally tells Charles her true feelings when she's leaving for work. Classic, Liza!
"I thought it was so beautiful the way the writers constructed it," Peter Hermann told me about Liza's "I love you" moment. "It almost happens without thinking, which in a sense is the most beautiful way to hear from someone for the first time that they love you, because there's such an honesty about it. if it doesn't come out as part of this endless decision about 'do I say this, do I not say this?' It just came out so organically out of her."
Although Liza and Charles have said the "L" word, Hermann admitted that it won't be all sunshine and rainbows for them this season. "The reason it's fun to play, is because you get to see and you get to play these two adults in a relationship and everything that that means," he said. "Adult humans, that species in relationships are complicated. We're complicated. We have to think about what we want to let go of, what we want to hang onto, what we want to give up, what we're willing to be totally honest about. In any relationship, there are things to work through and that's where we reveal ourselves as people. That's where the two of them are revealed as characters and as partners and that's why they're interesting to watch."
While Liza and Charles are currently adjusting to their new relationship, Charles is also going through some life changes. At the end of last season, he steps down as the head of Empirical Press so he can finally go public with Liza. As Charles rediscovers himself this season, Hermann added that we'll see a completely different side of the character as he listens to his heart more. "He is certainly driven by his intellect which is a beautiful thing to be driven by. We see him more impulsive [this season]. We see him more driven by his heart. We just see him more open and more open to possibility."
Even though Charles and Liza's relationship has been a slow burn, fans can attest that it has been well worth the wait. For Hermann, he really loves how their relationship has grown and matured over time. "It is a relationship that's been born out of the writers watching how these two characters live and [how] these two characters are drawn to each other. Their togetherness is organic in that way. It's been very beautifully written. I like that we're watching two grownups and negotiate or make their way through what it means to open your heart to somebody in the real world."
"Sutton Foster is winsome. She's a knockout human being."
Of course, what makes Charles and Liza's onscreen relationship so special is the offscreen friendship between Hermann and Sutton Foster. While chatting with Hermann, he couldn't say enough good things about his costar. "We're an ensemble cast, but there's a lot that rests on her shoulders," he said, before comparing Foster's work ethic to that of his wife Mariska Hargitay. "Like on SVU, there's a lot that rests on Mariska's shoulders and she carries what is on her shoulders with such an incredible work ethic and such determination. And Sutton is the reason that the tone on our set is as positive as it is. There are many leads on shows who figure, 'Well, I'm leading the show. I can be last when we get called to set. I'm entitled to certain things.' She has none of that. She is winsome. She's a knockout human being."
On top of being an incredible person, Hermann added that Foster is "just incredibly good at what she does." "Sutton plays [Liza] in all of her complications and all her layers so beautifully and at the same time it's so unbelievably funny. There are there things that she does in the show and then we turn around on my coverage, and I just say to her like, 'I'm sorry, you can't do it that way and you can't do that because I will be in a puddle of hysterics, hysterical laughter on the ground for next hour because I can't hold it together during the tape. It's like watching Lucille Ball. It's really something."

Though fans can't get enough of Charles' romance with Liza, we also love Hermann's real-life relationship with his wife of 15 years. Since the two both star on NYC-based shows, we all can't help but wonder: when will Hargitay guest-star on Younger? Well, Hermann is definitely down for it! "I have thought about so many different ways that she could make her way in," he said. "Even if I have to sneak her on to set and she's just going to walk across the background, we're going to make it by hook or by crook." He even has the perfect role in mind for her. "[She could be] a police lieutenant taking some kind of report in the background when something goes wrong. I don't know what. But we got to get her in there."
Selena Gomez Teases the Inspiration For Her New Album: "Huge Moments Happened in My Life"
Can you believe it's been two whole years since Selena Gomez released her singles "Fetish" and "Bad Liar"? And four years since her album Revival - which includes hits like "Hands to Myself" and "Same Old Love" - came out? Well, at long last, it seems the Selena Gomez Music Drought has ended. A few days after the 26-year-old singer and actress told Entertainment Tonight that her new album is "finally done," she sat down with Jimmy Fallon to discuss the inspiration for her fresh batch of songs.
"I'm actually done [with the album]. I'm just relieved, 'cause it took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally," she explained of her recent hiatus from the music industry. "How was I gonna capture that? How was I gonna actually feel good about what I was saying? I kept going, and I'm relieved now."

