If Selena Gomez and Avril Lavigne Made a Song, It Would Be This Acoustic "Boyfriend" Cover
As a tribute to Selena Gomez's newest album Rare (one of the artist's most open and sincere records to date), mononymous YouTube user Katia recently sat down to perform a raw acoustic cover of "Boyfriend" that we think Gomez would be proud of. The impassioned cover injects every lyric with heartfelt emotion and transforms the song into an upbeat heartbreak anthem with all of Gomez's meaningful lyrics and a dash of Avril Lavigne's passionate angst. While most of the song is melodic and hopeful, the powerful chorus hammers home the song's relatable message and has us singing along until the end. Watch the amazing performance above.

My Late Abuelo and My Now-Husband Have the Same Name and I Took It as a Sign
My maternal grandfather passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015. I met my now-husband, Manny, the following Thursday, June 4, when we were paired to walk down the aisle together at our friend's wedding. Manny's last name is Cabrera - same as my grandfather, who was Reemberto Cabrera.
Now that we are married, I carry the same last name as my grandfather (my mother's maiden name), and I think it's abuelo's way of making sure I knew he had something to do with this. My grandma jokes that my grandfather sent him to me. I like to believe that's true.

Before my abuelo passed, I sat on his lap on his recliner at home, feeling like my 6-year-old self, and knowing it would likely be the last time. Like many traditional Hispanic men, he was so concerned about leaving this earth without seeing me with "a good man."
In no rush to settle for the sake of settling, I told him I would marry someone when I found a guy just like him - a hard worker who put his family first, was selfless, loving, and a true gentleman. I used to joke with him and say "send me a man like you," and he joked back that men like him rarely existed anymore.
Anyone who knew my grandfather understood that finding a solid man like him was like finding a needle in a haystack.

That's why having my grandfather's memory present on our wedding day was vital to me. Manny purchased my ring from the same diamond dealer my grandfather used to work with as a jeweler. The man who created my ring was a longtime family friend.
A picture of my grandfather hung on my bouquet, which featured orchids - my grandfather's favorite flower. My bouquet also contained carefully placed butterflies - a symbol of emergence and constant transformation - which I had seen the day after he passed. These were tied to my bouquet using fabric from a blue shirt that belonged to my abuelo, some of which I had also sewn onto my dress as my something blue.

I wore my childhood azabache, which my grandfather had gifted me as a baby, inside my dress for protection.
I felt my abuelo's presence at the wedding, and I know he was smiling along with me. Now I hope to be able to carry the Cabrera legacy, the unity of our new blended family, and the bond we share for years to come by keeping our culture alive and creatively making it our own as we span generations, always remembering those who came before us.
40 Retailers Selling (and Donating) Face Masks During the Coronavirus Pandemic
The Centers For Disease Control (CDC) has advised all Americans to wear cloth face masks while out in public to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). These precautions were put in place to prevent the spread of the virus by those who are infected with it and are asymptomatic. The CDC advised wearing a cloth face covering when you're out in public places, like grocery stores and pharmacies, where the social distancing guidelines are harder to follow. For many before the pandemic, face masks were not a part of their at-home collection. Luckily, a selection of retailers have now made protective face coverings available for purchase. For those who do not have masks already or prefer not to make a DIY face mask, buying one is an easy alternative.
In order to properly wear a face mask, it must fit closely against the face, be secured with ties or ear loops, include more than one layer of fabric, allow for breathing, and be able to be washed without getting damaged. It's worth noting that while these cloth face coverings are not medical grade masks like the N95 respirators and surgical masks, which are being reserved for healthcare workers, they are still useful to put on when out in public. Wearing a cloth mask will not ensure protection against ingesting droplets, but it's a precautionary safety measure worth taking.
Ahead is a curated list of face masks that are available to buy online, including companies and brands that are doing their part by donating proceeds and masks to charities and hospitals to help those working against the virus. If you don't already have a mask or need another one for yourself or a loved one, shop these picks now and help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Mental Illness Can Be Debilitating, and It's Harmful to Pretend That's Not the Case
As someone who is clinically diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I understand the importance of normalizing mental illness and fighting back against the stigma that prevents people from getting the help and support they need. But while we've made strides in recent years, I worry it's come at the expense of downplaying the seriousness of these conditions.
I often hear folks say that people with mental illness function just like everyone else and that these conditions rarely, if ever, interfere with their lives. I've even heard these disorders compared to broken bones - and while it's true that you should be no more ashamed of having bipolar II than you would be a broken arm or foot, this analogy is deeply flawed.
For one thing, doctors know exactly how to fix broken bones. There are casts, crutches, slings, and surgeries - and though the treatment plan varies depending on the severity of the break, physicians can typically estimate how long it'll take for you to recover.
With mental illness, doctors have a much more difficult time finding an effective treatment. Many people find themselves shuffling through different types of therapies and medications for years before landing on a combination that works for them - and even then, you may find that you've suddenly hit a wall with a specific therapist or that your dosage needs to be adjusted. When everything falls into place, there's still no cure for mental illness. Treatment helps manage the symptoms, but there are days when you may still experience panic attacks, struggle to get out of bed, lash out at friends, bite your nails until they bleed, or lose all sense of time.
It's time we acknowledge the hardships those with mental illness face, instead of diminishing them.
Some days, I struggle to find the energy to do even the simplest tasks. I'm constantly worrying and overanalyzing things I've said or done, wondering what would have happened if I had handled things differently. I'm also not good with change, and I often find it difficult to stay motivated to hang out with friends, despite feeling lonely. Worst of all, I always feel like I'm disappointing everyone, no matter what I say or do.
Of course, despite these challenges, people with mental illness can still earn a college degree, have a family, get the career they want, have a fulfilling social life, and more. But doing these things while navigating a diagnosis is difficult and exhausting in ways that those who have never struggled with their mental health may never understand. It's time we acknowledge the hardships those with mental illness face, instead of diminishing them. Because every day is a triumph.

