Relive the Brilliance That Is James Corden and George Michael's Carpool Karaoke Video
At this point, James Corden's viral "Carpool Karaoke" video series is all but iconic thanks to superstar guests like Mariah Carey, Adele, and Justin Bieber (among many, many others), but it all started with one very special musician: George Michael, who unexpectedly passed away on Christmas. The Late Late Show host's first stab at the now-popular segment was with his pal George, which they did as a sketch for Britain's Comic Relief charity in 2011. "My original idea was to pick George Michael up from prison in a car," James explained to Stephen Colbert during an appearance on The Late Show in June. "And then we realized, 'Maybe we'll lose the prison, but what if there's still some fun for me and George to be in the car and we'll sing some Wham! songs?'" Although few things are likely to make you feel better about the singer's shocking death, watching him enthusiastically belt out his most popular tunes with James just might lift your spirits.