She added that the album will have a "sense of strong pop" as far as genre is concerned, but she's also exploring more soulful elements that she has yet to tap into as an artist. Even though it's felt like an eternity since we got news of what her new album would consist of or when it would be released, she's actually been teasing it since February when she posted an Instagram video of herself in the studio. She also recently collaborated with J Balvin on the song "I Can't Get Enough" and with friend Julia Michaels on "Anxiety."
While we await an official date on when Gomez's next album is dropping, you can always head to the movie theater on June 14 to catch her battling zombies in her star-studded film directed by Jim Jarmusch, The Dead Don't Die.
An In-Depth Look At the Great "Hair Tie" vs. "Ponytail" Debate
What do you call the thing that holds your hair up? Hair ties, ponytails, hair bows, elastics, or maybe, none of the above? Growing up, my mom called them "wiggle-waggles" - don't ask me why. Imagine my embarrassment when I walked into first grade, searching for anything to tie my hair back, only to find out that no one knew what a "wiggle-waggle" was. The shame still lingers.
We recently asked POPSUGAR Instagram followers what they call that circular piece of elastic, and boy, did they deliver. Prompted by their strong opinions, I decided to ask my coworkers for their thoughts and feelings. Sadly, no one else picked up on the "wiggle-waggle" trend, but I did get a variety of answers I'd never considered before. Who knew the tiny band around your wrist could have so many names? Keep reading to see what labels people tossed around, and in case of emergency, remember: a quick gesture toward your wrist will let anyone know you're in need of a hair accessory - no words necessary.
Hair tie
What people think:
- "I feel like this is the most commonly used phrasing, and when I need to borrow from a friend, I go for 'hair tie' above all else."
- "I definitely use this the most, especially since that is what it most accurately means to me if you literally break it down: it's a tie that holds your hair. Duh."
- "It's the easiest to say! Short, sweet, gets to the point. Honestly the best option."
- "This probably says a lot about my people-pleasing nature, but I mix it up between hair tie, hair elastic and ponytail holder depending on the audience. I try to read their beauty IQ and adjust accordingly (ie: hair tie with friends, hair elastic with hair stylists, ponytail holder with my mom)."
- "I feel like of all the choices, this is the most universally known and accepted default term of them all."
Hair elastic
What people think:
- "Being in the beauty world, I'm so used to hearing every hairstylist call them 'an elastic' that I've weirdly adopted that into my own vernacular."
- "As an older millennial, I stand by the fact that this is what we were all calling them in the '80s. I still use this term, despite hair tie being the more popular name now, because, well, you aren't physically tying anything (as you would with a ribbon). I've also been told I'm hyper literal.
- "As an older millennial, I never used this term."
- "I call them just 'elastics' but I asked my mom and she said it's a 'New England thing.'"
Ponytail holder
What people think:
- "I've always called it a 'ponytail holder,' because that's what it does!"
- "Totally called them ponytail holders growing up, but I think over time I've adopted 'hair tie' since it's what's used most by my friends."
- "My mom called them ponytail holders growing up, so that's what I called them."
- I strongly feel this is all wrong. Hair ties don't just hold ponytails, they hold braids and buns too. Don't put your hair tie in that box!"
- "This is the most accurate I guess but it takes so long to say."
- This is my mom's go-to choice, but she's literally never once put her hair in a ponytail so I've asked why she doesn't call it a 'bun holder' instead. Still waiting for a nonsarcastic response, TBH."
- We also just called them 'ponies.'"
Scrunchie
What people think:
- For me, scrunchies are a very specific type of hair tie. They're pleated and fabric-covered, so I wouldn't use the word to describe just any hair-holding device.
- Agreed, this is a very specific kind of hair tie.
- A scrunchie and a hair tie are two different things in my brain. Like, if someone asked to borrow a hair tie and all I had was a scrunchie, I'd say, 'Is a scrunchie okay?' And vice versa.
- A scrunchie is its own entity and I will not be convinced otherwise.
- "Scrunchie should only be used for an elastic covered with fabric and is really about the fashion statement. I'm psyched they're back - but secretly I've never really stopped having a few at home to wear post-shower or to bed."
