The Daily Show Calls Out Critics of Beyoncé's Super Bowl Performance
The Daily Show's Jessica Williams didn't hold back while defending Beyoncé's buzzy Super Bowl halftime performance on Monday. Calling out critics of the show-stealing performance who noted its political message and wanted more "wholesome" entertainment, she said, "I didn't realize that singing about race was equivalent to Janet Jackson getting her titty pulled out." She added, "You're right . . . the fans deserve wholesome entertainment. Like watching 300-pound men give each other concussions while a crowd cheers like we're extras in the movie Gladiator."