I Got Out the Worst Red Wine Stain I've Ever Seen With This Unbelievable Spray
Let me paint a picture for you; it's Sunday morning, and I'm getting ready for my daily workout. As I make my bed, the process of me fluffing the comforter knocks over the glass of red wine I had the night before, and it goes everywhere. My sheets are now soaking in Cabernet, and I start to panic. This is not a drop of red wine, this is a solid 1/4 of my white sheets. I am, in a word, devastated, and have resigned myself to going linen shopping, until my mom shows me this Unbelievable Pro Stain and Odor Remover ($15).
Reader, this product is magical. I sprayed it all over the stain, waited 60 seconds for the product to soak in, scrubbed at the stain a bit, and then bathed the sheets in a mixture of water and bleach. When I pulled out the sheets, there was no stain. I'm telling you, nothing. They looked as if nothing happened to them. I'm convinced this is pure sorcery, but I'm not mad about it. Once that was done, I threw them in the wash, and my sheets look good as new. I wish I had a before and after to show you, but in the midst of my tears I did not take a photo, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Red wine drinkers, I have two important takeaways. Don't take your wine to bed with you, and always make sure you have Unbelievable spray on hand.

Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson Have a Simple and Very Sweet Origin Story
<
Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne are one of the most fashionable couples in Hollywood, and definitely one of the hottest. The model and actress can be linked to each other as far back as May 2018 on social media, which is right around when they officially met on the set of the 2018 film Her Smell.
Her Smell, where Cara played Crassie Cassie and Ashley played Roxie Rotten in a fictitious band called Akergirls, filmed in April and May 2018. Amid all this, Ashley posted the first selfie of the pair on her Instagram, but there was no obvious clue about whether or not they'd started dating. Ashley and Cara continued to pop up together on social media and at various hangouts for the next several months but it wasn't until they were spotted kissing in August 2018 that it was pretty much confirmed that the two were together. However, Cara didn't confirm their relationship until June 2019 with an Instagram video from Her Smell acknowledging "our one year anniversary."
Since then, the two have not hidden their love, going to events together, sharing sweet photos on Instagram, speaking about the other in interviews and even getting tattoos for each other. Cara even helped Ashley celebrate her 30th birthday in a completely epic way in Morocco and posted the loveliest message for her girlfriend on Instagram.
Cara, though, told Elle UK in October 2019 that sometimes she's been hesitant to mention Ashley so publicly, "Because [my relationship is] sacred. I get why people care so much, and I don't want to be so secretive that people think I'm ashamed of anything. But I've never been in a relationship where things are so public, or where I posted pictures of someone else. This seemed different." These two find a balance, though, between keeping much of their private lives private and sharing snippets with the public so we can see just how sweet and happy they are.

This 2-Ingredient Strawberry Whipped Milk Is Like a Pastel Pink Cloud You Can Eat
Someone hand me my phone because my Insta feed is about to be flooded with photos of this pastel pink whipped strawberry milk. Made with just two ingredients, the milk is the perfect treat for those who've already dipped their resuable straws in whipped coffee, whipped matcha, and whipped chocolate.
To recreate the whipped strawberry milk for yourself, whisk together four tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and two tablespoons of strawberry powder or syrup. If you're looking for an arm workout, you can whisk the mixture by hand, but an electric mixer works just as effectively. Once the mixture is fluffy and thick, fill a glass with ice and your milk of choice before topping with a few generous spoonfuls of the cream. Add a fresh strawberry on top for the 'gram and you're done!
See more examples of this cotton candy-pink dessert drink for yourself ahead, and try the recipe out next time you're in the mood for something sweet.

But in the event that you - like me at age 13, during the delightful stage known by endocrinologists as puberty - are plagued with the question of how to shave your vulva (the anatomically correct term for your hoo-ha, since the vagina is all internal), there are a few things to keep in mind.
First, don't do what I did and drag your razor back and forth across the skin - first in the direction of hair growth, and then against the grain - as many times as you need until it's all smooth, like my decidedly cooler ninth-grade friend told me to. This, I can attest, leads only to unsightly ingrowns and tiny red bumps that will make you feel like a plucked chicken. Instead, follow these pro tips from CC Ades, co-founder of Pacific Shaving Co. Trust me: your bikini line depends on it.
Step 1: Gather the Goods
When choosing a razor for this sensitive area, consider the number of blades. "When it comes to the pubic area, less is more," she said. (You know, just to be safe.) "You don't need a 12-blade razor like you might for your legs, because that will just irritate the skin."
The magic number, then, is somewhere between three and five blades. The non-negotiable? "You have to have a sharp razor blade - that's the first thing - and that you replenish the blade when required."
For Me, a Healthy Morning Routine Became Even More Crucial While Working From Home
I've always wanted to be a morning person, but if I had to choose between snoozing my alarm for an extra 15 minutes and basically anything else, you'd find me with my eye mask on and curtains drawn, fighting for a few extra minutes of REM sleep.
When I first began working from home, rolling out of bed minutes before my first meeting became even more tempting. But I quickly realized that waking up earlier, just as I would if I needed to commute, is uniquely beneficial because it gives me some time for myself and the opportunity to tackle some small tasks that get my brain going. The result? I feel more energized and focused and better equipped to get through the workday. Here are the habits I'm putting into practice every morning and why you should do the same.
