Looking back through 2016 and the year's top moments may feel like a nightmare some people don't want to relive. But, despite all the negative events that happened this year, there is plenty to celebrate and remember across social media. Twitter is already walking down memory lane by releasing its annual list of top tweets, challenges, and more.
The list includes all sorts of trends and topics people talked about on Twitter. Some of the top trending topics included the Rio Olympics, the 2016 election, Brexit, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the Pokémon Go craze. If you want to see more highlights of the year, Twitter is marking some of the year's biggest moments with the hashtag #ThisHappened.