- "For me, scrunchie is the go-to in my head, but I get JUDGED because I include non-fabric hair ties under this umbrella as well. It's just a cuter word."
- "It's all been said, but a Scrunchie™️ is a very specific thing. Please see season 6, episode 4 of Sex and the City for reference."
Liga
What people think:
- "Like most people from Miami - Spanish-speakers or otherwise, to be honest - I've always referred to it as a 'liga!' It's been years since I moved to New York and I still have to remind myself to say 'hair tie' when asking to borrow one from a friend or coworker."
- "Ditto to calling it a 'liga.' If I'm back home or with family I'll always call it that over a hair tie, just depends on who I'm with."
Other
What people think
- "I now realize it's probably a Southern thing, but a lot of people around me growing up called it a hair bow. I do still use this in addition to hair tie."
- "I have a friend who calls them "hair bands," but to me, that's a little too close to "headband" and it just feels confusing."
- "My mom used to call them rubber bands, so I called them that until my teen years. So ridiculous and harsh-sounding, WTF mom?"
- "I'll sometimes say 'hair tie' to blend in with society but for me it's straight up 'hair thing,' now and forever."
- "I am from India and everyone there refers to them as 'hair bands.' To me, calling it anything other than a 'hair band' is insane- it is a rubber band that you use to tie your hair, hence it is a hair band.
- "I've called them rubber bands my whole life and will continue to do so. It has never been a point of confusion, but I know my audience, so if I'm asking to 'borrow' one I'll refer to it as a 'hair thing' and jester to my empty wrist."
- "I sometimes go hair band, sometimes hair thing - it really just depends on who I'm asking and if they'll understand what I'm asking for or not."
We Dare You to Name a More Seasoned Style Pro Than Nicole Kidman . . . We'll Wait
When you think of Nicole Kidman, her incredible acting career might come into your mind, but what we think about is her always daring red carpet style. The Australian actress is a legend - both onscreen and off. While her award-winning roles in Moulin Rouge, The Hours, Cold Mountain, Lion, and Big Little Lies have solidified her status as a force to be reckoned with, it's her consistent styling excellence on the red carpet that has proven equally formidable.
Nicole is both traditionally glamorous and surprisingly avant-garde in her fashion choices, which makes her a true style chameleon. We love that she never shies away from a jaw-dropping detail, be it an oversize neck bow, a very strong shoulder silhouette, head-to-toe embellishments, or a daring color choice (that chartreuse John Galliano for Dior gown at the 1997 Oscars says it all). And even after almost three decades in the spotlight, she knows how to keep us on our toes. The proof of Nicole's red-carpet evolution (and staying power!) is in each and every look in this list.
Celine Dion's Sons Join Her on Stage For an Emotional Tribute to Her Late Husband
After 16 years and 1,141 shows, Celine Dion's Las Vegas residency has come to an end. On Saturday, the legendary 51-year-old singer performed her last concert at Caesars Palace's Colosseum, and it was emotional, to say the least. In addition to debuting her new song "Flying on My Own," Celine paid tribute to her late husband, René Angélil. While singing a cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," a photo of her and René was shown on the screen and her three sons - René-Charles, 18, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 8 - then got up on stage with her.
"I'm both proud and humbled by what we've accomplished at the Colosseum since we began 16 years ago when René and I first shared this dream. This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career, one that I will cherish forever," she said. "I have so many people to thank, but the most important 'thank you' goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love."
Celine first met René in 1980 when she was 12 and he was 38. The Canadian music producer served as her mentor and manager for seven years before their relationship turned romantic. They eventually got married in December 1994 and later became parents to their three beautiful sons. Sadly, René's life was cut short in January 2016 when he lost his courageous battle with cancer, but his memory lives on in the hearts of his family.

Sophie Turner Wants a Movie About Her Friendship With Maisie Williams - When Can I Buy a Ticket?
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams may have played sisters on Game of Thrones for almost a decade, but their relationship goes way beyond the small screen. The actors are best friends in real life, and their bond is so unique that Sophie thinks it'd be pretty good movie material - and I, for one, can't say I disagree. In a recent interview published by Vogue Paris, the 23-year-old X-Men: Dark Phoenix star sat down with costar Jessica Chastain to talk about her past roles and her hopes to one day produce and direct films. "As an actor, you can only have so much creative control," she said. "I want to be able to have full creative control and create my own vision and that's something I'm quite passionate about."
