In Case You Forgot, This Is What Youth Sports Should Really Be About
Last weekend, kids from around the globe competed at the Junior Soccer World Challenge in Japan. In one game, Barcelona's under-12 team beat the local Japanese squad 1-0.
As the Barcelona boys were jumping up and down, exchanging hugs and high-fives, it became clear that the losing team was visibly upset. Instead of carrying on, the winners each stopped celebrating and consoled their heartbroken opponents. They patted heads, offered words of encouragement, and checked to be sure they were OK.
Take a look at the video, and just try not to be swept up in the moment. This is what being a good sport – and a winner – is really all about.