Speaking of passionate, Sophie mentioned that she'd be totally down to write a film based on her friendship with Maisie. "She and I have a very intense friendship, a friendship that I haven't had with any of my other girlfriends before," she explained. "We felt like we wanted to write a movie about a friendship where it's kind of like, you're soulmates, but you're friends, and it's like this beautiful connection, but it can also be quite destructive." There's no telling if this movie will actually get made, but if it does, I'm already planning on buying my ticket way ahead of time.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix Says a Tragic Goodbye to a Major Character
Spoilers for X-Men: Dark Phoenix are lurking below, FYI.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix had a daunting task to accomplish in its 113-minute runtime - wrap up the storylines of all the major characters in satisfying enough ways, while still leaving room for future spinoffs. (Now that Disney has control of both Marvel and 20th Century Fox, we know that's inevitable, right?) While the film does manage to give the arcs of characters like Hank/Beast and Erik/Magneto reasonable conclusions, others are left more ambiguous. And in the case of one mutant in particular, her arc is extinguished altogether - unfortunately Raven, aka Mystique, doesn't make it out of Dark Phoenix alive.
The character has undergone an admirable inner transformation, proving that her shape-shifting abilities extend beyond her appearance. Raven, played by Jennifer Lawrence since 2011's X-Men: First Class, has evolved from a cynical potential villain into a woman full of empathy for her fellow mutants, and who is deeply protective of the younger students at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. It's that guardian-like quality that actually gets her into trouble in Dark Phoenix.
The film begins with Xavier sending the team up to space to rescue an American space shuttle that's in trouble. They manage to get almost all the astronauts off the ship and back on their own save for one, so with time running out, Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Kurt (Kodi Smit-McPhee) teleport over to try to pull the last man out of the wreckage before a large, churning ball of energy can destroy it.
Kurt succeeds in saving the last astronaut thanks to Jean holding the ship together with her telekinetic powers, but he's not able to grab Jean in time - the Phoenix Force slams into her, but rather than disintegrating like the ship around her, her body absorbs it. She passes out after the explosion, but soon wakes up feeling better than ever. Though the Phoenix Force makes her stronger and almost all-powerful, she also discovers that she's incredibly volatile and unable to control herself. It's this unstable quality of her new powers that leads to the death of Raven/Mystique.
After an outburst at a party leaves some of her friends wounded (and scared of her), Jean decides to run away from the school to keep everyone safe. She also decides to track down the father she thought was dead all this time, flying straight to his house. Unfortunately, once she gets there and introduces herself, it becomes clear that he willingly handed Jean over to Charles a decade earlier because he didn't want her, and still blames her for her mother's tragic death.
This, unsurprisingly, pisses Jean the f*ck off, and she has one of her volatile outbursts. Before she can decimate her father's house, however, the X-Men arrive to stop her and bring her home. She refuses, still angry that Charles kept the existence of her father from her all these years, flipping over police cars and tossing her friends around in the process. Before Hank/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) can shoot her with a tranquilizer, Raven steps into the fray to try to calm Jean down.
Raven is able to make Jean float back down to earth, speaking to her in calming tones and reminding her that they're family, but the Phoenix Force coursing through Jean's veins is too much to withstand. Jean screams, letting loose a giant burst of energy that sends everyone flying backwards. Sadly when Raven is sent careening through the air, she lands on some of the wreckage from Jean's dad's house, impaling her.
Jean, horrified, flies away before she can destroy anyone else. Hank rushes over, and sobs over Raven's body as she tries to choke out one final "I love you." But it's too late - Raven is dead.
Team X-Men later holds a somber funeral for their fallen friend in the rain, but ultimately Raven's death proves to be a tipping point, shattering the bonds of the group. Hank, heartbroken and furious over Charles' perceived inaction toward Jean, leaves the school to team up with Magneto and kill the Dark Phoenix.
In the end, of course, Jean sacrifices herself to save everyone (basically becoming a god) and the X-Men are able to put aside their differences and move forward. Raven might not be around to see Hank in charge of the new school, which is renamed the Jean Grey School for Gifted Youngsters, but we imagine that it's a future she would've been proud of.
